I'm going to start out with the positives. This restaurant is beautiful. It's right on the water with fire pits for added ambience. Now for the negatives, we were staying at the Maya Hotel and after a long drive we were ready for a couple drinks. We walked in, found two seats at the bar, sat down and the waiting begun. The bartender finally came over to provide menus and then went MIA for 5ish minutes before he took our drink order. I ordered the margarita and my husband ordered the tropical eclipse. The drinks came out fairly quickly but didn't taste as advertised. The menu listed the margarita as a top shelf with premium tequila, Cointreau, agave and lime but tasted like a premade margarita with not much alcohol. The eclipse was not much better. It just kept getting worse, no chips and salsa and after we got our drinks, we didn't see the bartender for 30 mins. This is not the quality of drinks or service I would expect for at an $18 price point with an auto 20% gratuity added on top. The bill for 2 mediocre drinks was $48, outrageous. I will not be coming back to Fuego and will also be picking a different hotel to stay at as this location is pretty isolated and we often want dinner and drinks when we're in town. Very disappointed!

Between passings and relocations, our family Christmases are looking different these days, and trying to cobble together a big family holiday like the days of yore is just an exercise in depression - all we see are the faces missing. So my son, his partner, and my BFF have started a new tradition of going to Fuego each Christmas (well, for the past two, anyway), and both times have been great. But really, I'm offering this review because of the nachos. I am not an "appetizers" person, and I am definitely not a nachos person. I mean, they're fine, but not something I often seek out (unless it's 1a, I'm hammered, and Taco Bell is the only thing open). But these nachos... I'm going to dream of them. Big fat spicy jalepenos, and the cheese, omg, the cheese. I mean, seriously, stop what you're doing and go to Fuego and order the nachos. I ordered the salmon as an entree (pictured; I'm also not a food-picture-taker, but this one merited being That Person in the restaurant), and it was similarly excellent - and the serving and its complements were so generous that I was grateful I didn't order a side. They also serve the best margarita I've had this side of Mexico, and their expresso martini (yeah, I'm a BB that way) was the best I've ever had, hands down. If it wasn't $21, I would've had three. Instead I opted for one, and two $18 margs. Ha. Service was fantastic, though I think our server got a little frustrated/confused when after three stops by the table and two rounds of drinks, we still hadn't stopped talking long enough to make our decisions. Finally, I rallied the troops to actually figure it out so that the fourth time he came by, we were ready. But, he was ever patient with us, and super friendly. I wish I'd gotten his name so I could call him out here. ANYWAY. It's a trick getting there - yes, I did end up going over the bridge, after not trusting my nav and remarking to my friend that I was scared of ending up going over the bridge. Then... on the bridge. I HATE driving over bridges, especially that one. It's still a little confusing, even if you aren't dumb like me; you have to wind your way around a little bit, but it's not so difficult that you should avoid going. Parking is validated - or at least, was today. I'd give them five stars, but for my lack of experience on any day that isn't a major US holiday, I feel like I have to err on the side of that lack of experience. Either way, Fuego is awesome. Big hearts to them for a fun afternoon. It's been a minute since I've spent more than an hour in a restaurant, but the only reason we left after three was because my son's newborn finally woke up hungry. :)

I can speak in my own experience I went last night before going to the queen mary dark harbor as it's down the street And I had been here maybe 15 years ago or so and I had a great experience then And today was same Located inside hotel maya You do get validation of parking which is good but still paid $5 for being there an hour so there's that I guess but going back I had great service overall it was attentive and everyone was nice Forgot to take a pic of the view which included the queen Mary but the tacos we ate where meaty and delicious with flavor Drinks were good and guacamole was too Overall great meal and time and ambience eating outside

If you are looking for a place that has nice views then Fuego is the spot. I had a nice refreshing drink with some chicken tacos. They were good, but they weren't hot just warm. The service was ok as it was busy. The place has lots of seating and views are great wherever you sit. I would come back fs.

My wife and I were staying at Maya which is connected to Fuego. It is traditional Mexican food with lots of flavor. They do have other options to choose from but it is limited. The burger did look good from a table across from us. Nachos are loaded up. Service was excellent as we sat down and were eating within 10-15 minutes. The selling point for us is the view we appreciated while dinning outside. Overall a great atmosphere if you are looking for Mexican food.

Yum!! We stayed at Hotel Maya for a night & got this for dinner. I got the skirt steak tacos & a just peachy mocktail, both were very good! The mocktail didn't really have a peach flavor though. The tacos were great- the steak was tender & they were loaded! Service was great, we encountered a couple servers & all were very friendly & helpful. We went about 4pm so it wasn't the full menu but they had good options regardless. If we're ever back in Long Beach, we will definitely eat here again.

Perfect day in Long Beach for a margarita and some feel-good Mexican food. No wait when we arrived. The vibe? Super chill. It struck that perfect balance between family-friendly and date-night romantic. The fish taco was missing that kick until we had a bite of the spicy pepper. Margarita was crafted well. The atmosphere was just right sunny, breezy, and relaxed. Bring your parking validation ticket and you'll only pay $5.

Food was nice, quick service and nice people. It was pretty empty but we went early and on a weekday so thats probably why. Views are amazing, if you love the coast. I loved the guacamole and roasted fuego sauce tho. 8.5/10 def recommend !

