    Medianoche Sandwich

This cute little shop is located right off St George street on one of the little side streets. They had empanadas and croquettas in a premade display, but our sandwiches were made fresh after we ordered! We were immediately greeted after walking in and the food was walked out to us after it was made. All the drinks were canned or bottled. I had a pineapple soda that was a little sweeter than what I wanted, but still delicious! My cousin ordered fries for the table and they were good. My medianoche was fresh and delicious!

THE RESTAURANT: Very clean! THE FOOD: The food is very authentic Cuban food, as far as we can tell. It was so good we came back a second time a day later for lunch!. We got a chicken empanada & a beef empanada. They were delicious! Then we got a guava pastry.which I think was a special treat! ! We also got the flan. It was perfect without being too eggy. For drinks, my husband had the Malta India & a Cuban Coffee. I hag a cafe con Lache. All three were great! THE SERVICE: Service here is always with a smile & fast!

We were walking around and wanted a lil snack, nothing crazy just a lil bite and this place perfectly fit the bill! In the hot case was empanadas, croquettas, churros, guava pastries, all kind of goodies! We tried the beef empanadas, churro, pressed ham and cheese.... yum! Every thing tasted good, it was just enough to get us to dinner time, daughter loved the churro. Ill have to try their cafe con leche next time :)

Brought home delicious beef empanadas, medianoche sandwich and churros!

I am not Cuban but lived in Tampa for 19 years and was spoiled with some of the best Cuban cuisine in FL! After moving to N FL , it was a struggle finding any authentic Spanish food! Thankfully a few years ago we came across The Cuban Cafe and Bakery in St. Augustine! As you walk through the quaint outdoor seating area, you are filled with the aroma of fresh Cuban coffee! Once inside the cozy cafe you are greeted with smiles and wonderful Spanish music. The sandwiches, bakery goods and empanadas are always wonderful!

We were in Florida and of course you want to get Cuban coffee. When we saw this place, we thought it was great. We went in for a Cuban coffee, and it truly was not the same. I haven't had enough Cuban coffee, but the ones that I had were very, very, very good and this one just taste like a normal latte. The store was nice. They had some tables outside the and inside and it's decorated all cute but just not enough for me to have another coffee here.

For your morning wake up @10am (open). I was going to have an empanada to compare it to the Columbia but after seeing cases of cheese empanadas sitting outside from a delivery that was left without anyone around @9am I decide on something that I can watch them make. I have had Cuban sandwiches in Miami and I have had Croquetas but I have never had the two put together. The Croqueta sandwich is just that and was delicious. Opens at 10am and the line out the door builds quickly.

Fresh and authentic Cuban cafe in the heart of the historic district of St. Augustine, FL!

Got the Iced caramel cafe con leche, it's the perfect mix of flavors! Delish! Also got the chicken empanada and croquette. Cute family place and would definitely be back!

This was a great stop by for a late lunch. The place is fairly simple in decor, but it certainly got the job done. As it was well after lunch, we were the only ones there and service was quick and efficient. I had a Cuba sandwich and an El Presidente beer which went well with the sandwich. The sandwich was better than average, but nothing to write home about. I'd stop in again if in need for a quick and good bite.

We were here for a drink after walking on St George street. The latte is actually very good. No green tea only black tea. They also serve food, pretty neat place!

Everything is thoughtfully designed to create a cozy, welcoming environment, but the real highlight is, of course, the capybaras! Getting to observe and gently interact with these calm, friendly animals made the visit feel truly special and unlike anything else in the area. The staff was wonderful as well--kind, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals and guest experience. They made sure we felt comfortable, explained everything clearly, and helped make my wife's birthday feel extra special. What really sets the Capybara Café apart is how peaceful and joyful the whole experience is. It's not just a café visit--it's a memory you'll talk about long after you leave. We rolled in on a ridiculously hot day just 15 minutes before their 3:00 PM closing time. We were celebrating my sister, so we ordered a bunch of fun drinks and sheepishly asked if it was okay to just finish them while they closed up. They didn't just say it was fine--they made us feel completely at home! Here is why you absolutely must stop in if you are in the area: The Drinks: We had a blast tasting everyone's orders. My Lavender Lemonade was completely on the money--exactly what I needed on a sweltering day! The Amazing Staff: Ashlynn was an absolute doll. She was so sweet and accommodating, even at the very end of her shift. Above-and-Beyond Hospitality: The owner, Mike, is simply awesome. He came over to chat, found out we were celebrating my sister, and hooked her up with a free refill! But the magic didn't stop there. We mentioned we were having a party for my sister later, and Mike went out of his way to give us bagels and this marvelous butter-flavored cream cheese that was literally to die for! He even packed up some extra so we'd have plenty for our bagels later. I cannot wait to come back to St. Augustine just to stop by this wonderful place again. I absolutely love it here. Please make sure you add it to your itinerary (just remember they close at 3 PM!).
