I did make a reservation in advance and I definitely recommend doing so as well if you are planning on coming because it is a small restaurant so space is limited. We were seated right away with our reservation. For the $60 you get an assortment of desserts cones, and small sandwiches as well as tea. Everything was so pink and hello kitty themed. I know it's a small space but it was a little inconvenient that there was no high chairs so my daughter had to hold my daughter the entire time. We were craving some iced teas and some snacks and hadn't been to the Hello Kitty Cafe in a while, so we decided to come down. Parking is pretty easy in the spectrum. There are tons of parking structures and I'm sure there is one specific one that is closest to the cafe but if you are coming down to also shop it doesn't really matter where you park. When we came there wasn't too long of a line but shortly after we left there was a line out the door so if you come expect there to be a line. When you are in line there is a cute Hello Kitty figure that you can take a picture with. Right next to the figure there is a window where you can see the workers making the donuts. Once the line moves up a bit you can see their merch items that they currently have. They have the cups and other smaller items on display. I did not see the shirts on display, but they have a poster where you can see all the current clothing items they have. Next to that is the display that has all the treats. I'm not sure if it's all the pastries they have but the menu is right on the wall of everything that you can order. That is also where the menu is for all the drinks. I ended up ordering the Mango iced tea with green tea. You can also order the teas with black tea, so whichever is your preference. You also have the options to add popping bobas, which I did not do. Overall, the tea is pretty good. Are there better teas, yeah but you are honestly coming here for the novelty and the drinks are not bad. Hello kitty Mecca for kitty fans. It wasn't crowded when I went around 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Lots of workers about 6 behind the counter. No waiting at all. Was the hype worth it?! I took my daughter here for her 7th bday! She has been soooo excited, I'm excited for us! I almost booked her a party here, but I'm glad I didn't. Though my daughter and I still enjoyed our experience and time together, she got disinterested too quick after the tea party food came out, they weren't KIDs taste-palette approved. The experience would maybe be worth it for a group of gal friends to try it out for the first time but definitely not worth the price to take your youngins , just get in the "shorter" line for the pastries, the tea brunch dining is extremely a waste with little kids or maybe do a separate kids price. Their service is great though, but their space is literally a shoebox size. At the amount of times I spent booking ahead for months and all year long for this place because it was always fully booked, thinking it'll be spacious and overpacked, I walked into a shoebox feeling. All tables were too close to each other, it was like we were forced to dine properly at a place where kids can't be comfortable. I wish the hype was lived up to, even if I was with a group of my girlfriends to have a blast with, the aura is so "quietly" fine-dined, I wouldn't be comfortable laughing by my table neighbors. I wouldn't come back due to the overpricing of it, the experience was enough and I'm glad it was with my daughter still. Lower the tea party prices, and maybe it'll be worth going back more often not just for a second. Kids are a huge market deal for parents go-tos! Initially I thought this was more for the novelty of hello kitty decor along with basic food items, but I found the experience to be very good. The pricing is fair and a 16 oz cup of mini donuts came out to just over $9. The associates are generous with the cinnamon and sugar, and it definitely leaves me wanting to try the other flavors for the mini donuts (maple and cookies and cream). Initially, the wife helped me order an iced americano but accidentally requested for less ice, which as a result led to a very watered down coffee. I asked one of the associates if it's possible to help fix my drink by just adding an extra shot (instead of replacing it completely) and he had no issues with helping out. Overall, the decor, the decent food and drinks, and the good service make this place a lot more appealing and makes me consider trying to make a reservation in the bow room to take my wife out on a date. read more

Came here with some friends a couple of weeks ago and it was a fun time! We made reservations for The Bow Room at 9pm on a Friday night and there were a few other guests there. We had a large party so it was nice that it wasn't too crowded. I ordered the Picture Perfect which was a cute and tasty drink that comes with a tiny Polaroid picture they take of your party. I thought this place would only offer fruity cocktails but was surprised to see they had drinks with Japanese whiskey and mocktails. All of the drinks were super cute and you get complimentary corn nuts by request. Some of our friends ordered the afternoon tea sampler but other than that, there aren't a lot of option for food, especially since we were there later in the evening. The space is very pink and cute! We decided to spend the Saturday in the World of Sanrio. Hit up the Gudetama cafe as well as the Hello Kitty Grand Cafe, Ate at Gudetama and then came to Hello Kitty Grand Cafe for deserts and snacks. The line at Hello Kitty was much longer than Gudetama, but was not too bad, maybe 35-40 minutes. There are two part to the Cafe, a front area where you can get snacks, drinks and souvenirs where you can just walk up, get in line and wait a bit. If you want to experience a sit down experience, you must make a reservation. It is very busy and takes a long time to get one, so plan early. It is also on the expensive side, so be prepared. My wife went once with a friend. The Irvine Spectrum is busy on the weekends, so be patient when looking for parking and waiting in line. The