So it's June and I made the move from Hyattsville to Arlington, VA and was referred to GMS by my BF. I knew that this company was great because they moved him into his new place under 4 hours and he had a lot of stuff... A... LOT. I had to pleasure of having Chris, Nico and Zico as my movers. Although I didn't have that much to move, I was making two stops. One to my friend's place to bring my couch and later to my new residence. Unfortunately for me, I moved during rush hour in DC, lucky for me, I had Global Moving Systems. They arrived and promptly got to work taking apart my beds and wrapping my couch and pillows up. They were done within an hour and we were off to our first stop. Once they arrived, my friend requested that the couch be placed upstairs in the living room. Unfortunately, the couch was too wide to move up the stairs. Although my friend and I focused on relocating the couch downstairs, the movers offered other options to getting the couch upstairs. I liked that they they were dedicated to getting the couch upstairs. They could have given up and said okay to sending the couch downstairs but they didn't. To no avail, the couch had to to go downstairs and it was quickly done so that we can get to our final destination. DMV traffic was horrible on my moving day and it delayed the truck arriving at my new residence, but that was definitely understandable. The team worked quickly to get my items into the house with no marks to the furniture and walls. I am very pleased with my experience. They were affordable, quick, thorough, professional and nice guys. I will definitely refer GMS to others for future moves. read more

My crew was Two brothers from Georgia (the country) and they were phenomenal and personable. I am qualified to asses then: My family was in the moving business for over 40 years: They were on time and worked the asses off, always with a smile or a laugh. Our move was tough, tons of stairs, tricky corners and we have some very large heavy furniture. They never flinched and had a solution for everything. They packed our 80 inch TV better than Samsung did when I bought it. The younger brother is a master packer and the older brother could carry any weight furniture in his back while carrying two book boxes on the front to balance the move. They worked non stop of 11 hours to get it done... no crew I have worked with would have finished in less one day. Call Anna Gree n at GMS at ask for Misha and Lisha the Georgian Brothers. Tip them well and buy them some pizza when they provide you with a great move. read more

Global Moving Systems were fast, focused, and completely transparent. I first contacted Julia from Global Moving Systems in May and followed up with Eugene. We had a small move, mostly boxes, and within 200 miles. Not many moving companies were willing to do this kind of move. Julia and Eugene were very up-front with the costs and their minimum pricing. I chose Global Moving System because of their honesty and their great reviews. We moved in June. They sent a 24-ft truck and 3 guys (Erik, Vadim and Aziz) right on time. They started loading immediately. I was leaving most of the furniture so I was worried they would load something that was staying. But all I had to do was explain what I wanted, and point out the areas and boxes they needed to move, and they got it done, I only had to explain/show them once. I had already boxed up most of my belongings so whenever they had to use their own materials (boxes, tape, bubble wrap) they asked before they used it and disclosed all costs prior to using it. They never used any of their own materials without an okay first. Originally I had asked them to make an additional stop to pick up an appliance on the way to my new location. They were more than willing to do it, no extra charge; the additional stop would've been incorporated into the labor and travel time. I decided not to make the extra stop, but it was nice knowing it was an option. The guys arrived at my new location about 30 minutes before I did. The guys immediately started the unload. Unfortunately my spouse did not know where to direct the unload. Fortunately, when I arrived, the guys were more than willing to move the boxes again. WHEW! Some shelves and some of the boxes went into the attic (I have attic steps). I felt bad, it was hot in the attic, but the guys did not complain at all. I asked them to rearrange a couple of the shelves to the other side, no problems, no complaints. They were finished right on schedule. The Foreman detailed all the costs and materials on the invoice. After the guys left, I walked around surveying the move. I decided I wanted the exercise bike moved upstairs to a different location. But they had already left, so I resigned myself into carrying it upstairs myself. Just when I was getting ready to move it, the truck and guys were back in my driveway because after they left, they realized we had not added the numbers correctly, so they had to return. Wow...how fortunate for me. I was not looking forward to moving that heavy and awkward piece of exercise equipment, so I asked if they would do that one last move. The guys had already changed into clean and dry T-Shirts, but they jumped out of the truck and moved the equipment. No complaints, no comments. They were very very nice about it. I was glad I decided to give them each a healthy tip. I did not have any damage. All my boxes arrived in tact. All my belongings were moved and moved again to where I wanted them. They arrived on time. They started immediately. The time they estimated was right on point. I felt like I got a fair price (they have Yelp discounts and Military discounts). Erik, Vadim and Aziz were awesome workers. I had a feeling of trust that they would take good care of our belongings. Thanks for a good experience. read more

