I absolutely LOVED this place it is so darn cute inside and the staff is so high energy and kind you just feel happy and energized when you enter. It's such a fun vibe for a comfort food place. Speaking of the food it is AMAZING the little cups of warm tomato soup are a wonderful addition. I highly recommend stopping in if you get the chance. read more

We grabbed a quick bite with the kiddo at The Grilled Cheese Gallery downtown! They take grilled cheese to another level. We tried one with Mac & cheese, chicken, chipotle sauce and one with Brie, bacon, raspberry & balsamic glaze. They were both delicious and the people there were super friendly! Kids Mac & cheese (not picture) was a really good portion and equally good! The homemade hibiscus lemonade? was good as well! The atmosphere is cool and I would definitely recommend this place to grilled cheese lovers and families! read more

After seeing high reviews on Yelp and getting a personal recommendation from my friend, I was excited to try this place. Sadly, it did not measure up to the hype. $40 for two grilled cheese sandwiches, a cup of soup, a soda, and one order of fries. The wait was longish for "fast casual", and the food was not hot. The cheese was more congealed than gooey, and our fries were all the little pieces. :( The restaurant is small and crowded, so not a place you want to linger. I'm glad I got to try it, but there are so many good spots in St Augustine, this is a "one and done" for me. read more

The grilled cheese here is absolutely delicious, its crispy bread, gooey cheese and amazing sauce! We got the classic which was presented so cool! Heck yes! I recommend! This is a cute little spot in the middle of St Augustine ... perfect during Night of Lights as you have direct view of the lighted trees and the gazebo. Do not underestimate the type of food you'll be eating, hiding behind the simple name "grilled cheese." These sandwiches include bbq, mac and cheese, lobster! I ordered "The Duke" which is Lobster Mac and Cheese on pumpernickel. Quite satisfied with my order! It's pretty heavy so prepare to walk it off after. I wish there was more lobster, as one half of my sandwich had two chunks of lobster and the other half didn't have any lol. I'm not complaining as I walked in 5 minutes before closing. Let's start off with the service. The people taking the order were friendly and helpful. The restaurant looks like a cool off the beaten path dive bar. It had a very interesting atmosphere and decor. The food was also good, I wouldn't say it was the best grilled cheese I have ever had but still very good. I was really looking for something to make my Queen Brie stand apart or make my sandwich worth the $11 I paid for just the sandwich. The sandwich itself was lacking actual flavor and was relying on the jam too much for flavor. Again nothing wrong with the sandwich or anything to say it was bad but just didn't blow my mind. Also service was a little slow, I don't usually knock off stars for that because I realize the majority of the world is understaffed and those working are doing the best they can, but with it being during a slow period and there seemed to be quite a few ppl in the kitchen, they seemed to be moving slow specially for just preparing sandwiches. So I did knock a half of a star for that. Over all a great little sandwich joint that is definitely worth a try. read more

Elevated Grilled Cheese is an understatement. This place is great. We got a GCG and the one with bacon and ribeye. The fries were great too. Each sandwich came with dippers of tomato soup. The place was well run, quick service, personable service, and moving like a well oiled machine. Great value compared to the cost of most places his day and age. Will be back every time we are back in St Augustine. 10/10 read more

Willy and The Temptations know how to make a grilled cheese! This place is so darn good. I can't have gluten and so I'm forced to eat the GF which usually automatically makes a meal 25% worse but these guys know how to disguise the boring bread. OMG this place was incredible. Walking around downtown after touring both the distillery and winery in one morning we knew we needed to eat an early lunch. We found this restaurant as a small opening on the side of the main downtown street and I'm so glad we did. This place is small on the inside but if you can get a seat and stay I highly suggest. The music is great and the workers are very into it. The grilled cheeses we got were great and very filling, especially the Chesterfield. It could have easily fed two people. The only thing I would say is the menu says each sandwich comes with a side of soup but it was really more like a cup of marinara sauce. Still very good, was just looking forward to tomato soup. read more

There are many places to eat downtown and many feature their own unique niche in order to stand out. I think you can figure out what the specialty is in this place. You may not realize, however, they also make a great salad and offer poutine, which is a dish consisting of french fries, gravy, cheese, and may include a variety of other assorted goodies. We sampled the Hot Chick salad and the The Queen Brie sandwich, both of which were delicious. The tomato soup comes in dipping size with the sandwiches but I opted to upgrade to a cup side. If you only want to dip, the dipper is enough. The soup is definitely a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich, enhancing both into new levels of flavor. The salad was a surprise hit, filled with little pieces of panko crusted chicken that were excellent. The inside is narrow and tight and I wouldn't want to dine in if it was crowded. There is also limited seating at the counter. It took quite a while to receive our food and appears they cook one order at a time. Still, the food was worth the wait. We'll be back in the future to sample some of the other menu items, all of which sound delicious! read more

A very good, if a little expensive, grilled cheese place. It's probably the best grilled cheese themed restaurant I've ever eaten at, but it's definitely not gonna fill you up if you're starving. Order: A Night in Amsterdam, and The Country Boy About: $25 We were down in Saint Augustine, visiting a friend and looking for a place to eat and this restaurant jumped out at us. In the last few years, it seems like grilled cheese restaurants have become the cool thing to do, but so far I honestly haven't liked many of them. It's probably because I can make a great grilled cheese sandwich at home pretty easily. Despite that trend, we decided to give this place a try and were honestly pleasantly surprised. It's Saint Augustine so like almost every restaurant there it's a little overpriced and the decor leaves a little bit to be desired but we're honestly here for the food and it was spot on. My wife and I split the country boy, pulled pork barbecue with macaroni and cheese, and the Night in Amsterdam, which is a traditional grilled cheese, just with really good cheese. The quality is honestly exceptional, all of the cheese tasted like it was high quality and not pre-packaged kraft cheese, and even the pulled pork in the barbecue sandwich was good. My only two complaints are that it's a little expensive and it's not a ton of food. It's a great lunch-size portion, but I would need at least two of these for dinner. All in all, I don't like that many restaurants in Saint Augustine, so this one is definitely going to make the list to visit again next time we're there. read more