cafe in the front is very small, but brings you into Hello Kitty's world and allows you to get some cool pics, drinks and snacks. The Bow Room at Hello Kitty Cafe is a must-visit for any true Sanrio or Hello Kitty fan! Reservations are highly recommended, someone will come out right at your scheduled time to greet you and check you in. Before you enter, the staff will check your IDs and kindly explain the house rules: there's a one drink minimum (cocktail or mocktail) and a strict 1 hour and 15 minute time limit to keep everything running smoothly. Around halfway through, they'll check in to take any final orders--but keep in mind, due to staffing, you may only have time to enjoy one or two drinks. This is a cocktail experience, not a lounge to hang out for hours, so be mindful of the time limit. They used to offer complimentary corn nuts but we were informed they stopped offering that. :( That said, every single drink I've had here has been delicious and beautifully presented! The staff is incredibly sweet and friendly--they've even remembered me after a few visits, which is such a nice touch. If you're under 21 or bringing kids, the Bow Room offers a High Tea experience before 5pm for about $60. It includes a super cute teapot and a set of yummy desserts. We opted to swap the teapot for lemonade for my 6-year-old niece, and both of us left full and happy. Note: 18% tip is automatically included for both experiences. Super cute cafe with beautiful strawberry flavors mixed in with their drinks! The items are pricier than a normal cafe but it is expected with the iconic character being the theme of the cafe. We waited in line to order for about 20 minutes and it was around noon time on a Saturday. After you order, you then stand at the back to wait for your order to be called. The cashier answered our questions and was thorough in making sure our order was right; which probably contributed to the slightly long wait in line. We were told the apple pie we ordered would be an additional 20 minute wait, but we still ordered it because it would at least be fresh. We also got the strawberry milk (heavenly! the taste is still something I want more of!) and the strawberry smoothie. My partner loved the smoothie! We got our drinks 5 minutes later and surprisingly the apple pie was ready and included in our order! It was warm, fluffy and AMAZING!! Unfortunately, the sugar cookie we ordered also was super hard and tough to eat. I'm generally a fan of sugar cookies despite popular consensus, but this cookie was indeed very disappointing. I didn't eat more than a couple bites. All in all, depending on what time you come line up in and what you order it seems will be a deciding factor. I believe this is worth a visit at least once and do not skip on the drinks because they are made very well!! P.S Extra reservation is needed for the inside interior of the cafe in advance. The line was long on a random Thursday afternoon around 4:30pm, and it was slow moving. I think I was in line for about 45 minutes. There is no seating inside the cafe, but there are some public tables outside where you can sit and eat if desired. There is a big Astroturf lawn (with some lawn chairs and benches) in front of it as well, which is nice for kids to play and run around in while you're waiting in line. I made reservations well in advance to secure space for a party of our size (6) for afternoon tea in The Bow Room, which is limited in space and seating. The Bow Room was a cute and intimate all-pink room with gold accents, outfitted with pink velour plush seating. The afternoon tea service was $60 per person, which included your individual tea or drink choice, a glass of fresh strawberries + chocolate creme, and three tiers of savories and sweets. All the food offerings were fun and actually rather filling. Among the savories, the salmon croissant was definitely the fan favorite. The raspberry macaron was the clear winner in desserts. The service was top notch. The waitstaff were so friendly, attentive and anticipated everything we needed. My friend wanted to visit the tea room (bow room) for her birthday. I made a reservation 3 months in advance and managed to book the date/time I wanted. I received a text reminder about this reservation too. On the day off, I parked at the parking garage and walked over. Upon entering the store, I immediately purchased the tumbler I wanted because I heard the lines are usually long. I came before noon and it was still pretty empty at that time. If you made a reservation for the tea room, just wait around the white door and a server will come out to get you exactly at your reservation time. I had a table of 4 in my party and was seated right away. The tea room is cute and everything is pink! I made sure not to wear pink so I won't blend into the room. The tea room does not substitute any item and they made sure to let me know when I booked it. I must say besides this experience being cute, the food did not live up to other tea room experiences I've had. I like the savory tray (the bottom) and did not love the sweets (first two trays on top). The amount of food is too little. Other tables have children and I do think that this portion is meant for them rather than for adults. As for the tea selection, it was bland and I did not taste the pomegranate green tea at all. I actually regret adding the HK sugar cube into my tea. The desserts already too sweet and my drink is now sweet too. I did purchased a cocktail that comes with a photo that you can take home. The server asked us to stand next to each other and took the photo. It came out really nice and it is a lovely souvenir to take home. The Cutest birthday surprise breakfast ever! I absolutely loved my birthday celebration and Hello Kitty Cafe was the loveliest way to start the day. We had a reservation for 10:15 and arrived right on time! After a little bit of a wait outside the entry to the cafe, we were able to enter and take out seats inside. Can I just say, this was probably the cutest experience i've ever had?! The cafe was pink all over with a Gigantic Hello kitty bow in the back. Loved it! For eats, we had so many treats!
