Stopped by on our way home from a one night stay in Saint Augustine for a coffee and this place is CUTE! It's like stepping into a cute kitchen in someone home. It is gluten free, refined sugar free, I think dairy free too. I got an iced strawberry oat milk latte that could've been a bit sweeter or more strawberry flavor but was still really good and creamy! We didn't get any pastries but they all looked lovely! The two woman working were very nice and friendly! Check them out if you're in Saint Augustine!

I am totally a gluten-free girly and was so looking forward to visiting here. Upon arriving I was asking questions about some of the baked goods trying to decide what I wanted and I found the customer service and the interaction of questions answered to be totally lacking... which to me is almost as more important then the products. I couldnt decided what I wanted, but I opted for a soma chocolate doughnut which was just good and a little mushy and small for the price. The flavor was not what I expected. I also had a peppermint ice cream bar which I had to leave sitting in the car for 10 minutes just to take a bite out of. The 2 lattes were normal. I understand gluten-free is hard to do, but I really had such high hopes for this with my allergies. I'm hoping I just caught them on an off day and want to try again!

Absolutely recommend this beautiful little gem! Had the lemon loaf and an iced honey lavender latte with coconut milk. For someone with celiac this place was excellent. The lemon loaf is seasonal, and totally worth it! I can't wait to go back and try their version of a toaster pastry!

Amazing gluten-free selection super friendly staff! Would recommend to anyone. A real highchair and a real changing table for those parents who really want to have comfortable coffee and breakfast in the morning.

Alms + Fare is all about making sweet things simple, with treats that are delicious yet nutritious. They have Vegan, gluten free, dairy free and naturally sweet treats! So nice to chat with the owner Christine of the beautiful cafe. They saw how difficult it was for people with food intolerances to find nutritious and delicious treats. They decided it was time to  make it easier for them to truly enjoy snacks and desserts. They also launched SMOOTHIE BOWLS just in time for summer! Choose from Pink Paradise Bowl made with dragonfruit, or Berry Bliss Bowl made with açaí. Both are topped with fresh fruit & their house-made gluten-free granola! --- Alms + Fare was founded with a mission to make sweet things simple, with treats that are delicious yet wholesome. By using just a few quality ingredients to create our snacks and desserts, they are sure to both benefit your body, and satisfy your sweet tooth. All of our treats are gluten free, dairy free, and naturally sweetened - with all the good taste still packed in. "We don't just make delicious treats, we're also on a mission to make healthy food accessible to all, to alleviate hunger, and to teach the importance of nourishing our bodies with good food. Every time you buy our treats, we donate to organizations who work toward this cause," said Christine. This is what the 'Alms'  in Alms + Fare is all about - charitable giving. Alms and Fare coffee dessert Christine Apthorp 904.419.9709 almsandfare.com 154 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida

Cute little coffee spot! We didn't want to get any pastries but they had a wide variety of them. I decided to get the seasonal pumpkin spiced latte. It was delicious very strong in spices! If you want to support local businesses and get your caffeine on I def recommend it! Cute little corner with great service!

I love the entire premise for this place!! Real ingredients and delicious bakery items! The shop is one the smaller side, with some seating inside and a small counter for ordering. Everything is very bright and airy in here, i love the vibe of the place. I've tried 5 of their bakery items now and each one was absolutely delicious, and bonus, that it made me feel good with the GF and DF!! The cookie bun, cinnamon roll, and snickerdoodle blondie were some of my favorites, but the pecan brownie and poptart were also great! You really can't go wrong with anything here! The only thing that I've noticed, is everytime i come, the baristas are not friendly and just seem like they don't want to be there. Not a big deal to me but ruins the energy sometimes. Other than that, this is the perfect place for anyone wanting a yummy sweet treat and coffee! The vegan, GF, DF options are delicious and not terrible for you too! I love it!!

Apple cinnamon "poptart" - mumbled "dang...that's freaking good" more than once.

First time trying Alms + Fare and it...naturally...didn't disappoint. We had excellent service, enjoyed the ambiance, and will definitely be coming back for their coffees and in house made treats.

    Megan L.

Can't even begin to describe the customer service of alms + fare! I reached out on their website asking if they made custom cakes and I was e-mailed back by Christine, the owner, stating that they could. We went back and forth about details for my mom's 60th birthday cake (she is gluten free and it's hard for her to find delicious desserts) and chose a pick up date and time. The cake was exactly what I asked for - a double layer coconut cake with micro flowers and they even wrote on it. It was very affordable, I totally expected to pay a lot more for the cake so I made sure to leave a tip. Super cute and clean inside. It was delicious as well..super moist and not too sweet. Thank you Christine and thank you Anna (for baking it!)

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. After I confirmed and thanked him, he rudely placed the menu on the table, turned around without saying another word or showing any basic courtesy, and just walked away with his back to us. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.

I also saw the shrimp and grits come out for someone else and that dish looked excellent. For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was a strong finish to the meal. Others at the table ordered the seasonal crème brûlée, which was chocolate that night. It looked great and everyone who had it said it was very good. Sunny was our waitress and she did an exceptional job. Attentive, kind, and on top of everything the whole night. In my mind this is about a 4.7 star experience, and I am rounding it up to a full 5 stars. Catch 27 is a great choice in St. Augustine.

More like a 3.5 but I'm rounding up - we came here for Valentine's Day, so I do want to take that…read moreinto account of our experience. There was no one at hostess stand because system was down and they were having troubles which I felt bad for the hostess who seemed stressed on obviously a busy night. They were out of both of the entrees we wanted, which was unfortunate but I ended up getting the catch beurre blanc and it was delicious. I ordered a sangria but our drinks took a very long time to come out, after our appetizer (crab, an heirloom tomato bruschetta which was yummy and more filling than regular bruschetta!) Overall, the food was really good and waitress was nice, but water was never refilled and everything took a really long time to come out. Would love to try it again on a regular night and hopefully they have the entrees we wanted to try:)
