Beef pho with three toppings: meatball, brisket, fatty brisket.
    Felecia I.

One of the best pho bowls in Austin! My favourite is the regular sized beef broth pho with fresh made noodles and three toppings: meatball, brisket & brisket (tried the fatty brisket this time and ended up with cuts containing 99% fat - not at all what was expected). And the broth. Oh, the broth. I could just order a bowl of that broth and be happy. Unlike other Viet eateries, this one provides each person with his/her own personal plate of vegetable condiments - basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño. A nice touch.

THE BIG: Located off of E Parmer lane near the Tech Ridge area of North Austin. Standalone brick and mortar that has a fusion of asian dishes to choose from. Plenty of parking in the lot. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here with our infant son to get some decent Vietnamese food and it lived up to the mission! When we got in, service was on par, we got seated immediately. Ordering, we got the large pho and the grilled pork banh mi. The pho came in two sizes: small and large, then you chose 3 meats to put in. I got the tendon, rare brisket, and flank. The pho broth was too salty for my taste profile but the hand pulled noodles was nice and bouncy. The banh mi was the star of the show with the crispy bread and succulent meat. Per asian restaurant, pay at the front when you finish your food. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall, we spent around $30 for two dishes. The banh mi was fire. Definitely recommend that as it was the crispiest banh mi I've had in a while.

Fresh bowl is one of the better places to get Vietnamese cuisine in Austin. This place is so bright, service is good, the only thing I will complain about is the turn into their parking lot is a bit weird. I usually will get a rice plate or their house banh mi(absolutely amazing would recommend) but this visit I got the Hu Tieu Go. I would rate this a 8/10, the flavor was nice and light and the meats were good but the shrimp was slightly overcooked. Personally would have loved a little more noodles but this was pretty good and I'd order it again.

Vegan Pho w Beef Broth instead of Veggie broth. Phenomenal

Fresh Bowl is easily one of the top tier pho spots in Austin. Dare I say ELITE???...with two small personal preferences/gripes that keep me from saying this place is a TEN. In my opinion, the star of the show here? The Vegan Pho. It comes out piping hot and loaded to the max full of stuff: fresh handmade noodles, big chunky vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrots, mushrooms), lots of onions and generous slabs of fried tofu. No skimpy bowls here. I'm not fully vegan, so I sub the veggie broth for beef broth ****and let me tell you**** that THIS MOVE takes the pho from being "very good" to "why is this so PERFECT?" Rich flavor, lots of collagen, warming to the soul. Chef's kiss. They also bring all the herbs, sprouts, and lime so you can dress it exactly how you want. Now...if Fresh Bowl added bánh xèo to the menu, I'd be super emotionally invested. And while the spring rolls here are OK, other Vietnamese spots in town use better cuts of beef and pork. Minor gripe, but a personal preference. Use better cuts of meat for your spring rolls. Drinks though? Untouchable. The Vietnamese iced matcha latte is STRONG, cold, and perfectly balanced--condensed milk, bold matcha, and subtle jasmine notes. Refreshing, addictive, and easily one of the best iced drinks in the city. Service is consistently solid. Even when it's busy, they make the effort to check in and keep things moving, which goes a long way. Between Fresh Bowl and 'Pho, Please', I honestly can't pick a winner for the best pho in Austin. Both are excellent. I'm just begging politely, BOTH OF YOU, please put bánh xèo on the menu.

I like going to fresh bowl because it's super kid friendly. They have lots high chairs and there's tons for our nine month old to look at inside the restaurant. Service is friendly and quick. This is the best pho in Austin so far! I always order the fresh noodles because they're made in house and delicious. I got the brisket and fatty brisket and asked for the fatty oil with green onion. This is comfort food.

Came here with a friend when we both needed something soothing. Overall great drinks and food, definitely had a lot on the menu we wanted to try. I got the ube coffee to start which is so delicious, one of my favorites in town. We started with spring rolls, both the pork and tofu. I ordered pho with fresh noodles and he ordered number 42. My pho came out first when we hadn't finished the spring rolls yet and he didn't get his entree for another 10 minutes. Service could definitely be more present and attentive. It would've been nice if the courses arrived at the same time. When it comes to pho the fresh (house) noodles are definitely the way to go. His entree had noodles which were fried in chunks and tossed with various veggies. At the end of the meal you pay at the counter. All flavors were good and the inside has a nice ambience with travel and cooking shows on the TVs.

