Old Spanish town- St. Augustine
Ray V.

Sweet Tooth Sweet Tooth I hear ya calling! Not the Netflix series but them teeth waiting to gnaw on some tastiness. Thank goodness for Kilwin's Chocolatier Shoppe being in the nearby vicinity. First off, can we just talk about St. Augustine for a second? This place is PHENOMENAL!!! Seriously, what a GEM of a town, loaded with beautiful beaches, historic landmarks and sights, with great dining, shopping, and yes... great treats! This shoppe is just off the main walkway and it caught my daughter's eye. She's a sucker for some tasty treats, and she was in the mood for something like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the PNW. And it did not disappoint. We walked out with some chocolates, caramel apples, and the wife grabbed some fudge for the hotel room later. The aroma alone immediately put in mind of what Willy Wonka's factory must of smelt like with the caramel being pulled, the peanut brittle being hardened, and the chocolate tantalizing our heart's desires. If you are in the area, I recommend a quick stop here for some pleasing treats. As always, enjoy and Happy Sugar Rushing!!!

They offer a large flavor selection. They have something for everyone in the family. I loved their rum Raisin

My husband loves loves loves ice cream. We shared a Carmel one and it was so good and we ate it so fast I didn't have time to take a picture. Personally it's a great shop and the workers are so sweet. Just personally I find it so expensive. But I guess it's worth it since it is good. Quality over quantity.

Cookies and cream on a delicious waffle cone

10/10 for suuure! Such a nice treat while you're walking around taking in the Nights of Lights and enjoying the evening! The waffle cone is FRESH & my goodness it's so tasty , I could eat the cone alone lol We ordered the cookies and cream DELICIOUS & so creamy. Paid about $18 for 2 ice creams. When you're in a tourist area that's expected though. The line is long but it goes very quickly . So many ice cream flavors to choose from and you can sample too. They have caramel apples, fudge and other treats, I come for the ice cream , can't speak for the other treats. The scent along lures you in ‍ Love this place

Standard Kilwin's experience. You can find these chocolatier/ice cream parlors scattered through the US. We visited just for ice cream which got the job done but nothing special. Grab and go as there is no indoor seating.

Kilwin's is chocolate and dessert heaven. Stopped here when in St. Augustine for the first time. It's in the popular St. George Street area and the smell of the treats fill the air with mouth-watering smells. Open late, Kilwin's is a nice stop after a meal or for an ice cream while walking around the area. I had the caramel apple, and it was fresh, sweet, and rich without being too. My cousin purchased a scoop of ice cream, which she loved. I would go again for sure. My only con is that it can be a bit pricey.

Uh, yikes... These chocolates were horrible. They tasted like the cheap vday chocolates they sell at cvs/dollar tree lol. The white chocolate tasted like soap. Just very bad. Save your money, these box was around $7 no thank you!!!

From the moment you walk in it's like you're a kid again! Everything smells and looks so yummy! The prices are a little high but the chocolates are so good. I love how this store has a train running on tracks. The caramel apples look to pretty to eat.

Disappointing- Not sure how they expect to make money when they ignore customers at the cashier. Literally just stood there and wouldn't walk over or make eye contact with customers...It was close to closing time, so I am not sure if that's why they weren't willing to sell, but it was still open so... Overall ice cream was okay, it had a decent variety. Had many other sweet treats, but couldn't get assistance.

Cute chocolate ice cream shop. The delightful scent of fresh waffle cones drifts into walkway. The service was quick and the line moved . The options were plenty with little disappointment. My crew got praline, mint chocolate, strawberry and salted caramel.

I don't have one in Tampa so I love to stop in when I see one. You can smell it before you even walk in the doors. Mmmmm. They serve designer covered apples, various chocolates and ice cream/sorbets too. They have a dedicated chocolatier plus a few servers. My chocolate caramel ice cream was to die for.

Kilwins has been a family favorite for over a decade and this location was the first one I had ever gone to! John introduced me to Kilwins when we first started dating- his sister swore by them. The enticing smell of waffle cones drifts down St George St beckoning you towards the sweet shop. Ice cream is the first thing that comes to mind- because John loves ice cream the way cookie monster loves cookies! I admit to drooling over all the decadent sweets in the case. The caramel apples glistening, calling to me. Sometimes I even find my favorite- dark chocolate covered orange peels! Whatever your sweet tooth craving- you can satisfy it here. My go to is the chocolate peanut butter swirled ice cream or mint chocolate chip! But I have been known to indulge in toasted coconut too ;) Enjoy!

