5 Stars for an Australian-American coffee shop that serves good espresso drinks and has a fun vibe. I was looking for a quick pick-me-up and was stoked to try their Piccolo (I confirmed with the barista that it's the same as a cortado) and an iced cap for my partner. I wish I had been more hungry so I would've tried the Aussie pies, but I asked for the most popular pastry item and it was the vegan banana nut loaf. The coffees were great and the nut loaf was full of flavor! Had I not known it was lacking eggs or butter, I wouldn't have been able to call it out! Next time I'll grab one of their hot items, but I was pleased with what we got for a quick sip and bite. Though we didn't get a chance to sit inside, this shop has seating and I noticed a bunch of folks chatting with their laptops out. As far as recommendation, if you're a coffee snob, the taste of the roast threw me off a little bit. But all in all I recommend stopping at this location or any other one of their shops to have a cup of coffee or pastry. Moving onto a full review: The service was absolutely outstanding. I would give that a 10 out of 10. The lady at the cash register was extremely helpful, and the girl who made our coffee, brought us the coffee to where we were standing in the coffee shop. It was definitely a slow morning, but she didn't have to do that. They definitely take the extra step here. They roaster their beans in the house, which is an amazing experience in itself to watch and be apart of! They also make all of their own syrups with the exception of the sugar-free ones. Their merchandise section was very tastefully done, and you can buy their syrups as well as their coffee! read more

The Kookaburra coffee located off of State Road 207 is one of the most extraordinarily amazing coffee places in the area in my opinion. The staff is always ridiculously friendly and they are so fast with their orders that it makes it feel like even before I'm done paying my drink is already out and ready for me to take. Whenever I come here there is always a handful of people waiting for their drinks or food or coming in after me to place their orders. They have many different options but one of the main ones that I always get is the Aussie coffee. It is coffee that comes with heavy cream and vanilla. I always get it iced and the flavor is wonderful, the vanilla has a nice sweetness to it and the cream rounds out the flavoring. The coffee itself is not acidic whatsoever and has the perfect amount of strength to it. They also offer breakfast pies or lunch pies depending on when you get here and while I have never had them I always smell them every time I come in and they always smell heavenly! The place is very nicely spread out and you never feel like you are on top of anyone. I love that there is a huge amount of area to stand and wait so I can just grab my drink and head out of the door as soon as I get it. The prices are very reasonable and they have many different Keys you can also order. The Green Goddess tea is very refreshing and that is something my wife always gets. Very nicely lit and the fact they sell many items of their own, including their coffee which you can get it ground or in whole bean is very cool! I was told I have to visit here when in St. Augustine & I'm glad I got this recommendation. I'm a big fan of local spots that serve great coffee so I had high hopes. Although the menu is on the smaller side I was able to find something that sounded right up my alley. I went with the "diesel iced" which is their regular cold brew coffee with vanilla plus an espresso shot. It was a great choice. While I didn't taste much vanilla, the flavor of the espresso & cold brew made a great mix. It was super strong, didn't have an acidic aftertaste & it was relatively cheap in price. I also liked how it didn't taste overly sweetened like the cups of sugar you get at most big name chains. It could've used an extra splash of cream in my opinion but that's just a personal preference. There were a good bit of people inside at the tables & a couple people ahead of me in line but I got my drink very quick. The barista was also super friendly. The dining area looked really clean & so did side stations. There was a ton of merch for sale like shirts, hats, beans, cups, honey & more which surprised me. Supporting small businesses is the best choice, especially when they serve good products. I didn't try any of their pastries or Aussie pies but they sure looked good. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely have to pick up some food. I'm not even sure what big chains were around St. Augustine but you're way better off coming here for your caffeine fix, you'll most likely love it! read more

