I love this place, when I moved to Long Beach my wife and I did a run at Alamitos Beach and stopped hear after for brunch and drinks. It's awesome to be able to see the water while grabbing a bite. The staff is nice and friendly and it feels like a little vacation spot. read more

Never coming to this place again. The hostess who was wearing the white shirt today had checked me in supposedly. 45 minutes later I still hadn't received a text so I went to ask her what the wait time was and she said she didn't even have my name or #... after a while of her "looking" for my info she finally found it written on a piece of paper and said oh look it's not even in my system the wait could take another hour. My family and I were in town for a family trip and decided to eat here for Father's Day. I made a reservation on Open Table months in advance, and I had the highest expectations. A beautiful view and brunch on the beach? On an important day like this in honor of my partner? Where can you go wrong?! Well, safe to say, we were extremely disappointed. From the service to the food, it just was not worth it. Our server was very inattentive. He was more interactive with the bar, than anywhere else. We didn't place our orders until 45 minutes after being seated! The restaurant no longer sold lobster rolls, but for some reason, the item was still on the menu. We ordered the lomo saltado, the patron flight, the shrimp ceviche, and the blacked salmon sandwich. Nothing was a stand out. I really feel like it was a waste of money. To top things off, the hostess never marked me in attendance for my reservation, resulting in a back and forth with Open Table. Don't recommend this establishment in the slightest. read more

This place is near my home and I come often. Left side is the cafe and empanada window, right side is the bar and restaurant. I love how accessible this place is. Sometimes I grab a tea or smoothie after I walk the beach and I've come here several times with friends and family for brunch, lunch or dinner. I've experienced the DJ once and it was a nice touch. I've visited this place when they had QR code ordering from your table and now they have wait service. Food is always good and I've even ordered online here. I've tried all of the fish options, salad, waffle at brunch, various cocktails and wines, teas, smoothies, and my friends tried the burgers, sandwiches and short ribs and other dishes... everyone has been satisfied with no complaints. Being right on the beach is such a treat and when folks are visiting and want beach vibes but also want to eat or drink. I always bring them here and they love it. However, being right on the beach in this area also means that depending on the time of day, don't expect quiet or intimacy lol. Especially in the warmer months. People are here with families, tourist groups, pets, special events in town... it's busy and there's a little bit of everyone around. So understand that this is not and exclusive Malibu-like experience. Everyone is welcome and this is a fairly casual dining experience. With that said, though things have shifted over time and I do think they could be on top of cleaning a bit better when it is busy (ie. bathroom supply refill, cleaning empty tables so new customers can sit) I'll always support. It's in my neighborhood and for that alone I'm grateful. read more

Great location with amazing views of Long Beach, but everything else is mediocre. This beach restaurant/bar is location right on the beach down the street from The Pike. It has amazing views of the beach and ocean. they have a nice second floor for an even better view. Tons of lou ge like tables that give a great beach vibe. I went on a Wednesday afternoon, it was nowhere near busy. Tons of open tables and tons of staff. However the service was almost nonexistent. We got there at 2 and was told happy hour would be an hour from then. We said no worries, we probably wouldn't even be there that long. We didn't get our drinks or even order our food until 2:55. We ended up being forcibly there for 2 hours because no staff wanted to check on us, and we were sitting in front of everything so we weren't hard to miss. We also noticed that other tables were looking frustrated, so it wasn't just us. Towards the end, the server closed us out and automatically selected a tip for herself and thought we wouldn't notice. She put a 25% tip for herself. I served in bar and restaurants for 9+ years. I respect tipping culture, but never in my years have I forced some or tried to trick someone into giving a tip. The food was decent enough. I had the Cesar salad, which I will say I did like a lot because they put a good amount of dressing, which I like. My friend ordered a burger, don't know which one but he said it was okay. We ordered chips and salsa as and appetizer, and they were really hold back on us with the chips. It's like we ordered salsa with a side of chips. Then we all ordered a mimosa flight, if I'm being honest, whatever juices they used to mix it with, it was so flavorless. I had cucumber, pineapple, and strawberry, and all of them almost all tasted identical. I don't know if their juices are just watered down or whatever it was, but not good. Definitely had better else where. And it shouldn't have taken so long to make a mimosa. Mimosas are literally 2 ingredients. Decent food, great views, and in dying need of staff training. read more

Very cute atmosphere! We ordered the mimosa flight and we all agreed that the cucumber mimosa was the best! We literally downed it, it was refreshing. We ordered the salmon, paella, and fish chips; they all came out so good. Never left a bad review. I feel bad for doing it, but I went there and got the Tunabowl and a smoothie. Waited patiently for 45 minutes and when my girlfriend went to ask what the holdup was, we were rudely told that the kitchen had nothing to do with the kiosk that we ordered out which was incorrect and they basically just stole $30 from me because we had to leave to get to an appointment. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

