I was real hyped up reading the reviews about this place. But I don't know my experience here wasn't all that I had hoped it would be. First of the most off putting part of it was the noise level. It was so loud I could hardly hear my friend talking across the table. I could hear nearly 100 different conversations throughout the whole the whole restaurant. And then add music to that too. Maybe it's usually like that and it doesn't bother others, or maybe not? The food was great, honestly the flavors were incredible. My friend ordered biscuits & gravy - 10/10. My meal, visually was lacking, it was oddly thin for fried chicken. It was very light in color, so not very crispy but not too soft either. But I would order it again based on taste. It was 100% on the mark for flavor and the "chicken and waffles" concept. Lastly the service was good, but we ordered some of their famous cinnamon rolls to-go (Not pictured) we'd never been here before so we really didn't know what to expect. The cinnamon rolls were MASSIVE (and expensive). We didn't even think to ask how much they were and were shocked when we got the bill. Even more shocking the cinnamon rolls themselves were so big 1 of them could've fed 4 people. It ended up being such a waste of money because no way could we eat all 4 (enough for 16pl) before they went bad. A simple "heads up these are huge" would've been suuuper helpful. They were good, but really really sweet. A couple bites was more than enough for me. The decor and set up was cute. Kind of like a fun and cool, modern diner vibe. Easy and accessible (and free) parking. Overall I'd come back and try some other things. read more

Came in for a nice sit down breakfast with my boyfriend after a long two weeks of traveling. This place had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We were quickly greeted by the host who seemed miffed that we wanted a booth. Once settled we were surprised by how loud the music was for a weekday breakfast. Eventually we were given menus to peruse. Which we were given ample time to do because our server was unable to take our orders as her tablet had stopped working. That was the last we saw of her. We were able to order coffee and have that delivered to our table, it was bad, somehow burnt AND watery? After sitting at our table for another 20 minutes in the loud music being ignored by the staff with bad coffee sitting untouched between the two of us we decided to just leave. It wasn't worth it. We paid for the coffees that we left untouched at the table and left without any acknowledgement from the staff. read more

From start to finish, it was an outstanding first visit to hashtag! Plenty of on-site parking made the initial part of the experience positive, and we didn't have to wait for a table for a mid-Saturday breakfast/brunch. The surroundings are warm and cozy, with vibrant colors and artwork throughout the property. Our server, Olivia, was excellent, full of positive energy, and truly knew the menu for these first-timers who didn't know the options. The menu is both versatile and fun, with so many options to select from. Via Olivia's recommendation, I ordered the "BLTEA'wich," which was spectacular, a combination of applewood smoked bacon, greens, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, avocado, and aioli on sourdough bread. It was a unique combination, particularly the scrambled eggs on a sandwich. I loved the accompanying hashbrowns too! I would order it again! My Better Half ordered the Chiloquies, and she loved it! We were so hopeful after reading the reviews. WOW was the service slow.....after being seated quickly we waited and waited....finally got water and order taken....then waited and waited for coffee.... When we got our food I ordered red sauce and it was delivered when I was almost done eating and I got charged for the red sauce. Since I got it when I was basically done, they took the charge off, but I felt like I had to argue to get the credit. We ordered the breakfast burrito and chilaquiles and both were good. This is such a fun breakfast in Denver! Found this place on the list of Denver's top 21 breakfast places and it was rightfully deserved. The food, vibe, and service was a 10/10! The food was fantastic, we had the famous small hashtag cake ( pancake), Knife & Fork Smoked Salmon Toast, Avocado toast, and El Jefe Bowl. Everything was so tasty , the hashtag pancake size small is bigger the plate. It's light and fluffy and a must try. I really the POG juice I ordered, it was so refreshing. That said, the mandatory 6% charge added to every bill -- 5% for staff and 1% for an unclear purpose -- combined with a default tip starting at 22% (with 20% as the "low" option and 25% as the high) feels excessive. Probably the worst meal I've had in Denver. To begin, I had eggs bacon and hash browns. Nothing fancy. The presentation and serving size amounted to a Denny's breakfast but it cost $14.25. My wife got avocado toast which was basically a couple of slices of avocado dropped on untoasted bread. The end of the meal the check came with a 5% culinary contribution (fee) and a 1% embif fee (whatever that is). Then the bill added those fees on top of the food charges and applied a state tax to those fees. So you get taxed on being forced to pay the staff wages with the 5% charge. Then the payment device pre-selects 22% for the tip. So they expect 27% tip. Having read HashTag responses to other reviews, there is always some excuse like not enough servers or cooks. It is amazing how businesses get away with serving an overpriced garbage product and force the customer to pay the kitchen wages - that belongs to the owner. What's next? Are we going to be charged a fee to use a knife and fork -- maybe a cleaning fee? A fee for napkins? A fee for a seat with cushions? How about a fee just to open the front door and letting the cold air in? The overpriced and small portions of food. The lazy service. The charges passed to the customer... all result in one final outcome. Do not patronize Troy Guard restaurants. We could've gone to Dennys and paid half the price and gotten better food and service. This was beyond disappointing and I will make it my mission to discourage all friends and family from ever patronizing a Troy Guard restaurant. I will be filing complaints with BBB and the state AG for the egregious use of "fees" and then taxing the customer on fees. Something isn't right. Too many businesses are getting away with making the customer pay the business owners requirement to pay a living wage. read more

