Dined in at Hangover East on Parsons Ave and had an enjoyable breakfast with my brother. COVID-19 protocols were well maintained and felt very comfortable dining in. Tables were well spaced and servers were masked. Sanitizer was available on every table. My brother is a pancake freak and ordered the struggling to get up (2 large buttermilk pancakes). He said they were delicious. They looked light and fluffy and definitely a meal all by itself. I ordered the chicken and waffles. When the meal was delivered I was a little disappointed as it looked like regular chicken fingers on top of my waffle. BUT it was not! The chicken was a boneless chicken breast nicely breaded in a nicely seasoned Panko breadcrumb which provided a nice crunch and great flavor. There was a hint of heat maybe cayenne which was just the right amount. The waffle was flavorful-as well. 4 stars was because the food could have been hotter. The butter that I spread on my waffle didn't even melt. I like hot off the skillet/waffle iron meal. All in all a very good breakfast and great service. read more

It's early afternoon and went out for breakfast at Hangover Easy. They can pack a lot of people into the little space. Ordered the Chicken and Chorizo Skillet. It's a nicely grilled portion of bite sized chicken and chorizo with grilled green peppers, tomatoes and onions. Add some fried potatoes with the skins still on them. OMG!!! Top that with cheese and two eggs. Add some homemade wheat toast and you have a phenomenal meal. Add in the great service provided by Trent our server. I can easily see how this is a mainstay in this area. We stopped here for a quick-ish breakfast on our way out of town. It's located in the Ohio State Campus. Parking was a bit of an issue. We ended up paying $8.50 for an hour and change to park in a garage that was maybe a 3 minute walk from the restaurant. Now to the food: their menu has an iced French toast latte on it. I asked the server if they could make it hot and they said no problem. However, as you can see in the picture, it's coffee with French toast syrup added. Granted, the description of the drink says coffee, but they call it a latte. The manager heard me talking to the server about it and agreed that the title is a bit of a misnomer. It was my least favorite thing that I ordered, but to be fair, I DID order off of the menu. Smothered n' covered was DELICIOUS! It seemed like it had been sitting for a bit before they served it, but it was so tasty I didn't care. The chicken was so wonderfully flavored, juicy, and crunchtastic. The real start is the "hoemade" chicken chorizo gravy. So. So. Good. Also, the pickles were a delicious addition. Chicken chorizo skillet: exactly what it sounds like. The flavors were so nice and the textural mix with the grilled chicken and the chicken chorizo was perfect. The biscuit that came with it was a bit burned on the bottom, but fluffy nonetheless. Average brunch food. We visited HangOverEasy on a Saturday morning, and it was sufficiently busy such that we needed to wait about a half hour for a table. Comic book pages printed in a larger size hang on the walls and there were a number of Christmas decorations. There were two TVs placed such that many patrons would be able to watch. I ordered A Real Fungi omelette with sourdough toast. The omelette was decent, but not something I would order again. The sourdough flavor did not really come through in the toast. Overall, I think HangOverEasy would be acceptable in a pinch, but there are better options in Columbus. read more

The counter service isn't available currently. We got a table. The waitress was very nice and very quick. The morning cocktails are cheap! My sister got a Bloody Mary and I got a mimosa. The waitress recommended the mimosa with pineapple and orange. It was yummy! My sister enjoyed her bloody as well. I got the chicken and waffles and she got the corned beef hash and we shared. Can't say much about this place since I got carry out. I saw the rave reviews and how busy it was and thought it would be a good idea. We were in town visiting for the day. HOE has a special place in my heart for breakfast. As an OSU alum, I've been frequenting the two Columbus locations for years now. The OTE staff makes the absolute most of the space they have to get patrons in and out while still giving the best possible experience. The servers are always extremely friendly and, despite the craziness that comes with a weekend trip, always are efficient. The frog eyes are a personal favorite and I love to get the HOE fries with peppers and onions. They never disappoint! Ps. Please bring back the breakfast quesadilla!!! read more

Great breakfast spot. Upon arrival on a Wednesday morning, we were promptly seated and it wasn't very busy. The service was fast and friendly. Looking at the menu, they offer all the classic, but with funny names, like "The walk of shame" and "Buttery nipples". I went with frog eyes, which is biscuits and gravy. My son requested chicken and waffles, which didn't have a funny name, unfortunately. A while later, our food was delivered, hot and fresh. My chicken and waffles came with two sunnyside up eggs, which didn't look like frog eyes. But maybe that's a good thing? We also requested some home fries. Breakfast was delicious. My biscuits and gravy were excellent - the biscuits were very tasty. I found the flavor of the gravy to be lacking. It could've used some chunks of spicy sausage in it, but overall, it was very good and I'd order it again. My son liked his chicken and waffles. Came here on an early Sunday afternoon to have brunch with a friend. It was crazy busy, and calling ahead for a reservation is highly recommended. We were able to be seated right away. It was so packed inside, so it was hard to appreciate the ambiance. The brunch cocktails were very reasonably priced and were tasty. My highlight of all the food was the biscuits. We have been to Hangover Easy a few times. We noticed at our last visit, that they're pretty understaffed. However, those that are staffed and present and offering their best customer service! Thank you! My husband and I always get a Bloody Mary while we're here. They're pretty good! While they do not have a kid's menu, they do allow you to order items a la carte which ends up being pretty reasonable regarding cost and food not being wasted. Our daughter had a pancake and bacon with our last visit and enjoyed every bite. My husband ordered the Sausage Skillet which he really enjoyed too. I ordered The Dirty - basically a big breakfast burrito. While I enjoyed the flavors of the burrito, it was pretty cold which took away from me being able to enjoy the burrito. Either way, we'll continue to enjoy Hangover Easy whenever we get a chance to head towards campus! read more

Slightly pricey but also very standard for the area and the food is good quality. Drinks are inconsistent but always boozy. Driving through Columbus and came across Hang Over Easy. Though we were told there'd be a 20 minute wait for 2, reality was closer to 10. The menu makes a lot more sense when you figure out that the HOE in many of the items is short for Hang Over Easy (and that was my duh moment.) The spot was jammed and our server seemed to have more than his share of tables, but once we ordered, the food was out in no more than five minutes. Fantastic! My HOE Benny was delicious. Eggs were perfectly over medium with a nice kick from the pico. Muffin was nicely toasted and potatoes were good. My wife had equally good things to say about her skillet. Average breakfast. I had an egg-white omelette, in which the veggies were undercooked. They have very few veggie options for omelettes, and overall everything is pretty basic. I ordered turkey sausage patties and asked for them to be cooked crispy/hard. They came out as they had only been steamed. I sent them back and didn't get a much better result the second time either. The thing that was most disappointing though was that the place overall seemed dirty. Whoever is in charge of the maintenance of the location, should do a better job keeping the place clean.