This place is so understaffed and unprofessional. When we ordered the woman skipped past the tip page, then loudly said "oh I skipped the tip page- will you?" We didn't have cash to tip (and it's a walk up counter) so we sat down. We ordered at 12:09 and as of 1:30, we still haven't gotten our food, despite asking and seeing multiple parties who ordered after us be served. After asking again and being promised we were next, 3 more tables were served. They never apologized, or explained that it would be a long wait even when we ordered. One of the 3 employees was constantly talking on his cell phone and walking outside to talk on the phone. The food looks good but it's just insane that it takes well over an hour and a half to get 2 grilled cheeses. Especially for the cost. I can only assume that she "lost" our order after we couldn't tip. read more

Fun vibe and super creative options on grilled cheese, Mac n cheese grilled cheese, and soft serve desserts. Oh, and poutine - can't find that in too many places! All five of us opted for the Mac n cheese version and it did not disappoint! Loved the pulled pork n bbq option. The ice cream cookie sandwich was solid (literally frozen solid), but the soft serve in the two cones we tried seemed a little off. No matter. Very friendly service - our guy even comped us a couple of free waters. Definitely worth a visit. read more

I was in downtown St. Augustine running some errands and thought to myself, "self, you're hungry, you deserve some food." So I walked down to the Grilled Cheese Gallery. Why? Because I've been meaning to try this place. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but when I walked in, it was a pretty tiny place. They had some counter seating and a handful of tables inside. Still not feeling super comfy sitting inside, I opted to order and take my meal to-go. I checked out their menu (FYI they have a LARGE menu outside). After looking it over with my sister, we opted to each order a sandwich and then split, so we could try eachother's. I mean sharing is caring, right?!? I opted for the Trail Boss and my sister opted for the GQ. I opted to substitute the white bread for sourdough (it's an upcharge, that I wasn't aware of), and my sister opted for sourdough versus pumpernickel. I will say I was a bit taken back that my sandwich came to $14.59 before tax, not including any type of side. The woman at the counter warned us before we ordered, that due to a large party ahead of us, our order would take about 20 minutes. She said we could wait outside or look around and she'd come out and bring our food to us. We opted to stand outside. Roughly 20 minutes later, our food was ready, packaged up in styrofoam containers. Since it felt like it was about 800 degrees outside, we decided to bring our food back to the car to eat, so we could enjoy it in some air conditioning. I opened my container up and looked at the sandwich, it looked good and smelled good. Please note, messy sandwiches like these would have been a better idea to eat them at a table, versus a car, but when in Rome, right? I gave my sister half of my sandwich and she gave me half of her's. The Trail Boss was stuffed with mac and cheese, lots of other cheese, BBQ sauce, and some meat. It was savory, it was messy, it was good. Was it $15 good? I'm still on the fence about that. The GQ was good, I liked the mix of tangy goat cheese, the saltiness of the prosciutto, and the crunch of the tomatoes. Pros: -Variety of sandwich options and poutine -Friendly staff -Good sandwiches Cons: -Price -For the price you have to order a side like fries separately -Lack of outdoor seating Tips: If you're with a few people and not sure what sandwich to get, go halfsies. read more

Such a cute little spot. Any of the grilled cheeses can be made gluten free and there are a lot of fun choices. I ate the Queen Brie with house made raspberry jam. It was delightful. They also have salads and poutine options. The service was great and the food comes out quick. It was a perfect quick lunch spot. read more

First off, I do NOT like grilled cheese sandwiches. I know, I'm weird. I only went in because my wife likes them. And gosh, am I glad we did. Their grilled cheese sandwiches have converted me, and I have now seen the light. My wife had the Classic Sandwich, I had the Duchess Sandwich, and my son had the kid's Mac n Cheese. We basically traded sandwiches after every bite because they were both so good, but if I had to choose which one I liked better, I would give the nod to the Duchess Sandwich. If you like, or don't like grilled cheese sandwiches like me, go in and get you some yummy eats. Your taste buds will thank you. =) read more

This place was a gem! We ventured past it while walking to George St. Space - small, quaint, great artwork Ambiance - great throwback music, reminds me of a small neighborhood bar in Paris, just darker inside. Service - super friendly, we dined at 7:30 pm and service was great Food - we started with the The Warm Goat Cheese Salad...what a joy! The greens were super fresh, the 2 balls of goat cheese were perfectly cooked (soft on the inside and lightly breaded and crunchy on the outside), the dressing was a nice balsamic vinaigrette with hints of fresh herbs! The Night in Amsterdam Sandwich and The Loaded Steak Melt were YUMMY! Nice blend of cheeses, shaved prime Rib, caramelized onions, perfectly toasted bread..the side sauces were a nice touch. We plan on returning when we visit St. Augustine's again for sure! read more

Unfortunately the wedding cake was so disappointing it was pre-sliced and wrapped in the case, it was very cold and heavy, the filling was very thin but made the layers soggy like it had been made a few days earlier and sat and it had very little icing - this was so disappointing especially after going out of our way to get here and fighting the St. Augustine traffic. I'd like to try something from their sandwich menu and maybe a loaf of their fresh baked bread but definitely will avoid anything out of the dessert case...
