I went to have a glass of wine and a snack on a cold and rainy day while waiting for a friend. Love the building but the bar/dining area is designed badly. Took a seat at the empty bar around lunch time. Took more than 5 minutes to get a smirk acknowledgment after asking for water and a menu. I ordered the corn arancini (which was flavorless and gummy) and a glass of rose which I was charged $2 more than the menu stated. I asked the bartender about the price discrepancy and he shrugged and said he'd just gotten back from vacation and didn't know anything about it. Didn't even bother to check or ask management. I'm 20 years deep in the service industry and this is appalling. 1. Hire a better chef. 2. Keep your price list updated. 3. Train your staff better. Lineups should happen daily!!!!! I've eaten at Farley Bar a few times over the last 5 years, and every meal has been fantastic. Definitely prefer the outdoor seating on the deck/patio to enjoy the beautiful view of Cavallo Point and the Golden Gate Bridge. When it's cold/foggy, they turn on the heaters. Most recently, we celebrated our anniversary over brunch, and the staff surprised us with a cute dessert - very sweet! Our fave dishes include the burger and fried chicken sandwich. read more

TLDR; Good but very pricey (a good place to bring your parents/out-of-town visitors). We started the meal with cocktails. I had the Boulevardier, a warm, whiskey-forward journey with a long, semi-sweet finish (although my gf's Cavallo Point old fashioned may have been a bit better). Appetizers included black garlic tuna poke (with rice chips, which was a perfect pairing, although we lost one in the breeze) and the warm Sonoma goat cheese (which was sweet and soul-warming, especially given the aforementioned breeze). My main was the marinated chicken, which was perfectly cooked, as was the risotto with which it was served. It was good (as we're the delightful mushrooms hidden in the risotto), but didn't have the pizzazz of the two appetizers. The waiter recommended the bread pudding for dessert, a recommendation we accepted. The pudding had just the right amount of pecan to be sweet and full bodied without being overly nutty, and it paired very nicely with it's accompanying brown sugar ice cream. All in all, the good was good, but very pricey. Some of that cost went towards the view, which was spectacular. So the dinner was worth the money, but for the whole experience, not for the food alone. read more

Underwhelming and overpriced. Blue crab cake did not highlight what should have been the star - crab meat. Was also undercooked in terms of temperature. Overall flavor was mediocre. I also asked for a seat outside (which there was availability). Hostesses said there were "saving for other guest" so I sat at the bar. When I left, the table I saw outside was still unoccupied. Came to Farley with a group of women celebrating a birthday after we got massages at the Cavallo point spa (also recommend!) We reserved a table for 8 and were seated 15 minutes before our scheduled arrival and were sat promptly in a well lit area of the restaurant. The drinks and food were delicious, and our server was courteous, personable, and attentive. My only regret was that we brought a bottle of sparkling to celebrate the birthday girl and the wine was chilled for way too short a time before our server poured it. It was luke warm at best. I could have told him it wasn't ready but I was seated at the other end of the table and did not see him start and thought it would be rude to interject. I hold a higher standard for a high end restaurant like Farley, and I believe servers should be taught how to check and assure proper temperatures of beverages to ensure a next level experience. (I am a former sommelier, for my credentials). Then again, this detail did not turn me off to never trying the place again, but if management is reading this, I believe these details would help set your restaurant apart from the overpriced and average. read more

I came to Farley after staying at Cavallo point one night for breakfast. I think these two organizations have a deal with each other because you can put the tab onto your room number. The food was ok, gluten free pancakes can only be so good. The part that makes me upset is how they handled the situation of the bill after we had left the restaurant and the hotel. We were charged twice and a bunch of unexpected fees from the Hotel after we left and when trying to dispute it, were highly unsuccessful. One of the charges was Farley'a bill twice! I already knew about the predatory practices, but just wanted to let others know about both these organizations and their unethical practices. read more

We both had coffee, so glad that they have decaf. They were very accommodating for me to switch from regular to decaf after my first cup. I had the egg scramble, delicious with hot sauce. My husband and I celebrated our wedding brunch at the old restaurant here in November 2021. That was amazing. Food, service, atmosphere were all great. Today was a completely different experience. The redesign of the space is horrendous. We were seated to the right of the restaurant (not where the bar is located). The service was fantastic. All of the staff were friendly, accommodating, and attentive. The croissants arrived to our table and looked as if they had been forgotten about in the oven. Practically burnt. Flaky croissants are delicious. Crunchy, DARK brown, burnt croissants shouldn't have even made it to our table. The eggs Benedict was undercooked, cold, and the ham was too thick. The latté, scrambled eggs, and chicken apple sausage were all tasty. The worst part of the whole experience was the space itself. Whoever designed the new layout paid zero attention to an actual *experience* of dining in a restaurant and created a space that would be far better suited to a cozy café. We changed tables 3 times and still could not get a comfortable and practical table for dining. Other than the long dining table (occupied by a large group today), there was not a single setting in this space that looked comfortable or functional to share a meal. Certainly not with another person, as the tables were tiny and overcrowded quickly. Probably one of the most physically uncomfortable restaurant experiences. I hate to put it that harshly, but nothing about this space is inviting and encouraging of an enjoyable dining experience. read more

