The restaurant is beautiful. It's clean and inviting. They have seating if you just wanna come and get coffee and pastry.There are books, games and Puerto Rican dominos. My husband is Boricua and was not impressed with the daily special which was cubed steak and what do you call the rice with pigeon peas-arroz con grandules. He said it was ok. It lacked sazon -bit on bland side he felt. The pork sandwich was made in sweet bread -like a Cuban sweet bread. It did not go with the sandwich contents. The sauce was too much but if you eat the pork by itself -was good but got lost in the other ingredients. The pastry is not made there. It is made in a commercial kitchen most likely brought up from Orlando. The Mallorca bread rolls look nothing like they do on the island. This place has a yellow bread color to them on the inside. The cream in the middle saved the day and was delish with the bread. We felt it was expensive for the entrees and in Jax it would be far less expensive. Finally able to stop in and we were so glad. The service was excellent. Prices were great for the quantity and quality of food. Coffee roast was GREAT!'! Espresso and drip coffee. We enjoyed our food. We also took some pastries to-go which have not been eating yet, but look amazing! Inside is welcoming, spacious, and plenty of tables a couch all was pleasant. I was happy to see a bakery so close to my home. Visiting with my youngest littles, I found that I really enjoyed the pastries and cookies. The Polvorones were a buttery cookies with a guava center. We also had a few with just sprinkles. The Tornillo was a creamy filling of cream cheese and a sweet guava stuffed in a flaky horn pastry, amazing! Unfortunately, if you are in a hurry, you may want to rethink visiting. It took us 20 minutes to order, and receive 6 cookies, a pastry, and a juice boxes. (Two other customers in building) Also, the dining area has nice tables and couches to sit but it was dark at 9:30 am. I didn't find it very inviting. read more

Stopped in here this afternoon and picked up the La Amapola latte, gf cake and a rather enormous chocolate chip cookie filled with chocolate hazelnut. The latte was absolutely wonderful! Smooth and rich without being heavy the latte had just enough spice to make it a warm kiss on a very cold and cloudy day. The gf cake was rich and I definitely recommend you share it as it's plenty of two. Since I'm gluten free I didn't try the cookie but I'm pretty sure my daughter will love it. We stopped in after googling " coffee near us" while we were in St Augustine. I'm so glad we did! The service was friendly, and welcoming. They have a good selection of coffees and pastries as well as a breakfast menu. The seating was comfortable and ample. Very clean too! My Cortado was excellent. My husband had fresh squeezed orange juice, and it was exactly that! They squeeze the juice to order! Our pastries were fresh, and delicious. My husband was very pleased with his breakfast sandwich too. I highly recommend this great little cafe. They also had some sofas available for comfortable seating, with games stored neatly on a shelf. It would be fun to have coffee and play a game. read more

After we found out a new local Puerto Rican bakery and cafe had opened on U.S. 1 in Saint Augustine Shores we headed there pretty much immediately. This is a nice space with indoor tables and a large pastry case with a dozen or more desserts. We picked a chocolate tornillo, which is a cone-shaped pastry with filling, and a pleasantly green slice of coconut and pistachio cake. The tornillo was good with the right amount of pastry flakiness. The cake was incredible. Coconut and pistachio is a combination I didn't expect to work so well together. This is a cake to bring out of town visitors to try. read more

I loved this location when it was a Cuban bakery, and still love it now that it is a Puerto Rican bakery. The ambiance inside is clean, elegant, and relaxing. We had waffles, breakfast sandwich, iced latte, and coffee in house and 2 pastries to go. Everything was delicious and the cashier was very helpful and spot on with the coffee recommendations. The waffles were fluffy and the sandwich had a satisfying crunch. Highly recommended for parties of 4, though tables can probably be moved together. read more

I have been here several times for lunch and breakfast. Staff is very friendly and food is delicious with PR authentic flavors. Sandwiches made with "pan sobao", delicious with very generous portions. Service has been excellent. It is a blessing to finally have a a good PR bakery in the area.