Eugene and his team are the absolute best! They work quickly and efficiently. I looked long and hard for a company that worked well for my budget. A lot of companies charged extra for steps and had hidden fees. There were no hidden fees with Global Moving Systems. I was soooo amazed at how effortlessly they carried out my furniture. Without hesitation they placed each item in the rooms they belonged in. If I ever need another moving company I will contact Eugene and his crew and I will be recommending this company to my friends. Thank you so much for your help guys! read more

Global moved my folks locally in the Falls Church/Alexandria area and they exceeded my expectations on all levels. They called with a 30 minute heads up and had a timely arrival during the 2-hour window. The three guys were so efficient that the move took about 1/2 the time I'd mentally prepared for, working within some inconvenient elevator restrictions at the new place. The guys communicated well, took care in wrapping/protecting antique furniture, and never stopped moving until the job was done. We'd definitely use them again! read more

Great moving company! Fair pricing, easy to schedule, they reached out to confirm and sent a reminder about the scheduled moving times. By far the easiest, smoothest move I've ever lived through! Thank you to Erik, Beso, and Lasha for making this move so easy!! read more

Fantastic movers. Timely and accurate communication, professional movers who arrived on time. The office was awesome in providing an accurate quote. On moving day, the 2 guy team called to let me know when they'd arrive. They were prompt. And they were fantastic to work with as they loaded everything into the truck. They wrapped and secured everything with care but hustled and got all loaded very quickly. They met my husband at a storage unit and he was impressed with their speed and care...and he's very picky. All in all we are extremely pleased with this company and would recommend them for moving services! read more

I'm very disappointed with my recent move on 8/31/2018. I moved (20)minutes away from my old address and it took them 3.5 hours to move me to my new place of residency. It costed me about $140.00 extra for just a local move. I only had items from a studio apartment so I didn't have a lot of items to move. The two guys were very slow and it took them about (30) to (45) minutes to find the loading dock at my old building. I get that I was on the other side of the building, not close to it at all. But even I could have moved a lot faster than the two guys who helped me move with my own stuff. I give them one star because they did get moved from point A to point B in 90 degree weather. However, they did not wrap up any of furniture items to protect it and as a result one of the nice lamps that my mom bought from Macy's was damaged and broken. They just threw all my items in one big bin. They did reassemble my bed back and help put down my new mattress and that was it. I had to unpack all of my boxes and put the shelves back up for my book cases all by myself. BEWARE!!!!! The services that they offer over the phone and on their website is not what they actually offer. Also, they charge you a ridiculous amount of money for boxes, do make sure you don't run out of any or else you'll be stuck like me, where you have to pay $11.00 for a small size box. Don't say that I didn't warn you! I will not be using their services again. read more

I used Global Moving Systems for a DC to New Mexico Move in January/February of 2022. They were great. The quote I received was spot on (but you do have to be honest up front with the items you are moving). They didn't have any hidden fees and no sudden extra charges after they picked up. They do contract out the pick up and delivery (I did not employ packing services, but the pick-up crew did wrap my furniture). The guys for pick-up arrived on time and moved me out of my 3rd floor walk-up very quickly. I was provided with a window for delivery and they scheduled that right about the half way mark. The crew for delivery was larger and had all my things moved in within an hour. I was so happy with this company and the crews they hired. I've done a cross country move in the past (with less stuff) and of course as soon as that company had my stuff, they decided to hold it until I paid them twice as much. So I was incredibly wary, but GMS did not do that. I was very happy with their booking system. I could use their web form and walk through my apartment, checking off everything I had. They confirmed over a phone call. They sent a confirmation with their cancellation policy, everything was very clear and up front. And they still came in almost $2000 less than every other company I called, and had better reviews. I would absolutely use them again if had another move. read more

