The food at Fire Tower cannot be beat; my meal Saturday night was perfection. We started by sharing the Churrasco Tamale (Pulled Beef Brisket, Chimichurri, Chipotle Aioli, Steamed Masa Cake, Salsa), which was a good sharing portion for two people. The brisket was so tender and well-seasoned -- I'd love to see it featured in a three-piece taco entree -- and all the flavors melded together for an oral fiesta. I ordered the Bacon Old Fashioned, which certainly carried a punch but was smoothed out by a drizzle of Vermont maple syrup. For my entree, I had the Mountain Primavera Lasagna (Pasta & Garden Vegetable Terrine, Fire Roasted Marinara, Hempseed Pesto, Yellow Pepper Coulis), which I was a little nervous about being a vegetarian option, but it was one of the best lasagnas I've ever had. It's not quite your traditional veggie lasagna, but I thought it was better and lighter. The yellow pepper coulis really stole the plate show. The portion size, in my opinion, is just right -- enough to satisfy but not to stuff. We capped off the meal by sharing the Lemon Pecan Crusted Cheesecake. I am not a fan of lemon desserts, but I could appreciate that this was well-executed and had more than a couple bites. It is definitely a lemon cheesecake with not much pecan flavor. Fire Tower is a beautiful, warm space, and I definitely favor the bar area or Porcupine Lounge over the main dining room for coziness and that real ski lodge feel. The service is a bit lackluster, especially for the price point. Four hostesses, and it was a challenge to get one's attention. There was clearly an open table, but they told us it could be a 45-minute wait. What?!? Our waiter was adequate but lacked personality and didn't fill water glasses from the bottle placed on the table. However, the food runners and cook who delivered our food were excellent! With somewhat limited dining options in the village, I'll definitely return to Fire Tower -- this Saturday actually -- as it is a great option for a nice apres-ski meal. read more

Fire Tower is one of the few restaurants located in the ski village in Stratton. The restaurant is right in the heart of the village. It's a perfect place to take your friends and family after a long day of skiing. Their ahi nachos and crab cake was delicious. The Margherita flatbread was also delicious. It gets packed pretty quickly so reservations are recommended. They have really nice cocktails and IPAs. The server was really attentive and friendly. Needed a quick place for dinner after snowboarding on the mountain. On the pricey side. Ordered the wedge salad, kale salad, jerk wings, steak for dinner. Jerk wings - terrific; sauce is delicious; will definitely order again Wedge salad - Very good; would order again Kale salad - ok - would not order again Ny strip steak was undercooked (rare when we ordered medium rare) - would not order again. But the BEST PART were the desserts!!!! Peanut butter chocolate pie was outrageous! Key lime pie sublime says the hubby, I say yummy - I enjoyed the pairing of the peanut butter chocolate with the key lime - sweet, sour and salty all in one - yummmmmmm We also gotthe chocolate cake crusted with Oreo. It was great. Very thick. So delicious!! Service was impeccable Extra dressing not charging 4 because of the overall experience. Food was ok, given the really delicious wings and wedge but on the other hand disappointing kale salad and very expensive and undercooked steak making the value not so great. The food here is top notch! We come here every visit to Stratton. The prices are very reasonable for mountain dining. The ahi tuna nachos are phenomenal! Oh my god that wasabi aioli is tasty! The tuna is extremely fresh and it has a fun palette combo since the wonton chips add a nice crunchy element. The jerk wings are some of the best dry rubbed wings I've ever had! Oh my god they have such a nice little kick to them. And the flatbreads come in nice combinations. Get the green mountain hipster. Nice variety of veggies on there. Really goof stuff! The only down side was it seemed the waitress and bartenders were very confused on what a mimosa was. My friend ordered a pomegranate mimosa and somehow the drink came back with no bubbles and with ice in the glass...it was more like a pomegranate sangria. So that was odd and when we called out how this wasn't a mimosa in all standard measures aka sparkling wine and no ice, they insisted there was sparkling wine in there...eventually we got what we wanted but man, a mimosa is like a classic drink that's hard to really interpret so differently. It's about the time to post my opinion about this establishment. I can't believe how one of my favorite restaurants at Stratton Mountain became the most disgusting and horrible place on the whole mountain! Let's start than: From outside all looks OK maybe except some teenagers sitting on the porch and spitting in one of the fire pits, who cares ? The staff was friendly however, they have no clue about the menu or food they serve, they did't even ask if something was wrong when we left most of the food untouched! The food was simply NOT FRESH and probably prepared days in advance! My fish was smelling so bad I couldn't take one bite. I don't know who is in charge of cleaning ? Sticky tables! Cloudy and greasy glassware! The floor leading to the kitchen is covered in food and grease! The bathroom is like from a horror movie, missing tiles,spider webs, mold, sh..t everywhere!!! Please do not attempt to use it without hazmat suit! I guess the Health Department would shut this place down after experiencing what I did. I would give zero stars. I'd have submitted a photo but I actually never got my food. Their vegetarian menu being as small as it is should have some good items. I ordered the flat bread. What I got was disappointed. They were quick to come out and bring water and rolls as we had just finished a 7k race on the mountain. They were friendly and didn't mind that we stank. They even had a specialty menu for the racers there that week. That's where it all ended though for me. They brought out the other four dishes at our table (all of which had a meat component and one was the vegetarian pizza with chicken on it). When mine didn't come out I assumed it would be there shortly. I told my party to eat without me as I didn't want theirs getting cold and we were all very hungry. The waitress came around for the standard "how is everything". I had to stop her before she walked off and inform her that I had never received my food. She walked off and came back stating that it would be 4-5 minutes. I asked that she bring more water and bread while waiting and she did. After she brought the prison meal of bread and water was the last time I saw her. Our friends that arrived about 15 minutes after us and were seated outside were being brought their food the next time I saw an employee. I flagged down the food runner and told him to cancel my meal as my table was near done with their meal and I wasn't going to take mine to go or make them wait on me. Roughly 5-7 minutes after that the waitress brings my meal. I inform her that I already requested it be cancelled as everyone else was done eating and we just needed the bill at this point. She seemed confused and simply said "oh" and walked off. She didn't offer any kind of apology or to comp the meal. She simply walked to the back and came back with the check. I was half expecting the meal to still be on the check but it wasn't. That was the last we saw of anyone. No manager came out to apologize about the fact that I didn't get any food or anything. Maybe it's cause I'm from the south but we have manners. I did get a beer though and it was good. 10/10 would recommend the rolls and water read more

