We went to the beach before heading back to AZ. We ran across Gaucho known for their Empenadas. Nice outside patio and playground is 20 feet away. Service was good and fast. Food took a little bit but waiting for goodness takes time! The Pork Empenada was amazing flavor flowing through every bite leaving you to want more! They do have a dozen box for $45 for sale. The Ocean Mate was refreshing made with their house lemonade. Listen they have very reasonable prices, you have to give them a shot, you will not be disappointed!! read more

Visited here randomly after a yoga by the beach sesh. We loved that they had available tables and although seating was first come first serve, with no host guidance the service was great and our server was super attentive and nice. My drink was too spicy and they changed it super fast. The food was delicious and although we demolished the food before taking pictures, everything tasted good and the price was so worth it. read more

I came here on a weekday with family and it didn't seem crowded. I was dissatisfied in the amount of time it took to receive our order, considering the crowd. There are nice seating areas and there's a great view of the beach. You can also watch people while you eat. I ordered a cheeseburger which was prepared well and tasty. Unfortunately my sister's order was a disappointment. Her chicken appeared to be pink and not well cooked. She ordered the Pechuga La Brasa. They were considerate not charge us for the chicken, which I respect. If service time was a bit faster, I would reconsider. Overall, it was an ok experience. read more

Visited for the first time accompanied with my daughter and her boyfriend for happy hour. Excellent service by our server, Francisco and manager, Sal. Very friendly and attentive the place got busy, but Francisco made sure that we were taking care of. I had a margarita which was very delicious made with fresh ingredients! We shared the empanadas, Al Pastor, calamari and fish and chips. Our favorites were the empanadas and fish and chips very tasty and delicious! I come here regularly. The food and ambiance are amazing. Can't beat the views of the beach. I will keep coming back for these aspects. However, I just wanted to make note of an experience with a server: He called me "bro" (keep in mind I am older than him and I did not speak to him that way first), he checked the "Yes" for good service for himself after I paid, and then wanted me to fill out a yelp review--I said no because he was actually the least hospitable person I have had. Unfortunately, I can't say that I'm a fan. I stopped in because I needed to kill time while charging my car. Right off the bat, the vibe was weird. We got seated at a table that was in the middle of the a tunnel. Since we were there for a few minutes without a server or anyone who seemed to be interested in our table (and the surrounding ones), my family and I ordered two Gaucho burgers (one without habanero chimichuri) and two Gaucho Breakfast Platters via the QR code that was available on the table. As we were placing the order, a waitress walked up to take our order but we were already done. She asked if we wanted waters and brought us plastic togo cups of water. After 10-15 min, it was too cold so we asked if we could move inside. The waitress said that since we ordered through the QR code she couldn't make any changes. So I said, "so, is that a no?" She went to ask someone and eventually we were allowed to move inside. When the food finally came, we were disappointed that the waitress didn't know that the burgers were different. Thank god it was only a sauce removal since one of the kids couldn't eat spicy - what if it was an allergy? The burgers were mediocre at best and the fries were soggy. The breakfast platter had 5 things (bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes) and only the bacon was good. The sausage tasted funny and the eggs were bland. Definitely wasn't my cup of tea. read more

This is the worst experience that I had so far in LA. What a lying restaurant, we waited more than 2 hours. They are promoting their FIFA game watching party in social media and their website, and advertising the restaurant is opening at 10am, we arrived at 10 and the staff was telling me they are hosting a private event and will reopen to public at 12 (WTF there is no disclaimer and additional information about this on social media and website) the game is starting at 12. During the line up they even told us they you all can get in they have enough spaces. So around 12:30 they finally get to us in the line up and say there are no seats ......that is ridiculous, we missed the game and food and water in the sun for two hours ... really fucked up.. read more

