This place is phenomenal. I had a very very specific request for them because they were the closest I could find to copying a type of fried fish. My girlfriend wanted. Which basically is frying little fillets of fish without really battering them in anything or breading them at all. They did exactly what I asked them to do and didn't charge me any extra for all of the requests and the food came out so perfect. There were so much of it as well for the price. The people were so nice and accommodating I'll be going back often just because of that but again the food was incredible. So Very disappointed with our delivered meal on 8/31/26. Dinner for two, we've eaten at FLF at least 20 times since they opened. We ordered the usual, schezuan shrimp and moo shu pork with a green onion pancake starter. The pancake was bland, not seasoned, but ok. But wow, I open the shrimp and I can smell ammonia coming from the meal. I try one bite of shrimp just to make sure it's not me because it is heavily spiced and cooked in oil. Nope, shrimp is seriously spoiled, and the moo shu is smelling off as well. We decide we can't eat the food, and I decided to head down to the restaurant so I could talk with staff and have them check out the meal. Jin, the waiter in charge, tells me after I come in that it doesn't smell bad to her. Jesus, just what you want to hear when you've driven back to restaurant with the spoiled shrimp. Strike one. Jin then tells me that the employees eat the shrimp today and are fine. Strike two. I explain im really not trying to be difficult, but Im concerned about the defensive posturing in light of a possible food poisoning situation. So Jin, to prove her point, goes ahead and eats one of the shrimps, the other male staff watching her with some discomfort. I tell her to spit it out, but nope, down the hatch it goes. Jim goes on to tell me that we eat dead seafood (you know us---People in Everett--and yeah maybe it's a little soft but that's just typical dead seafood. Strike three. She did finally offer to refund my meal in cash, and I told her I was really trying to just make sure the restaurant wasn't unintentionally making my neighbors, friends, and family sick. I wasn't interested in going on blast with a review and contacting the health district, but after sleeping on it, I'm doing the right thing. Sorry Jin, your ego got in the way of a resolution. Be careful.... PS A note for Jin and Flying Lemon Fish. When I was 23, I served some bad clams at a fine dining restaurant. The family called to tell us their daughter was in the hospital with some liver problems. We immediately went to the cooler and went through all the shellfish, called back the family and offered to take care of any medical bills or follow-up. It happens if you serve food occasionally, just be respectful with your response, it goes a long way instead of challenging a customer's dissatisfaction. read more

The positive part was the sweet and sour chicken was still very warm when it reached my house. The vegetable chow mein was not. It is a huge portion but it is completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever. Usually onions add something but that did not help. I don't know how you can mess up noodles but no one in my family would eat them and there is one person in my family that will manage to eat almost anything and they refused. The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce even though we asked more than once for the sauce to be on the side. We liked the bell peppers and onions in the sauce. The chicken pieces were of decent size. I did not care for the sauce. The white rice was well made and fluffy. The rice was probably the best part of the dish. About an hour later, we ended up throwing up the food. A complete waste of $31 dollars (which is pricey for what was supposed to be a lunch special). Also, vegetable chow mein and chicken chow mein is the same price which we found out after we had paid. Lunch is pictured and mention to include soup BUT you only get soup if you dine in. Swung by for dinner after a Wolfpack game in Everett. Plenty of street parking on Colby. Wasn't busy due to it being a Sunday evening so no need to check in at the kiosk. Ordered spicey sour dumplings as an appetizer. Was hoping for a little more flavor honestly. For entres we ordered Basil Beef with Ginger Sauce ( great presentation), a Basil Beef dish and a side of pickled veg fried rice. Staff was very friendly and offered choices. I'm so glad there's finally an authentic Chinese/Sichuan restaurant in Everett! Yes, there are plenty of Chinese-American restaurants in the area, but they all cater to the demographic here... which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just means I have to drive to Seattle for good food. We typically get takeout from the restaurant but decided to dine in this time. Our favorites are the salt and pepper pork knuckles, mapo tofu, garlic eggplant, sole fish in spicy gravy, feiteng combo (spam, tripe, intestines, sole fish, wood ear mushroom, pork/duck blood), home style tofu, and the intestines with chili. We're planning on coming back to try their duck next! Highly recommend if in the area and looking for great food! They also have good lunch combos. read more

