The service here kind of sucks. They're blasting the music SO loud & between that & masks (still wearing after lifted mandates) you cannot hear one another & they get orders wrong. Food takes a very long time to make, like 20 mins to get out expensive order, next time I'm going to in n out- wayyyy better & cheaper & faster & more pleasant imo. read more

Took them twenty minutes to make one milkshake. And they only did it AFTER I reminded them, because they had completely forgotten me. Also, despite me telling them that I had been waiting twenty minutes, they didn't so much as apologize. I work food service myself, so I tend to be more forgiving about this sort of thing, but this was ridiculous. If I had made a mistake like that, I would absolutely try to make it right with the customer. Guess that's just not a priority with these guys. read more

My husband said this burger (Cheeseburger "all the way" with fries) gave him a spiritual experience. While I didn't see a burning bush or get a revelation, I thought it was a pretty damn good burger. The perfect blend of creamy cheese, tangy mustard and pickle, umami mushrooms, savory grilled onions, and sweet ketchup with a nice lettuce crunch. Double patties makes it so filling and really a full on burger. The fries are also thick and actually taste like potatoes - like steak fries. It's expensive but it's 100x better than in n out.. do yourself a favor and go. read more

Burgers and fries are amazing. I don't eat fast food often but when I do I come here because the food is great and Manager Alfonso Ozzie and the rest of the staff are super friendly!! They are genuinely friendly which sets them apart from other fast food places. Alfonso always remembers me even if I haven't been in for a while. I'm blown away by that!! And he treats me like family! He goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I'm fully satisfied on every visit. And he hires a great staff that are super friendly and accommodating. Apparently the great debate here on the West Coast is the battle between hamburgers from Five Guys and In-and-Out. Personally, I don't think you can really compare the two. For those from southern California, the question should be more along the lines of Five Guys versus Angelos. But I digress, let me start with my major gripes. This place is fucking expensive. There's another burger joint that opened up a few miles down the road called The Counter; when you pay $8-$12 for a burger there, you know where your money went (you probably won't agree with it, but you know where the cash goes). Here, the money that would normally buy an oversized monster at Carl's Jr. / Hardee's gets you something roughly have the size. Oh, it tastes good enough, and the range of toppings is impressive and delicious, but the cost just leaves a bitter aftertaste. And this is coming from someone who loves spending $75+ on sushi every now and then. After coming here a second time, I realized that the full-feeling people walk away with isn't from the main fare, but from the sheer volume of fries they give you. Seriously, when you walk in, they advertise which farm their potatoes where freshly shipped in from and they have bag upon bag upon bag upon bag upon, holy fuck, another 20 bags of potatoes waiting to be tossed into the slicer and fried stacked up beside the counter. When you eat that much starch, even Israel Kamakawiwo'ole would be kinda full (rest in peace, brother)... On the plus side, despite all of that shit above, the place still tastes great. I'd still recommend going to In-and-Out over Five Guys for just a burger. And I definitely recommend Angelo's over this place, slightly for the burgers, but more so for their fries, onion rings, and zucchini. But if you're around and want to see what the hype is about, it's not a horrendous place to plop down $10 for one person to find out... read more

