Came here as part of my lobster roll tour for Summer 2020. A friend had recommended it as off the beaten path in a touristy Ogunquit. It is a tiny shack (a nice shack) with a lovely gentleman at the window. I got a clam chowder, and a cold lobster roll with mayo. The clam chowder was solid, and I would certainly get again - a nice thick consistency. Now the lobster roll left me a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the meat was fresh, the bun (I honestly think it was a potato bun) was perfectly toasted, but the mayo left me wanting more. I needed more mayo! It was like they did the lightest paint brushing of mayo on the goods. I took it upon myself to dip my roll in my clam chowder, which was shockingly delicious. The roll was around $18.00. I don't know if I'd go back just for the roll, I would go explore the tiny area more in-depth as it was your classic Maine adorable. But with so many lobster roll spots out there, you have to hit it out of the park for me. read more

This adorable roadside food shack that sits adjacent to the Perkins Cove bridge was drawing in all the attention with their 2 for 1 lobster special today! Sitting at no more than probably 400 sqft, this seafood shack was bumpin, slinging out drinks and food on this hot summer day. Lobster is a must when in Maine and the steamed lobsters from Footbridge came just in time after walking along the Marginal Way. The twin lobster special came with two freshly steamed lobsters and corn. Sitting along side some of the most gorgeous views in Maine this was truly a treat. As much as I wanted to try a lobster roll, I couldn't justify spending $25 to find out if I like lobster. Instead, I played it safe with fish and chips. At $22, it was definitely a more expensive fish and chips than I'm used but it was fresh and tasty. The fish and the fries were both perfectly crispy. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was that the tartar sauce was prepackaged and not homemade. Still good but I guess I just expected a bit more for the price. The restaurant is more of a shack with an order window in the front. There are a few tables scattered around the shopping area but definitely not a lot of seating. What a nice little spot down in Perkins cove. We just happen to wonder up on this great place... that's a lie... I researched it! Just like the other 24 lobster shacks! But that's here nor there. Lobster roll- great toasted bun with the right amount of butter and mayo. The sign says "from my boat to you" the owner caught the lobsters that morning.. that's pretty fresh! Excellent roll over all definitely a must get. Lobster BLT... large strips of bacon, big slices of tomato, lettuce, mayo, on a great toasted slice of bread... what could be better? Add freaking lobster to it! Why not! The blt was amazing. Just wish I had some extra butter to pour on the lobster before eating the sandwich! I was so hyped from all the 5-star reviews,, I was really looking forward to trying this joint. The verdict is a 3, very pricey, small portion, I got a lobster roll and a belly clam plate for $68. Absolutely wonderful. This is Maine af. The first impression was the guy working the cashier at the stand, possibly the owner; super super super patient and friendly. This guy had a line the size of an 18 wheeler outside and was still calm as a monk. They suggested we get the butter and mayo rolls, let me tell you, probably the best lobster roll I've had. They say 5oz they probably gave me 7 ;) these rolls are hardy. I'm 6'5 280 and was satisfied. The fries are epic as well. The ambiance here is windows 11 wallpaper material. Overall you can't make this place any better, it's absolutely perfect. Will 1000% go back next time I'm in the area. read more

Ufff... it really hurts me to post an "average" rating for Footbridge Lobster, but seriously, my experience was just ho-hum at best. It was late in the afternoon in mid-October when I walked up after spending time in Perkins Cove. I was in the mood of a good chowder like I usually get at the Village Market and well... I'll just get a cup since I am here. The cup that I ordered was warmed up in a microwave, contained maybe a thimble full of clams and had a great butter sheen at the top of the surface. I was so disappointed! Granted, it was late in the afternoon, so supply might have been "low" but after having about half, I threw it out and ended up going to Village Market anyway! The guy working there was incredibly nice and chatty, but I overpaid for a cup of hot cream and conversation. There are plenty of other locations in Ogunquit, so you might want to move this place down the list of "to-dos". Oh, the lobster roll prices are insane here... that tip is on the house. read more

