I'm an avid coffee lover so on my trip to St.Augustine I had to visit all the coffee shops. I was most impressed by Alms + Fare. It's a bit out of downtown but definitely worth a visit. They have a ton of gluten-free baked goods and coffee options. I got a matcha with lavender honey. The matcha was made well which is not always the case! The star of the show for me was the Raspberry chocolate chip scone. There was fresh raspberry on top and chocolate chips packed throughout. I also got a lemon coconut bar which was so yummy you would never know it's gluten-free. read more

Cute little spot, I loved the decor. It was very chic! Came in today 5/6 since it was on my yelp bookmark list. Upon arrival there were two young girls working. It would have been nice to be greeted upon entering, but that didn't happen. I looked through the glass window at the pastries, and was hoping to be told the best selling pastry or coffee of the day type of feel. None of that here, I had to initiate I was ready to order. Nonetheless I ordered a dirty matcha (matcha with espresso) with no sweetner, a kids hot chocolate, a cinnamon roll $4.50, an honest kids juice box $2.00, and a banana chocolate nut bread $4.50. I didn't like the cinnamon roll it was hard, cold, and had a coconut flavor with a hint of cinnamon. My daughter liked her banana chocolate nut bread. My total was $20.00 seemed a bit steep. Now that I am thinking about it. I don't think I will be back, on the fact of prices for quantity and taste, as well as the non welcoming feel. read more

Nice small atmosphere. Ordered an iced latte with mocha syrup and a cinnamon bun. The latte came out okay. I just wish it were sweeter. The cinnamon bun on the other hand is delicious! Located just outside of downtown, and with a parking lot on the side, Alms + Fare is easy to get to and has a small indoor seating area. The decor is nature based with flowery motifs and a lot of natural light. The barista was very friendly and helpful with my questions. I surveyed the pastries and decided on a few to try. I asked questions about some of the menu items I had not seen before. I ordered the iced brew with maple and whole milk. It was good and not too caffeinated (some cold brews make me a little shaky)! I don't normally eat gluten free but I wanted to try these. The brownies were decent-a little cakey more than fudgey and the caramel didn't have a distinct flavor, it tasted more like almond butter. The berry pastry was ok, the topping was good but the bottom had a bit too much coconut flour flavor to me. The raspberry chocolate chip scone was by far my favorite! The bottom was fudgey and moist! The raspberry topping was sweet but not too sweet and really complimented the chocolate nicely. I will definitely be back on another visit to St. Augustine. read more

What can I say? It was great coffee and great pastries. All gluten-free, which is AMAZING!!! I had the crumb cake, which was great with hot latte. They were even extremely nice when it came to my English Bulldog, who was overhead from the walk over. Plenty of parking on side opposite the commercial parking lot. Lots of attention obviously went into details & the feel of the place, which I liked. Upscale/boutique. Expected high prices- that comes w/allergy friendly foods. Gals were nice when we walked in. Tried a cinnamon roll, coffee cake & raspberry bar. Cinnamon roll looked kind of small/dense but I never pass on a cinnamon roll. The other 2 looked promising. The raspberry compote on top of the bar was very flavorful. Unfortunately that is the only part we liked of the 3 items. Everything had an overwhelmingly powerful coconut flavor. I'm assuming they use coconut oil &/or flour. I was very grateful to find this place in St. Augustine! It seems to be really gluten free and clean. Super low sugar. They have a cinnamon roll that is descent but not great in terms of texture, which is not unusual for gluten free pastries. It was okay but not great. The texture of the blueberry muffin was perfect, but it didn't have many blueberries and little flavor. I also had an almond milk matcha, but it had way too much matcha. All this said the pastries are very healthy and are not going to throw your glycemic out of wack! The staff is super friendly and the place is super cute and sweet! read more

Adorable little bakery in St Augustine that caters to those of us who are...special. I have three food allergies (dairy, eggs and wheat) and never did I ever think I would be buying baked goods in a storefront! These guys do an amazing job of making you feel right at home the instant you walk in the front door of this cute little place. The staff is eager to help and answer questions and get you pointed in the right direction. The food! I got the "nutter butter cookies". OMG! Incredible smell and taste that transported me to my childhood. I've also got a pecan bar and a pop tart that are equally awesome. Thank you so much for existing! For all you do! For being there and understanding the plight of all of us who have gone without or only make stuff at home (sometimes it's just nice to grab something out like other people!). I see you. This is a cute little place directly across from The Fountain of Youth and the Old Jail. Walking up the sea foam green exterior gives off a feeling of serenity which is carried through within. We were greeted with a smile and a hello and served promptly. The array of fresh yummy pastries makes me want one of each. Instead of being a glutton I chose the pecan bar and my daughter chose the chocolate chocolate chip cookie. For our drinks I got an iced lavender honey latte with half almond milk and half coconut milk (they were running low on almond milk). My daughter got the iced matcha latte. The pastries were on point! 10/10! Both drinks were blended to perfection and tasted better than Starbucks! I will always come here when I'm in St. Augustine. read more

We were in St. Augustine three days; I chose to visit this shop every morning we were there. Everything in this shop is gluten-free and they have some egg-free options-both requirements for my diet. Baked goods made to these requirements are often are lacking in flavor, strange in texture and/or overly sweet. Over the course of my three morning visits none of the food I purchased there fell into these catagories. I tried all six of the confections that qualified for my diet and I found all delightful. I especially appreciated their carrot cake, two slices that I took on the road to consume later. The service is friendly and efficient. Truly a joyful part of our vacation in Florida. read more

The owner was super sweet and the staff was able to answer all our questions about the ingredients in the cakes( due to our allergies).
