Iced latte
Lesleigh S.

I visited The Kookaburra in St. Augustine and had an iced coffee that was so good--smooth, flavorful, and perfectly refreshing. The shop itself is spotless and has a bright, clean feel that makes you want to stay awhile. The staff is genuinely kind and friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. A great stop whether you're local or just passing through.

So spacious this was my first time in I was greeted with a welcome in and smiles. Best thing ever! Inside was clean and open I loved the layout. 3 drinks were $18 pretty standard. Drinks are always good food is good ! Stop in, stay a while

Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a caramel iced coffee and a porker to enjoy on the deck. As a bonus I ordered an almond scone for my next morning breakfast. All tasted very good, however the porker was a bit too salty. Enjoyed the outside deck people watching and chatting with other traveler.

Very flavorful and bold coffee! Highly recommend! Very friendly people behind the counter as well. Place was super clean and very spacious. Great place to hang out

Honey Badger latte

I ordered an iced Honey Badger latte at the window and it was delicious! Perfect quick stop before a beach walk!

Aussie Pies!

Visiting Saint Augustine for three nights, walked across the street to this one of many coffee shops... What a fantastic experience! The only thing better than the food and coffee was the level of service and cleanliness of the dining area! I know there are many of these around town, but this one was fantastic, and a must stop!

Cute shop with coffee, wine, and meat pies. No labels on the drinks so pay attention to the counter calling items out.

Coffee was great but I didn't think the Aussie Pies were all that...flaky crust but fillings were just ok. Maybe the choices?

Really good coffee! I didn't try any of the food, but it also looked good. Would come here regularly if I lived in the area!

Coffee was great. The Aussie pies were decent to me but my wife loved them. I preferred the pumpkin bread my kids ate.

Thank god we walked in when there weren't any other people in the shop. We definitely took a long time trying to choose which flavors to get. Since there are literally SO many choices you can get, we decided to get the dozen of whichever donuts we could choose. The flavors I can remember exactly: Apple pie, blueberry pancake, coffee cake, Oreo cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, Elvis, peanut nutter, snick jagger, butterfinger, and others to make it up to twelve (we did get two of the same ones though). Considering they do decorate the donuts to order, they did take a little bit to come out, but they were fresh and hot when they did arrive! We immediately grabbed a table and dug in, since we didn't want to carry any around with us for the rest of the day. My favorites were any of the ones with peanut butter or candy bars. The rest were good, but I feel like most of them I was done with after a bite or two. They were sweet and rich, but I love sweet and rich, but some of the flavors just weren't hitting like the peanut nutter or butterfinger one lol. They certainly weren't cheap either. They are pretty small; we were trying to take small bites so that all five of us could get a little of each donut (so you can guess how well that went over lol). Anyway, it was fun and funky in there and the staff was really helpful!

Not so easy to find, but, once found, hard to forget. 50 pound jute sacks of fresh coffee beans sit on the floor near the entrance. The smell of fresh roasting coffee beans is heavenly. When you buy a pound or two of coffee here expect to be quizzed on your tastes and how you prepare your coffee (I use a French Press.) Each order is custom mixed, custom ground, and even the labels are made especially for each order. My tastes have changed and it's great to have a real pro advise and suggest various combinations. I now have a "special" breakfast coffee and a lovely light fruity after dinner flavor in decaf. (I never thought of coffee beans as a fruit but it's easy to taste when everything is so fresh.) This is not cheap coffee. I save Nuanz Coffee for special occasions or for when I just need the right finish to a great dinner. I keep my coffee wrapped in a plastic bag in the back of the freezer. For real coffee (and tea) lovers as an occasional indulgence it's worth every penny. CALL BEFORE GOING BY!! It's a mom and pop operation they aren't there all the time.

Seeing a 4.9 rating honestly made me pretty skeptical becuase usually places that hyped never live up to it. But wow... this one actually did. I'm pretty sure my 5 stars are gonna help push this place to a full 5.0 The design itself is cute but not exactly perfection, and the checkout line process could definetly be smoother during busy times. BUT the food... thats where this place absolutley shines. The Arepas Special with the corn pancakes filled with eggs, avocado and tomatoes was an absolute BEAST. Fresh, flavorful and super satisfying. Then the Avocado Toast with the sweet pumkin pieces just blew the rest of our taste buds out the window. Such a weird combo on paper but somehow worked sooo good. And finishing it all with a Cafe con Leche and a blueberry scone just put the final dot on this breakfast experiance. It honestly didnt feel like "just breakfast" it felt like an experiance you remember later. Big shoutout to Huhny for a human she is! She absolutley knocked it outta the ballpark with recommendations, brought everything fast to the table, and you could really feel the passion and positive energy she delivered Thank you team, we'll 100% be back next time we visit your cool town St. Augustine.

There was a customer with a dog, which someone came over and pet. They stopped petting it and it barked LOUDLY, scaring me. I hurriedly finished my food (which I had found a hair in the potatoes as I was finishing up) because at this point it's obviously not a service dog and was still allowed in a restaurant. As I was leaving it barked again, very loudly. This coupled with some of the conversations I heard while eating has sealed the decision to not return. Still on the hunt for a peaceful place where I can enjoy a meal.
