I have been coming to glory days for at least 15 years. This was the first time we struggled to get service. We had two servers, one got cut half way through, totally get it, but the person that took over checked on us once on her own, we had to ask the hostess if she knew where our server was, and we had to flag down a separate server because she just wasn't even out walking around to the various tables. The food and drinks are how they have always been, just sports bar food, nothing that stands out, but I would return to eat there to watch a game. Same decor and same everything from when I was a kid, just no more table radios to listen to the various TVs, that made me sad. They did some nice Halloween decorations! read more

I've eaten at Glory Days since moving to the area in 1996. Glory Days used to be amazing. New ownership moved away from dedicated GF fryers. We can no longer eat at Glory Days due to apathy by the new ownership group. Service is slow and food is meh. read more

We order from Glory Days a lot. Like weekly. We enjoy their food. But I'm just floored that they just took mozzarella cheese sticks off the menu this past week...what?? They've been on your menu for like 20 years!! Why would you do that? AND, my son who has autism and eats like 4 things total loved the kids pasta with Parmesan garlic cream sauce. We'd get 2 orders of it once a week, without fail. Now...off the menu! No kids pasta option!? Only Mac and cheese, which oddly enough he hates. C'mon Glory Days...you're killing me with these changes! Now our family can't eat here if there's nothing for our kid to eat on your menu. We had good service and hamburgers that I can't rate as good because there were only traces of tomato and lettuce. One small slice of tomato that was so thin I could almost see through it and a single small leaf of lettuce. Don't be so stingy and make your hamburgers better. read more

They offer a Thursday night medallion's special. If you are going to offer this, you should not run out of steak before 7 PM. I hate taking off a points as the visit overall was close to a 5. food wise everything as expected... server wise was a 5 star experience. So a visit that overall is 4 stars... So why three???? Seating!!!! We got there super early right at opening... we got seated in my hubbies fav corner booth location. We ordered and just before the food arrived the hostess sat a large party at the large booth RIGHT next to us... we thought... this is weird as their are two large booths than the 4 top north's up the side wall.... Why in this world they wouldn't have sat that table at the first large booth leaving a space is beyond me!!!! Now if they had been busy and this was the only spot I'd have had no issue since technically places are fully opened.... However as older adults eith issues we don't want to be this close to kids who nay if nay nit be vaccinated So hubby went up to the hostess that we needed to move .... And then the food came out snd our server was gracious enough to help in the move But I'm still shaking my head going WTF??? Seriously they need to space folks out even if not mandated. read more

Glory Days used to be one of our go-to neighborhood restaurants, but we've cut back on eating out. We always thought the food was tasty, with good sized portions and reasonable prices. Our dinner this evening was almost a total disaster. The chicken had great grill marks, but that was it. The chicken was overcooked, tough and tasteless, totally lacking seasoning, the steamed broccoli was straight from the steamer, without any butter or seasoning. The Glory Burger is everything I want in a burger: BBQ sauce, fried onion straws, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a fried egg; served with a side (fries, of course) and a pickle spear... yet, it was still missing something. I ordered my burger medium but it came out gray aka well done. Maybe it was missing some "rawness." The burger was good, but not "award-winning" as it's made out to be. What I found the most disappointing was the lack of service. When we were seated, none of us were given menus. We all sat there looking around confused, wondering what the deal was. Eventually we gave up and commandeered some menus from other tables. The menus are sticky-nasty. Our food was out at a reasonable time, but our waitress never came to check on us after and she did not refill drinks. Went at a time when it was pretty empty to watch the rest of the Orioles game and have a nice lunch. Service was okay. He was efficient and got me my food and drink, but wasn't a particularly friendly either. Got water with lime slices and he provided me with new water and lime as I was finishing the glass. I ordered quickly and got a summer special -- lobster roll with grilled corn on the cob. I wanted something more and asked about the soup and was told it was lasagna soup. Strange, but frankly it was like eating a bowl of liquified lasagna and was pretty darn good. Lots of good dishes at Glory Days Grill. My first time at this location, but I have been to a multitude of locations for this restaurant in the metropolitan area. Recommend giving the restaurant a try. We waited 10-15 minutes for a server to even greet us, then the drinks took another 10 mins, appetizer came with the main course (which took another 30-40 minutes) and the server was never anywhere to be found whenever we needed something. A recent revamp of the menu in the last two weeks removed A LOT of items. No longer can you get the brisket burger blend (which was probably one of the best burgers I've had). No more sliders, mozzarella sticks, or half orders of apps. No more pasta dishes. The "seasoned french fry" blend has changed for the worse. Had boneless wings this week and they were really overcooked. Sad that these changes seem to be making the menu go downhill. Otherwise, the staff and management is great and it's unfortunate that these changes that new ownership are implementing are for the worse. read more