I used Global Moving Systems yesterday to move the furniture of my two-bedroom apartment to another two-bedroom apartment. Both apartments are located on the second floor and there is no elevator. The three men from Global Moving Systems arrived on time and they were very helpful in my move. They each treated my possessions with care and took the greatest care with my furniture moving from point A to point B. Everything was in perfect shape in the move, they worked fast, and they were very helpful in making a stressful event easy. An added plus for this company? They helped me assemble my headboard and roll out my newly-shipped area rug. As a single woman, I truly am grateful for the extra help. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Global Moving Systems. read more

Moving is stressful, but Baynaa and big naagii enkhee were the best! They broke down all our furniture, packed everything in a timely manner, and put everything where we wanted (even when we changed our minds). They even built our furniture for us. Alex and his colleague were great. They showed up early, got everything done quicker than expected, and had a great attitude. They worked their asses off. Highly recommend if you're looking for movers. read more

I cannot recommend enough the outstanding performance of Global Moving Systems. Courteous, considerate, polite, professional and efficient doesn't even begin to describe this phenomenal outfit. I was moving from a bedroom in a house into an apartment, and had a full size bed, mattress, large desk and bookcase I needed help with. I thought for sure most of it would need to be disassembled to move and reassembled once in the new location. Eugene, the owner, gave me a great quote. His workers were prompt and incredibly efficient--they were able to move the desk as a whole down and around a very tight and narrow corner in one fell swoop without damaging anything. The bed, however, did need to be taken apart but they put it back together very quickly once in the new place. All in all the entire thing took two hours, and we came in under the price estimate! I was amazed! When I thought that my bed had been assembled incorrectly, Eugene was immediately on top of it. He waived the credit card fee and came out personally the next day to fix it for me. This kind of customer service is rare today, and I feel LUCKY to have chosen them. Stop searching for a moving company, because you just hit the jackpot. read more

The Global Moving Systems team are very organized and courteous, which is greatly appreciated when moving can be so stressful. They far exceeded my expectations. I had no clue that I had so much stuff until it was time to move. They got everything packed up and on the truck and to my next location with ease. Thank you for your hard work. read more

This company deserves 10 stars if they have it on the rating. I was so impressed with Anna when I first talked to her. She went to all the processed and walked me through the process. The movers (3 guys) came on time. They are young, energetic but very professional well trained. They came inside the house and evaluated what needs to be moved first. They were very careful with our furniture making sure it won't touch the wall or damage it. At the end of the move, there's some items that they couldn't fit in the truck. The lead guy managed to call his buddy to come and take up the rest of it. This shows that they know how to solve the problem. There was some scratch in some furniture which I did the claim. Again, no drama from this company. It was easy process. I highly recommend this company. I wish they do cross country (from somewhere else to VA) because we will need one!! read more

These guys do a great job! First they were super responsive to all of my questions leading up to the move date. They arrived in the promised time frame and executed our move with care while still working very quickly. We filled up the entire truck and they worked very hard to make it all fit. We are about 75% done unpacking and nothing is broken. They took care of the walls and floors when moving large furniture through doorways as well. Just a note, if you would like your tv's specially wrapped you will need to pay for the materials, but that's to be expected, otherwise do it yourslef prior to their arrival. I cannot say enough about this company, we were pleasantly surprised and felt the price was fair for the work provided. read more

Nick and his team did my move a few weeks ago. They were on time, quick, super polite and great movers. I made their lives a bit easier by having everything 100% packed by the time they got there. I would recommend this company. They were in the mid price range. Their customer service before and during the move was superb. One note: they don't move plants because they don't have ways to secure them in the truck. I understand this. Just be prepared to move your own plants. I have a large 5 ft. plant that I needed to put in my car to move. This was the only very minor comment about them. It is understandable though. I was VERY pleased with my move and would hire them again. read more

