The KOOKABURRA I visited The KOOKABURRA for the first time while my fiancée was having her wedding makeup done, and I was very pleased with the experience. The establishment offers on-street parking directly in front, which is convenient; however, spaces can be limited, so I recommend arriving early to secure a spot. The interior is spacious and well-appointed, and the staff were consistently courteous and professional. I ordered the cinnamon coffee and found it excellent--robust, well-balanced, and flavorful, not diluted as is unfortunately common at some other cafés. The quality and care in preparation were evident. Overall, The KOOKABURRA is a delightful and ethically run café. Very cute spot in historic St Augustine. We came for a quick coffee while waiting to do some family photos. The place is quiet and quaint- could easily sit and do some work from here if needed. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. We ordered an iced honey badger and a gluten free, vegan pumpkin donut. I am not one who usually orders gluten free or vegan but it looked so good and our kiddos wanted to try it. They devoured it quickly even with some nuts in it (which they don't typically like). Let me start up by saying that this review is for the Saint Augustine amphitheater, flea market kookaburra, but I've been to them all. I normally get a hot oat milk latte whenever I go in and I really enjoy it and last week I came to the amphitheater for the farmers market and I went to the kookaburra in here. I got myself my normal oatmeal latte. That being said, here I am this week at the farmers market and I stopped in again to get a latte and then I remembered that last week my wife and I saw they had a sweet heat latte and let me tell you this is fantastic. They do serve it at all the locations and they also sell syrup and you can make it at home. Great customer service always with friendly people. read more

Seriously, finding a solid savory pie feels like spotting a unicorn these days, but they nailed it. They've also got the classic baked goods if you're feeling less adventurous. The Kookaburra is such a sweet shop in historic St. Augustine. The staff are super friendly and get to know everyone. We went multiple mornings in a row, and they were very kind to save us one of their savory pies on our last day! My two favorite items are the meat pie and the iced Aussie. The meat pie is served at lunch and has the most beautiful flakey, buttery crust. I love the savory filling, and it goes perfectly with their datil hot sauce. The iced Aussie is a refreshing iced coffee with house made vanilla sweetener. I had to ask for extra sweetener is bring out the flavor. The true blue pie (egg, cheddar, rosemary) was also good, but could have used more cheddar. The green goddess drink didn't have a strong green tea flavor and tasted a bit watery. The chai tea had pretty strong spices which I really enjoyed, but did also taste a bit watered down. Really love this place and would come back many times for more of their meat pies! read more

Simple menu with delicious, tasty options! At the location near the historic district, the entrance is very small with a. Line out the door. Across the way, there is additional seating which we nearly missed but it is still small area. Overall, I enjoyed how simple the menu was-- it takes the complication out of pondering too many different options. I had the hot Aussie which was so delicious, frothy, and creamy! It tasted like a treat but wasn't too sweet- more of a whipped cream taste. The following day, I had the honey badger which was good, you were really able to taste the flavors- honey and cinnamon. Best iced coffee I've ever had! It was the Minas (Brazilian) and it tasted so smooth and almost sweet. The servers were a couple of great guys working long days, but made it enjoyable to hang out and chat while I waited for my coffee. Stopped by before the rain started to grab a warm drink. They were a little busy but the orders came out quickly. I ordered a small chai with oatmilk. It was delicious, creamy and not gritty. Due to the timeframe I was able to get the scone at a reduced price. The scone was cranberry orange. Fully of flavor and large cranberries. I also grabbed a Moringa lavender kombucha. I'm guessing since they are a Aussie company that's the vibe they were aiming for. Their coffee has really nice flavors nothing overly sweet. They are focused on the coffee. Nothing overly sweet. The coffee itself is very strong. They have alternative milks which is nice. They also offer meat pies and lots of vegan/regular pastries. Staff is very friendly and cheerful. The baristas were friendly and fast! There was a small line, but when it was my turn to order, my drink was ready in a jiffy. I ordered my usual Chai latte, which was delicious and sweet, and sat in the adjoining sitting area. While the room with the coffee counter is inviting, the sitting area is stale and unappealing. I did find the window seats a decent place to people watch and read a few chapters, but I don't think I'd choose to sit inside again. The location is great though! Having visited St. Augustine a handful of times, Kookaburra has become our go-to coffee shop. The staff have always been friendly and quick to get drinks out. Try a Honey Badger, one of their signature drinks. It's not an excessively sweet coffee drink, yet it packs a punch. The sugar and cinnamon components are well-balanced. Parking can be a pain for this particular location, but if you find a spot, depending on the day and time, you might as well sit outside and enjoy the view or just walk around and enjoy the beautiful town that is St. Augustine. read more

Aussie inspired coffee was delicious & I loved the tiny coffee shop and across the outside space was seating to enjoy your beverage and treat. The business is two-sided...you go in on the right to order and/or pick up...then walk across to the other side for indoor seating if needed. You'll know what I mean when you get there. That said, there is a little seating area inside and also a few tables with seats outside on the patio with a nice view of the plaza. You go to the counter to place your order and pick up in the same location. There is no table service, but on a rare occasion that something takes time, they may bring it out if you don't hear them call your name to come to pick it up. The staff is friendly and the coffee is good. However, it takes a little time to get your drinks...so, just so you know...you may be standing there a bit. There is metered street parking. It's easy to find if you are walking in from anywhere. They also offer a rewards program as well. Note: Be prepared for the guilt tipping upon checkout when paying by card.