Tea Smoked Duck had good strong smoke and spot on seasoning. Stir-fried white fish was silky smooth. Mixed Black fungus a was nicely refreshing vinegary complement. Wonton Soup is in a big bowl to for several people. Try the good (less guilt) Purple Rice as a better carb option. Honey Ciba (glutinous rice cake) was not overly sweet as a dessert. 12/15/25: We were in the Everett, WA area that day, which was a day of heavy rains, gusty winds at 16 mph, and we were craving good Szechuan cuisine, so we found a quaint spot tucked away in downtown Everett along Colby Avenue; we were greeted with warmth and gracious hospitality. Our dining experience began with cold appetizers, including a mixed black fungus dish with a satisfying crunch and tangy vinegar flavor, alongside pickled lotus root vegetables with a garlicky and subtly spicy taste. For our main courses, we opted for the Deep Fried Fish Szechuan Style, which was filled with cod fish, had a lighter batter coating, and a pleasing crunch, but beware of its savory and fiery flavor, which intensifies after several bites. We also selected the Szechuan Hometown Tofu, which offered our taste buds a savory flavor, enhanced by chili sauce, a crunchy exterior, and a soft, silky interior. On the side, we ordered a bowl of steamed purple rice and white rice. An elegant Chinese restaurant with bright decorative notes like hanging red lanterns, on a walkable block of Colby Avenue with easy street parking certainly packs some curb appeal. This place caters to meat eaters so be warned if you're looking for vegetarian options that they are limited. When I came here with co-workers we did okay -- only because the vegetarians switched to "flexitarians" for the meal. Duck and lamb are standouts on the menu marking the sophistication of the kitchen. We ordered a bunch of dishes family style --and we were able to enjoy sharing plates. The service by some elegant ladies is on point. The price point for lunch is where I ding this restaurant. Lunch items are priced at around $20, and you get upcharged ($2) if you order the "black rice". The rub is that each lunch menu item is a monotonous single item such as batter fried fish pieces, or egg plant, or fried green beans. So there's no satisfaction of a diverse presentation on the plate unless you order at least two separate lunch items...and that sets you back $40 + rice costs for lunch. This is not a good deal on the wallet nor particularly satisfying on the palate-- relative to any number of nearby establishments where you can spend $20 and get a smorgasbord of delicious protein and side vegetables over a bowl of rice for lunch. I wouldn't do this place for lunch. It's not worth the money. It was monotonous food, albeit expertly fast fried as the smoothest Chinese cooks deliver, with an oily sheen. "FRYING LEMON FISH" had my attention immediately when I searched downtown Everett, WA for asian cuisine, and WOW did this place deliver. Frying Lemon Fish is a Szechuan centric restaurant that is easily one of the best Asian food experinces I've had. Everything we ordered was hot, fresh and delicious - the hot and sour soup had an amazing depth of flavor I dont think I've ever tasted before, the mu shu beef was perfect and the cumin lamb (first time trying it) was a spicy melange of tastes completely new to me. Frying Lemon Fish is one of those places that instantly jumped to my favorites list and I will be going back. read more

So I was sent a notice from another elite yelper she had eaten at this new restaurant off of Colby. This is a Chinese food restaurant with a Szechuan spin to it. There were three of us at dinner including myself. my husband and daughter ordered the egg drop soup and I ordered the hot sour soup. Both were amazing and the egg drop soup was very colorful and it's my understanding they had just cooked the soup. We ordered the fried rice along with the sweet-and-sour chicken, Mongolian beef and pot stickers . The sweet-and-sour chicken was perfect. There was just enough sauce on the chicken. Sometimes when you order sweet-and-sour chicken, the chicken is swimming in sweet-and-sour sauce . As you can tell by the photos, they did not oversauce the chicken. The Mongolian was spicier than I normally have, but it was good! If you're looking for the Chinese noodles that go underneath the, typical Mongolian beef recipe this recipe doesn't have it. The serving is filled with beef and onions. We also ordered a plate of potstickers. They had a very great and lovely taste along with almost a chipotle like dipping sauce. Not your normal potsticker dipping sauce, but it was good. This restaurant has only been in business for about a month and we visited it on a Friday night at about 7 PM. There were only a few seats open so the word has gotten out. The food is great. The staff is very nice. It was a very lovely dinner for an affordable price. In short Brand new, already hyped, and absolutely worth every bit of the buzz. Not just five stars for value or anything else--five stars and then some just for the food. It's the only Szechuan place for several miles, and easily the best Szechuan for many more miles. Some of the best Chinese of any kind I've had in my life. In long Near the heart of downtown, with angle-in parking on wide-ish streets. Old buildings that have all come back to life. This place has that mid-century tin framing around the window and the door, but it's light and airy and new inside. Everything--absolutely everything--has at least a new coat of paint, if not all new finishes. Nice light-colored engineered wood floors, pretty matching furniture, nice wall decor. Plenty of window light and ambient light. This place gets slammed. If you go during peak lunch or dinner hours, wear comfortable shoes and prepare to hang out a bit. Try to hit the off hours, at least for now. The lunch and dinner menus both go on and on. Lots of photos of most every dish, so all the pages make it seem a bit longer than it really is. They had two servers on the floor for lunch today, and they were in motion absolutely every second. It still felt a little laggy at first, 'cause the kitchen was slammed, too. The owner came in carrying bags of something they had run out of, took stock of the dining room, and came over to offer us a bigger table and comps of hot & sour and green tea. Took the edge off in a hurry! Hot & sour