Went there in early June. I read from Yelp reviews they had a special 2 lobsters for $18.95 so we drove 5 hours from NJ. Got there around 12:30 and ordered 12 lobsters. This place is a take out joint. Order at the window and pick up when ready. Chris steamed them and 15 minutes later we were eating lobsters on the picnic tables by the canal. Drawn butter and lemon are provided. Of course we brought crackers with us. The lobsters were one pounders but sweet and tender. By the time we started on the second lobsters they were a bit cold and tough, but still sweet. The secret is to eat one at a time fresh out of the steamer. This happens when you buy lobsters from places like Footbridge where your lobsters aren't sitting out in the kitchen getting cold waiting to be brought to your table. We hung out browsing the souvenir shops and later had a light dinner. After dinner I ordered 10 more lobsters to bring back to NJ in a cooler. Chris was kind enough to give us ice for the cooler. Had to walk 1.25 miles with a 4 month old to get here. I had the lobster roll hot with butter. It was the first place I found that will do it hot. The roll was crispy and the lobster was fresh. While the latter were almost an afterthought (I could have counted them on my fingers), the main protagonist was definitely up to the task: the buttered, fresh and freshly toasted bread roll was crispy and soft at the same time, something that is quite rare despite its importance in accompanying the soft flavor of the lobster. The lines were pretty long for most of the day so I assumed the product was good. Ordered the lobster roll with chips. Options for the lobster roll were mayo, drawn butter, both, or none. As locals, we have to strategically plan out times, days, tides, etc., in order to get around during high tourist season. We arrived at Perkins Cove early to get parking. I hadn't had breakfast, yet. My husband and I stayed in Ogunquit and also explored Portland, and tried lobster rolls from a few of the popular spots- this was by far our favorite!! The lobster was cooked perfectly- meaty, fresh and tender! The roll was buttery and toasted just right to support the luscious pieces of lobster! We loved that we could choose either hot butter or mayo, we went with butter which was an excellent choice! You can opt for cole slaw or chips with your roll, or purchase other sides. Unfortunately, we were too full to sample their other offerings, but if we get the chance, we will certainly be back! Location location location. And a friendly owner who talked up the freshness of the lobsters, which come from the boats a few steps away in picturesque (and very touristic) Perkins Cove. The place is takeout only with a couple of picnic tables next to the, you guessed it, foot bridge. We had been eating our way through the day in Ogunquit, so we only shared a lobster roll, which was tasty. A perfectly toasted and buttered bun with a hearty portion of fresh lobster is simple perfection. I am not someone who likes a lot of mayonnaise mixed in my lobster rolls, but my only critique here is that it could have used a bit more mayo for added flavor. All in all, 4 stars, but I am rounding up to 4.5 since dining out during this COVID summer time is tough and I appreciate all places that stay open and all workers making it possible to do so. read more

After reviewing Mark Weins recommendations, we chose to go to Footbridge. It was a beautiful day around 430pm. It got crowded around 6pm. There's a deal going on to buy 1 soft shell lobster get 1 free with 2 corn on the cob for $30.95. It's new shell lobster. The meat was tender, juicy, and the salty brine was amazing like Mark mentioned. We also ordered the lobster roll, 5 oz. The lobster is fresh, tender, soft. But it was cold. The long bun was toasted, warm, soft, with light mayo. The bun was great!! However, lobster roll was $33, which was crazy. Tried it once for the hype- that's it! Probably won't go back. We stopped by here, it appeared to have grear reviews and no long wait in line. I ordered the grilled cheese lobster sandwich, and a large 16oz clam chowder. The grilled cheese tasted just like a grilled cheese with some lobster. The sandwich was very basic...if it had a lil lettuce and a slice of tomato it would of been much better...or had warm butter on it, or maybe a special sauce. If if had something special happening it would of set it apart. The clam chowder was very good tho, and definitely not canned. For our lone venture beyond the nearby confines of our recent trip to Kittery, we took a drive up to Ogunquit and grabbed ourselves a couple lobster rolls at Foot Bridge Lobster. It's aptly named, as it is by the drawbridge one can walk over from one side of Perkin's Cove to the other. We showed up a little early for the lunchtime rush, and combined with the fact that it was a bit of a dreary day (it would rain a little by the time we had finished eating), it meant that we had no line to wait in for ordering, and our rolls were done about 5 minutes after getting them in. The only seats are the picnic tables scattered around by the water, so on nicer days, it's a good bet you will end up needing to stand and eat the rolls. That can be a bit challenging, because the rolls here are quite hefty! There is a decent amount of lobster meat, but on top of that, the bun is a bit more towards the potato bread side and is quite large itself. Both the Connecticut-style (warm with butter) and Maine style (cold with mayo) are pretty good, although I do prefer the former myself here. The clam chowder here is also decent, while the chips were what they were - standard original Lays. Overall, though, the buns were very good (albeit the buns being a bit oversized IMO), and for a nice bite by the water, you could definitely do worse. I wouldn't mind coming back for a visit next time I am in town. read more

Drove all the way here from Massachusetts. Facebook kept giving me notifications so we tried it. We got here and it's on a little tiny tight cove. Parking is almost non existent. And if you do get a spot be prepared to walk 10 minutes to your car. The only good thing here is the lobster roll. For $25.00 it should be. I had a fried haddock sandwich with cheese. Very crispy and bland. It wasn't worth the money. The French fries are tiny over fried shoestring French fries. We threw them out. And the big surprise when we got here was TAKE OUT ONLY. Called ahead and braved trying to find a nearby parking spot based on the positive reviews for Footbridge. We got there on a summer weekday during lunch and the wait wasn't very long if you simply ordered in person. I ordered a lobster roll with mayo and butter (combo). They say 5 ounces of lobster meat. The quality of the lobster was superb and the portions were very generous. I had multiple claws, knuckles and lobster tail overflowing in the roll. Every time I tried to take a bite big chucks of fresh lobster we're falling into the paper carton. Also, the roll was very tasty - grilled, sweet and fresh. In addition to the lobster roll I also had the clam chowder which was also very good (4 out of 5). It wasn't very thick and had a lot of potatoes but otherwise the flavor was great. The only negative is that I ordered fries and they forgot to give them to me and they also didn't provide utensils. I also had to ask for the drinks I paid for. I also went back two days later and had a slight issue with the contents so make sure to check your orders. read more

Came here on a whim as it looked pretty good, but wasn't very impressed with the food from here. We got warm buttered lobster rolls that came with chips and a clam strip plate with fries. The clam strips were just ok, neither bad but not exceptionally good either. The French fries it came with were better than the clam! Nice and crispy. The lobster rolls were disappointing. There was plenty of lobster but a lot of it was chewy and it seemed a bit bland which was remedied a bit by the butter(could've used more).
