Tucked pretty close to Chick-fil-A on the big Camino Real Ave. it's a pretty good burger. I got mine just cheese and a little mayo because I looked down and saw the tomatoes and they looked not red but a little off red not my favorite burger was cooked nice. The highlight of my meal was the fries they were cooked perfectly. Really nice staff plus free peanuts pretty good Parking good place to go and get a burger. I'd recommend it. read more

A kid working there skimmed my card. I was ready to tap it and he grabbed it out of my hand. The screen was blank so I thought the system was down. The following Monday he attempted to spend $500 on me. Reached out to management, filed a police report, and attempted to reach corporate 2 times. Because I I used a Venmo ATM card, Venmo only returned $49.00. I loved their grilled cheese sandwich, however, the management sucks! Still down $220. Venmo is awful-they use AI to analyze the theft. Regional manager Christian Cortez ghosted me, corporate doesn't return calls. Guess there's a reason you're closing stores-NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Disappointing! My first time in this location. The burgers were pretty good, the fries were terrible. They were so salty we couldn't eat them. I asked if they could remake them with "light salt". They were nice and remade them and guess what, exactly the same. So salty, I took the first large batch of fries and the second large batch of fries and threw them in the trash. I love 5 Guys(the restaurant). It is expensive, but noticed they had a deal for a burger,fries, and drink for $12. Even though it is pricey I do like to treat myself every now and then. The burgers are cooked well done which I love. The Cajun fries pack a delicious punch, and I enjoy being able to snack on peanuts while I wait for my order. I went on a Saturday around 7 and it was empty, "fresh & so clean, clean". I was so hungry and the food was so good that I forgot to take a photo. Whoops! read more

I was recently picking up here and it was a rough sight. Three employees were just trying to stay above water; two seemed new and very slow as a result. As people walked in, one employee would just shout out that it would be 10 to 15 minutes before an order would even start. One poor customer walked up to the register and waited 15 minutes before someone even went up to take his order. Meanwhile, delivery drivers are streaming in, getting told the bad news, and either unassigning themselves from the order or just pacing around the restaurant. It wasn't even as busy/crowded as you'd think it would be given the severe backlog. Clearly there were severe staffing and training issues at play here for the night to be so problematic. Whoever is running the show here dropped the ball big time. This is not a well-run location. read more

The flavor of the burger itself here really wasn't up to the quality standard you can expect from Five Guys. I'm not sure what's happened with this chain but it just was noticeably bad for me. I went into Five Guys for their wonderful french fries! They are just delicious, hot and crispy with a soft center. They add the perfect amount of salt. So I ordered the fries. It was around 7pm. The gal rang up my order after waiting a minute or two to find out some other workers code so she could ring it up. I was in a hurry and wondered why I had to wait for this. But I said nothing. Then I paid. I kind of hate it how the cashier can see the tip amount beforw they work on your food order. I didn't think french fries beckoned a big tip. So she looked at it. And started working on the counter, doing something else. No one else was in the room. Me and her. No other customers. No other orders seemed to be going. Then she realized that I was standing at the high top table, facing her, watching her. So a few minutes after I ordered, she put the fries into the oil. I watched her do it. Then I watched her go and flip them a few times. I finally got my fries and left. But I did feel like there was a delay starting the fries and it was not a good feeling. read more

On a normal Five Guys run one can count on a clean restaurant. Not today. There are only 5 customers plus me sitting inside and the walk-in traffic is minimal. It's a mess in here and the faint scent of urine lingers around the dirty and sticky drink machines. The food was good, no problem there but you don't want to eat in an unclean space. Why? Simply because I should not have too having ordered only 3 items: bacon cheeseburger, drink and a regular fry with a $26 price tag! read more

I ordered a "Little Cheeseburger", French Fries, and small fountain beverage and it came out to over $19 and then the register asked for a tip! The restaurant was clean and food was fresh tasting. At this particular one, I've been to many times, and although the staff is almost never the same, the burgers and fries have always hit the spot. Sometimes the a/c is so cold that I have to go outside to eat and the music is too loud, but it's that way too at the other locations most of the time as well. My husband and I decided to give a Five Guys another shot today. I had it in the past and did not really like it. Since it was close to us, we thought to pop in and try again. SERVICE - The cashier was unwelcoming and did not really care to be there. He looked miserable and was very unenthusiastic when he was helping us. FOOD Cheeseburger w Bacon (add bbq sauce) - The burger was pretty standard. The lettuce was very sad looking as it was soggy and limp. The bacon was over cooked and hard. The bun and the meat were soft though and the cheese was nicely gooey. The bbq sauce gave it a slight dimension in flavor but nothing spectacular. Cheeseburger w Bacon - Same as above but my husband got mayo instead of bbq sauce. He agreed it was just a standard burger. Fries - Holy salt. They were drowning in salt as the container itself was covered too. I liked that it was crispy but way too salty for our liking. Fairly expensive for what it was. You could get a better quality burger somewhere else at an equal or lesser value. Can't say we would want to come back here. At least we gave it another shot. read more