What's my one guilty pleasure each week? Why enjoying some warm, spicy, and salty loving between my legs as I drive home from the beach after surfing! I'm talking french fries of course (what else would you think?)! Five Guys Cajun Fries rock, and they give you lots of them! You can walk or call in your order but they always make sure to cook your fries fresh in person, which means you have to wait a little longer for the goodness but it's worth it! I like to visit different places for my once/twice a week salty pleasure release and Five Guys remains one of my regulars! Maybe what make Five Guys fries so good is that they cook them in yummy peanut oil! A regular order of them literally means you score a 1/2 a paper bag's worth, not the tiny little sleeves you get in other fast food places. As for the burgers, they're good. Not especially big but more than sufficiently tasty. You can also choose as many free toppings as you want. Steak sauce, grilled mushroom, onions, etc, you can really load your burger up but, if you choose too many wet ingredients, you'll end up with a soggy mess. I usually get the sandwiches since I don't eat very much red meat. The veggie sandwich is the burger bun with lettuce, tomatoes, and whatever other toppings you might like. The grilled cheese is the burger bun with cheese and whatever other toppings you want. Five Guys doesn't have veggie burger patties, but, oh well, I usually come again and again for the fries any way. As other reviewers have said, the drink machine is hella cool. You can mix and match flavors of drinks and even come up with some creative combos. And the free bulk peanuts are tasty too, that is, until a little kid walks up, bypasses using the scoop provided, grabs a handful with his/her bare hands, drops some on the floor, picks them up, and puts them back into the bin for other to eat (seen on several visits), gah!!! I've eaten at the one in San Marcos, so tonight my wife and I tried this one. No wait to order at 8pm. The very-young cashier didn't know if there was an order code for everything-everything - everything in the black column AND everything in the red column. I like peanuts, but the reason you throw peanuts on the floor is to polish the wood floors, which this place doesn't have, so it's kind of a mess, next time I'll just take two peanut bowls. There was a long wait for our order - I'd guess fifteen minutes. Took it home, had to stop at Jack's on the way home because Five Guys doesn't have shakes. Fries were okay, burgers were okay. Maybe it's just me, but the burgers here don't seem at all like In N Out. Maybe it's the grilled mushrooms? The bun? The fact that it's served in aluminum rather than paper? I could piss off a lot of people by saying this, but I think it's true. The burgers at Five Guys are better than In n Out. Now, before you punch your monitor, hear me out. The BURGERS are better. I mean the idea of two thin patties = 1 burger. They're perfectly cooked, easy to eat, flavorful as hell and you get to choose exactly what's on your sammich. I think the meat at Five Guys is juuust a bit better than In n out. The one thing that could make Five Guys better than In n Out? The sauce. That, to me is the one thing that's missing off the Five Guys burgers. They need a secret sauce. The fries are good. They taste delicious, have the perfect amount of salt on them and crunch just right. They're locally sourced and it shows. I think it's nice to buy from your neighbors instead of Potato Co. This is a yummy burger. They have a George Jetson style soda fountain machine too! You can snack on peanuts while you wait, and the staff has been very courteous every time we've gone in. Born and Raised here in Southern California, In N Out has been around for as long as I can remember, but as I got older I became a foodie. My tastes matured, my palate more refined. Traveling across the county really gives you a sense of hometown pride in your culture and food. I liked burgers here and there and INO will always hold a special place in my heart, but when you've had places like Shake Shack, Hodad's, Crazee Burger, The Counter and Five Guys your loyalties wane. It's nothing personal, but each 1 of those places does something better than the rest or has something to offer that the others just don't measure up to. Without getting into too much detail on the comparisons let's get into the specifics. Menu is fairly easy, large, bright. Some are turned off by the potato bags, and peanuts and they really do take up a lot of space, but ordering is easy and paying is easy. The place is small, I think they would have done better with a stand alone. I've come to love the openness of INO and not being able to see into the back is strange as I still consider this fast food without the drive through. I found the bathrooms a little lacking, but the soda fountains excellent. All kinds of modern and has hard to find things. Pibb Zero is the 1 thing I've never found anywhere else. Tip: the fries should be shared by 2-3 people, it's a lot, they are meaty and I prefer Cajun(although light on the Cajun). And when you eat tear into the bag, it's meant to be used like a plate. The order comes timely and I go with everything, a side of BBQ regular hamburger (lil one's are single patty, regular is 2). Mushrooms and onions are great, lettuce could be larger (I'm not a fan of the shredded kind), 3 tomatoes and like 5 pickles. That's a lot, condiments and toppings are free. This is where I feel they are very unique. The meat doesn't feel quite as formed, mashed, regardless of freshness. They felt more handmade. I like how they don't all look the same. Come here being a fan of burgers, not to compare to INO as the similarities are there, but comparatively there are many more differences. read more

