Even when completely packed with customers, Garfinkel's consistently serves great drinks and delicious food. With a lively American-pub atmosphere, one would expect typical barfood. Yet, Garkfinkel's serves a significantly higher-quality take on traditional bar/pub food, and does so with a refined twist. It is easy to understand why they serve more than 400 customers per day. Locals and visitors on ski trips come here and surely leave satisfied. I know I did. When I recommended this pub/restaurant to others, they already knew all about it and loved it. It is great to see a ski resort get it so right with having a place like this perfectly located in the village at the base of the mountain. I would recommend quite literally anywhere else to eat or drink. ...like Blue Moose or Montauk. I like to go on to Yelp, Open Table, and TripAdviser to leave positive reviews but this experience was so awful, I felt the need to leave this negative review. We never received a "text" that a table was ready for us which is fine but when we went to the front desk to inquire about the wait, we were told "we are busy." We were initially told a 45 minute wait, but after one hour + of waiting and never receiving any notification of ANY KIND, we took our business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same. read more

We always stop by Garfinkel's when we are in vail. Large menu, good drinks, pretty chill and casual vibe here, can't complain. Love sitting on the patio, great views! We loved the tuna poke, and the nacho portion was huge. They've updated their menu since we were here last year and the yellowfin tuna and salad additions are incredible. Better than upscale restaurants in the area. We walked in and sat ourselves. The waiter took about 10 minutes to come to our table but after that, no issues with the wait staff. The food was okay. They do give large portions of food. I got the chicken fingers tossed in buffalo. The tenders seem like they came out of a frozen tender bag and not fresh. My husband ordered the Nashville chicken and he said it was good. Brett was attentive, available, professional, informative, knowledgeable and truly one of the best servers I've ever had. Coming to a restaurant with a newborn is always a challenge, but they ensured a shaded spot (away from the high UV exposure ). The food was quick, fresh and delicious. This is a very busy restaurant right off the slopes by the Gondola. The staff is very efficient and things move quite fast here, so you can eat and still have time to get back out on the slopes. Also, it is cheaper to eat here then up on the mountain! One of our orders came out wrong, but it was quickly replaced with the right order. It is busy, but they also have quite a few tables inside and out. We didn't have to wait at all! You seat yourself, which was not a problem at all. Broncos game! Lots of tvs to watch every football game on a Sunday. Broncos lost but the food was still good. Portions are big, the nachos was a mound of goodness. Outstanding. Lobster Ravioli was disappointing. Noodle were soaking wet when they applied the cream sauce leaving a watered down, overcooked noodle. Significant fishy taste that just rounded out a 2 star dish. We drank copious amounts of cocktails and a a glass of wine or two and three meals (kids meals are a steep $12..) and were out the door just over $100 with %20 tip. This place has a huge deck overlooking the gondola in lionshead! It's also a rare find in vail because of its reasonable prices. This is a great place to come grab your standard bar food and share some drinks. I had the chicken sandwich. It was pretty good, but didn't have any sauce so I would order it again with added sauce. My friend had the French dip, which is what I would recommend. It was well made and a good price. The chicken parmesan was also a good choice, and you definitely eat great portions. This is a reliably good casual eatery in Lionshead with spectacular views. It has been around for years! The atmosphere is laid back among both diners and wait staff. People often bring their dogs. The food is good--no frills or fanciness, but they do the basics well. Most recently, we have enjoyed wings and fish and chips. Salad isn't their focus, but they offer several and they are just fine. The best part, in my view, is a great outdoor deck with picnic-style tables and benches and fantastic views of the mountain. read more

Food is always good, beer is cold (just don't let your beer "sit" if it's a warm day and you're outside). Inside is great with TVs all around.
