Stopped here, since it seems to be the place to get coffee in St. Augustine. Plus I've heard Australia has a great coffee culture. The coffee was very good. I had an iced honey badger latte, and it was delicious. We also tried the Aussie pies, which were just ok. I'd skip those tbh. I think my husband got the wrong one, since we thought it had sausage and halfway through we realized there was none lol. Overall, staff was very friendly. Right across the street from the St. Augustine Beach (Crescent Beach) is a cool coffee and lunch spot. A nice selection of different coffees, fresh pastries and muffins for breakfast and some very good Aussie Pies for breakfast or lunch. Saying that, I never had (or knew) what an Aussie Pie was. So I had to give it a try. It was lunch time so the traditional meat pie for me. Filled with minced meat, onions and tasty tomato gravy. Mined you I had nothing to compare it to, being my first one but I can tell you this. The crust was lite and flaky and the meat and onion filling hot and delicious. On a hot day you definitely need to give the Iced Honey Badger a try. Latte with Honey, Cinnamon and Vanilla. Just awesome. Oh and it pairs well with a nice piece of their "melt in your mouth" Carmel Slice. I'm always happy to see the Baristas helping customers with choices if they are unsure. Great customer service, with a smile and very upbeat. Lots of seating both inside and out. And so sorry for this but I just had to ,,, "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree. Probably the best coffee in the area I would say and this coffee shop is nice and spacious. If you want to get some study reading done I do highly recommend coming here while here for vacation. my wife and I came here on a drive by just randomly. Her mother is from Australia and my wife said "That place looks interesting" so we turned in. we ordered a couple of pies true blue and the meat pie. my wife had a childhood moment saying these pies tasted just like her mom made growing up. I hate to say it, but this is the best coffee shop in Saint Augustine, hands-down. If you're visiting, I highly highly recommend that you go there. Please don't go to Starbucks. You can go there anywhere not that there's anything wrong with that but kookaburra roast their own beans they got their own drinks that are unique and they serve pastries and stuff if you wanna get a snack. Just a chill place to hang out and have coffee with friends. You can hang out inside. It's always nice and clean or you can go outside. They have several location locations around town. As bad luck would have it, I ended up having to put in a few hours of work during a weekend visit to St. Augustine. As good luck would have it, though, I found a great place to do that work here at Kookaburra! Over the two mornings I was here I got to try both the regular brew and the americano (oops, I mean the long black), and both were excellent (and quite different from one another in terms of flavor profile). Coffee aside, there was a lot of comfortable seating, large tables, and fairly good (but not great) wifi. Also, the service was excellent. One suggestion I would make to the proprietors would be to institute a no phone call/no virtual meeting policy, since a few people seem to treat this place as their personal office space, and I really don't enjoy overhearing other people's work calls (I had to make a couple of my own, but took them outside). read more

This place is so spacious during a pandemic that you could do roller skating laps on that concrete floor, but try not to hit yourself on those wood tables or merch shelves- ouch! Must be popular too because we had a solid 15min wait behind 5 people when we entered who apparently all needed some extra fancy labor intensive espresso drink that held up the line. But it's Florida- no one's in a hurry here, right? Those breakfast pies were calling our name, and a sweet pastry too? Don't mind if I do. We're definitely going to walk that off, right? Sure. Truth be told that cinnamon scone was so big it was slowly eaten over 3 days, but the extra insulation on my thighs may last far longer. We randomly drove by this place on our way to st Augustine. I didn't see this place, but my fiancé who was driving saw it and immediately had to do a u-turn on the road. As I'm an Aussie, he said this place was meant to be and we had to stop by and try it. How delighted I was to finally have something to remind me of home. The store is very spacious inside, and there were only two types of pies available. We had to try to original meat pie and it didn't disappoint. My husband and I stopped in here TWICE today (Sunday) trying to get a taste of the delicious-sounding Aussie pies. Our first attempt was made at about 9:45 am. We waited in a long line and watched the sparsely supplied case get emptied of any available food as the customers ahead of us placed their orders. We returned at 12:30 to find one pie in the case.
