We saw more than one of these while walking around downtown. Looked good, and how can you go wrong with ice cream. Cut place inside, but it was small and not necessarily where you'd go in to sit down and relax, but more of a pick up some ice cream and keep walking kinda place. The worst tasting ice cream - omg, overpriced and tastes like water. The cone was still old and stale.

I like that this place has different things, not just macaroons. They also have macaroon ice cream. I got a small bag and I was only able to try 3 of them before they went bad (I left them in the car). But out of the 3 that I tried, the rose one was amazing! The pistachio, not so much. I don't like the packaging because they don't close it for you so it's just a plastic bag that stays open. So you have to eat it when you buy it or risk leaving it open. But from the pieces I tried, I would come back here and maybe try different macaroons. read more

I really love a good macaron & although this shop has several flavors that look nice in the case, they're cold when handed to u & texture & flavor wasn't great. The coffee flavor was probably best. Key lime was not good. Mango had a bit of a soggy outer crust. For 4 we spent approx $14-16. Love that they're gluten free. They even offer ice cream sandwich made w/larger macarons or a full layer cake w/large macarons as the cake layer. Love that idea. The shop location is excellent. Went here for croissants and coffee for breakfast. We were told the croissants were baked the day of. They looked suspiciously like the ones in the case the day before when we scoped it out. They were soft and not good. I have worked at a bakery before. The bakery I worked at and my boss and I made everything from scratch besides the croissants which were frozen and thawed and rose and were still baked every day. Trader Joe's frozen croissants are better than what I bought this morning. The coffee was good and fresh and hot. The clerk was nice but being nice doesn't make up for stale pastries. I'm sure they had no say in the matter, but most of the shops down here are tourist traps and don't need repeat business. There are probably 20 flavors of macrons to choose from. We chose Sicilian pistachio, salted caramel, rose, Belgian chocolate, coconut, and lavender. Service was pleasant and personable! While walking the streets of St. Augustine, I stumbled upon Le Macaron French Pastries St. Augustine, and am so glad I did. Though Le Macaron French Pastries is a franchise chain with around 30 outlets, you'd never guess it. It has zero chainy feel and zero chain looks. Started by a mother and daughter who in 2009 aimed to bring the top gem of French pastries, the macaron, to America, I'd say they super succeeded. And trust me they are nothing at all like the old sugary things America had come to know before. The interior décor is uniquely charming lending a good atmosphere and comfort. It's nothing at all like you'd expect in a franchise chain place. I had several of their macarons, which come in a whole host of flavors, and as they say: "First bite is a surprise. Second bite is the flavor. Third bite is the pleasure;" all of which to me proved true. I also had some of their many other pastry treats. Quite an Americanized version of a French pastry place (I guess most places are nowadays, unless you're in a huge city). The service was friendly, I just wish they had a designated line for when you are ordering. It can be chaos in such a busy place with a lot of people walking up to the counter at the same time. Their prices are outrageous. They wanted $8 for an ice macaron (basically an ice cream sandwich with gelato) that was teeny tiny. The store front is themed beautifully and the dessert cases left nothing to the imagination- as they were filled with every color of the rainbow and looked decadent! We grabbed as many macarons as we could and left with smiling faces. While leaving, it dawned on me I forgot to order my espresso! The sales clerks helped me with that immediately and let me tell you they are extremely well trained in customer service and satisfaction- they went above and beyond for us. Feeling fancy while devouring lavender, mint, kiwi, strawberry macaroons sitting next to the Eiffel Tower! Call me "Frenchy" . This gem of a place is colorful and fru fru fun to the max. Food prices and flavor don't really matter when things hit the fan. Quick summary (TLDR) at bottom. My brother, my father and his wife, my wife, and myself of course, went late on the evening of December 28th. My brother, who is physically disabled and noticeably so, leaned against the counter, as no tables or handrails were available, and accidentally knocked over the cone size display. One cone size was destroyed, but no other damage was done to the stand or other three display cones. My brother apologized and explained what happened, as the staff didn't see the full event. The staff demanded $25, yes $25 not a mistype, for the cone that was destroyed. My brother not being the one who was paying for the treat, and not having the money, informed the staff of that and let them know who they needed to talk to. Our father tried to tell them that he would pay for it, but they wouldn't listen to him, instead continuing to go after my brother, and threatening to call the police for theft. After persisting he told them, "I'm not paying you, you need to talk to them (pointing at our father and myself) I don't have any money." at which point our father restated he was paying, and I took my brother outside to de-escalate the situation. Not but moments after one staff member followed us and continued to harass my brother. My brother offered the staff member the only thing he had, literally taking off his jacket and trying to hand it over to them. At that point a second staff member came out, to his credit he seemed to want to de-escalate the situation as well, our father then came out and asked what the problem was. Pointing out again that he already said he would pay for it. Both staff then returned to being rude and demanding that we leave, remember my brother and I already stepped out, and continued to accuse us of theft. After stating we had no intention to return the staff went inside. My father's wife and my wife paid for the things we had ordered and extra for the destroyed cone (no one seemed to notice they were with us). I understand that it's a busy night, but this kind of treatment of anyone is unacceptable. Staff was told by both my brother and father who would be paying for the accident, and on top of that my father wasn't even trying to talk them down on the ridiculous $25 price, for a display cone that cost them less than .25¢ to replace. TLDR My disabled brother accidentally destroyed a .25¢ ice cream cone on the cone size display, the staff demanded $25, my brother and father tells them that our father was the one paying, they accused my brother of theft for not paying, followed him and I out of the store when I took him out to calm the situation after our father restated he would pay, and demanded we leave when we were already outside, and our wives paid for our order and the broken cone. read more

We made our way to the shop and it was so modern and pretty inside super clean looking and the display case was stunning. Thats where it stops. The young man at the counter had no customer service skills, he never once smiled or greeted us...he simply said how many do you want.
