Such good spicy Chinese food! Can customize spicy and numbing level. Food is very big serving and price is very good for what you get! Would come back again for sure

No frills, amazing grilled fish that warms up your world! We ordered the peppercorn flavor broth, medium spicy with boneless snakehead fish. It was not too spicy, the fish was so tender, and the broth was delicious. I can't wait to go back!

Szechuan Fish is the true definition of "hidden gem"! I just came back from eating here an hour ago, and wanted to write a review for them right away! Checking their Yelp, I was surprised to see only 2 reviews as of today 7/20/24, as this restaurant has opened in Chinatown International District since late last year. Perhaps part of the reason why it seems unheard of is because Szechuan Fish is mostly known within the new-gen Chinese community, but I hope more people in Seattle get the chance to try this place out! My friend and I came in and we ordered the boneless Snakehead Fillet Szechuan Fish that comes with select 2 meats and 2 vegetables. We ordered this with beef, lamb, Napa cabbage, and fried tofu. The total for this meal set was about $48 before tax+tip. We also ordered some side rice to eat alongside this meal. All the food came out hot and delicious! The fish was soft and felt like it melted in your mouth. The other meats were also good, and everything else paired well together. Service was great, very attentive! My friend sneezed into a napkin, and the waitress dropped off some extra napkins without us asking, so I thought that was very observant of them. I think if you haven't tried Szechuan style fish or love to eat it, you should definitely give Szechuan Fish a try!

are here with my family and it was good. the best dish was definitely the fried tofu stick because it was seasoned soooo well. pricing was not too bad from what I remember...with the exception of $3 for a small white rice bowl. but, the food was good. would love to rate higher, but the service was a bit poor. No walk-through with the menu or recommendations on which dishes to get if you were indecisive. It was as if the staff did not want to talk at all unless you spoke mandarin. Genuinely felt off-putting, so I do not recommend to eat here alone. bathroom was big. crowded with the random cleaning supplies there. not open for public use. when you go to the bathroom, watch your step because there is one stair to step down in order to enter the bathroom . This place was just okay and I cannot believe that the parking for 2 hours on the lot was $15, whereas side street parking for 2 hours was $10 on weekend night from 1600 to 1800, or 4 to 6PM. at least there are nice photo ops around this restaurant

very typical Chinese, I'm a Chinese student and I eat it even missing the taste of my mom cook! Service also perfect. Clean.

This place really hits the spot. The flavors are on point and the quality is really high. Super generous portions and great variety of flavors (beyond their signature fish dishes even). Will definitely be coming back!

Look no further if you're wanting delicious szechuan food. Everything we got here was so good. Servings are big and prices are great. We got enough food to feed 4-5 people and it was under $100. Service was great. The food came out quick and it was very cute on the inside. They had lots of small skewers and the Chinese burger on the menu that would be perfect to grab before a mariner or Seahawks game. I wish we would have been able to try even more on the menu. My highlight of what we ordered were the squid skewers. Such a unique flavor and delicious crisp!

Szechuan fish This is first time visiting this restaurant, I didn't know this location was at the Pacific Center, after talking to the server, I realized it's the same owner and chef, so I was very pleased to try their dish again after COVID, please see my below comments. 1.Restaurant environment: This location is way smaller than the previous one, total about 7 seats, 1 big round table and 3 medium ones and 3 small ones. If you have a big party, I don't think this is a good spot. Music is all in Chinese, not too loud which is good. 2.Menu: Most of the dishes are spicy, you need to be careful if you can't handle spicy, also you could ask the waitress to adjust the spicy level. Menu is one page only, that makes it so easy to read. 3.Food quality: This time I decided to tried their signature dish which is the Szechuan fish (with bone in). There were so many meat and vegetables you could choose to add on, but the fish itself already came with lots of things inside with no extra charge. (complimentary two choices of meat and two choices of veggies), any add ons cost extra money. Fish was absolutely delicious and everything was so flavorful, fish was very fresh, meat was very firm, didn't taste like frozen ones, skin was crispy, there were lots of add on meat and veggies that soaked in the sauce, which were flavored as well. Even though we ordered bone in fish, there were too many small bones, but still, if you can't eat bone in, just ordering no bone fish. We couldn't even finish the whole fish ( just two of us), so we had to box the leftovers. 4.Drinks: I didn't try their drinks, only water. But i saw other people ordered water melon juice and they were fresh made! Very surprising! 5.Parking: They don't have their own parking, it's Chinatown parking just like other restaurants. We came on a Sunday, so it was a free parking. But I saw a big parking lot across the street from this restaurant, I guess you can park there but with a fee though. 6.Service: We didn't get much service since we just ordered one dish, but she seemed pretty nice that she was telling everyone that they will have Chinese BBQ soon (skewers) which i am very excited about. Overall, this one fish dish was more than enough for two people, the price was not too bad, about 60 dollars for two people (before tax and tips), we still had some leftovers. Flavor was very good, spicy was the key! My wife and I love spicy food, so fish was spicy enough for us, also numbing too, love it! If I have to pick out some flaws, that will be parking and the size of this restaurant, there is no free parking and size is too small for group of 10 plus people. But I will come back again to try other dishes, especially the noodle caught my attention, also Chinese BBQ as well. I attached the menu and what I ordered for your reference. Hope my feedback is helpful, it's definitely worthy to try, Bon Appetit!

