Biscuits & Turkey Sausage Gravy With Eggs
Shannon G.

I have never had a bad or a mediocre breakfast from First Watch. Always, always have had the most delicious breakfast. I am not a coffee drinker but every so often I do get a coffee and it is so darn good absolutely enjoyed it. My server Joshua, was so kind. He poured my coffee for me, and left the carafe of coffee for me to refill my own. He let me look over the menu for a few minutes and then came back. I gave him my order. Biscuits and eggs. I also added a side of bacon. Only a few minutes went by and my food was sitting in front of me, piping hot. I can't even describe how delicious everything was. The biscuits, who ever makes these is a genius. How are they so fluffy inside with just a very slight crunch on the outside then they're smothered in turkey sausage gravy. It's epic. Mind blowing. Bacon, that's cooked to perfection. There are people who like crispy bacon, and then there are people who like it done right. And First Watch does it right. It's crispy, but not crunchy crispy. Still a little soft and chewy. Eggs, I asked for fried over medium, and that's exactly how they came out. Soft, a little runny, but not too runny. Perfect. I eat eggs daily and they were cooked just like I cook them at home. The hash brown potatoes were great too. Firm and crisp on the outside but firm/soft inside. They didn't fall apart when I stuck my fork in them. They still held together nicely. Was pretty quiet this morning. The day after Christmas and it was pretty early still when I got there. I was trying to figure out how to do a Google review. And Joshua was so kind to help me. I think because I've done one before a long time ago, I can't redo a review unless I delete my old one and write a new one. I'm more of a Yelper reviewer. So here I am, giving another 5 star review update. Joshua was a delight. Thank you for helping me and giving such great service.

1/2 - From traditional egg platters to omelets and healthy menu choices, First Watch is a sure bet for breakfast in Austin. The food is consistently fresh and delicious -- an easy five stars for flavor and quality. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and speedy with pouring coffee when sitting down. Where it falls a bit short is in attention to detail where most true diners shine. Small things like empty sugar packets, used plastic creamers, and a bit of trash left around the plate kept it from being a perfect five-star experience. With a little more focus on those finishing touches, it would easily be one of the best restaurant-diner in town.

Strawberry tres leches french toast
Darian C.

My friend and I split the chicken pesto quinoa bowl and the strawberry tres leches french toast. I was pleasantly supprised at how much I enjoyed the chicken pesto bowl and I thought it was seasoned well. I wish the strawberry tres leches french toast was a bit creamier and less airy though. There was plenty of seating inside and it wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately.

Food is always delicious! Have been here 3 times now and the servers are extremely kind and accommodating. Lost my phone in the restroom and the waiter that went in after me saved my phone at the front desk! Place can seem a bit crowded sometimes but have always gf a good experience

the Star rating for this visit,It's strictly related to the shrimp and grits plate. The service was quick, fast and great. But the food was not Okay, here's my rating of the new dish that first watch put out, which would be the shrimp and grits plate. being a Southerner, shrimps and grits is something That's you indulge in every so often not every day, not every week, sometimes not every month. But when you do indulge in shrimp and grits, you want it to be immaculate, you want it to be flavorful, you want it to be busting with season. Well, first watch this will be the first time that I will rate a dish from you all with two thumbs down. This dish taste it as if someone cooked it in someone church's basement with limited access to seasoning. The presentation of the food was too much. You couldn't see the grits because of all of the extracurricular vegetation that was surrounding the grits, and covering the grits and hiding the grits.. This is a southern dish. This is a dish that you do not put on a menu unless you know you can really come with it. I'm going to take this as a trial era and give this dish another try. If it's still around in a couple of months and see if it's been improved, and also to see if you actually listen to your customers Recommendations. I took a loss on this.I felt like I wasted money. reviews like this can only help to improve the business. You gotta have customers who tell you the truth. When you're good, we'll let you know when you're good when you bet. We'll let you know that you're bad

Elevated Egg Sandwich, Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place so I went in with very low expectations. The food was pretty good! I enjoyed the breakfast sandwhich with the chicken sausage. The place looked and felt very clean and service was attentive though I will say it took almost an hour to get our food on a slow Tuesday morning. Other than that it was good and would come again!

Good menu with a nice variety of options. I especially appreciate the wide range of healthy choices, including plenty for vegetarians, like the bowls and other lighter dishes.

Million Dollar Bacon
Celeste N.

Came here a few times and it has always been consistently good. I usually start off my meal with some coffee and move into a juice. I love the different options they have for your meal (breakfast and brunch menu all day). I highly recommend the million dollar bacon if you like syrup on your bacon at home and also the pancakes!

Brunch time

We returned as our start to our Staycation. I tried the breakfast tacos with cajun chicken and chorizo with black beans. Side of Chicken sausage patties and ham. The chicken sausage was amazing as usual. The tacos were large, stuffed to overflowing but kind of bland. If the chicken or chorizo hahad spice you couldn't taste it. The ham was also good. Shana tried the black beans as she prefers them and they were ok. She got fresh market veggie oomelet and stated it was delightful and that the eggs were fluffy af. The staff was pleasant and fast. Less Christmas decor at this place then others. The alcohol is VERY limited so keep that in mind. It is usually busy but we got lucky and had a less busy time. The last visit didn't go as well but this one and previous ones before that did.