This used to be one of the best brunch restaurants in town - no more. I ordered the avocado toast, it used to come with mashed and seasoned avocados over multi grain toast with eggs and mixed greens. Today, it was simply a piece of toast with sliced avocado and eggs on top with a few tomatoes. My daughter ordered the sea salt, chocolate chip pancake, which used to be a light a fluffy chocolate chip pancake pancake with sea salt and extra chocolate chips on top, today it was a brick with some chocolate chips sprinkled on top. It's so disappointing that one of my favorite places has fallen so far. By the way, the prices still reflect what the restaurant used to be, it's definitely worth it now. read more

Enjoyed breakfast here when visiting Denver on the recommendation of our air bnb host. My friend and I split the mini hot cake trio and a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit! It hits the spot if you're looking for classic guilty pleasure breakfast foods. I usually don't like foods that are very sweet so splitting the hot cake trio was more than enough for me. The toppings are delicious but will definitely give you your fill of sugar for the day. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and our server was very attentive and even let us switch seats so the sun wasn't in our faces. Would highly reccomend checking it out! I was excited to try a new place and met with 2 of my friends on a Sunday morning. Let's start with the positive. The Big Cast Iron Cinnamon Roll was very tasty. We all enjoyed it a lot. I had the Woke n Bake Skillet, clever name. It was very tasty. The eggs were a little over done, but very good. Once we finally were able to order, the food came out quickly. Almost too quickly to believe anything was made fresh. The service was excruciatingly slow. We were at a table for at least 15 minutes before we finally asked the hosts if we could get some water. Apparently, we had not even been assigned a server so not sure what would have happened if we hadn't asked. The attitude of the female host was poor at best. The male host at least tried to apologize and help us and the server we did eventually get was very nice. My friend ordered the veggie Benedict and one of the eggs was so underdone the whites were running across her plate. She asked for it to be cooked a little more. After the server left to out, I'm the order for one pouched egg, I said you know it will be over cooked, she agrees. Before she got the correctly cooked egg, we had completely finishing eating and it was so over cooked it was essentially a hard boiled. Overall, not a great first impression. Going to preface this review with the fact that we eat here almost every weekend even though we live more than 30 mins away. The food is great but the service is exceptional which is what keeps us coming back. Eva, Byron, Cayden are a few of the amazing staff. Even being regulars, we know weekends are busy and don't mind waiting when there is a wait. The mimosas are on point! We've worked our way through the menu- one thing I didn't enjoy was the premade waffles which I found out today they now make them in house which was sooo much better. My delivery driver called me to try to sort it out but the GM refused to offer any assistance and asked "who is going to pay for it?" This place sucks. Horrible experience. We arrived during a regular Wednesday morning around 10. Not very busy at all, and after waiting a minute to be greeted, the host had an attitude when we asked to be seated at a booth. Upon being seated we waited a fair amount of time to have our menus brought, no big deal. What happened after that is the real issue- Server came back and took our orders for drinks- two coffees . She came back after a long wait with two mugs of coffee that were basically horrid. Burnt to all hell and bitter as can be. Not her fault, but nevertheless, they served it to us. She attempted to take our breakfast order only to see her tablet had died- she says oops I'll be right back... That was the last we saw of her. Over the next Eternity, I watched as she tended to another table, talked with the host, greeted a big party that entered (probably seeing dollar signs for tips) and proceeded to completely ignore us while she went along organizing tables together for the other party. Isn't that the host's job? Regardless, we were ignored altogether. It was at that point we had had enough, put a few dollars on the table for the terrible coffee we didn't drink , and left. We will NEVER be back. And I suggest you don't go there unless you want to waste your time. read more

Waiting for a friend to fly into Denver I had a few hours to kill. I pulled up Yelp and it led me here for this breakfast spot. The entire area was pretty dead but the moment you walked inside this diner it was lively. All sorts of people from older folks to college kids having mimosas were scattered around. It was the perfect hustle and bustle for a Thursday breakfast. I bet this place is crazy on a weekend for brunch. I ordered a latte and it was delicious. It came in my favorite shaped mug too which I loved. The chilaquiles were a hit! It was messy, which was to be expected but definitely a fork situation. I don't know how to describe the seasoning on the chips but it was so delicious with a bit of a kick. My husband ordered the pork hash and said it was great. Tucked in a corner of the Eastbridge center it's a fun spot. Chic and cutesy. We arrived a little before 8am and didn't have to wait. Lots of staff on hand so that was cool. Everyone was fast! Our kids like the waffle and pancakes comes with whipped cream and sprinkles with a side of hash brown and fruit plus a drink. We ordered the avocado toast and french toast sandwich. We drive hither and yon for some of the best breakfasts. Then every now and again, we remember those special places that are two minutes away. Hashtag is one of those. Haven't been in awhile (maybe even BC -- before Covid) so it felt like an adventure. Woke up bright and early on this Saturday morning to avoid the rush. Our server was delightful -- helpful, and funny and very quick with the coffee refills! The menu is enticing and has something for everyone. We chose the French'wich and the California Omelette. Yummy creations in and of themselves, then added a Caramel Apple Hot Cake for the sweet we all need in the morning. It was fantastic. It was okay, I pushed the salad off and ate the eggs with the sweet potatoes. I think any vegetable lover would've been in heaven. Its a real farm to table vibe, I'm just picky and would've been full with one egg and a couple strawberries. I also had the Smokey Bloody, a regular Coffee & an apple juice. It wasn't bad, nothing special. Overall I would say this place was fine, good for groups & kids but not as good as our old faithful, Snooze.