I needed a quick meal tonight and decided to go to Glory Days Grill in Herndon. I was greeted by the door and seated promptly. My waiter took my order, and then kind of disappeared. I waited and waited for my food, but it never came. The managers asked me if everything was okay, and I answered that, no, I didn't receive my meal after an unusually long wait. I was ready to leave, but was convinced to stay with the promise of my food. Not only did I receive my meal, but I got almost double what I ordered, and was told there would be no charge. I was treated with concern by two managers, Jerry and Ty, and by one of the waiters. The food was perfect and the service was amazing. Food was adequate. This was the first time we had seen a balsamic vinegarette salad dressing that was a thick yellow mess. Further it had been mixed in great quantity into the salad so that was that. The cauliflower pizza had a crust that was reminiscent of chewy paper. Not worth the hype and arrived lukewarm at best. After two slices, it was stone cold and the cheese hard. Chili as always did not fail to deliver but that was the one bright spot for the entire meal. The two stars is for the chili. Service was deplorable and considering the young man was waiting on a total of three tables (two diners at two and one at the third) it shouild have been fine. His big problem was his intent to become best friends with everyone. We asked for drink refills and he checked in at length with two other tables before disappearing and it was NOT to get our drinks! The Manager came by and asked if we needed refills and stupid us, we told him no, the server was getting them. Our bad. Twenty minute wait for refills because the server passed by a second time and asked if we wanted refills like he had never asked us. We asked for the check. He took off and stopped by another table and proceeded to talk to the gentleman for twelve minutes (hooray for time tracking on the TV screen!). My husband passed the server on his way to the restroom and when he came out he was still standing chatting. My husband actually had to interrupt him to again ask for the check explaining that we indeed had to get back to the office. We waited over twenty minutes for our check. Also ordered were Onion Rings. Plus we shared a grilled chicken entree. I also ordered a Raspberry Lemonade. The wings were very good but far from the best I've had. The Korean #2 was somewhat bland. The Glory was good but only a slightly spicy bbq sauce. The Nashville was right on the money. The Onion Rings were very good with a near perfect coating. The grilled chicken was tasty. I went in this week with my mind set on ribs, with the glory sauce. Ribs take a long time, so realistically, you get a re-heated and re-sauced one. This is a given so I'm not expecting any backyard quality racks. Glory days Ribs to me are very good. They seem to know how to prepare it...that day however, it was bad, real bad. Among the other food that we ordered, we got two full racks. I was so hungry I wasn't paying attention or had second thought to how black and chewy my ribs were. Only after eating it did my wife point how dark and black they were on over 1/3rd of the surface area. This is why she was peeling or cutting those parts off. She snapped a picture just to put it into perspective (uploading here). I was like wow, I need to tell my fellow yelpers to take notice. I have some concerns that should be addressed. First off, no decent kitchen worker should even allow them to go out to a customer. I know they saw the condition, but rather than fixing things, they just sent it out. Second, no server should ever serve those ribs to a guest. They see the ribs and should for the best interest of their guests, tell them what happened or tell them something was not right and that it will be getting fixed. My son LOVES this place. Why? Because there are about 100 TVs there - and each table has it's own little radio - so you can listen in to whichever TV you really care about! So he can listen to his cartoon - while I watch sports - or just zone out. The macaroni and cheese is super yummy! I usually get the sliders - and they are great too! Today my co-worker and I were really excited about trying the cheddar ale soup, since it is a seasonal item. We were unhappy to find out that they only offer a single pretzel with the order when their online menu for this location clearly states that it comes with three pretzels. Greg said he would speak with the manager and after coming back on the phone he explained that it only comes with one. When my co-worker went to pick it up she showed them a screen shot of the online menu that states it comes with three pretzels and again he said he could speak with the manager but he did not. It would have been nice to have better clarification or three pretzels as stated on their online menu. The advertising is misleading and disappointing that there was no compensation. I have been going to this Glory Days for a while and I think it gets better and better. I love that they change the menu seasonally. Now it is summer. The caprese salad seemed expensive at $10.99, but when it came to the table - it was huge. And the different heirloom tomatoes were at their peak. The mozzarella was a wonderful counterpoint to the bright acid of the tomatoes, the basil had the nice peppery punch you expect and the balsamic glaze brought it together. This is a salad that is only good when all the components are good. This one had everything you could hope for. We recently tried the shrimp and avocado cocktail. It was also large. For me, the dressing was too sweet, but it was fine for my husband (trade!!). We also tried the turkey BLT. I was suspicious of the Texas toast, thinking it would be too overwhelming. Not so - but the turkey (while tender, nicely seasoned and thinly sliced) was almost too much! See the picture. But, we managed to eat it all! In the fall, I thought their Teriyaki burger special was very tasty - messy, yes - but full of teriyaki, bacon and Asian slaw yumminess. I also thought their meatloaf was real comfort food. They do a great job with salads - I like either the grilled or fried chicken on them. Hard to say which was best. Service is always friendly and quick. The weekday manager is great - very helpful. And we finally went on a weekend day and that manager was very friendly as well. I had ordered the special Ruben and loved it. He recommend I try the corned beef and cabbage and said his favorite special was the shepherd's pie, So, today I had the corned beef and cabbage. A HUGE thick slab of tender beef. A nice wedge of cooked cabbage. Some boiled potatoes and baby carrots. It was great - but so much that I had to bring home big piece of the meat. It won't go to waste! Your run of the mill local sports bar but super enjoyable and not divey. Owner is really nice and the staff is great. We've been several times and never had a negative experience. We've had (and enjoyed): Beef on Weck Bacon Cheeseburger Philly Cheesesteak Triple Cheeseburger (USDA PRIME) Coconut shrimp (yummy) MD crab dip (sooo good) Chowdah Wings (always a great choice. Wish they had more spicy options. hint: ghost pepper) FRIES Basically you can't go wrong with this place and menu. There is something for everyone and you'll all go home happy.