We stumbled upon this place after taking a nice stroll around Ogunquit and walked the nice trail pathway along the beach. After seeing the special of the day of twin lobsters (2 one-pound lobsters) and an ear of corn for only $18, I was sold. They take your order pretty quickly and I found out later that you can specify which gender lobster you prefer. This place was pretty popular as I saw several people placing orders in the early evening around 5:30 pm. After waiting 20ish minutes (it can take a while), the lobsters came out hot with a side of butter to dip in with a side of corn. The lobster was pretty freaking tasty with plump and moist meat. The corn was pretty tasty as well. Definitely worth the price. They also have a menu of various items including lobster rolls, fries, onion rings, and drinks. Great place to stop for some lunch. We were early in the season and not much was open , but a local women suggested this to us . The non fish eater said the BLT was really good the bacon Cooke nice and crispy. The order of french fries was huge and they were very good . The haddock sandwich was excellent and a huge portion, enough for 2 lunches. Absolutely beautiful place to sit if you walk over the foot bridge. Hard review to figure out ... My lobster roll was fantastic. And the fried fish was amazing. However, the clam chowder was the worst I've EVER had. And the french fries were also the worst I've ever had. We were leaving the area after a few day long trip and wanted one last seafood meal before heading home. We tossed it up between Barnacle Billy's or this place. Barnacle Billy's serves booze but is literally shockingly overpriced and the ordering/table situation is a nightmare and confusing. So we chose Footbridge takewaway because it would be quicker and the reviews were good. (Also the sign that said 'Fresh seafood from our boat to your plate'). Lobster rolls are a dime a dozen in Maine so of course there also is a sign that says 'Maine's Best Lobster Roll' ... just as every spot has with no justification. The lobster roll was good. Lots of tail meat mixed with claw meat. You can order it with mayo or hot butter. I asked for lightly mayonnaised and it came VERY coated with mayo. Maybe I'd get it plain next time. The bun was a toasted sweetbread hot dog roll. Though there was a lot of meat, most of it spilled out of the bun and onto the tray because it was shallow. The fish and chips are very lightly coated. Almost like a chicken finger ... Not tempura fried like the British kind, and not crispy thick batter. It's kind of dusted with flour and fried, which is nice. The fish is a flaky white fish. The french fries were beyond disgusting, though honemade. One potato was literally rotton ... The fries were black and mealy. All were soggy and oily and had zero seasoning or taste. We threw them away. The clam chowder was the worst I ever had. It was totally bland and tasted of nothing but cornstarch. It was thick and had the consistency of a gravy. I'd call this potato gravy vs. clam chowder. I saw 2 bits of clam in the medium sized cup. The rest was potato ... It was so starchy tasting and way too thick not to be made with lots of cornstarch. We threw it out with the fries after a spoonful. Hard to review ... We will not go back here unless we wanted a quick lobster roll. The prices were okay for lobster rolls ... $18 but didn't come with fries. Only a small cup of Cole slaw. The fish and chips was $17 and fairly chintzy on the portion size. 2.5 small pieces of fish and a bowl of disgusting french fries. The counter staff was grizzled old fishermen who were fun to interact with and very pleasant/polite. I couldn't recommend that you eat here or not. I guess it depends what you order. We wouldn't go back but several reviewers seem to like it and the line at the stand and the small attached sit down restaurant seem to indicate it is popular. read more

In an area where you can find a lobster roll on every corner, these are the best of the best. Lobster rolls are always going to be absurdly expensive, but this is as close as you are going to come to getting your money's worth. I also appreciate that they will mix it in butter OR mayo (or neither), as too many places just give you a couple bites of lobster floating in a sea of mayo and call it a day. As others have mentioned, the only downside is really the lack of parking. If you are going to be in Perkins Cove for the day and paying to park anyway it's fine, but if you are just looking to get in and out for food it may not be worth it. read more
