    Side Omelette
    Frank L.

Specifically, for the long enduring Spaghetti with Hamburger Steak and meat sauce, it always crosses my mind when I am near to the Fort (which is OFTEN). Its hearty, filling, decently priced. I like how the spaghetti noodles are cooked also with a slight garlic or oil attached to it to give a different texture. Getting a Side Omelette also is a necessity everytime. Splash it with Tabasco or Tapatio, yummmmmmmm. See you soon and more often Fort as the season nears....:) GOHAWKS!!!

This would be my "last meal" on earth. Kid you not. So good!

Been our go-to since the late 90's! We've seen the turnaround, turnovers, and so on and so on. Menu has changed over the years as well. My favorites: spaghetti with steak burgers, enoki mushrooms with broc spaghetti, tempura and their delicious coffee. Ambiance you asked? It's always noisy! People come here to have a beer and snacks after the games of Mariners and the Seahawks. Service is fast and attentive. One of the reasons we have not stopped coming here. It still is a good place for foods and drinks. I recommend it. Staff is always accommodating and attentive. I like it.

Meat sauce pasta with garlic mayo

Some of my favorite japanese comfort food in seattle. I love a homey and rustic japanese restaurant. The service here is always so friendly and ive never had a bad interaction here. The garlic mayo pasta is always my go to here. The curry is pretty standard but you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. I love the mango cream soda here as well! This place is great for groups and also just eating alone.

The service and vibe of the place were incredible, so I was super excited to try the food. First of all, the melon cream soda I got was fantastic, was basically a Japanese melon soda with ice cream on top, loved it a lot. Unfortunately the oyakodon I got had virtually no flavor. It seriously just tasted like eating unseasoned chicken on unseasoned egg. Virtually no dashi flavor whatsoever. I've had better oyakodon in Reno, which, when you're in a major city like Seattle is honestly embarrassing. I mean, you take one look at it and it looks like it's going to be packed with flavor and taste phenomenal, but I suppose looks can be deceiving. Maybe it's cause I don't drink alcohol, maybe the food would be better sloshed, I don't know. Either way it was incredibly disappointing. Again, the server and vibe were top notch, absolutely a 10/10 from that aspect, I just wish the food wasn't so... blah

How I heard of this place: Friends of ours were craving udon and shared that this is the best place for the broth in town. Plus, old-school vibes make for a perfect hangout spot for the 20-somethings and 30-somethings in the International District. Type of cuisine: Post-War American-Japanese fusion comfort food. "Imagine you are having a great time with friends when all of you get hungry. One of you has the urge for Curry, the other would rather have Pasta, and one has his mind set on Donburi. Unfortunately you don't have the time or money to go to three different restaurants. So what can you do? The answer is simple, come experience the new Fort St. George restaurant." "A long-time favorite with locals and visitors alike Fort St George restaurant recently combined with its neighbor, Maekawa Bar. Instead of two separate establishments the new Fort St George is now a single restaurant, but featuring items from both menus! Regardless if you are yearning for Katsu-Don or would rather have spaghetti with meat sauce, Fort St George can sate your appetite! Be sure to try our Bento Boxes. Oishii, ne!?" Ambiance: The dark, seemingly dank, funky, eclectic and completely out of the 1970s/1980s, the space is set upstairs in a mini mall off of the busy streets below. Mall interior is reminiscent of 80s/90s malls by way of flooring, tiles, stairs and colors. Once upstairs, you enter the dark space that is Fort St. George - which got it's name from the original owner's favorite spot to eat in England. "Located only a block from the International District light rail station and close to the stadiums, Fort St George is open for lunch and dinner daily. Want to cheer your hometown team with your friends? Come join us for happy hour and game day specials in our sports lounge. More interested in a quiet meal? Please join us in our freshly redecorated restaurant for a quick lunch or relaxing dinner." What I ordered: Nabeyaki Udon ($20) - a hot pot of udon with chicken, tempura prawn, egg and vegetables. What I loved: The menu! It has such a novel selection of comfort food, varied from what I'm used to, but intriguing nonetheless. Why I loved it: The vibes are chill, the patrons young and happy, the server busy and friendly. Cost: Average to high

Nice hidden little spot with a cozy atmosphere. My husband and I parked on the street. It's located upstairs inside of what looks like a little shopping area. Service was friendly and we were seated at a table. Food: - cream soda - we got this because it looks like a classic! Lots of people ordered this but it was on the sweet side in my opinion - bacon Doria rice - this was yummy - hamburger curry - curry sauce was just ok. Nothing special but the hamburger was pretty tasty.

I've been wanting to try this place for many years now and I've finally made it. I got their Japanese curry which is what they are known for. I got one with hamburger steak and the other either omelet. The curry was really good and rich in flavor and I'm telling it compliments really well with the rice. I could eat plate after plate of just the curry sauce and rice alone. Their curry really opened up my appetite. I think the curry works better with the hamburger steak over the omelet.

Beef Curry with Chicken Cutlet and hamburger steak Mentaiko pasta Shrimp and Baby Scallop Doria
    Anita M.