After 30 years living in our house in Virginia, we hired Global Moving Systems to move our possessions to California. To say they did a fantastic job is an understatement. The price was within our budget. The staff members were patient, personable, and extremely competent. The movers arrived on time, packed our possessions, and took them to California. When the boxes arrived, each item was in the same condition as it was in Virginia. If we ever move again, I will definitely use this company. read more

I used Global Moving Systems this past weekend. From start to finish they were very professional. Stefan explained everything very clearly and took the time to listen to and answer my questions. I put down the 10% deposit and waited for the move day. Erik, Vadim and Valijon came on time. They all worked like robots, they all know what to do and were very organized. They made a hard move with lots of furniture look easy. I already recommended them to some of my friends. Easy 5 star for me. read more

I used Global Moving System's services on March 12th. I was very pleased with the service I received. The two movers were very professional and the moving process was fairly quick; despite moving from the fourth floor of a building that had no elevator. The movers were kind enough to make sure my glass table top got transported safely by waiving the fee for the protective glass cover. I had to pay $500 to reserve the elevator in my building; just in case it got damaged during the move. After the move, the staff in the building inspected the elevator and returned my $500 since there was no damage. I analyzed the prices for 9 different movers in the DMV area and Global Moving System had the best price. I am glad that the great price came with excellent service. read more

Please note there are two unrelated companies doing business as Global Moving Systems. You are reading the reviews for the company out of Virginia that appears to be a good company with an "A" BBB rating and many good reviews below. The other company using this name is out of Florida and is a scam company. They rely on people mistaking them for the legitimate company out of Virginia. They currently have an "F" BBB rating and 100% of their Yelp reviews are "1". I made this mistake and it has been a nightmare. I am posting this in hopes I can prevent someone else from doing the same. read more

My last move did not go very well so this time I did my research to ensure I had. Better experience . Everything about my experience with this company was A+! The receptionist Anna was super responsive and had me my quote very quickly . When I had questions she promptly called back . On the day of my move Eugene called me , he was so cheery and was legit happy to come and move me! I shared with him I had already bought boxes and was trying to keep under a specific budget and he shared with me where we could cut costs and he didn't even charge me for some of the white glove extras ! His good mood was contagious and although I had been nervose about this move I knew from this mans attitude s everything was gonna go great ! When he and his team showed up , they quickly and carefully got everything packed up . I had to ask them to make a quick stop ( not previously scheduled ) to drop off a piece of furniture . No problem at all ! When we arrived at my new home he quickly got his team in , set up my furniture and even took. Ton of garbage ( boxes ) with him . This man clearly knows how to run a business , and his team was excellent ! This was a 180 degree difference than my last moving experience and I'm going to make this company one of my " most preferred when my friends ask me who they should use ! Outstanding customer service , service with a smile , quality and affordable . Why can't every thing be this easy ? read more

Perfect move! From start to finish everything Global offers is beyond 5 stars. I'd give them 10 if I could. Move description: Mclean VA to mount pleasant SC (approx 550 miles) Full house - family of 4 Estimate: Eugene (owner) immediately cane out to assess the move and quoted an extremely fair, competitive and flat rate. It did not change and was completely honored. Pick up: 4 guys. Very strong. VERY courteous. Nick was the man in charge - incredible guy - total pro. They put down pads and floor covers. They wrapped all the Furniature nicely and loaded a 26 foot truck to the top in less than 5 hrs. Delivery: The next day! Keep in mind they just drove a 26' truck 550 miles! Nick and lahska (sp?) unloaded. It was same top notch service. They work HARD! Almost everything went upstairs and it was no problem for these 2 guys. Plus they Put down pads - total pros. They also unwrapped all the Furniature (which they put down with the greatest of care). And offered to help assemble beds. Dressers. Etc. Close: Was very easy. Signed off on the iPad and we were done. They congratulated me on the new house and were all smiles. Absolutely hands down best move experience ever. I'll never use anyone else. Tips for other movers: - treat these guys well and respectfully and they will do great work for you. Plus it's the right thing to do. - get them something to eat other than pizza. I had them fill out a chipotle order - tip well. They deserve it. read more

The break down is clear and the rate is fair. If i have another move，i will definitely hire global moving system again. read more