Way to ruin one of our favorite burger stops for our kids! We are here almost weekly for my boys to grab a cheeseburger and fries. Tonight we took the whole family. I ordered my usual lettuce wrap burger and the lettuce tasted off. I complained to the staff. They said they would tell the manager. The second time they said he was coming to talk to me. The third time they said he is over at another table. Ozzie, the manager decided to take a break, eat and play on his phone watching videos. In the 30 minutes we ate and I waited, the manager never got up, never acknowledged me and the staff laughed it off. So my family ate their food and we left. They just lost a regular customer. The service is great I need to bring my burger to go and a very nice employee gave me saran wrap and a paper bag to put my burger in. I've been on the lookout for a killer hot dog since I visited New York 20 years ago. Turns out Five Guys makes perhaps the best dogs I ever had. Not sure if they're grilled or pan fried, but they're crispy... and if you get the bacon dog it's SUPER crispy. Even the bun is good'All around great hot dog, no need to look any further. read more

I always get slammed for reviewing fast food restaurants. Lol. I just can't help myself. Five Guys has a dope burger! Mostly because you can add everything + the kitchen sink. But... my Five Guys in Encinitas, has that insane drink machine where you can be a mad scientist barista re-living your childhood where you go to the gas station and add every flavor to your cup. We use to call it a suicide! Lol. Apart from that, a much more personal reason is the ability to crack peanut shell, throw them on the floor or at each other and have a fun conversation with my kids waiting on our food. Conflicted on this review, the hamburger was delicious and the Cajun fries were soooo good. The confliction is the price point, I find it hard to spend close to $20 for lunch at a fast food restaurant. It's even harder, when I know a really good hamburger place close by that serves a whole meal for $7. Was the food delicious, yes, but was it double the price good?, no I'm afraid not. If you went to a sit-down restaurant and spent $20 for your burger, you'd expect that price point, maybe. Not sure how many families would be okay spending $100 dollars for burgers and fries, when they could go get burgers somewhere else for much less. Excellent food and shakes. You better be willing to pay for it though. This is one of the most expensive fast food chains I have even been to. I ordered two burgers and one small order of fries and it was almost $30! That being said, they were huge and packed full of lots of delicious ingredients. Cashier seemed high or just sucked that much. Didn't explain anything about the menu. How you build your own burger. First part of a good experience is making sure a customer orders everything the way they would want it. Didn't even explain how some are double burgers and some aren't, thought the jr ones were for kids. It's the cashier's job to guide the customers through the menu and so on. It was pretty obvious we were new customers. Had 3 employees working for 3 tables that came in staggered and they still took forever. Main thing that upset me is I was tired from a graveyard shift and asked for jalapeño poppers... twice on my burger but the menu actually said jalapeño peppers. He should of corrected me right there when ordering instead of just saying 'okay' when placing the order. This left me more disappointed in my burger and when I went inside and realized I read the menu wrong there still wasn't a solution or apology offered. read more

Crazy expensive prices!!!! Took my son for lunch here and was blown away by how high the prices are. A cheeseburger is $13! Regular sized fries is $7. And a small fountain drink is almost $4. Our order was 2 cheeseburgers, 1 regular French fry and 2 small sodas. The total came to $42!!!!! No wonder the restaurant was empty. The food was good but they do take a very long time to make it. I'm a bit torn on this place. Lot's of hype about it so I went in with the fam to check them out. Overall, I like the options and fresh idea. It's definitely not your basic burger joint. The amount of fries that comes with a regular order is pretty huge. Taste of the fries was ok, but again they offer some options with cajun or regular. Also can throw on some malt vinegar if you wish. Not a big fan of the amount of grease that comes with the burger. By the time I sat and started eating, the bun was pretty wet and mushy.