Kilwins dark chocolate peanut butter cup - A dark chocolate peanut butter cup, weighing 2 ounces (56 grams), is sealed in clear plastic packaging. The packaging displays Kilwin's branding, including the company's name, location in Petoskey, MI, and the product name. The chocolate cup is round and dark in color, with the packaging allowing full visibility of the product.

Overpriced ice cream, nothing great, and the service was rude and unwelcoming. Definitely not coming back.

I ordered two glasses of Prosecco and she informs me that they are out of Prosecco. What!? I then order a can of IPA and a glass of white wine for my gf, which took way too long to get. Plus my beer wasn't even that cold and her wine wasn't good either. I asked about the cheese tray + wine and she looked confused. I asked her what cheeses came on it and she said she didn't know, but she'd find out, but never did. lol. I came here prepared to buy a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese tray to sit outside and enjoy with my gf but that didn't happen. If you are working at a place you should know the couple things that you do serve and know them very well. There also wasn't any clean glasses for the spa water. The deserts did look good but god forbid I asked either of them a question about them because they would have looked at me befuddled. I highly doubt I'll ever come back here again. Good luck with your questions and selections.

The cake pop was really the only item that drew praise from my crew. Breakfast croissants were "mid" per my teens... I now know what an overdone eggs tastes like. Walking in the staff was very friendly and told my party that we could each try a couple of different pieces of Laffy Taffy figure out what we like the most! I decided to try the eggnog flavor and it was very nice! After trying a sample I decided to get a handful of different flavors and nibbled them while I walked on St George street. The Candy Corn Taffy was decent, but it did not have that much flavor in my opinion. The consistency of it was very tasty however so I was glad to try it. I also got one that was pickle flavored and this one was absolutely flavorless so I was a little upset about that. Another one that I got was beer flavored and you could taste it with just the right amount of flavoring. The prices are very decent and charging by the weight, you can get a nice amount in your bag without breaking the bank. The place was very nicely lit and super clean and I loved how one of the walls, in its entirety, was filled with easily over 50 different flavors of saltwater taffy! I felt like a true kid in a candy store!

"First Coast" food - 2 of 2…read more Ok, so this is food ... and it isn't. I didn't know where to eat in charming St. Augustine, Florida - America's oldest settlement - and would wait to return to Jacksonville to figure out where I'd then have dinner. I stumbled into Claude's Chocolate admiring the historic Alcazar Hotel which now houses city hall, a museum, and then some. As such, a dessert from practically adjacent Claude's would serve as lunch. Saying "old world European" may sound trite, but it's applicable here where the endeavor has a craftsman-like dedication, be it in the hand made ice cream/gelato, the chocolates and candies they select, and the tidiness of their small store. They do have enough space, though, for people to eat in and it was nice and cool inside. I had two ice cream flavors side by side - strawberry cheesecake and Belgium chocolate. This ice cream "lunch" was delicious and I savored the taste slowly as I sat inside but looked outside the storefront windows toward the Alcazar and its landscaped square. I was treated politely and with patience as I chose what I wanted from the glass case. I also purchased a small quantity of candy for the road. Claude's Chocolate is not a chain chocolate or ice cream store. This is sort of a boutique for fine chocolates and higher quality desserts and sweet treats. The prices are a little bit higher, but you get what you pay for.

I was told 9pm at the earliest on the phone, the website said 7:30 at the earliest and when I showed up in person to ask they had immediate seating. In fact, not one other table was taken indoors. We had our entire meal alone, inside this restaurant which is a converted home. Many of the homes in St Augustine are like this, so a home converted business isn't weird. But it is when 10+ employees constantly walk by and you are eating at a somewhat private table. I have no idea what all those employees were doing. We joked that the cheesecake restaurant was a front for another business because the employees seemed so busy, yet no one was there. We also had to laugh, almost the entire menu was sold out. Every person at our table had to order their 2nd or 3rd backup item, most of us completely changing our order. One in our group had the waiter come back twice to tell us they sold out of his item AS his meal was being made. While the cheesecakes were very good and there was potentially a nice selection, I think this location was a bit too odd to recommend to other diners unless you specifically just want cheesecake. If you do, just get it to go.