I've been walking by this charming beachside restaurant for months, and its stunning ocean views have finally convinced me to give it a try. The colorful buildings and lively atmosphere have made me curious about the delicious food and sunny spot it must offer. When parking, it's a good idea to download the Passport app, if you plan to go before 6pm especially when parking enforcement is out in full force. This way, you can pay for your parking spot quickly and easily, avoiding the risk of receiving a ticket in the time it takes to get back to your car. By paying for your parking through the app, you can ensure that you're not stuck with an unexpected fine, and you'll also be supporting the city's efforts to streamline parking payment processes. I was taken aback when we had to sit ourselves at a table, it's not something I'm used to at a beachfront restaurant like this. But, considering the stunning ocean views and the fact that it was a weekday, the lack of assigned seating wasn't a bad thing - it added to the casual, laid-back vibe of the place. Our waiter was friendly and enthusiastic, but it took a bit of time to get their attention - we had to wait for a while before someone came to take our order. Despite the delay, her demeanor remained warm and welcoming, and she made sure to check in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. The pineapple Margarita was a decent drink, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The tangy kick from the lemon aioli added a delightful contrast to the rich flavors. Despite the slight misstep on the doneness, the Gaucho burger was good, but wouldn't get again. The steak and chicken empanadas complicated were excellent! The steak was tender and juicy with a nice char, while the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender within. Both dishes were well-seasoned and allowed the natural flavors to shine through. My sister wasn't too thrilled with the fish and chips, unfortunately. She found the batter to be overdone, giving the fish an unpleasant texture. To make matters worse, the fish was prone to bursting with juice, which was a bit messy and unappetizing. The tartar sauce, which she thought would add a nice tanginess, ended up being off-putting instead, with a weird taste that didn't complement the dish well. arrived at the restaurant at approximately 3:55, waited for 10 minutes in the hall beside the bar for someone to acknowledge that we were present. we stated we would like a table for dinner and were told by the bartender take any table that's open. So we did five minutes later someone came over and cleaned the table and asked if we needed assistance.. we said we had come for dinner and she said I'll send over the waiter... 10 minutes later, the waiter arrived, and we told him we would like to have a menu.... He proceeds to find a menu and brings one menu for three people..... that's right one menu for three people.... we look over the menu and order two steaks, and one salad and calamari...... Approximately 15 minutes later, a server, not our waiter brings steak and the calamari..... Anticipating that the other stake was forthcoming, I was mistaken.... After requesting to see our waiter after 10 minutes, we asked where the other steak was..... said, let me look into it.... Five minutes late he shows up with the second steak..... The steak that was served to me was un edible..... I tried my best, but I just could not eat the steak...... I asked the server if he would send the waiter to me so that I could show him what my problem was...... after a five minute wait and no waiter I decided to go to the bar and ask for the manager.... I explained to him what the problem was and he could see that the steak was un eatable.... he did refund the money that I had paid for the steak....... I only wish that I would not have included a 20% tip for a waiter that was non-existent..... but that's what happens when you have to order pay for and include the tip before the meal is served..... this is a poor poor policy....... So buyer beware if you plan on using this restaurant, I wouldn't pay before you see what you are about to receive.... with the service and food as poor as it was presented to us this restaurant will not be around very long..... Can't even begin to describe how awful this place is!!!!! As a former employee for Almost a year... If only you all knew what was taking place behind closed doors!!!! To start You wouldn't believe the amount of CROSS CONTAMINATION happening here. The surfaces food is prepared on is absolutely disgusting and never ever ever cleaned or sanitized. They don't even wash dishes with soap or sanitizer and only spray them off and run through the machine with water. Health Code Violations? Ha! Long Beach is Notorious for Health Departments not doing their jobs and being paid off by places like this that are owned by the city. The amount of rodents and bugs and disgust in and around this place would make anyone never want to step foot near here again. This place seriously needs to be shut down immediately due to HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS The owners of Guacho? Who are they? Management? Who are they as well? Who actually controls what's Happening here? The amount of corners being cut to just make money is insane. There is no management and employees are left constantly having to pick up the slack of the business. Employees give inventory through group chat to a manager and that manager then gives the order to his manager and then that person doesn't order what's needed on time for the business to have what's on the menus and then the employees are left telling customers we're out of items. This has been going on since the start and has not changed. I could literally keep going and going and going with how horrible this place was and is. The amount of employees you see come and go, the lacking all around from everyone is ridiculous. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LONG BEACH SOMEONE SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!!!!
