    Such a cute store!

Stopped into this new spot with my sister on a Saturday visit to St. Augustine and was absolutely impressed! The shop was fully key lime flavored snacks and the walls were covered with framed pictures. I stopped in for a slice to go, and when I mentioned I wouldn't be eating it right away the sales associate helpfully recommended I get a frozen slice instead. I got the original key lime, but other flavors are available. The pie was perfect - tart, creamy, and a thin crumbly crust. I'll definitely be stopping in to try something else next time I'm in town!

I can't believe they opened this place which originally came from Key West. It's so cute with all the decor but the key lime is amazingggg. We tried their coconut key lime and it's a killer. I was supposed to come back to get a slice but couldn't. Next time for sure. I highly recommend it. They offer juices, water and cookies. You let you test them before you them. It's really gonna be a staple in St Augustine

    Nice slice.

We got about halfway to where we were going and decided we weren't going to make it there and back on time. We crossed the street and turned around to head back to where we were parked. We walked up to Carnival Sweets and immediately noticed how absolutely charming the store looked. You went inside and it's such a quaint little store. We were immediately greeted by two men who were just the kindest. I purchased two honey bun cow tails for my children and then I ordered two hot chocolates and a strawberry lemonade. To receive your drinks, you go out the side door to the left, around the back. The hot chocolate with some of the most decadent that I have ever had. It was incredibly rich and very flavorful. The strawberry lemonade was also delicious. Between the cleanliness, the cutest decor, the kindest staff, and the delicious drinks, I wish I lived closer to come here more often. This is definitely an establishment that deserves your money and time.

Not caring enough to order that specific flavor directly through Jelly Belly, I told myself the next time I was near a candy store I would see if they had that flavor. Sure enough, Mix and Match Candy Shop had that flavor and I was able to buy a few ounces of it. I opened the brown paper bag and loaded up my desired flavor. I walked over to pay the hipster cashier who looked like he was still on a bender from the night before. I handed him my money and he stared at the five-dollar bill I gave him. He pulled out his counterfeit pen and tested it on the five-dollar bill. I have to say, that was the first time I have ever seen someone test a five-dollar bill. It's five dollars and I'm buying jelly beans. It was sort of funny. The place was small, not really well labeled, but I got what I wanted and that's what matters. The prices were fair and the selection was decent considering the storefront was pretty small.

Every single year we bring our adult kids, our nieces, and our nephews to the same candy store to fill a bag like we've always done. This time some miserable woman at the register decided to accuse us of sticking our hands in the bins. Nobody did. Not one person. We're all grown adults. We opened the lids to look, then used the tongs like normal people. She still insisted someone reached in, like we were a bunch of dirty little thieves. Then, out of nowhere, she announces she's closing and we have to get out. Right then. No discussion. I asked if we could at least pay for the bag of candy we had already filled. She flat-out refused. Just "No. Leave." Like we were nothing. Twenty years of loyal visits, and this is how we're treated? She couldn't even take cash for what we already had in the bag. She just stood there looking sour and watching us like every customer is either a criminal or an inconvenience she has to endure. We will never set foot in that store again as long as she's working there, or if she's the owner. Absolutely ridiculous, hostile, and completely unnecessary.

Parking is a little tricky, but definitely doable. There's quite a bit of metered parking, and we were able to find a free meter on a Saturday by parking on a nearby side street. The moment we walked in, we were amazed, and clearly hungry, because everything looked so delicious! My daughter made a beeline straight for the $5 candy buffet, which she absolutely loved. It's such a fun and unique option for kids. The vintage bottle drink freezer was another highlight, so colorful and stocked with all kinds of interesting and nostalgic flavors. They also had some funny gag gifts and a great selection of bulk candy at reasonable prices. One of our favorite touches was the little train running around the ceiling, it's such a cute detail that really adds to the experience. They even have a penny press, so be sure to bring two quarters and a shiny penny! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot if you're looking for fun gifts or a sweet treat, especially for kids.

My wife and I stopped by on a Saturday for a tour of the candy making facility, where we learned a lot about how the chocolates and other candies are made, and we were even able to design and enjoy our own custom chocolate bar. This place has everything that a fan of sweets and fun can enjoy - retro candy, a colorful environment, and enthusiastic staff. From our tour with Joy, our complimentary sea salt caramel from Barbara, everybody on staff provided a joyous afternoon. The tour is highly recommended, where you'll get to see how the product is made, and even get to see one of the original Golden tickets from the original Wonka movie. Pricing for the tour is very reasonable, and it's a great way to spend an afternoon. Parking was easy right around the corner from the front entrance.