Have eaten here in each of Stratton ski trips. Food is vey good but I experienced what I believe is food poisoning last week. Had the shellfish with saffron rice dish,6-7 hour later I was vomiting with diarrhea. I lost a ski day and cut my trip short. I was ok by 24 hours later so it wasn't a bug and I didn't drink at all so it wasn't alcohol. My wife was fine but had a different meal. I understand there is a risk whenever you eat shellfish. I left a message with the restaurant the next morning, so they could be aware. I am surprised they never even returned my call. I feel they should have. read more

We asked them to create something off-menu and in 15 minutes came amazing Chilli-cheese fries...sooo good. My BIL and SIL tried a bunch of the appetizers and they loved all of them. Their favorite was the ahi tuna tartar nachos and lobster mac and cheese. All the beers we had were nice especially a few of the Vermont brews. The waiter was very knowledgeable and offered to let us try things before we ordered. Got a burger an beer, simple enough right? Burger was definitely a once frozen patty with only one slice of tomato and lettuce/onion. One slice of cheese was a dollar upcharge. Really? We started to have dinner at the Fire Tower this past winter when it opened. We always had a great experience so we decided to have my daughter's rehearsal dinner there. We were so pleased. The staff was so professional and accommodating . The food was delicious thanks to Max, the chef. Peter the owner was so wonderful to work with and Ralph was there overseeing the whole party of 60 people. He was so helpful. It went so smoothly and everyone only had the best comments. The first time I went in here, we sat at the bar - the bartender was cool and nice and the dumplings and whatever else we got were delicious. The second time I came here, (Management: evening of March 8), the brunette host was downright rude when I entered, and I felt looked down on, for suggesting that we were there to dine (was it the snowboard pants?). The third time, we had a great experience. We had a reservation and the blonde hostess (not the rude one) promptly greeted us and brought us to a nice corner table. The stuffed clams were a bit heavy and rich. The venison was delicious and beautifully plated. The seared tuna with sticky rice was also an excellent dish, though some of the thicker, raw parts were slightly fishy. Overall the food and service was great. It's a little bit expensive for the service but the waitress was friendly and the food here is excellent and you can tell there is care in the ingredients and plating. Definitely had to write a review after seeing this place's mediocre rating on here. Came here on a Friday night after a day on the mountain to kick-off my birthday weekend and was thoroughly impressed! Sat at the bar by a framed "fireplace" and it was super cozy and we had great service from the bartenders. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their food and drinks! Started with the Potstickers and Elk Sausage Sampler. Have to say that the sausage was good on its own but the combination of everything on the plate was fantastic!!! Dinner: Samoan Tombo Tuna, Pork Porterhouse, Sausage and Kale Cavatappi, and a Venison that I can't find on the menu. BEST ENTREE: The venison!!!! It will change the way you feel about venison! The whole next day I was thinking about it and it wasn't even mine. Bottom line....the next day we went to an upscale restaurant in the village but we all said our meal was better here so don't miss out!!! read more

Went with my 8 yr old nephew who said with great enthusiasm, "The fish and chips are EXCELLENT. They're cod and cooked perfectly. They have the perfect brown crispiness." They looked excellent. Unfortunately I did not have the fish and chips but the Wiener schnitzel which was a bit tough and not remotely crispy or cooked excellently like the aforementioned cod. Drinks are top notch though. I went there this past weekend and had a really terrible, overpriced meal. We ordered a couple of small plates as appetizers. The shrimp was fine but served on a pile of noodles that was excessive. The tuna tartar nachos again tasted fine, but there were far too many chips and very little tuna. The entrees were really disappointing. My wife and I ordered the filet mignon medallions. The medallions were supposed to be medium rare, but they came out well done and burnt. They came with overcooked asparagus and some scalloped potatoes that were not half bad. I've been there before and had good meals. Hopefully I just got a bad night, but I'm not sure I'm going to want to risk another bad meal at those prices. read more

This restaurant is often over booked and the staff is not trained in order to give customers a good overall experience. I had made a reservation for 6:30 and when I got to the front desk I was sent to the "waiting area" with two other un-happy families. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and politeness of the staff. This restaurant is the new L'osteau Brasserie for those who remember that expensively delicious restaurant. It really has something for everyone. For me that is the steak but I am forgetting which one and the Cesar salad. I was extremely impressed with the Cesar and it tasted delicious with the amazing kale they add in for a amazing flavor and taste. With a family of four our bill was 180$ but after tip the meal cost us 210$. Overall, we enjoyed it so much we are again to eat there tonight.