love love LOVE this place and have loved it since their old location. was so overjoyed to see them reopen on king st! please give them more business - their food is fresh, seasoned to perfection, and the portions are HUGE! not to mention the service is friendly and fast as well. i dine here often and also get their takeout and they never skimp on portions either way. their fish is amazing (i love how its lightly fried before going into the stew - the subtle crunch and flavor is yummy), but their non-fish dishes are so good, too! oh also they open until midnight - perfect for night owls like us. please show them some love and support - they are very hardworking small business with the best szechuan fish in the area!

I had lived in Beijing for 8 years and spoke pretty good mandarin for a 老外 so I ordered for us. Our waitress, one of two sisters who ran the place, I call her 陈大姐, said to me, Wow, you can speak Chinese! You must be very smart! I replied, You must be very smart. You can speak Chinese! At first she didn't know what to say but then laughed. It was the beginning of a lovely relationship. However since the pandemic we had not been back. Perhaps yesterday we were in the spirit of celebrating the Spring Festival. We decided to go there. What a great choice! 陈大姐 by coincidence was working. She retired years ago. (Her sister opened another 老四川 in Bellevue but unfortunately has since passed away.) 陈大姐 immediately recognized us. She remembered our son and other family members who often joined us there. It felt like old friends getting together again. Unfortunately my wife and I were the only ones in our little group. It's better to have more people so you can order more dishes. We only got 4 dishes, 宫保鱼, 椒盐虾,干煸四季豆, 夫妻肺片。Gong bao fish, salt and pepper shrimp, green beans and "husband and wife lung strips"! Actually that's a beef and tendon appetizer. Everything tasted just like we remember. Well, the fish dish was wetter than before but still tasty. Flavors are authentic but a little toned down from the Sichuan food in China and in a few other local restaurants. The main flavor of Sichuan cuisine is 麻辣 or spicy numbing. It's not really so hot as it is numbing. Your lips tingle. Most people who didn't grow up with this aren't big fans. Their 水煮肉 or 水煮鱼 comes pretty close though. Leftovers with either of those and leftover rice plus whatever make the very best 烩饭, huifan! Just boil it. We arrived there early and there were just a few other customers eating. And they left soon after. So it was just us and a steady stream of delivery drivers coming in to pick up food to go. I would consider ordering on line like that but this food doesn't hold up well over the distance to our home. Although the interior had been remodeled since our last visit, the decor is fairly stark. Combine that with the location in a strip mall on the corner of Jackson and 12th, which has seen better days, ambience isn't a real draw. However if what you want is a very good meal at reasonable prices then you should go to the Sichuanese Cuisine restaurant in Seattle. (I prefer it to the one in Bellevue.) Too bad you probably won't get to meet 陈大姐。Now that we know the food is still great, we will return.