Valentine's Day brunch at Fuego inside the Maya Hotel did not disappoint! The view of the Queen Mary was stunning, and the Mexican food hit the spot. The menu had plenty of options, including a kid-friendly menu, so everyone could find something they loved. Nothing was a game-changer, but the friendly staff and gorgeous views made up for it. Would be a great spot to bring the family or enjoy a casual celebration.

Well I have to say that Fuego has definitely improved. The food was amazing this time. Service was good and the ambiance was amazing as usual. On a special note, you have to try the crab cakes. They were spectacular !

First time trying out this location and let me tell you if you're looking for some good food with a great view. I definitely recommend this location. The service was amazing. The food was amazing and the view was amazing. Brought my wife here for her birthday. It was a party of six and they took care of us as soon as we walked in. They kept checking up on us filling up our water cups. The food was delicious all in all the experience here was amazing. I'll definitely be coming back here soon. .

My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Fuego at Maya Hotel, and we loved the ambience and amazing view. We sat on the patio with heaters, which kept us warm and comfortable. The food and drinks were delicious, and the Valentine's three-course menu was great. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back for another dinner date.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting the area. Loved the ambiance with the water view. The food was pretty straight forward, but the service and energy definitely earned them some points.

No, not anymore. They stopped offering hookah during COVID.

I see the hotel has different options for wedding ceremony/ reception. Does the restaurant host wedding receptions?

Thanks for your question. Our restaurant Fuego does not host wedding ceremonies or receptions. We do have beautiful outdoor spaces for weddings & ceremonies at Hotel Maya.

We offer delivery service through Doordash, Uber Eats & Grubhub or you can order Fuego ToGo, we do not deliver.

So although definitely more expensive than more casual Peruvian spots, we could taste the quality. I also loved the arrocito norteno, as I love seafood paella, and this was basically that. The scallops and octopus were so good! This place is a bit more luxe than the other Peruvian places I've tried before, which is reflected in their price. Although we were there in the day, I could imagine this place being a cute date spot at night. The flavours encompassed in the dishes we'd ordered which were the Lomito Saltado and the Aji De Gallina were as authentic here as what we dined on back in 2024 which certifies them as premier purveyors of Peruvian cuisine. Drinks wise, they had Maracuya juice which is their local version of passionfruit in that region as well as Chicha Morada which is their Purple Corn beverage composed of cinnamon, cloves, fresh lime juice and when in Peru, they'll utilize pineapple husks for flavouring. It apparently is more popular in Peru than Coca-Cola and after a few sips you'll inevitably see why. Next up when I return will be the Causa trio, in the meanwhile this establishment comes heavily recommended from someone who has traveled to Peru as they hit the nail on the head with their offerings.

At this point it was just the two of us and the server. Waited roughly 45 minutes for our food because it looks like the server decided to take a lunch while we wait for our food. The server did not check on us or apologize to us that it was taking a while for the food to come out until she saw the frustration on our face and inform us the food is almost ready! 45 minutes later, she brought out the empanadas and I received two chicken and one shrimp... it was OK with the help of the sauces that was given. The shrimp ceviche was actually good, the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Here's the thing, the menu does not have prices on it and when we received the bill, the ceviche was $22! For the amount and for what it was, it was not worth it. The whole experience was horrible.

But the limited menu looked promising so we gave it a go. It turned out that everything was delicious. The spare rib was fall off the bone tender and had great smoky flavor. The beans were surprisingly tasty too. (I always find beans an unnecessary and bland accompaniment). I absolutely loved the brisket stir fry. The flavors blended well and it had a nice kick. The meat was so tender and I appreciated the meat to noodle ratio. The chicken inside the empanada was deliciously smoky but not overly so and the crust was the right consistency and crisp. It came with 3 sauces which were good but would have like a more spicier option. I tried two cocktails that were in the collab menu. The black old fashioned was too strong for me. I definitely preferred the buffalo soldier which was tasty and refreshing. My favorite dessert was the Natilla. It was like a flan mousse and so good. The toasted coconut flakes added a nice texture. The oblea was fun to eat. That cream and jam were a great combo. Overall a worthwhile experience. I hope to come back to try their regular menu items.

The fillings all had decent flavor, but none of them were outstanding or impressed me enough to want more. I will say, the green salsa they included with the order SIGNIFICANTLY improved the taste and experience of the empanadas. By itself, I'd rate the empanadas 3/5, but with the salsa, it definitely goes up to at least 4/5. But I dislike that the empanadas can't hold their own without the addition of the salsa. The shop is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking. I think there were a few tables outside to enjoy the food, but not much seating otherwise. So for my dad's birthday I figure bring him here since we are central American something he would enjoy. Total bait and switch and it worked because based on what I got at the Yelp event I was expecting the same ingredients and presentation. I'll have images of what I had at the Yelp event vs what we were served. No plantain chips, we got tortilla chip strips, ceviche was more like a pico de gallo salsa with minimal shrimp chopped up so tiny you couldn't even taste it. Not worth the $24 or $25 that I paid for it. Even the ceviche de caracol looked like it had more protein in it than vegetables. Not sure if they're trying to save costs by making it more of a Salsa than ceviche. The waitress was attentive no complaints there and the location is pretty big inside. The restroom is on the other side of the location so you need to walk thru the dance floor to get to it There's only 2 restrooms, one for women one for men. The attendant let like 5 guys go in at the same time asm door is almost always left open (weird lol) and women restroom always has a line. I personally probably would never come here again lol