Mediocre cheeseburger. It was pretty oily in general. Fries were over-salted and I had to wipe off the salt with a napkin before consuming them. The major turnoff was how pricy it was compared to its competitors (In N Out). A double cheeseburger alone was over $7! They claim free toppings and sauces but in reality they factored that into the base price so you would be a sucker if you didn't want all the toppings. And the fries were $2.79? Way overpriced. It's funny how they flash a lot of "awards" that were dated a long time ago. Like voted the best burger which was awarded in 2008. What happened after? Surprisingly their restrooms were pretty clean and had a pleasant smell. The dining area was very messy and full of peanut shells all over the floor. I have been to five guys before but it was during its grand opening phase. I don't remember the prices back then, but they seem really expensive now. The little burger was good, the meat was juicy and I really enjoyed the topping I chose on it. I ordered the hot dog just to see try it out and see what it looked and tasted like, it was nothing fancy. I'd rather had gone to Costco and spent $1.50 instead. The best part of the whole meal was the Cajun fries. I think that would be the main reason I come back to Five Guys is because of their fries. I really should have updated this review a long time ago. Five guys would probably have to be my favorite burger chain. I love the fact you can add ingredients and really customize ur burger. Ma great tip is when you ask for EXTRA any topping... There is no extra charge ... That counts for BACON too... So feel free to ask for extra bacon !!! The pop vending machine is a 5-Star find... Basically you can get PIBB ZERO here... Might seem nominal to many, but Pibb ZERO is unavailable on the west coast at least down here in SD! I've had some orders messed up before here... But I gotta chalk it up to probably just hey it's making burgers... I forget stuff all the time and I think maybe I was a little harsh on the boys cooking them last time I left my review 7 months ago. Not a big fan of the fries... Very filling but they do taste good haha just too filling for me!! Music is a little louder than normal at a joint - kind of an old school burger joint with pop music playing... I think Alanis Moresette is on now... Kind of Ironic... Don't you think? It's more of a sloppy burger so if you don't like ur buns soggy eat it HERE... I live .9 miles away and the bun will be soggy by the time I get home, especially if you get mushrooms (70% chance it will be soggy IN THE SHOP w mushrooms) Probably my favorite place to go for burgers but you will find my 5 star ratings for burgers on non-franchise shops... My first visit to Five Guys was today. They explained the menu and order process to me without hesitation when I said I'd never been in before. They also explained the sizes of their beef patties and fries so I knew what size to order. Once I paid, I was offered water while I waited, which was nice. I enjoyed to free peanuts available to everyone & noticed how clean and well kept the location was. When I order food and the place is well kept and very clean, it makes me feel comfortable with the quality of my food and the preparation. This will not be my last visit! This used to be my Place for a quick burger. Not so much of a fan now. Seems like they lost their mojo??? Ordered a little bacon cheese all the way. Came out with no cheese, and the tomato's were shit! Onions and mushrooms were undercooked. The whole experience fell apart for me. 5 stars for customer service! -They are so nice and in a good mood especially one guy named MATEO (I know bcus I looked at my receipt) he has the nicest personality. 5 stars for burgers too they are just as good as home made but without the hassle. I have been here 4 times in a row for 4 days. I know...crazy! but don't blame me, I love the taste of something home made and these burgers taste just like it so I can eat them often. I don't eat Mc Donalds, Jack in the Box, Burger King, Wendy's or any of those fast food places bcus I hate the taste of fake microwaved meat also I absolutely dislike In & Out! Why? Well, reason being is every time I'd get a burger at In and Out the meat would have a nasty distinctive smell of (fart or something bad) in it. If you don't believe me try smelling your meat patty at first bite, the rest is history! What a great burger! Its so simple, beef and cheese with some condiments. But I think wrapping it in the tin foil really ups the burger's game. Helps steam the bun, melting all the cheese and extras together. So good! And just a touch a ketchup adds the perfect amount of sweetness. My husband had the burger without the bun and just as good as a lettuce wrap. I also love how they have the drink machine that allows you to customize your flavors. I love a vanilla coke and you cant really find that anywhere. Staff is always nice and on top of things. Place is always clean and I love how the show where the ingredients come from. Definitely a great place for a burger! read more

I stopped by this Five Guys tonight and began to place my usual order which included a cheeseburger without the bun toasted as my daughter does not like it toasted. I've ordered her burger this way for the last several years and even at this specific location. I was told today that I could not have a burger without the bun being toasted. I was told it was "company policy" that they had to toast the bun to finish the cooking process which might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I've ordered this exact order multiple times at this location and never had a problem before. It takes very little effort to not place the bun on the grill. Since they don't want my business I took it to Burger Lounge. We won't be returning to this location again. read more

Besides the food being great. This 5 guys has the best customer service. Employees are so friendly and helpful. Also I noticed the minute I walked in the restaurant was spotless clean.
