We were staying in Long Trail House and stopped here for some beers after skiing before getting back to our condo. Ski rack right outside and no problem to walk around inside with ski boots. Interesting beer list with a few good local options on draft. Stay away from the Manchester Mule - no copper mug - not enough vodka - definitely not a legit Moscow Mule. The food menu looked alright once you got past the Stratton inflated prices. Gluten free options indicated, which included the pizza. We had the lobster flatbread, pizza and winter salad. They sounded good but didn't deliver. The flatbread and pizza tasted like Little Ceasar's pizza. Just hacked up in strips. The winter salad was a strange concoction. The greens tasted stale or maybe too fresh. It wasn't the kale or beets which can be strong. Just had a heavy earthy taste. The butternut squash vinaigrette texture was more like soup. In fact our waiter forgot to mention the soup of the day. We would have preferred to have that instead. Thanks to the Fire Tower for a lovely evening! Our experience started with making an open table reservation about a week ahead. The day before they texted a reminder, and I noticed I had accidentally listed 5 when we needed 6. I replied to the text and they responded and accommodated my mistake with ease and courtesy. We were seated promptly at a table with nice spacing. Service was prompt and attentive. Nice selection of beers on draft. Our food included the ahi nachos, pork potstickers, rangoons, salad, steak, burgers, and flatbread with the kids going for Mac with fries. The entire meal and experience was excellent. Knowing that restaurants are on limited capacity I asked upon being seated if there was a table window, which is expected and understandable during current operating--the window was generous and allowed plenty of time for drinks, food, (more drinks) and social. read more

Great fresh food. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I've been coming here for years and I think it's great they change the menu up. I noticed they didn't offer bread but who cares about bread when the food is this good. Mike and Giovanna are great at the bar. This is by far the nicest place to hang out in on the mountain. I wish they offered more options for wings though. Just have jerk which is great but I don't think it'll require much effort on their end to offer bbq and buffalo wings along with their jerk. Great dinner! The place was modern rustic and was gorgeous. The hostess and waitress were nice and attentive to us. We were there with 4 children and felt very comfortable enjoying our meal. We ordered fish and chips, Lobster Carbonara, the Hamburger and Pork Schnitzel. With the exception of the slaw with tasted like lawnmower scraps everything else was top notch! So good! Worth all the hype! The food is absolutely delicious. I got the chicken with potatoes and vegetables. Cooked perfectly and not heavy. My husband, who is a vegetarian, got the dish with the rice and Beyond "sausage." He loved it. The rolls were hot and delicious, and the drink I got (cant remember the name) was amazing, and they were extremely generous on the size and alcohol content. The only negative is that I made a reservation three weeks in advance and could still only get a 4:30 time. But otherwise, so good!! read more

We had a wonderful first night at Fire Tower. Great appetizers. Excellent dirty martinis. A very charming bartender. However, we went back two days later for lunch and had an unpleasant interaction with the hostess, who apparently didn't think we were Fire Tower material. Believe me, we are Fire Tower material. With scowl on face, she told us there was a 45 minute wait when that clearly was not the case. When we told her we would wait, the scowl grew. Decided to forgo lunch at Fire Tower based on the experience. All-in-all, we had a great time in Stratton, but we won't be going back to this restaurant in the future. read more

Our first time skiing and staying at Stratton Mountain. My wife and I went to the Fire Tower on a Monday night. It was surprisingly crowded but we had reservations and were seated immediately so no problem. We really liked everything about this place...the menu, the drinks, the service, the food (VERY good) and the ambience. We feasted on the "small plates" plus dessert and were more than full when we left. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was it was a bit pricey (but not terribly so) and the local beer selection was somewhat limited. But these are small critiques for what was a very enjoyable night out! read more

Ate at the so-called "bar" during the VT Open 2015. Dirty Glasses to start. Forget ordering any good version of a Martini. Disgusting. Then the "food" 20 - 30 minutes later. We did not really care at that point. Turns out we should have left earlier anyway. We had the Ahi Nachos and 2 other appetizers that were so filthy with fingerprints and debris that we asked for a return. We never got our return after long finishing our drinks. So we left. Four days Into the new incarnation, and it shows. Took my son there for dinner tonight and it felt like we were on the shakedown cruise. Nice decor. Happening bar scene with some of Stratton's best veteran bar tenders. No complaints about that end of the operation. But then we get to the dining experience. The reception staff doesn't seem to be all that well trained. When I came in 15 min early for my reservation (made on open table, sorry yelp), stood there like a doofus for 5 minutes waiting for one of the three hostesses to acknowledge my existence. There was no one else demanding their attention so it hurt my feelings. Confirmed my table with her and told her we would be in the bar. Had an excellent drink, but after 20 minutes no one came to get us. So went back to reception, waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged and told it would be half an hour. Reminded her we had a reservation. She went to see if our table was ready. We were seated at 7:25 for a 7pm reservation. I get it was a busy Saturday night, but there were empty tables. We were sat at a table we had seen empty for at least 20 minutes. Service at the table was friendly and speedy. Our food came within 20 minutes and we were paid up and out of there at 8:07. There were a lot of people at reception waiting for a table. The table next to ours was good for 6-8 people. It sat empty for most of the time we were there. They need a better system for clearing and resetting the tables to increase their capacity. It is costing them money, as we saw them turn away walk-ins. We saw three different people sequentially work on setting that empty table. No one seemed in charge or in too much of a hurry. Maybe busboys would help? Bottom line, the food and beverage we had was good and fairly priced, the table service wes good, but the reception was so poor that I can only give 2 stars at this time. Right now I feel we were better off with the old place (Organic Pizza). This can be fixed with better staff training in the front of the house and a process for clearing and resetting tables. . Other suggestions from my son takeout for the pizza They could upgrade the soda quality. Saratoga root beer would be nice according to my son. The ginger ale was flat and sweet. They should put Hawaiian pizza on the menu. We will try again at Christmas. read more

