I recently visited Haywire to celebrate my birthday with a friend and we had a great time! I had a Friday night reservation booked for 7:30pm and checked in right before. I did have to wait a few minutes for a table to open up, but I was sat by 7:45pm. There was an event happening outside at Legacy Hall so it was very crowded and understandably busy. The service and interior of Haywire were both highlights of the night. Every host/hostess and both of our waitresses asked about my birthday and were incredibly kind. The interior of the restaurant is also huge! It is pretty dark in there as well and the tables are close together. I liked the aesthetic but unfortunately the close tables did mean we could easily hear our neighbor's conversations all night. To begin the night, our waitress brought over a twinkly light to go on our table for my birthday, which was very fun! We started with waters to drink and chose the Meat & Cheese Board as our appetizer. This board was my favorite thing I ordered! The board contained this excellent sweet sausage, pastrami, toasted sour dough bread slices, raw honey comb, raspberry spread, candied pecans, multiple varieties of cheese including a delicious mozzarella with chives. This could be one of my new favorite charcuterie boards! For the entrees, we both went with the Double Cheeseburger. We were disappointed that the two patties could only be medium well. Unfortunately, I did not care for the smoky taste of the patties or the bacon on this burger. The bun and other toppings were okay but I was a little disappointed considering the price and the fact that meats are their specialty. The Seasoned Fries that came with the burger we both enjoyed though! For dessert, I ordered the Chipotle Chocolate Layer Cake and my friend chose the Whiskey Bread Pudding. I had been craving chocolate cake and I definitely got my fix here. The cake came along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a birthday candle, which was incredibly sweet! The bread pudding was also excellent and its buttery croissants, caramel sauce, and cinnamon sugar could be tasted in every bite. Overall, I had a fun night here at Haywire. I had to rate it only four stars because of the volume in the dining room and the burgers. However, the service was wonderful and we loved the Meat & Cheese Board and desserts. After a day of travel, I just wanted a nice meal. Got in early (still on East Coast time) and was able to get a table at the chefs counter on the second floor. Don't worry there is elevator access. It was still happy hour when I sat down so I decided to get the chips and queso. This was a great choice, can easily be split, as the queso was smoky and had a good flavor. I then moved on to the wedge salad which was basically a small head of lettuce. But that was also great. Slightly sweet with the dressing helped the flavor of the bacon and blue cheese. And naturally I had to get a steak. I got a NY Strip cooked medium rare (as to the chefs recommendation) and it was melt in your mouth perfect. Capped that with the Brussel sprouts which had a slightly tangy flavor with some smoky and sweetness. Haywire is one of our favorite restaurants, upscale home cooking with a Texas flare. Being, regulars we have a 2 restaurant hacks that we use here all the time that may be helpful. First of all, their pork chop is humongous. Compared to the steaks it is a giant hunk of meat that my wife and I often split. Order an extra side and you are good to go. Secondly, this hack is around the line that is normally on the first floor. The restaurant actually has three levels with patios on each level. Usually when there's a line at the hostess stand on the first floor, you can always go around them and head up to the second floor and get on a waiting list or talk to the host stand on that floor. You can also go straight up to the third floor as they have a lot of seating there on the patio that is first come first served with full dinner service. Plus upstairs, you can listen to live music that is often playing in the Lexus music box. read more

It's a three-story building that offers something different on every floor! The food was good! The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery and the chicken was perfectly fried! The serving size is huge so I definitely had leftovers for the next day! The Elk tacos were a little lackluster for me. They reminded me of ground beef tacos, more than anything exotic. Went here early on a Saturday in March 2026 and did the Cowgirl menu which is a small steak, Caesar salad, fries, and lemon drop (or dirty martini) for 30. The parking they have a free parking garage but be prepared from where you park you might have to walk a few minutes so have comfortable shoes or let someone drop you off and then they park. The wait was about 30 minutes on a Saturday night. They also have music on Sat nights in the center this is in so it was a bit loud in the area seated but they are other areas where you wont hear the music. The food I found the steak to be very lack luster I have had much better steak from chain places they could improve in this area, the fries and caesar salad was good (I like the homemade dressing they had it was diff than normal caesar dressing) . The drinks were not done well we had 2 lemon drops but my daughter was given a dirty martini instead and my lemon drop was way too strong hardly no lemon taste in it and I like balanced drinks ....the bar needs more bartenders /help and I guess they did the best they could do. The server he was wonderful and attentive so no worries there. Overall because the food was mediocre I would not return. I recommend doing a reservation as well read more

