Shoestring fries

"Beachside Burger and Vibes" Was feeling in the mood for a burger and found this gem just off the I5. Nestled along the coast of San Diego, this burger spot feels like a local favorite. No bells or whistles, Hamburger Hut makes a solid smash burger with modest, but quality sides. The food came out fast and hot, the server hooked me up with all the sauces, and just sitting in the chill backyard area of the restaurant was a great experience. Come here if you want a good burger with high quality ingredients in a relaxed spot by the ocean. Best bite: Double smash burger everything on it.

I mean, how cute?!

Last Sunday we headed up to Lou's records to do some Christmas shopping. Afterwards we realized we missed lunch and were starving. Decided to pop into Hamburger Hut and were pleasantly surprised by the festive holiday decor. We ordered at the window outside and found a small table. The menu is small so it didn't take long to decide. The burgers arrived and were perfect. Nice Lacey crispy edges on buttered Hawaiian buns. Yum. The fries were ok. But the burger was so good! There is a small perking lot, but street parking is available too.

DELICIOUS!! This was our first time here, and it was SO GOOD!! We made it in time for happy hour, with great deals on drinks. My husband had a hazy ipa, I had a glass of Prosecco. The staff was super nice and Santa was in the backyard! I had a single burger (insane, omg) and Tyler had a double burger. They were so tasty and fresh, on Hawaiian rolls. We also shared an order of fries. Loved the vibes here. Will absolutely be back. The patio is dog friendly, and we got our dog a puppy patty. He loved it!!

A very cool and cute hamburger stop with a lot of charm. I enjoyed the look and feel of the outside and interior. Burgers for the family and even a bar for the adults! You order via the outside window and you find a spot inside. They even have an extended back patio area so there's a lot of space. The service was fairly quick and we got our order within 10 minutes. The Double Hut was a really good classic cheesburger. The bun was nice and fluffy as well. My favorite part, was the charred/crisped texture of the smashed patties. Flavor-wise, it's just a classic solid burger all-round. They don't get too fancy with any sauces or extras. I added grilled onions to mine which was nice too.

Super good no frills burger shack with great drinks and a full bar. Order quick and easy at the front counter. We went at happy hour and got 2 for 1 drinks. The ambiance is very cool/funky and there's a large outdoor patio to hang out in. Unique and worth the stop for a great burger.

A new sneaky favorite spot - with best of both worlds with casual burger fare, delicious cocktails, and good vibes! Live music and a fast service makes it a fun spot for a group dinner. Burgers were delicious, loved that they had gluten free buns and the sauces were tasty.

Jabba fries

Update. I don't remember which cocktail this was but it was great, might have been a space monkey? But the highlight was the "Jabba Fries". Skip the "animal style" an go for these instead. Burger patty, sauce, pickles, peppers. It's a whole days worth of calories, for me (especially if I add a mystery beverage!) and so worth it.

A local friend of mine said he was friends with the owners and advised I check it out on my drive around SoCal. Excellent smash burger stop on my way up the PCH to eat a quick dinner before continuing on to LA. I love the set up as being literally a hut on the side of the road. Ordering was simple quick and easy, and the food came out super fast. It was relaxing and chill inside with friendly staff. I had a hard kombucha to go along with it. Great way to finish up my trip.

This was my first time trying this place and I was pleasantly surprised! As I drove by, I thought it was super tiny with limited seating but once I walked in I was shocked at how spacious the place is. There's both inside and outside seating and it's pet and kid friendly. There's a cute little fire pit and little area of games to keep the kids occupied. Parking was easy to find in the lot and along the Main Street. Service was very quick and all the servers were welcoming and friendly. It got super crowded during lunch time. The food was delicious! I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. Food review: Jabba fries: (5/5) Soo yummy! It's similar to in n out animal fries but flavors are a tad different. The serving is huge and filling. Definitely worth trying if you're with a group! Single hut burger: (4.5/5) I was craving a delicious juicy simple hamburger and this did not disappoint. Ask for grilled onions if you're into it, otherwise they'll come regular shmegular in the burger. Yacht club: (4/5) This cocktail was very refreshing! Not super strong and the flavors blended well together. Spicy cucumber margarita: (4/5) This was super refreshing! We got tajin on the rim. The bartender made the drinks perfectly. We actually ended up ordering 2!