Coffee was delicious, but cold. Assuming the machine was off for a bit since it was late. My husband loved his and bought beans, which we let them de-gas a bit at home, and we've been making phenomenal coffee. I would absolutely try again! Cute trendy coffee place in St. Augustine. They had a nice outdoor patio that you can sit on, if it's not too hot. Some of the areas are shaded, too, which is nice. The place is dog friendly, so make sure to bring your furry friends. When we showed up, the line was long but we waited. Once you get inside you get a good cute, beachy, laid back vibe in there. It's trendy and great for vacationers! The staff was working so hard and pumping out coffees left and right. They were kind and quick! They're known for the pies, so make sure that you go early because once they sell out, they sell out. Since we didn't know there, we got there in the knick of time to get their breakfast ones. They were literally some of the last ones. We got iced caramel lattes, which were refreshing and a great start to the day! There are so many recommendations made for this cafe and frankly I was disappointed. The coffee is subpar, the hot chocolate had chunks of powdered mix still floating in it and the pies were average. I've lived in the UK and traveled to locations with more authentic pie options - these were big soggy, the fillings uninspired and overall very average. read more

This is an Aussie-American Espresso bar and Pie shop. They also serve Non-coffee drinks: Green tea, Chai, Hot Chocolate, etc. Whether you're cursing by or you're a coffee lover, this place is great. Not only is there plenty of parking but there are several tables inside to sit and enjoy your treats! They offer both a variety of expresso drinks and sweet treats, puff pastry pies and baked goods. I got: *Cappuccino, (10oz $3.75) it was frothy and tasty! *Apple fritter (sweet bread), which was so moist that it fell apart, and full of delicious flavor! *"Corker" Brekkie Pie ($5.75) which came with sausage, egg, cheddar and pepper jack cheese. Not my favorite as there was just too much crust and not enough filling, I would probably try the crustless next time. Although the crust was flaky on top, the bottom crust was a little harder and since 85% of the pie was crust, I couldn't taste the filling but if you're a bread eater you might enjoy. The feeling at the table was mutual... Overall great place, it was clean, and everyone was friendly. A fun little Sunday morning treat. The interior was beautiful, functional and spacious which I enjoyed. Modern hipster looking. I'm a sucker for any coffee with coconut so I got the mocha nut iced latte- delish. Also ordered the scone to share with the table and it was huge for the price! Tried some of the pumpkin donut my friend got which was chewy and sweet. The Aussie pie was equally delectable... reminded me of a frittata with a pie crust. Stopped by on our way to a St Augustine restaurant. We were driving by it and decided to turn around New Year's Eve around the afternoon. Friendly staff and delicious homemade brew. You can see the area where they roast the beans which is pretty cool. We had the chai tea latte and PC (signature caramel and vanilla latte). I am not a chai person but took a sip of my bf drink and it was delicious. I absolutely loved my PC because it had a great balance of sweet and caffeine which some iced coffees miss them mark. My favorite Kookaburra, although I've never been to one that isn't great. I love the barristas here especially. They are consistently above and beyond helpful and friendly. The drinks are superb and I love the pastries way too much. Never had a bad scone or muffin. Parking can be a little tricky due to the shape, but there is always ample even if you need to head around to the back through the gated opening. Highly recommend. read more

I have given this coffee shop four tries, and today I decided this will be the last. My first time I was here, the coffee was just okay but the scone was amazing. That's what brought me back. On the 2nd and 3rd visit I got the scone, but it was dry and bland...not sure what changed, but they overbake them, and the flavor wasn't there like the first time. The last three visits I ordered a hot chai. It starts off lukewarm for approximately 2 minutes. I hate drinking a cooled down hot drink, and all I can guess is that they are not using hot enough water for their teas or using cold milk instead of steamed. A (very) small hot chai is $4.22--they're prices are conveniently not displayed on their menu. I would never pay that much for a small drink if I had known that before ordering. That is a $1 more than Starbucks' small (who everyone knows has overpriced drinks). To top it off, their app gives you reward points when you spend $4.25. Seriously? They charge $4.22, so you don't even get one reward point for buying their overpriced, (cold) hot tea? read more