Chile Chorizo
Gretchen M.

I got Chile Chorizo Omelet, it was a perfect breakfast combo. A bit of salad, savory toast and delicious Omelet. Our server (Brittney) moved quick like a lightning. Tip: You can get in line on their website.

Bacon
Owen M.

I expect 3 things from a breakfast joint: eggs, bacon, and a view of McDonalds. First watch had all three! This place is a consistently good breakfast or brunch spot that is always lively and friendly, with basic breakfast dishes as well as some interesting pancakes and juices. First Watch has good service, and is a great spot if you are looking for a weekend breakfast or brunch without having to cook or clean.

Vida Verde Kitchen -- A Hidden Gem That's Worth Finding…read more Austin is overflowing with trendy restaurants where the food is decent, the lighting is aggressive, and the wait time requires a light snack and a personality shift. I tend to avoid those places. Vida Verde Kitchen, thankfully, is not that. Tucked into a great area but slightly hidden (the kind of spot you feel proud to "discover"), Vida Verde feels like a restaurant that exists for people who actually want to eat, not just post. The menu is a thoughtful fusion of Tex-Mex, fresh flavors, and Americana--familiar enough to be comforting, but creative enough to keep things interesting. Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but the food earns its confidence. The guacamole is an absolute must, and anything leaning Tex-Mex is consistently solid. I can vouch. The wait staff deserves real credit here--knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in the food and experience, which goes a long way these days. The atmosphere hits that Austin sweet spot: industrial touches softened by lush green foliage. It's stylish without trying too hard, which is rare and appreciated. If I had one note? This place needs a happy hour and a few more solid specials. Do that, and Vida Verde becomes dangerous--in the best way. Overall: a unique, thoughtful restaurant that avoids the hype trap and delivers where it matters. Definitely worth your time (and thankfully, not hours of it).

This "private room" is just the back part of the restaurant and it is not private. Then they had a 2 man Karaoke duo singing the whole entire time right next to us! It was unbearable, so loud, not even good karaoke! We could not talk at all, we came to spend time with our family. These things should have been explained before we booked! The food came an hour later and hour and half for the rest of the table, so half of our table was done eating and waiting. They didn't even bring out the kids first, so then kids were starving. The quality of the food is good, but they really need to plan better. Would never bring a large group here. It's fine for a small table.

Easily booked a reservation and was able to request seating on the patio overlooking the lake! The decor and overall vibe is extremely welcoming and several guests took advantage of the photo ops with the lake background. Both colleagues ordered the Salmon while I opted for the Roasted Duck. There was a significant period of silence when we first sampled our meals soaking in every flavor. We all devoured and commented on the green beans as well! I tried the Pecan Pie for dessert and it was outstanding and very rich! We had a great meal and will return on a future trip I'm sure!

Some of it is still the same but still a nice place, sports on the TV's at the bar and nice lighting. We didn't think about tables being reserved for the day but lucky for us one couple didn't show and they gave us there table. Our waitress was very friendly and fast, she and Shana hit it off pretty well. The drinks were good and came out pretty quickly considering it was fairly busy. They also had managers or supervisors going around checking on everyone which is nice. Now the food, It was good as usual but I had ordered my smash burger with mayo, cheese, and bacon. I am a simple person, I was a few bites in when I hit chopped onion. As we had been there awhile and were ready to go so when the server came back around I asked for the burger to just be removed as we wanted to go. They either didn't hear me or didn't listen as they took it to get it corrected. So I tried to talk to a manager to explain we just wanted it removed, not remade as we really needed to go. He said he would take care of it, then nothing for a bit and a new burger was brought out. So I just took it, ate a few bites and got the check. The server was very nice and even took pride in getting us a new burger but I felt that no one listened to me at all and it soured a lot of the visit. They did have a 3 course Valentine's day menu. Overall we still like this place but the being ignored twice was frustrating. We were tired, we wanted to go.

It was nice they seated us in a separate table for 6 since it was my birthday and they did give me a birthday treat, which I appreciated. The others all ordered deserts as well but I forgot to take photos of the deserts. They didn't seem that full/busy, but we had to waive down someone several times to answer questions and ask where certain items were. The menu seemed to have changed a bit from last year, but looked substantially the same. We enjoyed the entertainment the chef provided! We sometimes weren't clear who our server was so it took us a bit to flag the right person down to take a drink order. We ordered chicken, shrimp, steak, and salmon dish options. I had a hot sake too. When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess said that she didn't have the reso on her end; rather than apologizing or making a single effort to fix the issue, she just stared at us. We had to prompt her for clarification and next steps, and had to continue to prompt her through the process of getting us sat. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. But honestly I'm a little impressed at how little the entire staff cared about their guests.
