I'm gluten free, dairy free and don't eat refined sugars. When my wife told me about this place I had to give it a try. We went today and tried the ice cream cookie sandwich and almond butter and jelly on their gluten free toast along with a coconut milk matcha and strawberry latte which my wife enjoyed. What a treat to have a place to go for a sweet treat, that I don't have to make myself, and a naturally sweetened matcha latte that's dairy free. Super cute eatery, glad I popped in for a quick bite while I was on the road. I grabbed a chocolate banana bread slice and it was amazing. Losing and delicious. Stopped by on our way home from a one night stay in Saint Augustine for a coffee and this place is CUTE! It's like stepping into a cute kitchen in someone home. It is gluten free, refined sugar free, I think dairy free too. I got an iced strawberry oat milk latte that could've been a bit sweeter or more strawberry flavor but was still really good and creamy! Fast and friendly service. This is our second time here and I love all the GF options! I had an almond biscotti last time which was great and the coffee cake today - also amazing! I am taking home a cinnamon roll for later and a bag of their Dolce Espresso blend. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather. I am totally a gluten-free girly and was so looking forward to visiting here. Upon arriving I was asking questions about some of the baked goods trying to decide what I wanted and I found the customer service and the interaction of questions answered to be totally lacking... which to me is almost as more important then the products. I couldnt decided what I wanted, but I opted for a soma chocolate doughnut which was just good and a little mushy and small for the price. The flavor was not what I expected. I also had a peppermint ice cream bar which I had to leave sitting in the car for 10 minutes just to take a bite out of. The 2 lattes were normal. I understand gluten-free is hard to do, but I really had such high hopes for this with my allergies. I'm hoping I just caught them on an off day and want to try again! read more

Exactly as expected. This little bakery was extremely cheerful and cozy inside. The pastry options were so vast that I had to buy a to-go box of the ones I couldn't choose between to take home. The coffee was also delicious. It was a bit small and so had about 2-3 tables inside and 1 table outside to sit at and also had a small couch/seating area available for groups as well. I love the entire premise for this place!! Real ingredients and delicious bakery items! The shop is one the smaller side, with some seating inside and a small counter for ordering. Everything is very bright and airy in here, i love the vibe of the place. I've tried 5 of their bakery items now and each one was absolutely delicious, and bonus, that it made me feel good with the GF and DF!! The cookie bun, cinnamon roll, and snickerdoodle blondie were some of my favorites, but the pecan brownie and poptart were also great! You really can't go wrong with anything here! The only thing that I've noticed, is everytime i come, the baristas are not friendly and just seem like they don't want to be there. Not a big deal to me but ruins the energy sometimes. Can't even begin to describe the customer service of alms + fare! I reached out on their website asking if they made custom cakes and I was e-mailed back by Christine, the owner, stating that they could. We went back and forth about details for my mom's 60th birthday cake (she is gluten free and it's hard for her to find delicious desserts) and chose a pick up date and time. The cake was exactly what I asked for - a double layer coconut cake with micro flowers and they even wrote on it. It was very affordable, I totally expected to pay a lot more for the cake so I made sure to leave a tip. Super cute and clean inside. It was delicious as well..super moist and not too sweet. The food and drinks were amazing!! The food there is great for Vegan, Dairy Free, and Gluten Free eaters! As a foodie myself i love my sweet treats but i am lactose intolerant which makes it hard to find GOOD dairy free sweets...this place has it ALL!! I've already been twice in two days! Love love love their desserts and drinks! I didn't get to try their quiches or frittatas because they run out so early in the mornings. That rose latte was absolutely delicious and one I'll remember for a long time to come. This place is gluten free so the textures of the baked goods are a little different. The blondie was amazing! Not like your typical blondie that is thick abd cookie like. It was a more like a moist cake. It reminded me of a Filipino dessert that my mom would make. It was very good. The cinnamon roll was just okay in my opinion. But I like and ooooey gooey cinnamon roll. This one had a firm texture. We also ordered a cortado which was very good. The inside was nicely decorated and very clean. This sweet little shop is incredibly allergy-friendly! Arrive early in the day to pick from a bakery case full of gluten-free, dairy-free, and select vegan options!! Everything is adorable and comfy for your tummy. I bought a wide selection of cookies, bars, and candy. I just wanted to share how much I love Alms+ Fare!! The owner and her staff are so sweet and kind!! And the coffee and treats are truly the best GF in town!! But tonight I just wanted to share, I just bought the GF pizza dough. I had my 3year old grandson help me roll out the dough and make his own pizza. I stopped into Alms + Fare with a dear friend- we were in St Augustine having a girls day, and needless to say- a sign that said "bakery" was all we needed to turn in! Very nice cafe style seating- we enjoyed our treats sitting on the cushy chairs. I went with a seasonal drink, a hibiscus lemonade refresher and Julie had the roo-bru, a coffee alternative. We both loved the drinks- the quiche was a little different than I am used to- the donut was tasty as was the bar treat. My friend also snagged some treats to go- a candy bar alternative that she liked and I could pass on. Good for me, because I didn't need to eat more, lol! VERY disappointed! I came to check out the cupcakes to see if I wanted them for my daughter's birthday Last month. They were okay so I ordered some. PLEASE make sure they confirm with you because I paid with my credit card and didn't hear from them again. I assumed everything was A okay. When I showed up to pick the cupcakes up, they not only did not have them ready, but they made me wait a long time so they could call the owner. The result? I was not given cupcakes and they wanted me to show them my credit card statement. Unfortunately I paid for it last month and my phone doesn't allow me to see the previous months so I left empty handed even though I paid for them. WORST customer service I have experienced anywhere. I've been a faithful fan and consistent customer of Alms + Fare for over a year and a half now (maybe even 2)! I always love seeing what Christine, the owner, comes up with. She experiments with a variety of seasonal food items. Most recently, she added smoothie bowls to the menu! Just in time for the summer heat. I tried one today (7/7) and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I don't know about you, but I prefer smoothie-thick acai as opposed to icy sorbet acai. The smoothie bowl had the perfect consistency.
