This was our last ditch effort in hopes of finding a good strong cup of hot java. ThankGod, she said "yes". They also were going to be open until 10pm. Most other places closed a little early, due to the Corona Virus restraints. The coffee was excellent. I bought a lb. of ground coffee(chocolate). It smells good. I look forward to trying it soon. There were no places to sit inside, as it was small inside, but they had a huge patio with wonderful tables, chairs and umbrellas. We sat for a few minutes and enjoyed the hot coffee. Then, we left. The young lady working here was very pleasant.

The tour was a lot of fun. Our tourguide Joe was superfun and had great jokes throughout the tour. He kept everone engaged. We learned about the chocolate process and saw a small artisan chocolate factory. Surprisingly they only had 5 employees. It was only 8.95 and you got a dicount coupon to buy chocolate and fudge in their store. Tour sticker also gives you a 10 percent discount at their other 2 locations and some restaurants. We had 5 or 6 samples on the tour. Next to winery and very close to distillery.

Ever since I did a tour with them- I have wanted to get back and grab more chocolate. The quality is extraordinary! I thought I loved chocolate, I thought I knew chocolate- and then I tasted fresh chocolate. Locally made- they literally go from bean to melt in your mouth. I saw the little store off St George and just had to pop in for a bar or two. Highly, highly recommend for anyone who loves chocolate!

Walking down the strip looking for the oldest Wooden Schoolhouse we came across this place my bf was in the mood for a mocha latte so we went inside and ordered the dark chocolate mocha taste a lot like chocolate. The fudge was good we tasted the cookies and cream and the birthday cake sample.

Being a total chocoholic, this place was MANDATORY on the list of places to visit in St. Augustine. They have an insane selection of chocolates here that range from white to dark and even tell ya a little about the origins of the cocoa bean. I swear i can spend hours here looking at all the products the way one would gaze at the museum artifacts that St. Augustine has to offer, but that's just me. Anyway, being that I love chocolate truffles, I grabbed 4 varieties, two of each kind: cappuccino, amaretto, rum, and Datil pepper (to take a walk on the wild side). These truffles tasted fresh and amazing with the delicate flavors bursting in my mouth as I bite into them. I also got dark chocolate tasting squares and a dark chocolate bar with cocoa nibs since I don't see that quite too often anymore. Definitely one of my fave spots on our St. Augustine trip!

I'm gonna give this little store five stars. When I first walked into this location, I actually heard singing. Three of the ladies that work in the back with all singing. That is a joyful noise, they had a song in their hearts. Maybe it was the chocolate in their system, I don't know. My wife and I purchased some candy beer, I purchased some chocolate cashew clusters. Which were amazing. My wife came across some candied fruit slices. She says she hasn't seen those since she was a little girl. Great store, great chocolate. Whether you are buying one piece of chocolate, or several pounds, these ladies will always greet you with a smile and give you great service. See you next time.

I have not tried everything but their truffles are pretty good. The only thing I did not care for was anything that claimed to have bourbon in it. Bourbon flavoring perhaps. I like bourbon, but did not care for their bourbon chocolates.

I have been known to frequent various whetstone chocolate locations around St. Augustine. I was even offered a local discount once because I come so often. They offer the best chocolate you will find in Florida. I recommend buying these for gifts. Your family and friends will love you for it. My favourite item to get other than the cinnamon gelato is the frozen hot chocolate. I make it a point to stop in here when I visit St. George street.

It was unusually cold while we are in St Augustine so we stopped here to get a warm coffee. The coffee was good. We really like chocolate syrup on our ice cream and they have 4 flavors for sample. We tested them all. They were all good but not great so we passed on $21 a bottle.

Delicious chocolates and even better service. Thank you for saving my chocolate for me and this very sweet note! Made my day!