Not cheap but not overpriced, the food won't change your life but it's really good and even a little inventive here and there. We chose Fire Tower based on its location to our condo. Menu was limited. Ordered the shrimp with lobster risotto. It was pricey at $31 and unfortunately I did not like it. Better off ordering the flatbreads which were quite tasty and much more affordable at $13. Save yourself some money and instead of eating in utilize their takeout menu which has additional affordable options. Lychee martini tasted more like cherry cough syrup than lychee. read more

Driving in to Stratton Village I was looking for somewhere to grab a beer and wait for our friends to meet us, I think the Fire Tower is the only place you can see from the road. Good call - first and last place we'd want to go. Ski areas aren't built for the high quality or variety of food, so it's pretty easy to settle for less if you must. Crummy food and lots of beer will warm you up all the same. The good news is that this place has it pretty well dialed in. Excellent selection of VT beers (nice surprise to find Zero Gravity this far south), and perfect ski food. Great wings, pizza, and the surprise of my second visit were the vegetarian dumplings - really good (even though I gave my cousin some shit for ordering them next to the bacon bbq chicken pizza)! The staff was awesome, and incredibly gracious. Watching the MLK weekend crowd do their best to either sleep with or dominate each of the bar staff was really entertaining. It's clear these guys are pros, even if it's a brand new spot. Fashion tip: it turns out that Hunters have replace Moon Boots and dutch farmer has replaced spaceman as the look of the day. I was looking forward to trying this place since I first saw them remodeling the building! The interior design and decor of this restaurant is everything you would imagine a restaurant in Vermont to be. It has the perfect ski house feeling with the timbers and the orange glow from the hand blown glass. We had a drink in the bar before we sat at our table and I was impressed with the Drink Menu from the start. I tried the Cider Smash which was the perfect winter drink, it warmed me right up! We then sat at a booth for 6 people and it was private and comfortable. The specials all sounded delicious and we proceeded to order a few Apres-tizers because we wanted to sample everything as they were all the traditional favorites with a unique spin! I would highly recommend the wings, shrimp and pot stickers, those were my favorites. Everyone at my table ordered a different meal but everyone was equally impressed. We had the grouper, pesto shrimp, mountain bleu, duck special and winter salad. Not one person had a complaint and we all ate everything. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Stratton. It is great for family dinners, large groups, a drink in the bar, apres skiing, and anyone interested in good food and great drinks! Gave it a second chance and very glad we did so. The food was awesome! We started with a tamale appetizer that was simply brilliant. So good that we used our bread to sop up the sauce. I had a flatbread with prosciutto and a balsamic vinegar that was really good. My wife liked her Greek salad. Cold beer :). Very helpful and attentive waiter. Decided to try out the new place, and had a great time. The food was awesome had the tuna nachos to start and my wife had the pork pot sticker. Couldn't get enough of the both of them. Just as we were finishing up the main coarse came right out. Our waiter Jersey J was great. Made sure that our drinks were always full and everything was to our satisfaction. Sitting at the mountain trying to figure out where to grab dinner, didn't really want to drive the 45 minutes to a city big enough to get a decent bite to eat. We were told about this place, so we decided to try. On a Saturday night at about 6:45 they said they were completely booked up for the rest of the night at the tables. We looked in the bar section where you could seat yourself and found a pretty good spot for 2 at a booth against the window. We were served almost right away as we sat down, I was impressed. We started off with the fire tower shrimp. Wow... those were some good flavors on that shrimp, a bit of spice, I recommend trying. I haven't had a shrimp dish I've enjoyed like that in many years. A great start for the rest of dinner, we both loved it. For dinner we ended up getting the sausage & kale cavatapp and a margherita flatbread. Both were excellent. The flatbread/pizza was awesome, the little tomatoes used on it were very good, the prosciutto, the balsamic drizzle, they were all awesome in their own right, and together, its like you understood what the chef was going for, getting a little of everything in each bite. It was one of those rare dining experiences where you feel like you just get it, and it tastes amazing. The sausage & kale cavatapp, wow, wow is all I can really say. Just imagine a typical pasta looking dish, imagine taking a bight, and then getting something that tastes 10 times better than what you are used to getting for that dish. I don't understand what the chef did to make those flavors stand out like they did, maybe it was the "tomato vodka alfredo" but I felt like I was tasting something the way it was meant to be made, very impressed with the flavors of that dish. We didn't end up doing desert, we were pretty full, but next time, after experiencing 3/3 on dishes we ordered and loved, I think we'd get something just based on the fact that everything this place made for us has been executed great so far.