I have moved 9 times in New York City and three times since living down here. I have never... EVER... had a better moving experience than I had today. Andrew and Baxter were so fast, efficient, and polite during the move. Not only did they finish an hour before the time I was quoted (I had a lot to move) but not a single item of mine was scratched. I would highly recommend Global Moving Systems for an interstate move. They are extremely flexible and the actual teams sent for the move were professional and friendly. Everything arrived safely and they even were able to accommodate our requested delivery date! Great value for the money. The one recommendation I would give is for them to be more proactive in reaching out to their customers. Fast and easy pick up process in the beginning... once it came time to deliver, it was hard to pinpoint a delivery date. I received a date range, which included Thanksgiving, then one day I received a call they could deliver the next day (11/20) . The driver showed up on time. He came into the apartment and charged me for the flight of stairs, since it wasn't on the original paperwork. The movers were done about an 1 hour and 1/2 later. There were boxes everywhere. He told me he didn't have time to take and dispose of the boxes... meanwhile, most of these boxes and blankets remain at my place because they unpacked my stuff! I had to ask for them to unwrap big things, like TVs, etc. so I could examine it to ensure it was in-tacked. 1 TV, 2 mirrors, and 2 paintings were never unwrapped. With 4 movers, I didn't feel I had time to truly look over everything all at once. Before I knew it, I'm rushed to sign paper work because they were done. My china cabinet doesn't stand straight and a piece at the bottom won't stay in place. The pickup was a great experience, but the delivery was pretty average. If you decide to go with Global Moving Systems, check all your stuff before signing any paperwork. read more

Evgeny was so professional. I got many quotes and bids. He is the only one that came out to my house and met with me. He took an inventory so he could give me the best and most accurate estimate. I told him my concerns and issues with the move he came up with a couple of options which we went with and I am SO glad we did. He is VERY busy man but this was all OK since he always called me back and he explained how things were going to well so that I understood. There was no guessing at all. His moving team was money! They were professional. Nick runs his team and explained his process and answered all my questions. He also wanted to make sure they they were all on the same page with me. We had to go to storage for a month and made me feel so comfortable. The team was so good that we requested them for the unload. In fact we moved days around for them. GMS is so flexible and making sure they can get it right by doing you right. A little but of advice... Have EVERYTHING ready when they get there. They move fast and work VERY hard but if you are not ready you will slow them down. This in the end will cost you money. We were ready in fact they said they wish all the moves were ready for them when they arrived. Thank you Evgeny and your employees! Kudos to a well run business. Customer service was amazing. I am also very loyal so you will see us again. Thank you! read more