About a month ago, i treated my parents to Creme de la crepe in downtown Long beach for my father's…read morebirthday. This was my first time. We went at lunch time on a weekday. Parking is metered and was easy the find. There was plenty of it right in front of the restaurant. You get the first 15 min for free. I added some coins in order to get more time but it did not work and would not go beyond the 15 min. I tried another parking spot but it was the same. So, i lost a couple of coins and i ended up parking right in front of the restaurant to keep an eye out for the parking police. And every so often, i would step out to reset the free 15 min. So, in the process, i got free parking but it wasn't convenient. I later realized that there was a parking lot across the street that uses one of the park apps. The restaurant is located on a tree lined street with side walk tables under string lighting. There was a chalkboard menu at the entrance showing what looked like their daily specials. The interior was very cozy, warm and inviting with low comfortable lighting. There were framed pictures of Parisian landmarks and some vintage-style accents. The interior seating is laid out with close-set tables. One corner of the restaurant has a couple of comfortable couches and a coffee table. Overall, it had a very distinct Parisian café vibe and feel. The menu is varied and authentic. It truly offers something for everyone. From house specialties, to omelettes to crepes to waffles, salads, quiches, sandwiches and much more. They also have a great wine list, beer and cocktails. Please see the full menu in the pictures. I had the filet mignon hash which is pieces of filet mignon, 2 eggs sunny side up, bell pepper, onions and avocados. The meat was tender and tasty. It paired really well with all the other ingredients. I really loved my plate. My father had the steak/frites and my mother had the soup and sandwich combo. She picked the Smoked salmon sandwich and the french onion soup. Everyone loved their dishes. For dessert, that day they had the Mousse au chocolat. Possibly my favorite dessert of all times. It was absolutely exquisite. Light, creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness and topped with a light whipped cream. My mouth is literally still watery. In conclusion. I Loved the setting. The food was excellent, our server was so kind and prices are reasonable. My father's birthday brunch was a success. I highly recommend creme de la crepe and i will definitely be going back for more. PS: They have multiple locations

We'd been here a couple of times before, but only for drinks. The interior is quaint, with pretty typical Francophilic touches (pics of Parisian landmarks, etc). The drip coffee I got was great, however, and the hubby enjoyed his Veggie hash. Friendly service from the two servers, but they seemed a bit stretched--maybe it was more crowded than usual due to the watch party?

The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

He went into the kitchen for fresh berries, muddled them with Tito's and soda, and made a genuinely refreshing summertime drink that helped with the heat...! I eventually ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Calamari to eat as my main (I was dining alone). I had recently had a very notable version of the same dish at a Canopy by Hilton in Washington DC, and unfortunately, this one did not measure up. The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.

It's one of the most unique, eclectic restaurants you'll find in Long Beach. And if you love cornbread, oh my God, you have to try theirs! It's warm, buttery, served with honey, and absolutely delicious. I'm telling you, it's worth going just for the cornbread. The breakfasts are great. The lunches are great. The food across the board is fantastic. The bartenders are great. The menu has plenty of variety, and the whole place just has this incredible vibe. I've been walking by this charming beachside restaurant for months, and its stunning ocean views have finally convinced me to give it a try. The colorful buildings and lively atmosphere have made me curious about the delicious food and sunny spot it must offer. When parking, it's a good idea to download the Passport app, if you plan to go before 6pm especially when parking enforcement is out in full force. This way, you can pay for your parking spot quickly and easily, avoiding the risk of receiving a ticket in the time it takes to get back to your car. By paying for your parking through the app, you can ensure that you're not stuck with an unexpected fine, and you'll also be supporting the city's efforts to streamline parking payment processes. I was taken aback when we had to sit ourselves at a table, it's not something I'm used to at a beachfront restaurant like this. But, considering the stunning ocean views and the fact that it was a weekday, the lack of assigned seating wasn't a bad thing - it added to the casual, laid-back vibe of the place. Our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic, but it took a bit of time to get their attention - we had to wait for a while before someone came to take our order. Despite the delay, her demeanor remained warm and welcoming, and she made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The pineapple Margarita was a decent drink, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While it did taste like pineapple and had a unique blue color, it wasn't particularly impressive or memorable. Having had better versions of this cocktail in the past, I'm not sure what the point of the blue color was, as it didn't add to the overall flavor or experience. Overall, it was just an average drink that didn't stand out from the rest. The Gaucho burger was a solid choice! While I opted for medium-well, it came out slightly more rare than expected, but the juicy half-pound beef patty still packed a flavorful punch. The combination of melted provolone cheese, fresh tomatoes, caramelized onions, and spicy habanero chimichurri on a toasted brioche bun was absolute perfection. The tangy kick from the lemon aioli added a delightful contrast to the rich flavors. Despite the slight misstep on the doneness, the Gaucho burger was good, but wouldn't get again. The steak and chicken empanadas complicated were excellent! The steak was tender and juicy with a nice char, while the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender within. Both dishes were well-seasoned and allowed the natural flavors to shine through. My sister wasn't too thrilled with the fish and chips, unfortunately. She found the batter to be overdone, giving the fish an unpleasant texture. To make matters worse, the fish was prone to bursting with juice, which was a bit messy and unappetizing. The tartar sauce, which she thought would add a nice tanginess, ended up being off-putting instead, with a weird taste that didn't complement the dish well. Mixed reviews for sure do not know if I'll return. read more