soup Thick stock but not sticky cloying with corn starch--just a nice hearty nourishment. Tons and tons of mushrooms. Awesome when kicked up with chili paste. So light and flaky, it's like the best scratch southern biscuit except super thin. Very much an appetizer-size portion, which is nice if you're trying (like me) not to gorge yourself on carbs but still love Chinese food. Amazing soy dipping sauce with a bit of sweetness. Really clings to each bite. Spicy sour dumplings Perfectly cooked, huge flavors inside, big flavors to the soy-chili sauce and veg all over the top. Tons of scallions and peppers to chase around with your chopsticks. You could order this over and over and still want more. Fried prawns Shown unshelled, head-on in the menu photo. Not sure if we said the name wrong when we ordered or if they always come out shelled, battered, and fried. Anyway, these were great. Cool presentation! See photo. Steaming hot for sure. Tons of flavor. Beef with spicy chili Masterpiece of a dish. Comes out in a heated serving bowl. Piping hot without a doubt. Veg cooked just enough to heat them through and soak in the seasonings; they're not raw salad veg anymore but still show lots of crunch. Absolute perfection. Similarly, the beef is tender, loaded with seasoning, and couldn't be better. Lots of unexpected veg in this, too--cauliflower doesn't always come with this, some thin-sliced root veg, some lotus flower cross-sections. Hard to stop eating this one. We saw many, many other things we can't wait to try. The owner was cautious with us, telling us that one or two things were more to Chinese tastes than to American tastes. I'm sure folks at better restaurants like this get tired of surprising sheltered folks and having to take stuff off the bill, but we want to try everything here. Restaurant is two months new and very cute. Outside is fresh for the area and cute. We were immediately welcomed and seated. It was fairly busy for a Friday evening at dinner time. Continued to get busier the longer we stayed. Menu has pics making it easier for newbies to find something to eat if they aren't familiar with the names. I always ask the waitstaff for recommendations. They were not very helpful with this but that is okay; the food spoke for itself. We ordered the spicy and sour dumplings, chicken fried rice, cold noodles and the broccoli and beef. All of the food was great. I would not order the cold noodles again but would try the chow mein next time. The broccoli was a bit crunchy and the meat very tender. The chicken fried rice was our favorite. The food lacked flavor. The resounding flavor was chili oil. Don't get me wrong this is way better than having over salted and processed tasting food. The food all tasted fresh and was good. Nothing compared to Frying Fish in Bellevue and I can't believe the same owner opened a Frying Lemon Fish, a Sichuan restaurant in Everett also!! Today I ordered... FeiTeng Swai Fillet--so good and flavorful. My personal favorite dish!! Huge portion enough for 4-5 people. Green beans--super flavorful without being salty Dry cooked chicken, Sichuan Style--first time trying this and was super satisfied!! Omg the flavor on this was on point! Super crispy, hot and full of Sichuan flavor. I did not get to order peavines and eggplant because they were out. Not ordered today but my other favorites are... Eggplant in garlic sauce Pea vines Deep fried fish, Sichuan style Honey walnut prawns. Mapo tofu The owner and staff are super nice and attentive. They checked multiple times if we needed more water and how the food was. Most of the time, when there is a second or third restaurant by one owner, the flavor changes but here, the flavor profile was consistent! This probably will be my new favorite restaurant!! We haven't been able to find good Chinese food anywhere in this area. I think the last time we had good food was when Lotus was open in Mukilteo. Who knows how many years ago that was. Wow! Amazing food and wonderful flavors! We ordered a variety of lamb, beef and chicken dishes plus a spicy dumpling appetizer. The portions were huge and we ate family style with 4 people and had to take leftovers home! This is definitely an authentic selection of menu options and not the typical "American" version of Chinese food. Come hungry and with an open palette ready to try some delicious food! The only negative was the service. It was a little confusing whether we needed to wait to be seated or seat ourselves. Once we were seated, the server handed us a menu and a small tablet with the menu on it but didn't explain anything. We figured out the you are supposed to order on the tablet and it sends the order to the kitchen. As soon as we did, the server came over to verify what we ordered. The process was a little confusing until we figured it out. After we were done eating, I had to get up and ask for our check and "to go" boxes because we sat for a long time with no server coming to check on us. I honestly hate that I have to leave this review, and I wouldn't have, had the issue been addressed. First, let me say, I LOVE this place, and I have told numerous people how amazing it is. I work up the street me and my coworkers (used to) order here weekly. I came in to pick up an order at 4pm on 9/18. Employee was busy, washing tables, picking food up off the floor, packing leftovers and waiting on customers. My food was ready, she just needed to put the lids on and I was good to go, until, I noticed she still had those gloves on. I tried to stop her but she had already touched my food to move it from the sides of the container. I said, "No, no can you please remove your dirty gloves?" She took her gloves off, touched my food, handed it to me, and took the same gloves from her pocket and put them back on. It's a no for me. read more