A cute family-friendly spot in Leucadia with a simple menu including great burgers and tasty cocktails. The burgers and grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, and jabba fries are all fantastic! I love the option to get a good gluten free bun for the burgers. The staff is always so friendly, quick, and attentive. We love coming here for a casual dinner or their happy hour deal (buy one get one free on some specialty drinks from 2:30-4:30pm). There can be a bit of a wait sometimes as it's quite a popular spot, but it's worth the wait. It's also generally quite popular with families, as we often find there are kids running all over in the outdoor seating area particularly if you stop in for an earlier dinner, so something to keep in mind.

My favorite smash burger spot in North County! We came on a Tuesday after work and it was crowded. It's family friendly so there were a lot of kids running around. We ordered 3 burgers and fries and waited for 40 min. It felt like they were busy that evening but the wait was so worth it for their burgers. What makes their smash burger stand out is their Hawaiian bun. It's so fluffy and toasted to perfection.

Single Hut Burger

Decided to grab a burger during a bike ride and was happy to see a bike rack right outside. $10 for a single hut is pretty good these days and it comes with a variety of toppings. I love Hawaiian buns so that put this burger towards the top of my list! I did receive a really big end piece of lettuce on the burger that was a little too big. I did not mind, I love lettuce on burgers, but someone else may not be as excited about the size of it. The fries were good as well! It's a cute spot with friendly service and definitely better than other burgers I've had in San Diego lately.

Great atmosphere and we love everything about the place. Bring back the dill pickles, sweet pickles on a burger just isn't the same

Ask the Community - Hamburger Hut

Does Hamburger Hut have a happy hour?

Every day 2:30-4:30 discounted draft beers and cocktails.

I was assuming because you're a burger place that just has burgers you'd have like an amazing house made veggie burger but I don't see that there is one. Am I missing it?

They have added the impossible patty to sub in for a beef patty! I'll post the updated menu :)

Does your restaurant accommodation for gluten-free (allergy)? Also do you have options for vegetarian?

There are gluten free/vegan buns as well as impossible patty's available for substitution. The buns are toasted in the same manner as the regular ones though, so for extreme celiac sensitivities, still a no go.

Food had…read moregreat flavors, our waitress was really good at walking us through everything and making sure we were ordering enough for the table but not going overboard. We love that they use local foods like Prager brothers bread and Little Fox ice cream! We had a fun time celebrating our friend's birthday there and would definitely recommend this place as a cute date spot too. On the flip side, I will say for every dish we got, even though we enjoyed them, there was always one spice that would overpower the balance of the dish. The flat bread with burrata had too much salt in the spice mix on the flatbread. The beef tartar was good but slightly strong with the mustard flavor on the beef. The crispy chicken was also a little too salty. The Muhammara dip though, no notes. It was so good! This could all be personal preference, and we did enjoy everything! Those were just small things I noted about the food. Pricing for everything was reasonable and we left feeling full, which is super important

As I took my first bite of the Winter Roasted Vegetable Salad, I immediately texted my best friend…read morein Australia & said "Currently eating the best salad of my life. Details to come." I don't know how to explain it- there is a seasoning in this salad with the mix of veggies that make me want to go full-on vegetarian. We also got the flatbread which was our second favorite dish- the nice touch of burrata and the various nuts and spices were delicate and divine. The crispy chicken and meatballs were good- but nothing to separate their dishes from other places with similar palate. The ambience and character is what makes this cute hideout a gem. We sat on the patio with a disco ball hanging from a tree, candle lighting, and their famous aqua painted door. Inside there is a DJ & dramatic jade green curtains hanging over tables, inviting you to camaraderie amongst friends over wine and good grub. I will literally go there back for this seasonal salad. I am now blue-that everytime I eat any other salad, it will all sadly pale in comparison to my first bites here. We came for an early Valentine's Day Dinner, but we left with an indention for salad delicacy that is simply irreplaceable.
