Not sure what has changed but today had the fresh rolls and chicken phad Thai again, (been my norm here for years) and it was some of the best Phad Thai I've had locally in quite a while. Went on Sunday evening a quiet serene place with amazing decor and service was very quick. Food they say they have vegetarion dished but when I asked about oyster sauce they said every dish have oyster sauce and they are pre made. So I could tasted much of the dishes and just had panang curry which server mentioned does have oyster sauce. Curry was ok with lots of vegetables . I was around the Edmonds area a couple of weeks was craving for a Thai food. I was looking at yelp for suggestion and stumbled upon this place and decided to give them a try. I was so impressed with them from start to finish. The place is located in a shopping plaza center and has a lot of parking available. The place is small but cozy, featuring a traditional Thai ambiance complemented by modern design elements. The service was outstanding, even though I was picking up food to go, I was impressed by their upbeat, smiling and happy customer service I received. My husband and I were searching for a new Thai restaurant and we found a restaurant close to us to try. The restaurant is decorated beautifully, lots of windows that is nice. No wait for a table. I ordered the Cashew Delight and was very happy I did. It was delicious, the sauce on the vegetables and, (I got chicken option), was so good! My husband got the Crispy Garlic Chicken which he enjoyed very much, (he would have liked a little more garlic). Visiting from out of town for a tournament and stopped here on our way to Canada. This restaurant is beautifully decorated with faux plants everywhere, including the bathroom! The food was delicious, filling, and huge portions. I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken - 10/10. It wasn't spicy at all so I unleashed half a jar of chili paste into it and it was about perfect. Also ordered the Thai tea and I thought it was refreshing and tasty. Staff is super friendly. My favorite here is the spicy noodles. I can choose whatever meat I like. It is made of flat thick noodles and stir fried-pretty match and it's spicy enough that I have to drink cold water right away. It's gotta kick and a good one too. Their prices also have gone up and I'm a little disappointed that their portions have also shrunk. Otherwise, it is still near me and I can call for take out. i can't believe haven't been here since 2013, and when did the name change? i go to 99 Ranch all the time and i never noticed the name change to Savvy Thai. we ended up at Savvy Thai last night for dinner because i saw Kai Jeow was on the menu. i'd forgotten it was Tasty Thai way back when. the interior is updated and it is not as dark as before. the bright well-kept red umbrellas outside-seating is welcoming. on friday at 5:30 4 of then 8 tables were occupied. pick-up orders were steady. the lone server was very busy tending to the already seated guests. the server behind the counter (handing out pick-up orders) finally broke away and took our order. both staff were very polite and the lone server on the floor apologized profusely for not attending to us. kai Jeow jeow puu (thai crab omelet): i love kai jeow. i always order it when i see it on a menu. this one was a bit dry. i would not have known there was crab in it if not for the menu. the sweet chili sauce was tasty. rama noodles: very pretty. not drowned in peanut sauce like Swimming Rama. we applied the peanut sauce as needed. noodles were not stuck together. beer $5.20: no other information! turned out to be ice cold singha served with an ice old glass. i might return to try their boat noodle soup. read more

Super clean restaurant with modern atmosphere. We were seated with regular menus at 11am on a weekday but were not given lunch special menus. I had to go get them. Two of our party ordered regular entrees but I decided on a lunch because it came with Thai tea or coffee. When the server took our orders she asked about spice levels to those who ordered full entrees but not me. Maybe lunch specials are made in advance. My garlic chicken had some flavor but not enough and zero spice. It lacked that Thai zing I am used to. The egg and rice were cooked perfectly. I had to ask about my included tea in order to get it. Big portions for a good price. We got the Crispy Tofu Pad Kee Mao and Cashew Noodles. The tofu had great texture inside but could have been crispier on the outside. They described their Pad Kee Mao as being in a smoky soy sauce, which is why I opted for the Cashew Noodles (I hate anything smoky). And I'm happy I did, because their description was accurate (though it's a subtle smoke). We were brought by a cousin who loves this place and boy are we glad he did. The food was sooooo good, one of the best. We had both the green curry with tofu and the yellow curry with chicken. 