I got the beef curry with hamburg steak, chicken katsu, and potato croquette. Hamburg steak was flavorful and juicy. Chicken katsu was tender and crispy. This is a very large serving! Shrimp and scallop in the doria were plump and cooked perfectly, their flavors sink in with the rice and cheese. Cheese on top was torched and had a cheese pull. Mentaiko pasta was very flavorful, pungent, but not too salty. This may not be everyone's dish since it is on the fishier side, but I am acquired to it. Staff is always nice here

    Buta Kimchi
    Ananya J.

Was brought here by a friend and didn't know what to expect but the restaurant seemed very well loved and known by customers. Ordered the Buta Kimchi (twice!) and it was our favorite dish of the evening. The Zaru Soba was classic and tasty. Not my favorite noodle dish I've discovered but as far as soba goes, this is well done. The tempura was a bit disappointing. Got soggy quickly - I would've rather gotten a small side of tempura with the Udon (this is offered). Tempura didn't come with a sauce so the Udon dip was needed. It came on a bed of rice. Ambiance was great. Staff was attentive and friendly!

Second time to this place. The restaurant was spacious. Even though one side of the restaurant was pretty full of customers, we were able to find a big table on the other side. We ordered warm sake, cream soda with melon, freshly squeezed salty dog, gyutan shioyaki, omelet, vegetable tempura, bacon & mushroom doria, tempura ice cream. All the drinks and food were delicious. The omelet was to die for with the Mentaiko on top. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. They served our dishes very efficiently. Prices were still very good given the inflations nowadays. We two each paid $66 after taxes and tips. We luckily found parking on the street.

I ordered a miso ramen and my parents ordered the tonkatsu ramen. As someone from the Bay Area, I was so surprised by the richness of the ramen and it definitely beats some of my usual spots. Each bowl was ~$15 and a smaller bowl, so would definitely advise getting an extra batch of noodles. The chashu is melt in your mouth tender. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork. My dad was honestly pretty pissed circling around the area for an hour for parking, but said it was all worth it, even waiting in a long line.

We walked into a casual, compact space with a mix of counter and table seating that fits the quick ramen shop style. The interior is efficient and well organized, though it can get extremely busy, and the wait times are often one of the biggest parts of the experience, especially during peak hours. Once seated, the space feels functional and comfortable, designed around getting a bowl of ramen in front of you without unnecessary distractions. The ramen is built around rich tonkotsu broth with a lot of customization options. We appreciated the ability to adjust things like noodle firmness, richness, and spice level, which made each bowl feel more personalized. The regular tonkotsu ramen stood out for its deep umami flavor without feeling overly heavy, and the noodles had a great texture that held up well against the broth. The vegan options also stand out, including miso-based bowls with flavorful broths that give non-pork options more depth than many ramen shops offer. The toppings are generous, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked to that perfect jammy consistency. Beyond ramen, the menu has a few sides that complement the meal well, including gyoza that came out crisp and well filled. We also grabbed mochi ice cream for something sweet afterward, a light finish after the rich broth. The seasonal ramen options are worth checking out since they add variety beyond the standard bowls, giving regular visitors a reason to come back and try something new. Service is generally quick and friendly, especially considering how busy the restaurant gets. The ordering system is straightforward, and the staff handles the constant flow of customers efficiently. The team kept the pace moving without making the experience feel rushed, and they were attentive to refilling water and checking in on the table. The biggest downside is the popularity, since the lines can sometimes feel long for a relatively quick meal, but the wait tends to move faster than expected given the efficient turnover. Ramen Danbo is a reliable spot for a satisfying bowl of ramen in Seattle. The customizable bowls, strong broth, and consistent noodle quality make it a place worth visiting, although planning around busy hours can make the experience much better. The balance of customization and quality means you can dial in your bowl exactly how you like it, and the focused approach to the menu keeps the attention where it belongs.

Upon entering the restaurant, all the tables were occupied, and we were told to wait a few minutes before being seated. We only ended up waiting about 5 minutes. The menu was very informative and provided a definition of what aburasoba is. There were also directions at the bottom of the menu explaining how to eat your ramen. Since it was our first time here, we started off with a peach lemonade soda. My boyfriend chose the No. 1, Homura, and I chose the No. 2, Pot Roast. We both ordered a raw egg on top and a side of chashu pork. We wanted to order the onigiri, but unfortunately, they were all out. After about 5 minutes, our food arrived! The presentation was lovely. I think 15 minute wait was the longest I heard. We ordered the takoyaki (shared, one piece each) and I got the #1 Homura Aburasoba with an extra piece of chashu. I didn't add anything to mine for sauces. The takoyaki was nothing special, but I got a nice chunk of octopus. (3.5/5) When I saw the photos online, I thought these looked like decorated Indomie mi Goreng dishes. And that's basically exactly what they are. Reviews say that they're filling, but I wasn't that full after finishing mine. It's satisfying but almost all carbs. The flavor was good and I liked the hint of seafood through the fish powder, but it comes at a price point that's a tad high for me for what's in the bowl. Would still recommend ordering 1-2 extra Chashu though. I tried my friend's Original Aburasoba and the flavor profiles are pretty different, so the sauces and toppings definitely play a role. The noodles do soak things up. It was a cool experience but I wasn't blown away. I would bring people for a novelty dish once, probably wouldn't come back.
