Such a cute spot. Smells amazing. But they don't let you get smaller pieces of fudge so I had to buy a big chunk. It wasn't great, didn't have much flavor

For me, Savannah Sweets is the premier candy shop in Saint Augustine. Their pralines are next level and I usually get one daily when I'm there. This visit was no different, you won't see a picture because it was eaten too quickly. My apologies. Their use of nuts, their chocolates, their fresh preparation never fails. You can't go wrong with anything you get, and they are always creating new experiences. Pictured with this review is the genius idea to utilize Fruity Pebbles in a Rice Krispy treat. That's my next purchase. Amazing idea. The staff is always courteous and friendly. It's also nice to see candy being made fresh as part of the decor. This is one of THE Saint Augustine standards that never dissapoints. If you're going to get candy in Saint Augustine, there are many choices. None are as good as Savannah Sweets.

The caramel oreo is a MUST try. Went with my sister and we got a variety of treats for ourselves and for our 4-legged baby. Everything was so good but the winner was for sure the caramel oreo (surprised even half made it to the picture).

Savannah Sweets offers nearly any type of fudge and candy related items that your heart may desire. You can sample one fudge and one praline on each visit. I do not eat fudge that much so I was treating myself. They had a fudge with coconut that was very tasty. I've never seen anything like it. The associate explained they have seasonal fudges. He was nice and had patience as I wasn't sure which praline I wanted to sample. The praline was my not my favorite, but I think that's because of the flavor I tried. And the fudge was not as soft as I have had in the past but the flavor was still great. I would recommend this spot to fulfill your sweet tooth needs.

Good place if you want caramel, nuts, and chocolate covered anything, but doesn't do much in the exploring of flavors beyond that.

I ordered two glasses of Prosecco and she informs me that they are out of Prosecco. What!? I then order a can of IPA and a glass of white wine for my gf, which took way too long to get. Plus my beer wasn't even that cold and her wine wasn't good either. I asked about the cheese tray + wine and she looked confused. I asked her what cheeses came on it and she said she didn't know, but she'd find out, but never did. lol. I came here prepared to buy a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese tray to sit outside and enjoy with my gf but that didn't happen. If you are working at a place you should know the couple things that you do serve and know them very well. There also wasn't any clean glasses for the spa water. The deserts did look good but god forbid I asked either of them a question about them because they would have looked at me befuddled. I highly doubt I'll ever come back here again. Good luck with your questions and selections.

Walking in the staff was very friendly and told my party that we could each try a couple of different pieces of Laffy Taffy figure out what we like the most! I decided to try the eggnog flavor and it was very nice! After trying a sample I decided to get a handful of different flavors and nibbled them while I walked on St George street. The Candy Corn Taffy was decent, but it did not have that much flavor in my opinion. The consistency of it was very tasty however so I was glad to try it. I also got one that was pickle flavored and this one was absolutely flavorless so I was a little upset about that. Another one that I got was beer flavored and you could taste it with just the right amount of flavoring. The prices are very decent and charging by the weight, you can get a nice amount in your bag without breaking the bank. The place was very nicely lit and super clean and I loved how one of the walls, in its entirety, was filled with easily over 50 different flavors of saltwater taffy! I felt like a true kid in a candy store!

I didn't know where to eat in charming St. Augustine, Florida - America's oldest settlement - and would wait to return to Jacksonville to figure out where I'd then have dinner. I stumbled into Claude's Chocolate admiring the historic Alcazar Hotel which now houses city hall, a museum, and then some. As such, a dessert from practically adjacent Claude's would serve as lunch. Saying "old world European" may sound trite, but it's applicable here where the endeavor has a craftsman-like dedication, be it in the hand made ice cream/gelato, the chocolates and candies they select, and the tidiness of their small store. They do have enough space, though, for people to eat in and it was nice and cool inside. I had two ice cream flavors side by side - strawberry cheesecake and Belgium chocolate. This ice cream "lunch" was delicious and I savored the taste slowly as I sat inside but looked outside the storefront windows toward the Alcazar and its landscaped square. I was treated politely and with patience as I chose what I wanted from the glass case. I also purchased a small quantity of candy for the road. Claude's Chocolate is not a chain chocolate or ice cream store. This is sort of a boutique for fine chocolates and higher quality desserts and sweet treats. The prices are a little bit higher, but you get what you pay for.

The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. The cheesecakes were phenomenal -- truly some of the best I've ever had. I was told 9pm at the earliest on the phone, the website said 7:30 at the earliest and when I showed up in person to ask they had immediate seating. In fact, not one other table was taken indoors. We had our entire meal alone, inside this restaurant which is a converted home. Many of the homes in St Augustine are like this, so a home converted business isn't weird. But it is when 10+ employees constantly walk by and you are eating at a somewhat private table. I have no idea what all those employees were doing. We joked that the cheesecake restaurant was a front for another business because the employees seemed so busy, yet no one was there. We also had to laugh, almost the entire menu was sold out. Every person at our table had to order their 2nd or 3rd backup item, most of us completely changing our order. One in our group had the waiter come back twice to tell us they sold out of his item AS his meal was being made. While the cheesecakes were very good and there was potentially a nice selection, I think this location was a bit too odd to recommend to other diners unless you specifically just want cheesecake. If you do, just get it to go.