I ordered two glasses of Prosecco and she informs me that they are out of Prosecco. What!? I then order a can of IPA and a glass of white wine for my gf, which took way too long to get. Plus my beer wasn't even that cold and her wine wasn't good either. I asked about the cheese tray + wine and she looked confused. I asked her what cheeses came on it and she said she didn't know, but she'd find out, but never did. lol. I came here prepared to buy a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese tray to sit outside and enjoy with my gf but that didn't happen. If you are working at a place you should know the couple things that you do serve and know them very well. There also wasn't any clean glasses for the spa water. The deserts did look good but god forbid I asked either of them a question about them because they would have looked at me befuddled. I highly doubt I'll ever come back here again. Good luck with your questions and selections.

The cake pop was really the only item that drew praise from my crew. Breakfast croissants were "mid" per my teens... I now know what an overdone eggs tastes like. Walking in the staff was very friendly and told my party that we could each try a couple of different pieces of Laffy Taffy figure out what we like the most! I decided to try the eggnog flavor and it was very nice! After trying a sample I decided to get a handful of different flavors and nibbled them while I walked on St George street. The Candy Corn Taffy was decent, but it did not have that much flavor in my opinion. The consistency of it was very tasty however so I was glad to try it. I also got one that was pickle flavored and this one was absolutely flavorless so I was a little upset about that. Another one that I got was beer flavored and you could taste it with just the right amount of flavoring. The prices are very decent and charging by the weight, you can get a nice amount in your bag without breaking the bank. The place was very nicely lit and super clean and I loved how one of the walls, in its entirety, was filled with easily over 50 different flavors of saltwater taffy! I felt like a true kid in a candy store!

"First Coast" food - 2 of 2…read more Ok, so this is food ... and it isn't. I didn't know where to eat in charming St. Augustine, Florida - America's oldest settlement - and would wait to return to Jacksonville to figure out where I'd then have dinner. I stumbled into Claude's Chocolate admiring the historic Alcazar Hotel which now houses city hall, a museum, and then some. As such, a dessert from practically adjacent Claude's would serve as lunch. Saying "old world European" may sound trite, but it's applicable here where the endeavor has a craftsman-like dedication, be it in the hand made ice cream/gelato, the chocolates and candies they select, and the tidiness of their small store. They do have enough space, though, for people to eat in and it was nice and cool inside. I had two ice cream flavors side by side - strawberry cheesecake and Belgium chocolate. This ice cream "lunch" was delicious and I savored the taste slowly as I sat inside but looked outside the storefront windows toward the Alcazar and its landscaped square. I was treated politely and with patience as I chose what I wanted from the glass case. I also purchased a small quantity of candy for the road. Claude's Chocolate is not a chain chocolate or ice cream store. This is sort of a boutique for fine chocolates and higher quality desserts and sweet treats. The prices are a little bit higher, but you get what you pay for.

A Must-Visit Cheesecake & Wine Tasting in St. Augustine!…read more What an absolute gem! This small, quaint spot in St. Augustine made our cheesecake and wine tasting such a memorable experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. The cheesecakes were phenomenal -- truly some of the best I've ever had. My two favorites were the blueberry crumble and the lemon chantillí, but honestly, every single one we tried was delicious. Perfect texture, amazing flavors, and beautifully presented. I was told 9pm at the earliest on the phone, the website said 7:30 at the earliest and when I showed up in person to ask they had immediate seating. In fact, not one other table was taken indoors. We had our entire meal alone, inside this restaurant which is a converted home. Many of the homes in St Augustine are like this, so a home converted business isn't weird. But it is when 10+ employees constantly walk by and you are eating at a somewhat private table. I have no idea what all those employees were doing. We joked that the cheesecake restaurant was a front for another business because the employees seemed so busy, yet no one was there. We also had to laugh, almost the entire menu was sold out. Every person at our table had to order their 2nd or 3rd backup item, most of us completely changing our order. One in our group had the waiter come back twice to tell us they sold out of his item AS his meal was being made. While the cheesecakes were very good and there was potentially a nice selection, I think this location was a bit too odd to recommend to other diners unless you specifically just want cheesecake. If you do, just get it to go.