arrived at the restaurant at approximately 3:55, waited for 10 minutes in the hall beside the bar for someone to acknowledge that we were present. we stated we would like a table for dinner and were told by the bartender take any table that's open. So we did five minutes later someone came over and cleaned the table and asked if we needed assistance.. we said we had come for dinner and she said I'll send over the waiter... 10 minutes later, the waiter arrived, and we told him we would like to have a menu.... He proceeds to find a menu and brings one menu for three people..... that's right one menu for three people.... we look over the menu and order two steaks, and one salad and calamari...... Approximately 15 minutes later, a server, not our waiter brings steak and the calamari..... Anticipating that the other stake was forthcoming, I was mistaken.... After requesting to see our waiter after 10 minutes, we asked where the other steak was..... said, let me look into it.... Five minutes late he shows up with the second steak..... The steak that was served to me was un edible..... I tried my best, but I just could not eat the steak...... I asked the server if he would send the waiter to me so that I could show him what my problem was...... after a five minute wait and no waiter I decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager.... I explained to him what the problem was and he could see that the steak was un eatable.... he did refund the money that I had paid for the steak....... I only wish that I would not have included a 20% tip for a waiter that was non-existent..... but that's what happens when you have to order pay for and include the tip before the meal is served..... this is a poor poor policy....... So buyer beware if you plan on using this restaurant, I wouldn't pay before you see what you are about to receive.... with the service and food as poor as it was presented to us this restaurant will not be around very long..... There are too many good restaurants that deserve our patronage.....Carl read more

Can't even begin to describe how awful this place is!!!!! As a former employee for Almost a year... If only you all knew what was taking place behind closed doors!!!! To start You wouldn't believe the amount of CROSS CONTAMINATION happening here. The surfaces food is prepared on is absolutely disgusting and never ever ever cleaned or sanitized. They don't even wash dishes with soap or sanitizer and only spray them off and run through the machine with water. Health Code Violations? Ha! Long Beach is Notorious for Health Departments not doing their jobs and being paid off by places like this that are owned by the city. The amount of rodents and bugs and disgust in and around this place would make anyone never want to step foot near here again. This place seriously needs to be shut down immediately due to HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS The owners of Guacho? Who are they? Management? Who are they as well? Who actually controls what's Happening here? The amount of corners being cut to just make money is insane. There is no management and employees are left constantly having to pick up the slack of the business. Employees give inventory through group chat to a manager and that manager then gives the order to his manager and then that person doesn't order what's needed on time for the business to have what's on the menus and then the employees are left telling customers we're out of items. This has been going on since the start and has not changed. I could literally keep going and going and going with how horrible this place was and is. The amount of employees you see come and go, the lacking all around from everyone is ridiculous. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LONG BEACH SOMEONE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!! YOU ALL ARE BEING FOOLED I PRAY NOBODY GETS SICK OR DIES!!!!! THE AMOUNT OF FOOD POISONING HERE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS TERRIBLE BUSINESS read more

If you're looking for a dining experience that combines stunning ocean views with great food, Gaucho Beach is the spot to be. Nestled right on the beach, the location is unbeatable, offering a fantastic view that sets the perfect tone for a relaxing meal. The ambiance is warm and inviting, matched by the friendly and attentive staff who make you feel right at home. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the Blue Cheese Burger, and let me tell you, it was a showstopper. The patty was huge, tender, and juicy, packed with flavor in every bite. Paired with fresh, golden fries, it was a burger experience worth savoring. The Calamari was another highlight--crispy, perfectly seasoned, and totally addictive. For drinks, Gaucho Beach doesn't disappoint. I tried their Old Fashioned, and I might just say it's arguably the best in Long Beach. My coworkers were equally impressed with the Inferno Margarita, which they couldn't stop raving about. Not everything was perfect, though. The Artichoke and Feta Dip was underwhelming--not terrible, but not something I'd order again. On the other hand, the Pollo Frito Chicken was absolutely delicious, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors. Unfortunately, they were out of the Lobster Roll, which came highly recommended by our waitress, but hey, that gives me a reason to come back! All in all, Gaucho Beach is the total package--great food, an amazing beachfront view, and a vibe that makes you want to linger. Whether you're grabbing a casual bite or celebrating with cocktails, it's a place that delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended! read more