Had a great experience the other week at Haywire. Made reservations online and they were pretty flexible with changing the time on a Saturday evening. We arrived a little after our reservation and were sat promptly. Once our waitress came around we got our Fried Green Tomatoes promptly. They were amazing! Seasoned to perfection. We've eaten at the Haywire in uptown Dallas and already knew that the food at Haywire was good. We were here celebrating our daughter's college graduation so this was around lunch time. We started off with some appetizers and started to do some day drankin'. The cocktails were spot on, especially the gimlet. I ordered the burger and the wife order the 6oz filet mignon and that tasted amazing. It had a perfect cook on it. I highly recommend that. This place has an upstairs and I think a rooftop. The manager came by our table to check on us a couple of times and told us to check out the top floor when we're done. I wished I had known about it prior or else I would have asked to sit up there. Went to Haywire to celebrate work anniversary (not the first time) only to find out that they cross contaminate their seafood with regular foods. I have a severe shellfish allergy and the waitress was dismissive and seemed to be in a hurry. I wasn't offered another way for food to be prepared just don't order any fried foods. The appetizer list is almost all fried food. I have been to a lot of high end restaurants that offer to fix my order separately to accommodate my allergy. It was very disappointing that this was not even an option. Guess this will not be my top choice again. read more

A few friends and myself went to Haywire for their cowgirl dinner, amazing concept! We've bee trying different girl dinners around Dallas and this was a great one! First, we went on Friday without a reservation and it was absolutely packed, which we expected. When you arrive, the 1st and 3rd floor are open seating, and the 3rd floor was such a vibe! The staff was very nice, we were taking photos of course and they were very kind, offered us drinks, and answered our questions about the seating situation. We ended up waiting for our table for about an hour which really wasn't terrible as we took photos and had drinks on the balcony. We ended up sitting on the covered patio next to the food court and they did have live music in the courtyard, which tbh was very loud and not my favorite part of the night, so if that sort of thing bothers you, request to sit indoors, but it ended up being fun! Our server's name was Tony and he was fantastic! He was very nice and accommodating, made sure everything came out to our liking, and was a total joy! He even recommended this special lemon butter sauce that is typically served with a pasta dish, but we dipped our steaks in it and it was game changing! The drinks, great, the Caesar salad, yummy with some smokiness, the fries, awesome, and we even got a shrimp appetizer and got more at the end it was that good! The pros of the business are location (inside of Legacy West right next to legacy hall), the ambiance is both casual & intimate chic giving the option to dress up or down, and the food is good. I ordered the Rose 75 to drink, modern twist on a French 75 and I do have to say it was good. For dinner I ordered the chicken fried chicken which came with mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. YUM. The chicken was nicely battered and seasoned with this peppery taste to it. The sides were also good, not overly seasoned which balanced out the dish. The cons are that once it's busy it can take forever for the staff to direct you to your table. Also know that service will be slower & if you're with a party of 5 or more, at least a third of the table won't get everything they've ordered. read more

We arrived at happy hr time and decided to go with that menu. I ordered mini elk tacos, Queso dip, fried green tomatoes and French fries, for drinks frozen Long Island teas and bourbon smash. The sliders were sold out. The Time it took to bring food , drinks, and a glass of water was ridiculous. So slow!!! Food was good but very cold. Had a wonderful business lunch here the other day. Service was excellent and food was very good. Stopped by here per our client's request. Large restaurant with a hip cowboy feel, plenty of seating and good vibe. Everyone else ordered a salad with protein and all seem to enjoyed it. I ordered the redfish dish which was highly recommended. It came with shellfish on top, with mashed potato, and a little salad. All were very tasty.
