If I need to move again I will 100% go with Global Movers. I've moved 6 times in just over 5 years so have dealt with a slew of movers. These guys were without a doubt the best! I actually found them through Yelp, and thought that this many 5 star reviews can't be wrong, and they weren't! Erick and Chris were my movers and they did everything right (and this is coming from someone who is pretty picky). Let's start with calling me to let me know their ETA. This was super helpful. I have beautiful oak floors and they literally (I kid you not), put down a red carpet throughout the house to protect the floors and were so careful. They treat your house as you would, with the upmost respect. I have to say that they were so quick and efficient, they beat me to the new spot, and were moving constantly for the entire 3+ hours. These guys really are professional and I can't find enough good things to say. Movers can be two extremes and these guys gave me piece of mind, which during a move is invaluable. Unlike a lot of other movers they don't at all nickel and dime you. The price is VERY fair and are willing to make you a deal (and in fact have one through Yelp that will save a few $$). read more

Global Moving Systems was great from beginning to end. We were really stressing out about the move and were pressed for time, so we hired GMS to take care of everything. Despite a somewhat short notice for a reservation, they were able to put us on their schedule for the day and time we needed, and the movers were punctual and professional. What we really appreciated was that we had a certain time that we needed them to arrive by, no earlier, and they showed up at the time they said they would. They worked extremely hard and showed care with our belongings--furniture, clothes, everything. With their help, we were able to get out of our old place in a timely fashion and move into our new home pretty seamlessly. We literally could not have done it without their help. Very impressed! We also appreciated that there was nearly an immediate response to all questions/concerns/communications we had with the owner. Everything that was discussed over the phone and agreed upon regarding our needs, they followed through on. There were no sneaky hidden fees, everything was simple and straightforward. The owner was great to work with, very pleasant and upfront. At the end of the move, the mover who billed us for time, etc. had some confusion over a specific billing detail, but Eugene followed up very quickly, clearly explained everything, and was more than fair with us. I was very satisfied with Global Moving Systems. The movers were on time and ready to work. I was satisfied with interviewing with Global and how they followed up both by phone and email. I was given an hourly rate discount and although we went over our time by two hours, I anticipated it so we did not complain. There was more inventory than I anticipated we would have. The only issue I had was that initially they had on masks, then they took them off and never put them back on. I asked them to put them back on and they didn't. It was hot and very muggy that day. I should have asked if they were vaccinated but I was busy monitoring the move. I had on a mask, though. I would recommend Global Moving Systems. read more

I highly recommend Global Moving Services. We decided to use them after researching several moving companies based on the positive reviews and their reasonable costs, and we are so glad we did. Right from the start, they were very responsive and answered all my my questions. They were upfront about costs and sent a quote. My experience with Global Moving Systems was exceptional. We had a team of three movers (Erik, Ziko, and Tomas). They were on time and called a half hour before arriving to let me know they were on their way. They were very personable and carefully and efficiently moved all of my furniture in less time than estimated. Yesterday I moved in my new apt. I initially thought I can do it all by myself with some help from friends with the heavy items. Until I realized that I'm not strong as I thought :) I needed help ASAP, i called Global Moving Systems and within an hr or so they were at my door!! The team worked very diligently taking the furniture apart, wrapping what needed to be wrapped and moving heavy, bulky objects through narrow ways and I never heard a bang or saw scratch left behind on a wall or floor. We have white walls and walnut wood floors that were not hurt by any of these guys moving heavy furniture out of the house. Horrible horrible horrible! Don't ever use them!!!! Ever!!! They arrived at 9:15 am I find one sitting on the phone talking and had to tell him to keep Moving! Then it has never taken my family 12 hours to move ever! We are military and have moved every few years and this by far has been the worse! We were almost through with the grueling move and then we start to discuss time/payment! This crazy man says 11 hours and I said I'm not paying that! And the worse part is our furniture is all over the house and nothing put together!!! He says I'm keeping your TV's if you don't pay so I called the cops! Of course no emergency so they take forever! We then tell the guy we'll pay them a little extra try to meet in the middle and then he proceeds to talk about the tape he used that it's $5 a roll! They never disclosed that and they used about 30 rolls! I begin to laugh and walk away while letting my wife handle it because I was about to flip my lid! We are sitting here currently at 8:50pm talking about flipping tape! Kids screaming feed me....no where to sleep, he's nickel and diming us and I'm seriously about to freak out! My husband and I used this service twice during our move. Once to move out of our condo and into a storage unit, and then from the storage unit to a town house. Both times we were very happy and satisfied with the service. The first crew did take a little longer than we expected, but mostly because they had to deal with an oversized couch that didn't fit through our narrow stairwell. Eventually they lowered it over a third floor balcony, and safely got it to the ground without any damage. The crew was wonderful and helpful and always willing to help pack and take more stuff. Our second crew (led my Ason) was amazing! They were very quick, with each mover handling more boxes and furniture than we expected on each trip. They moved everything into our home faster than expected and did not mess up our walls! The crew was very courteous and asked where each item should go, and were willing to take the items to every room of the house. We would highly recommend this company. Fully deserving of 5 stars (and more) - my wife and I moved from Rockville to Silver Spring this past Saturday - the GMS team arrived within the time window Eugene quoted. They made sure to review which items were being moved and from where, if any additional supplies (boxes, shrink wrap, etc.) were needed (costs for items seemed reasonable), and quickly disassembled our IKEA furniture. The movers (led by Alex) were quick, efficient, and polite throughout, even as we made several adjustments to the positioning of the furniture into the new place. I reached out to friends for recommendations when we needed a moving company. They recommended Global Moving Systems who provided us a fair quote so we went with them. We needed movers to get my things from a third floor townhouse in DC with very narrow stairs, then go to an Arlington apartment to get my boyfriend's things, and then to our final destination also in Arlington. Our movers were Vlad, Alex and Baha. They all did an excellent job and were very efficient with the move. We had a misunderstanding of the travel time being the time it takes them to get to and from us (the book-end, not travel during the move) but after it was explained to us, we understood. It did however take them a long time to travel from the DC home in Dupont Circle to the apartment in Arlington, VA (an hour, when it took us 20 minutes). They said it was due to certain roads that they can't take the truck on. So that was the only downside because that travel time ended up costing us a bit more overall since it ate into our overall moving time - just something to keep in mind. But they loaded up my stuff and my boyfriends both in about 35 minutes and unloaded everything in about an hour. I would definitely recommend them.
