I rarely leave negative reviews, but I think it's important to share an honest experience. Unfortunately, our server, Alfonso, provided disappointing service. After taking our order, he never came back to check on us, ask if we needed anything, or see if we were satisfied with our meals. The service felt inattentive from start to finish. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. While I have no problem tipping well for good service, I believe tips should reflect the quality of the service provided. In this case, I don't feel the service justified the automatic gratuity. I hope management will address this so future customers receive the level of service they expect. read more

Outside has a large fire pit. Nicely decorated. Good for large groups. The menu is not vast but has a decent selection. The staff was welcoming and the service was excellent. Excellent service and beautiful ambiance! The restaurant over looks the water and unlike restaurants in big cities there's always a table by the water's edge. I sat at the bar that runs along the water at sunset and the view was stunning. I got a bit cold as the sun went down and a server immediately rolled up a heat lamp. I ordered the mixed green salad which had character with these thinly sliced and pickled carrots and added a grilled salmon which was juicy. The cocktail was the only thing that was disappointing. I ordered the coconut lime which had honeydew liqueur and it tasted artificial like some kind of fruity scented bathroom cleaner. In the future I would not order a drink and knock off $20 off the total tab. They do also automatically include a 20% tip which I didn't realize until after the fact. Fuego has absolutely stunning views and great drinks, but unfortunately it also has mediocre food. I had the poke nachos and honestly they were a let down. Especially for Long Beach which has so many good seafood options. There were way too many chips compared to the sparse toppings. Barely anything to the nachos at all. I couldn't even tell you what the poke tasted like because there was hardly any of it. The chips and guacamole that we had as an appetizer were very solid. The guacamole was great. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. And again, the views are spectacular, which is what you come here for. Our servers were really nice and attentive. The decorations are touristy, but we came Fourth of July weekend so it might have just been because of the holiday. If you want a good drink with great views, come here. To begin with we seen this restaurant on TikTok and saw a great selection of food, however when we arrived they began to inform us they weren't a restaurant due to them closing 3 months ago and reopening; so my Boyfriend asked them do you guys have any Mac and cheese options with steak? Fuego is still the satisfying restaurant that I experienced years ago. Seems folks have been disappointed with the service, but the service for my party of 6 was on top of things yet again. I've enjoyed every item I ordered here. This time, I got the Crab Cakes ($22) which were two generous cakes of jumbo lump crab meat fried with panko crust. The Choriqueso ($16) was a nice sharing plate of melted Oaxaca and asadero cheese with spinach and chorizo mixed in it. The Side Fuego Salad ($16) was more of a main! It was definitely larger than your regular side salad and the medley of pecans, goat cheese, heirloom tomatoes, and sliced apples in a creamy chipotle dressing was the perfect complement to our other dishes. For drinks this time around, I loved the French 75 and Premium Fuego Margarita. They do a great pour on the drinks! Romantic view of the LB skyline and water, high ceilings and Mayan decor makes you feel like you're in a resort far away. They were told there were no heaters available while heaters were visibly sitting next to them. My boyfriend and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on 12/10 at Fuego . It was such a great experience the server was so kind and friendly. Being welcomed and being appreciated as guests is always a great feeling. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection although it was well done it was very easy to cut and chew. It can be difficult when you order a well done steak because at times it may be a little too well done, but thankfully, that was not the case here. We had a chance to take pictures out on the patio that overlooked the water and the Queen Mary. Both the server and another worker offered to take us pictures, which was very nice of them to do. I had the chance to dine here for Sunday brunch today. The view on the outside patio was amazing, the food even better!! However the service was terrible, upon arrival the host seemed to be annoyed that we were there and didn't bother greeting us. We found the other person from our party and sat ourselves. Went here to have a drink with my wife after a long day of traveling. We got to the bar and ordered a couple drinks they were a little pricey at $18 each, but that was fine. Unfortunately the drinks are very small and not strong at all. In addition there was only 1 bartender who seemed very busy and after getting our drinks we didn't see him again for almost 30 minutes, so we asked to close out. The bill was 47.74 which included tax a 20% automatic gratuity. This is ridicules based on the below average drink and close to being ignored service. I would like to express when entering, I was welcomed by the manager with a great big smile. Seated immediately. Just wanted to express during this time they are doing renovations. But the seating was still amazing as it had dim lighting and warm lamps. Also, the music selection was very much the vibe. Service is completed in a timely manner, since there wasn't a lot of people during that time. Mind you, I arrived around 8:30 PM or so. Forgot to mention, I was seated outside right next to the water, which was absolutely amazing! I don't know if there is an extended menu prior to the renovations, but the selection that they have on hand will definitely have you satisfied. I will be definitely coming back after the renovations have completed (I wish I would have asked when that was). I would also like to express since this place is inside a hotel you are required to pay a parking fee, but most will be validated at the front desk if you are not staying as a guest at Hotel Maya. Okay - I'll be honest, I've only ever spent the time to leave glowing reviews because I feel like unless it's something stellar worth letting others know, why bother. So, we've all had bad food, bad service, and bad experiences at restaurants. I just typically don't bother leaving a review. But, this experience is worth reviewing. We ordered the hamachi crudo, good, the fillet, good, the branzino, fishy and dry. Our server, Alejandro, was nice enough, but we didn't see him much. I don't blame him, because I think there just weren't enough servers tonight. Not that we were in a hurry, but the service was very slow. The view and the music were both exceptional. Mark, who I'm assuming who was the manager, was very friendly, and periodically checked in. However, our check had an item that we didn't order, and when we questioned the automatic 20% tip added to our check for 2 people, he basically argued that it was standard for the hotel (Maya), and there wasn't anything he could do. It wasn't until my husband and I expressed our disbelief, and my husband asked for someone else that he could speak to, that Mark suddenly was able to bring us a bill that didn't automatically include a tip. I just have to say that I'm extremely disappointed. There was an opportunity to make things right, and I don't feel like Mark took that opportunity until he was backed into a corner. read more

Had 1700 reservation on a Sunday. From the looks of it , looked kind of busy? That by the time we were asked about ordering drinks we ordered our appetizers/entrees I asked a question about a menu item, then opted for another and repeated it 3x. Food comes out wrong item was brought out, the one I'd asked about in the beginning ‍. The man dropping the food off apologized and went back to the kitchen. The server who took our order, then comes to our table, and then tried to argue, that THAT is what I ordered. The staff is super accommodating with customizations and getting things out quickly or adjusting your seat if the sun changes. I gave it 2 stars because of the view/location. Unfortunately, the food wasn't up to par. They brought us our Eggs Benedict cold! It was practically inedible, and made my and my friend's stomach turn! When we asked an employee (not sure of her role, since our waiter was nowhere to be found for most of our meal), she seemed a little put off that we asked her to microwave it a little. She said it's the way the dish is supposed to be... toast is warm, guac is cold, eggs are warm, sauce is cold. If that truly is that is the way it's supposed to come, it is disgusting. She encouraged us to order something new, but since we had waited a VERY long time for the food, we didn't want to have to wait for a long time again. Finally, after asking 3 times, she did take it back to be warmed up, and it was much better! Worth $24?? Nope! But you are paying for the view! The waiter was genuinely friendly, but he must have been very busy because we had to wait a LONG time for him to even greet us, then a long time to order, then waited for our food for a long time (which I'm sure that's why is was cold). So, if you're not in a hurry, and you don't mind cold eggs, this would be a great place for you due to the amazing view.
