As my son and I walked in we were greeted by a super quiet , shy voice coming from a sweet young lady named Hailey . With all the flavors and mix and match stuff I was completely lost . I asked Hailey for help deciding , asked her for her favorite flavors . Superman was the first word followed by banana pudding, we ended up with two 3 scoops . Superman , banana pudding x2 , key lime , strawberry cheesecake and butter pecan . Hands down the 2 best flavors were Superman and banana pudding . Hailey really steered us in the right direction for every flavor . As we talked a little bit with Hailey while she was helping choose flavors and also while making our order I could not help but be stuck in the wow factor with just how polite Hailey was . This young lady may have been shy and quiet but the level of manners she showed was simply amazing . Right off the strip in downtown St. Augustine is a little hole-in-the-wall ice cream shop. The Sweet Spot was one of the first places I ever tried a gourmet milkshake. My wife and I stopped in this place to get some coffee ice cream. I got coffee crunch, which had big chunks of chocolate in it and some crunchy stuff. I don't know what it was but it was delicious. I had it in the sugar cone. My wife got dark chocolate raspberry ice creamwhich she said was terrific, not my taste, but she loved it. Young lady behind the counter was terrific. She was nice. Another must every time we're in St. Augustine. Their milkshakes are delicious, creamy gourmet milkshakes that are not too sweet. This is not your run-of-the-mill fast-food quality milkshake so you get what you pay for, and their prices are pretty standard for gourmet ice cream. If you get the mug, you can get it with or without the toppings. They usually melt and fall off in the heat so last trip I got it without, but my daughter never learns so she goes for the pretty toppings and leaves a Hansel & Gretel-style trail of treats along St. George St (sorry everyone). You get to keep the souvenir mug. If you drink it there, you can save yourself the headache and wash it out there but strolling while sipping is more fun so they'll give you a bag, which also helps to keep your hands clean from these overflowing shakes. read more

The ice cream was good, but it was so overpriced! I noticed that they didn't have prices clearly listed except for on the cones, and it was probably for good reason. My son got the least expensive cone, which was like 39 cents. He got one scoop of ice cream on it, and they charged $7.99 for it! I got 2 scoops of dairy-free chocolate chip in a cup, and it brought our total to $15! $15 for 3 scoops of ice cream is ridiculous. The ice cream was good, but definitely not $15 good. We were so tempted by their ice cream sundaes advertised outside served in Mason jars, so we went inside and ordered one, with their Dark Chocolate Raspberry Truffle ice cream. Gazing in the ice cream case, and pretty much a chocoholic, my eyes zoomed right in on that seriously deep dark chocolate color, and I looked no further. It was not crowded at all and the people working there wore wearing masks, so socially distance was done well. There were six choices of the ice cream served in mason jars including chocolate, mint, strawberry sundae, coffee, cookies and you can get it as scoops of ice cream or as a milkshake. We opted for the cookie flavored scoops of ice cream. Didn't take long to make and tasted delicious! Only downside is this is a TO GO place and holding a mason jar filled with ice cream is a little annoying. It's a really tiny place so you kinda just order and then either walk around with your dessert or hopefully find a vacant bench nearby. The mugs are actually milkshakes (I thought they were ice cream) and you can get them in a variety of flavors from vanilla, mint chocolate chip, and 4-6 other flavors. We got cookie dough and it's topped with actual cookies, chocolate chip little bites, a chocolate wafer and a few other treats. The presentation is exactly like their pictures. I would've loved to keep the mug as a keepsake but when you're finished you're left with a dirty mug and it was inconvenient to keep it around. They have ice cream sandwiches that I would love to go back and try. They're pretty much identical to the flavors offered in their milkshakes. In addition to this, they claim to have 44+ unique ice cream flavors. While we were waiting I heard the girl behind he counter ask if there is no more strawberry cheesecake ice cream what do we do. The manager told her to just use strawberry. They didn't ask me if I wanted the switch they were just going to do it. I then told them I didn't want the shake because it wasnt what I was paying for. They gave me a refund and continued to make my friends shake. When he got his it didn't look like the picture (imagine attached) and they accidentally made my make (which also didn't look like the picture). If I was the manager i would of given the extra shake to me but they gave it to someone that was waiting for their shake. Overall I would of done things differently as a manager. Over charged and over priced ice cream. My family and I ordered 2 single scoop cones and 1 double scoop cone . The total came to $30.84?!!!! WOW!!! We asked the cashier again for the total and noticed there was an additional charge for a single scoop cup of which the cashier said she couldn't refund but could give the scoop of ice cream. Upon reviewing the receipt after we had left the area, we were extremely over charged. The cashier charged us for a 3 scoop cone (Did not order or received) 2 double scoops (Only ordered one) and a single scoop (Should've been charged for two). He had to pick something else. We noticed a case to the right of the register & it had vanilla ice cream in it. Shakes were 7.99 each & were small!! The price is high and the ice cream lacks flavor. There are many other shops to get good tasting ice cream. This was not one of them.

There are plenty of places to stop for ice cream on this ally but we stopped here the first day and kept going back! The salted caramel banana foster is the absolutely best! So so good. Also had brownie batter which was great with the chunks of brownie in it but banana foster was incredible. Highly recommend. Little pricey but typical for the area. read more