Spotted Gaucho Beach and decided to give it a try for brunch. The location is fantastic, offering a unique setting with a spacious deck for people-watching and enjoying ocean views. Despite the vast beach surroundings, options are somewhat limited in the area. The ordering process intrigued me--simple yet modern, with a quick QR code scan, order placement, and payment, followed by table-side food delivery. The menu featured a decent variety, and though tempted by the idea of soft shell crab, a personal favorite not in season at the time, I opted for the beach chilaquiles with steak. Unfortunately, the dish didn't live up to expectations; it felt like nachos with a store-bought sauce hastily poured over, accompanied by a modest serving of steak for an extra $10. The steak, while tasty, seemed a bit underwhelming. My partner's choice, the Beach omelette, turned out to be surprisingly bland. A noteworthy quirk was the absence of coffee options, redirecting patrons to Gaucho Grill next door for coffee-related beverages. The café con leche and cortado there were enjoyable, although the single sweet pastry on offer that morning left much to be desired. Considering a return for cocktails and the vibrant atmosphere, perhaps trying the empanadas at Gaucho Grill, while bypassing the food options at Gaucho Beach. Ultimately, the experience is subjective, and exploring it firsthand is recommended. Supporting local businesses attempting to revitalize our beachfront dining scene is, at the very least, a commendable initiative. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gaucho Beach restaurant and I must say, it was truly an amazing experience! From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was captivated by its beautiful atmosphere. I just ate at this restaurant for the first time and upon arrival I wasn't sure what to do exactly. So if you'd like to eat at the restaurant you will find a table and sit. I didn't see a hostess during my time there. Now as soon as we sat down water was brought to us and that was extremely great because it's summer and it hot! So it was really nice to not even have to ask and I appreciated that immediately. Now I'm a mom and I have two toddlers 1&3 years old. So going out is stressful, but honestly the servers were so nice and welcoming. My 3 year old of course had to spill her water and immediately a server came to help us clean it and I'm grateful for that, because he helped lower my anxiety. We ordered two kids butter pastas, fish fingers, and I got the skirt steak sandwich. The food was really good my steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked, it was soft and tender not chewy at all. Honestly for 4 plates and drinks it was not pricey at all. I am very happy with the service, I am very happy with the food. I would definitely come back here. Also we got all our food really fast and it was extremely full and busy during our time there. So I was pleasantly surprised. As a mom with 3 kids who decided to go eat alone with them because my husband is working, I am happy to say it was a great experience. If you are a mom this place is kid and parent friendly, oh and dog friendly I saw a lot of fur babies. read more

I absolutely love this place! It's right by the beach, the food is SO good, and the vibe is amazing especially at night. The calamari is incredible, and honestly, everything I've had has been on point. But what really stands out to me is the customer service. The workers here are phenomenal, especially the bartenders. Everyone is so respectful, welcoming, and kind. The last time I went, I was actually out for a run and really needed to use the restroom. I honestly didn't look very put together at all, but I simply asked if I could use the bathroom, and they were so kind and let me use it. I really appreciated that because it showed me that they treat people like people, regardless of how they look or what they're coming in for. I know businesses near the beach deal with a lot, including issues with people experiencing homelessness, but this place still manages to maintain such a great atmosphere and provide amazing service. Great food, beautiful location, great vibes, and phenomenal workers. You can tell when a business genuinely cares about its customers. I'll definitely keep coming back more often and look at the food my mom and I had today! read more

Gaucho Beach is an absolute gem! Every visit here is a fantastic experience, and it's quickly become one of my favorite spots. The atmosphere is simply amazing, perfectly blending a chic, modern aesthetic (the building itself is gorgeous!) with incredibly relaxing ocean views. Seriously, just sitting there and taking it all in is a treat. The music is always on point, setting such a great vibe without ever being too loud or intrusive. And let's talk about the food - it's consistently delicious and satisfying, no matter what I order. I'm also really impressed with the improvements they've made to their service. The switch to having servers instead of just QR codes has made a huge difference; the customer service has improved dramatically, and it makes for a much more enjoyable and personal experience. The bar is super inviting and always a good time if you're looking for a lively spot. Plus, parking is generally a breeze, which is a huge bonus in this area. Highly recommend Gaucho Beach for anyone looking for great food and nice views. P.S. The park next door is great for people with kiddos. More restaurants need to have playgrounds! read more