Since it is a small establishment, I am a bit hesitant to give it three stars, but it was underwhelming compared to what I had expected after reading rave reviews. The inside was very welcoming to me; it was homey, giving similar vibes to my grandma's home/kitchen. There is very limited seating. FOOD: The food is definitely fresh and authentic, but I think I just prefer stronger, bolder flavors. The food here was very light and had a sort of healthy taste to it? Pan Fried Dumplings (3.5/5) - The fried dumpling skin had a nice texture to it, and the filling was juicy. It was okay; I didn't have strong feelings about it. Pork and Chive Dumplings with Hot and Spicy Sauce (3/5) - From the name, I was expecting a stronger flavor. The sauce was on a milder, vinegary side, so I was rather disappointed. Xiao Long Bao (4/5) - Juicy and came out piping hot (as reflected by the steam blurring my photos of it). Probably my favorite thing from what we ordered. Would've paired nicely with some ginger, but I forgot to ask if that was available. Szechuan Beef Noodle with Soup (3/5) - A cleaner, slightly herbal type of broth compared to what I am used to. SERVICE: The person helping us was nice. I don't know if they were having an off day, but it took a really long time for us to receive our food, despite it not being busy. The prices and portions here are really reasonable. Note that they only take cash or Venmo payments. TLDR// Being transparent, I found this place to be a bit underwhelming, but maybe I came in with too high of expectations. I would still recommend trying it to see if it's your cup of tea. It's always worth supporting local businesses.

Our go-to order is the beef and lamb platter, crab sticks, winter melon, potatoes, and their milk tea (which comes with free refills). The broth bases and ingredients are always absolutely flawless. However, instead of just reviewing the food today, I want to share some unique insights and perspectives from my background as a former restaurateur who used to own and operate a hot pot restaurant myself. The True History of Chongqing Hot Pot: Humble Beginnings In China, Chongqing hot pot was originally the ultimate food of the people. Back in the day, it was famously called "1-to-3" (1托3)--meaning meat dishes cost 3 RMB and veggies cost 1 RMB. Traditional Beijing mutton hot pot (Shuan Yang Rou) could never compete with that kind of price-to-performance ratio. True hot pot history spans only about a century. Chongqing hot pot originated with laborers working along the riverbanks. Because they couldn't afford premium cuts, they used various animal offal for dipping. Take Huanghou (黄喉 - Ox/Pork Aorta) for example: it is actually the main aorta of the animal. It requires meticulous, layer-by-layer peeling because only the middle layer is crunchy and edible. Similarly, while a cow has four stomachs, only the third stomach--the Omasum (牛百叶 - Beef Tripe)--is used for hot pot. All of these ingredients require intense, repetitive processing before they can ever hit the table. Why Hot Pot is Secretly an Exceptionally Healthy Food At its core, hot pot is a remarkably healthy way to eat. Nowadays, so many people suffer from cavities and tooth decay. When you boil it down, it stems from one major issue: eating too many carbohydrates. A Quick Evolutionary Detour: During the Paleolithic era, humans didn't eat rice or noodles because wheat and rice had not yet been domesticated. Once the Agricultural Revolution began, the proportion of carbs in the human diet spiked dramatically. When carbs enter the mouth, they break down into simple sugars. When these sugars meet oral microbes, they ferment into organic acids that attack our teeth. Human tooth enamel is incredibly strong--second in hardness only to diamonds--and under normal circumstances, it is designed to last a lifetime. Carbs destroy it. For example, Easter Island once had the highest cavity rate in the world; due to a lack of fresh water, locals relied on cassava and sugarcane juice. The massive amount of carbohydrates caused their teeth to rot starting at age 14, and by age 20, most had virtually no usable teeth left. I'm rambling a bit, but my point stands: because hot pot emphasizes fresh meats and vegetables over heavy carbs, it is inherently very healthy! The Science Behind the Flavor Another fascinating characteristic of Sichuan/Chongqing mala hot pot is the continuous simmering process. As the ingredients are repeatedly heated in the broth, the aromatic molecules are continuously re-released. Because of this chemical process, the longer it boils, the more fragrant and flavorful it becomes.

Our dining experience began with cold appetizers, including a mixed black fungus dish with a satisfying crunch and tangy vinegar flavor, alongside pickled lotus root vegetables with a garlicky and subtly spicy taste. For our main courses, we opted for the Deep Fried Fish Szechuan Style, which was filled with cod fish, had a lighter batter coating, and a pleasing crunch, but beware of its savory and fiery flavor, which intensifies after several bites. The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce even though we asked more than once for the sauce to be on the side. We liked the bell peppers and onions in the sauce. The chicken pieces were of decent size. I did not care for the sauce. The white rice was well made and fluffy. The rice was probably the best part of the dish.