I'd like to start off by saying that the two gentleman that completed our move were very professional, cared for our belongings and did an overall excellent job from beginning to end. I got into contact with Global Moving Systems after submitting a request for quotes through Yelp about a month ago and spoke with the owner via e-mail before submitting my request to move later that same day. I was contacted by one of their reps to obtain a COI and asked if the size of the truck would be within the guidelines required by my building's loading dock. The representative confirmed multiple times that the truck would be under the clearance of the required height so that the gate to the loading dock could be closed/locked in order to maintain security of the property through key fob access. The truck that was confirmed was a 16' box truck with a 10' clearance; however, the truck that was dispatched was a ~24' truck with a 13' clearance. The truck was so large that it had to park illegally in the alley way and the gate to our building was not closed in order to maintain security of the building. This caused quite a ruckus with our building move coordinator and then us as the current tenants because of the Rules and Regulations set forth by the HOA. Fines of up to $1,000 can be imposed for illegal moves and moves can be cancelled, forfeiting a hefty security deposit and move fee and requiring both to be paid again to re-reserve the loading dock. Luckily, we were able to complete our move, but it took much longer than expected due to the distance between the unit, loading dock and the truck that was parked away from the building. Also, because there were two movers, there had to be someone (myself or my husband) standing outside during the entire move out to make sure our belongings were safe. This would not have happened if the truck was in the loading dock. My issue was with the owner. Immediately upon seeing that the truck was way too large, I contacted Global to discuss the impact that this would have. I advised of the fines and potential fines the truck would get for being parked illegally as well as my disdain for being advised incorrectly, multiple times, that the truck was of the correct size. The owner told me that he would waive any additional moving costs outside of the minimum amount of hours and pay any fines incurred as a result. When I sent an e-mail to Global to receive something back in writing that this was agreed upon, the owner called me directly and denied that he agreed to paying the fines (if they were to be imposed). The e-mail I received back from Global did not address my concerns and further impacted the move. The owner told me that the move should be cancelled, truck unloaded and then they would bring back another truck that would work. The problem is, we already almost completed the move illegally, so the fines would be incurred regardless. I found the owner to be slightly argumentative and it further made me upset because I was already stressed out from the issues and the fact that it was our moving day. The owner called the movers, which then made it sort of awkward and stressful between them and us because the owner was unhappy. He should have just kept the conversation between us and then called once the move was completed to avoid any issues. Upon completion of the services, we went to pay and were advised that "we would have needed to make two trips anyway, so the price would remain at the rate and hours used." Peeved at what I had been told before vs. now was not acceptable to me. In order to avoid an argument, I agreed to pay the amount on the bill - but I'm not so sure that I can trust Global in the future. I can trust that the movers will do a great job, but I don't have the confidence in the owner to keep me coming back for any additional moves. Telling me that I would have had to take multiple trips between homes to move and then "we didn't charge you for packing/boxes/etc." was not a way to make me happy - nor were we ever asked if we wanted them to pack any loose items.. We could have come back during the scheduled cleaning to grab any loose ends ourselves. read more

I really wanted to give these guys a glowing review. I did so much research on moving companies and read so many horrible reviews about them that these reviews and the A+ BBB rating had me feeling good. Maybe it's because it was a cross-country move and most reviews are for local. Let me start off by saying that they were not bad, they just weren't that good either. The price was good and everyone was very friendly, but communication was really bad and they barley met the higher limit of delivering our stuff, which was 21 business days from first date available, that's a full month. But most companies gave me the same time frame. We moved near the end of December (12/20 pickup) which I understand with the holidays could slow things down. We drove across the country making a few stops and arrived in San Diego on 12/29, so 12/30 was our first available date. I had originally asked if we would have to worry about our stuff being delivered after 1/25 since on the 26th we were going to San Antonio for the weekend and was told it shouldn't be a problem. After about two weeks, maybe 1/11 I hadn't heard anything (call or e-mail) so I called to get an update and was told our stuff hadn't left Alexandria yet. But not to worry as it should be on a truck Monday (1/15) and I'd get an update when it was on the road. On Tuesday I hadn't heard anything so I called again. I was told it was being loaded today and they would e-mail me the name and phone number of the driver. I never got an e-mail or call from Global. On Wednesday (1/17) the driver called me and said he would be there late next week. I told him that I wouldn't be available Friday (1/26) or that weekend. He said they should get there by Thursday and would call me at least 24hrs before. On Wednesday (1/24) around noon I hadn't heard anything and called the driver. He said the truck broke down and they weren't sure how long they'd be. I let him know again that I wouldn't be available 1/26-28 but would be back on 1/29 and available all week. He said OK and he'd give me a call at least 24hrs before. On Sunday (1/28) around 11am he called saying he'd be there at 6pm. I said tomorrow, Monday? He said no, tonight. I said I'm waiting for a flight in San Antonio and won't be home until around 11pm. He said he could come Monday morning at 6am. He showed up around 7am Monday (1/29). There were a couple damaged items, all that they wrapped. I wasn't too upset because I don't think that maybe 2% damage of a 3BR house moving 2,700mi. is too bad. Though every glass item I was required to wrap was fine. The price was good, I did get my stuff mostly all intact, and it was within the time frame I was quoted, though that was really long. But mostly for the really bad communication I wouldn't use this company again. From the other reviews I would have to assume their local moving were you don't need to communicate as much is much better. But for long-distance I'd look somewhere else. Though it'll probably cost you. My sister said her 5BR move (from Baltimore to Denver) cost her a little more than double what I paid, but was easy without issues. Sorry I don't know what company she used. read more