This place offers a vibrant beachfront atmosphere with energetic vibes and lively crowds--perfect if you're in the mood for a bustling scene by the ocean. We tried two cocktails: the Pisco Sour and El Mercado. Both were tasty and well-made, although the Pisco Sour leaned a bit too bland for our liking. For food, we ordered the Lomo Saltado and the Entraña. The Lomo Saltado was a letdown--it was wrongly seasoned with Ají Panca and lacked the depth and authenticity expected of a traditional "Peruvian" dish. It was also surprising that there was no indication of its cultural origin on the menu, especially for a restaurant that promotes itself as Argentinian. The Entraña was decent, served with fries, but unfortunately arrived well done instead of the medium doneness requested. On the upside, service was prompt and attentive despite the busy environment, and our orders came out without long delays. Gaucho Beach has potential, especially with its location and drinks, but it should be more mindful of dish authenticity and execution. If a dish is going to be called Lomo Saltado, it should live up to the name. read more

Yesi made our experience at Gaucho Beach Restaurant absolutely unforgettable. My experience this Saturday was nothing short of abysmal. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. If it weren't for the self-order service, my wife and I might never have been acknowledged or had the chance to place our order. I practically had to serve myself refills of water as our so-called waitress flitted around attending to other tables. In fact, I had to flag down a busboy who was busy cleaning tables to get the drinks I had ordered before our meal. The food, while consistently good, was overshadowed by the shockingly poor service. It genuinely felt like my presence was a burden to our server. She made a brief appearance to introduce herself and promised to bring us water, but then vanished for the rest of the evening. This level of neglect and unprofessionalism is unacceptable and thoroughly ruined what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. read more

Dang and his partner on the roof is great on a Friday mid-day. You don't have to flag them down for service. They are attentive and they will check on you periodically. If you sit at the bar, downstairs. My experience has been not so good. I've observed the bartenders only taking care of their Spanish speaking customers. Me, I dont speak Spanish, so I have to waive down someone for service. And then when I order, it's about 10/15 min wait to get the drink. Other non- speaking (black) customers had the same experience at the bar. As we discussed it while sitting at the bar. This happened on 2 separate occasions. Emily at the bar is good. She's attentive and you won't have to waive her down for a drink or service. Otherwise. Great view of the water. So. Just ignore the bad service and enjoy the view! read more

First time with this whole yelp thing though I posted my experience but it's not here but I went Sunday 12/21 for lunch, with my mom and younger sister. Food was great but service? It was amazing I had Josue as my server. I've been to all the gauchos recently and this has been the best visit, everywhere else has been so slow. It was best simply because of his service.. amazing. My mom noticed he had several tables at once and was still on it and didn't miss nothing. You can sub a pancake for your toast?!? Wasn't sure if it was free or not but I enjoyed that. Great view, good food, strong alcohol.

The chicken lollipops and Brussels sprouts were delicious, and we enjoyed our drinks. I had the Hoisin BBQ spare ribs with lobster mac & cheese, and my husband had the 16-ounce ribeye with shoestring fries. The food was on point and the aesthetics and decor is amazing!! For my order I ordered the California Caesar and shared the Jalapeños creamy pesto pasta. The food was 10/10 for me!! The pasta was just bomb and hot and fresh!!! U highly recommend this dish. My drink, I had a peach lemon drop and it was so refreshing and so flavorful. The server was also phenomenal. There's been a very patient because we were being very indecisive about where to sit indoor or outdoor vote. Once we set outdoor and was cold. We went back inside and they didn't make any complaints at all. Our server was really nice and I had a very good personality and very very attentive. I will come back here to try something else off their menu and just have a good vibe. This is good for date night or to bring your friends or if you want to just come solo and sit at the bar. -Marshay D.

Off the happy hour menu, we got the nachos, fish tacos, and the crunchy tacos. We loved the nachos and the fish tacos- very flavorful and decadent. However, we would probably skip the crunchy tacos next time- there wasn't really anything special about it. We also ordered the naughty fries and two pastas: garlic and parmesan pasta and the spicy mariana cremosa. The serving sizes for the pasta were definitely worth the price, and plus it comes with two pieces of garlic bread. The naughty fries were also really good! In addition to the delicious food, we also ordered 3 of their shaken espressos- cinnamon brown sugar, banana cream, and the cocoa moon rocks. All were pretty solid but I wish the flavor was more coffee forward. The interior of the place is very nice. I loved the light fixtures and the stage. It would be a perfect dinner spot for a night out. Our table was near the window and there's a lot of flies near there, so that was just a little displeasing. In regard to the service, it was a pretty slow. It took a while for us to get our drinks, the check, and also to pay. Our server was really sweet though! Overall, we enjoyed our time here at Luna Bistro and we hope to come back sometime again!
