Tiny, empty sandwich next to a garage opener

Tiny burger sandwich with little meat and veggies. Things have gone downhill there. Won't go back anytime soon.

I went into Five Guys for their wonderful french fries! They are just delicious, hot and crispy with a soft center. They add the perfect amount of salt. So I ordered the fries. It was around 7pm. The gal rang up my order after waiting a minute or two to find out some other workers code so she could ring it up. I was in a hurry and wondered why I had to wait for this. But I said nothing. Then I paid. I kind of hate it how the cashier can see the tip amount beforw they work on your food order. I didn't think french fries beckoned a big tip. So she looked at it. And started working on the counter, doing something else. No one else was in the room. Me and her. No other customers. No other orders seemed to be going. Then she realized that I was standing at the high top table, facing her, watching her. So a few minutes after I ordered, she put the fries into the oil. I watched her do it. Then I watched her go and flip them a few times. I finally got my fries and left. But I did feel like there was a delay starting the fries and it was not a good feeling.

    free peanuts

i walked in and am the only customer. Cashier had me wait a few minutes so a second cashier / cook could take my order helped myself to the peanuts while I waited for my food to be prepared. Ode to Five Guys My beloved Five Guys, oh so sweet The delectable combination of cheese and meat If Jesús had a BBQ, I know he would make something identical They asked me what I wanted on top of my burger. I said, I don't know... give me the standard. The divine orchestration of the toppings in my mouth, opened up my sixth sense to experience new flavors. I guess they call it a sandwich "all the way"- I get it. It is the Platonic burger. If Plato could have envisioned the perfect burger in 400 BC, he would have mentioned five guys in the Republic The saddest truth is that cheeseburgers are ruined forever, now that I know the heights they may reach Other restaurants bow down as I preach.

Way to ruin one of our favorite burger stops for our kids! We are here almost weekly for my boys to grab a cheeseburger and fries. Tonight we took the whole family. I ordered my usual lettuce wrap burger and the lettuce tasted off. I complained to the staff. They said they would tell the manager. The second time they said he was coming to talk to me. The third time they said he is over at another table. Ozzie, the manager decided to take a break, eat and play on his phone watching videos. In the 30 minutes we ate and I waited, the manager never got up, never acknowledged me and the staff laughed it off. So my family ate their food and we left. They just lost a regular customer. Pictures are of the manager who didn't care about his customers only the woman who dropped by to see him after we asked for help!

There use to be burger here...USED TO BE.

Great place to take the kids. Food is good for the price and the loud music drowns out the sound of young ones.

And our server was fantastic. So why, you might ask, only 4 stars in my review. Two reasons: 1). Management has prohibited giving a splash of a beer for someone to sample. Bottom line is that I wanted to order a pint of beer, but I wanted a splash of a couple of beers to try to make my decision. They refused, saying that one must buy a 5oz taster if one wants to taste the beer. I find that policy offensive. In the end I bought a taster to taste the Chuuurch, and then bought an additional pint after. It just seems nickel and dimey, and would be asking to an ice cream place not allowing one to sample their ice creams before buying a cone. I hope management reconsiders this policy. 2. My wife got the Hot Mess Fries and was disappointed not only in the flavor, but also in the misleading advertising. On the menu it specifically said that there was bacon in the fries, but in fact what they put on the fries was either chunks of ham or "Canadian bacon" (which as we all know is a very different thing from "bacon"). If they were or of regular bacon, the kitchen should have told the server this so he could have asked her if she wanted ham as a substitute. And, of they always use ham instead of bacon, them the menu needs to be changed to reflect that.

My kiddos were running a 5K in Los Angeles and with my son having driven up earlier this week, I…read moredidn't want us to have two cars driving back home, so I took the Amtrak for the first time to meet up with my kiddos. Since my train wasn't leaving until later, I decided to find a place to eat dinner and found Chief's Burgers, Brew & Spirits. Chief's was a cool place to chill out and grab a bite. The burger and fries entree, the quality customer service from Nora, and the vibe were memorable. What was irritating was hearing a customer show his Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) by talking out loud about his disdain for our President. You lost old dude, but I won by dining at Chief's. 4.5 stars! Chief's Burgers is located in Solana Beach specifically on Lomas Santa Fe Drive. It's conveniently a short walk across from the Amtrak train station and within the Solana Beach Plaza strip mall. The plaza has Solana Frosty and Solana Beach Fish House. There is plenty of parking. As you step inside Chief's, you'll quickly determine that it's a sports bar with plenty of televisions, sports memorabilia, basketballs hanging from the ceiling, and a variety of modes of travel also hanging as decor. It's a spacious restaurant with bar top seating, low table top, high table top, picnic benches, and outdoor seating. There are a lot of Native American statues, framed pics, and depictions throughout the restaurant. There's a whole section decorated for Denver Broncos fans. I liked seeing tributes to our local sports teams. The customer service from Nora was noteworthy and I appreciated her friendly demeanor. I asked Nora why the restaurant was named Chief's and why there was an homage to the Broncos. She kindly explained that the owners were Native American and that they came from Colorado. Prior to embarking on the train, I initially thought I'd eat dinner with my kids once I got into Los Angeles, but since my train wasn't leaving until 5:40pm and wouldn't arrive at Union Station until about 8pm, I decided to find a restaurant to eat dinner. I found Chief's really quick since it was across from the station and walked over to dine in. Chief's serves a diverse menu besides burgers, which includes sandwiches, sides, Mexican food, appetizers, wings, salads, sliders, soup and chili, rice bowls, and dessert. I honestly wasn't sure what I was in the mood for, but I ordered their Jalapeño Jack burger, which comes with a 1/2 lb all natural angus beef thick patty, fresh jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. All the burgers are served with french fries, salad, or coleslaw. Instead of fries, pay an additional $3 to substitute onion rings, sweet potato fries, frings, or potato salad. Unless I didn't hear Nora, I wasn't asked how I wanted my burger cooked. My burger came out well done, I liked that it was substantial, the toasted bun was a good vessel, the toppings were fresh, and I thought that was a delicious burger. I recommend that they season the patty a little more. I thought the fries stood out because they were crispy, golden brown, seasoned perfectly, and when dipped in mayo or ranch, they complemented the burger. For my first visit to Chief's, I really enjoyed my burger and fries. Next time I visit Chief's, I want to try their Philly Cheesesteak. Hanging out at Chief's before my first train ride made for a good start to my trip, but that old dude talking smack about our President made me wish the Trump Train made a stop, so it would drown out his crying.

The Great: Great food and drink selection The Good: easy parking The Bad: Service is slow The Ugly: The water... weird I know. I can handle most water, but their water was not good. We have come here before a concert a couple of times now, so we come at night. The place has always been busy, but we've always been able to find a place to sit. The food is pretty good and the drinks fine. You just have to get there super early if you have somewhere to be, because they are super slow in service. We did agree to not come back again. It's too stressful to wonder if you're going to have to cancel your order or eat your burger while walking to the show. For reference we go to the restaurant with like an hour and half to kill. We did get and finish our food in time, but the wait was long enough to make us worry.