Wowwww! I don't know why we never tried or noticed this place before. We went for the first time and it was mind-blowing - we knew it the moment we stepped inside. The smell of the food was legit amazing! I ordered beef stew, which is my favorite Vietnamese dish, and it was flavorful and absolutely delicious. This place is a hidden gem and is now our favorite spot for authentic Vietnamese food. And the pho and sugar cane juice? Don't even get me started - total game changer! The service was super fast and attentive, the place has good music and is spotless. You MUST try it - it will not disappoint and you'll thank me later!

warning to all the people who are going to order the dishes i did pho ga - broth, not deep. probably only short simmer of some bones. they give you a sweet marinaded grilled chicken instead of pieces of a free range chicken. fresh noodles suck doesn't taste fresh. the chef needs to eat this, the flavor combo doesn't work at all 2/10 seafood fried crispy chow mein - sauce flavor is all wrong, weird and different, maybe you might like it but not what i expect out of this dish 5/10 ube coffee - it was good, came out first, but the above ruined my meal 8+ / 10

Could be the best bun bo hue in Austin when compared to value to price to taste. It's definitely comparable to BBH I've had in Houston. I really appreciate this restaurant packing my bowl the way I would want to eat it at home. Tons of sliced beef shank, plenty of leafy greens, and amazing authentic BHH soup. The soup is legit, strong flavors, tart, deep, tangy, spicy, earthy, it's made from scratch. Not from a jar or powder. I was very impressed. Yes it didn't come with the standard pork bone with the skin on or a side of fermented shrimp paste but who cares when it comes with a ton of meat. Did I say meats? Nice chewy noodles, firm and dense blood cake, seafood tasting cube, sliced meat loaf. It was an amazing experience, took me to the mother land Vietnam. I decided to also try the pho Dac Biet which is the special dish that comes with all the different types of cuts of meat from fatty brisket, 1 meatball, 1 beef tendon. The overall bowl was great. I love how the soup wasn't as fatty as other pho restaurants. For those that are a little health-conscious if you were to refrigerate your soup overnight, you'll see a thin layer that's yellow of solid fat and I always do that with every pho I order but with this restaurant what I really love is that the soup is already clear so I don't have to refrigerate it. The soup is aromatic and very flavorful. Nice beef flavor and again I love how the aerobatics are a little bit more pronounced this time. In my opinion, it's better than Pho Saigon or Pho Huong. Overall, I wish it came with more than 1 meat ball and more than 1 tendon. But when you mix the bouncy noodles, the fresh herbs with the bean sprouts, the sliced meat, and the hot soup it's an overall great experience.

    Banh Mi Tofu

I just heard about this spot from one of my friends. Food was good. I liked the rare streak pho with fresh noodles. Lemongrass shrimp with vermicelli was even better. However, I have had much better banh mi. This one was dry. I picked with fried tofu and had to add some sauce from lemongrass shrimp to that. Sandwich was made from fresh bread but had little of veggies. Dry. Plain flavor. I liked the fact they were giving bottle waters instead of tap waters. It was clean and nice inside, customer service was very friendly. I took one star for the plastic wrap I found in pho broth before giving it to my child. I am glad I saw it first before eating. Hazard. I addressed the issue to the staff and he apologized and said he will share with the team. I will probably go back for lemongrass shrimp and pho.

It's a bit further up North but hands down probably the best pho in Austin and that's because of their fresh noodles. There's no other way to order pho but with their fresh noodles! I do enjoy their Tom Yum and Bun Bo Hue. I do wish they were closer or I would over load on their salted foam Vietnamese coffee!! The service is prompt and quick. My only complaint is why would the veggie dish that comes with the pho/soup dishes are so tiny - I asked for more he said $2. Wow. Never had a restaurant skimp on their side veggies.

The pho was fine but nothing really stood out. It tasted good enough but did not have that depth or richness that makes you crave pho again. The mi kho dry egg noodles were also pretty mid and honestly lacked flavor. It felt like something was missing and I kept wanting to add more to make it pop. I also got the brown sugar milk tea, which I actually really liked. It was very sweet, which worked for me, but some of my friends thought it was way too sweet for their taste. Definitely something to keep in mind if you prefer lighter drinks. You order at the counter and the food comes out pretty fast, which is nice when it is busy.