2.5 star. We ordered two stir fried dishes for take out. The flavors were very good. They were tasty, but the portions was disappointingly small, especially my dish, the mixed vegetables with tofu. I am a small female and usually split my Thai food into two meals. I finished all the veggies in 5 mins. Couldn't find more than 2 pieces of cabbage. The box was half empty when I first opened it. My husband saw it and asked "where is all the food?" It was very sad. I know it's hard to run a small restaurant nowadays, but this is just not acceptable. Maybe dine in the portion would be better. Very pleasantly surprised with the amount of veggies the dish came with it. Pad Kee Mao itself comes with veggies, but as the "meat" option, I chose mixed veggies. At other Thai places, when I choose this option, it doesn't look like there is extra veggies, but Savvy Thai does! It comes with a variety of veggies which is very much appreciated, from spring beans, to carrots, to cabbage, to tomatoes, colorful peppers, and broccoli. I ordered a 3 in terms of spiciness and it could be spicier. The Thai tea was also pretty nice! It came with the order when I checked into the restaurant on Yelp, and I liked how they honored it. I've came across one too many places that doesn't. I did get a little confused when the outside of the restaurant. The sign says "Tasty Thai Cuisine." Can't believe other people are posting that this place is good. There are so many options for Thai food in Seattle, savvy Thai is not one you should consider Firstly, the portion size on the panang curry is borderline fraud for the price. I actually laughed when I saw how small the portion was, and of course it was packed with tofu. There was barely any curry. The curry that was there was very mediocre To my confusion, the yellow curry came in a larger, what you might consider a normal sized container. It was packed with potatoes that were hard and undercooked. Curry flavor on this was very mediocre as well. The pad see ew actually tasted decent, but same thing with the portion size. There were hardly any noodles. It seemed like a half portion, for a 1.5x portion price. I was gonna check out 99 Ranch in the same shopping area but then I see awesome Thai spot out of the corner of my eye. Parking here is plentiful so you don't have to worry about that. As you walk up to the front door they have plenty of outdoor seating. And as you walk in the ambience and cultural decorations and statues and pictures are beautiful. Very Instagram worthy the wall on your right. No one was in, I beat the dinner rush again. I wanted to celebrate finally becoming Yelp elite today. For starters I got my favorite Thai iced coffee. And chicken satay, can't go wrong with the classics. The sweet vinegar dressing with fresh vegetables and the peanut sauce was delicious. You got 3 pieces of chicken. Then for the main course I got Thai fried rice with beef. The portion was huge! I couldn't finish. And then the chefs special Salmon Panang curry level 3 spicy , not bad you'll taste the heat . But the delicious curry cancels it out. The presentation for this was beautiful with all the fresh vegetables in there. Lots of color. Wanted to wash all this down with a beer so I got a singha beer. Quench's your thirst lol. Not bad not bad but I do I enjoy my Filipinos beers . I'll have to do a side by side comparison. It really was a lot of food but hey it's not everyday you become Yelp elite. Everything was served right away. No complaints here and my waitress was so nice. She was correcting my Thai words and pronunciation. We came here for the first time recently and got takeout. The food was good, but I am not sure we will be back. We are local and love Thai food. We were looking for a new place because our regular spot is on extended vacation. The lady at the front was very rude to me. I was getting takeout that I had already paid for, and she motioned for me to come up to the front. I looked at the bags because I thought that's what she was asking me to do. She said "Excuse me" very rudely and shooed me away. Are you kidding me? The food could be the best food in the world and I'm not going to go back after being treated like that. I did tip them and the food is good, but I am not sure I will be back after that treatment. Very uncalled for and unfriendly. Was out in the Lynwood area with friends to visit nearby Ranch 99 to pick up some supplies. We were craving Thai food and saw Savvy Thai in the same complex area. We ordered to go. The good: Crab Rangoon. Crispy and tasty. Savvy wings. Tasty some pieces a little dry Basil Fried rice. Yummy. Thai iced tea Thai iced coffee The mediocre: Phad Thai with chicken. Crab Fried Rice. Very little crab but tasty The terrible: Pad See Euw with beef. The beef was not good and the noodles were mushy. The AWFUL: Customer service from the lady at the front. She was just so unpleasant and rude. We didn't ask for anything special. She just has the rudest demeanor. She barely wanted to talk to you. When we asked if our order was ready she pointed to the bags on the counter. Then proceeded to scream at us that it wasn't all the bags. Why would you grunt and point to all the bags? There were zero labels on any of the bags or any attached receipts to help us visually decipher. I guess she thought I should have read her mind between her grunts and pointing at the bags on the counter. I wouldn't go again. If you enjoy really rude and lazy customer service and mostly mediocre Thai food, then this would be a match for you. Ps. Only a four-star instead of five since the server didn't understand the importance of extending a warm greeting, asking a quick question before taking the order, like "How's your day going?", checking back to see if the food was OK, etc. Very transactional, which is fine, but not any added relational interaction to generate some emotional rapport. Beware retail establishments: robotic AI will soon replace robotic humans. I'm not unhappy since the food is good and fairly priced--and the environment is nice enough--and I will probably return. read more