What an amazing hidden gem! Having lived in the Bay Area my entire life to drive past a place hundreds of times and not know it is there is unbelievable! Their ratings certainly did not come close to our experience. This is a beautiful old renovated building. The staff was professional, very friendly, ready to make sure everything is great. We had wonderful mussels, soup, veggies, pork loin and mahimahi. All were flavorful prepared good sized portions. In short this is a true hidden gem set within tranquil world class views. We had brunch here yesterday, 10/12/22, first time here since the restaurant change. Our waiter was Albert and I give Albert 5 stars and want to thank him. I was not feeling well and needed something in my stomach so I quickly ordered some oatmeal. Albert immediately saw I was not feeling well & my oatmeal was in front of me, before I knew it. He was genuinely kind and considerate to me and this was greatly appreciate, especially with how I was feeling. Thank you Albert. For food, besides the oatmeal, which i cannot comment on since it was eaten in hopes to soothe my stomach and rid my headache and taste was something I was not interested in or could process. The others ordered, French Toast (pecan?), crab Benedict, regular Benedict, & scramble or omelette. They all came with potatoes and the potatoes were OK. They were nothing to write home about and I do believe different from previous menu. I believe we enjoyed potatoes more with prior recipe but they were eaten with complaint. Crab Benedict-this was delicious and would get this again-recommend Regular Benedict-OK and I have had better at other mom and pop restaurants French Toast-excellent and definitely would order again. Many compliments from person, who ordered including liking the candied fruit Omelette or scramble-OK-would not get again. Have had better in many other locations. Previously at prior restaurant, when coffee was ordered you would receive a small carafe where now, it is a cup with refills. With this being said, my wife said coffee was excellent. I skipped on coffee due to not feeling well and others did not have. Heaters work well and same deck for outdoor eating. I love this place and although menu changed, food was still good and will continue to visit. read more

We stayed at the Cavallo Point lodge at the end of April and dined at Farley. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and we were seated at a lovely table. My kids were given a separate kids menu and enjoyed broccolini and macaroni and cheese. My husband and I enjoyed some amazing cocktails with the umami fries, crispy fried calamari and the ahi tuna poke. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The tuna could have been lighter in terms of the dressing because it covered too much of the tuna's natural flavor but it was still enjoyable to eat. The service was great and the staff was attentive to our needs and any questions we had. We would gladly return in the future. read more

I've loved coming to this place for years. Albert the server is fantastic. We will definitely request him in the future. They seemed to have changed the menu and not gotten it right. I ordered the "braised chicken" .. which was so rubbery I only took a couple bites. It didn't taste braised at all. My husband got the spare ribs which were tender but not very flavorful at all. The burata appetizer was delicious.. as was the strawberry pound cake dessert. Hoping they fix the menu otherwise we will probably only come for drinks and apps in the future. I've been to Farley Bar three times now, and I really liked my experience. The bar is absolutely beautiful and has amazing views, the drinks are made really well, the service is on point, they have a wide range of spirits, and their bar snacks are pretty great too. The only real downside I've experienced is that they've been out of specific spirits I ordered (that were listed on their menu) a couple times now, and were even out of my first AND second choice on my last visit. Other than the stocking issue, this is a wonderful place to enjoy a cocktail, especially on a cool, foggy Bay Area evening. There are a few things that have kept us coming back to Farley Bar. The first is, of course, the drinks. The bartenders here are all masters of their crafts, and not only is the drink menu extensive, but every drink is consistently good. Yes, the prices are quite steep, but for the quality (and the ambiance), it's worth it. As I said above, my one big gripe is that they have been out of specific spirits that I have requested a couple times now, so they need to do a better job keeping their full menu in stock. Otherwise, the drinks are great. The snacks aren't bad either (get the warm pistachios!) The second thing that keeps us coming back is the ambiance. You can either sit inside the turn-of-the-century, super cozy indoor bar area (complete with fire place), or outside on the verandah, which has an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Either place is quite serene: even though you can *see* San Francisco from here, it's worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city. All in all, I would definitely recommend Farley Bar for a well made cocktail (or two) in a great setting. read more

I appreciated the girl up front who held my coat separate from the coat check when she saw it was a certain brand. Do you ever think it's your fault? For staying and hoping it'll improve? Or for keep telling yourself that it'll be worth it? And again after waiting 20 minutes to place your drink order? For then trying to place your food order, after being ignored for 30 minutes, only to be told to wait? To then finally place the order and be told "The nicer you are, the faster the food will come". Yeah... we should've known what would come. Another recent review described the service as rude and inattentive, which we can attest to, but that was unfortunately only half of the issue during our visit tonight. While we were a bit relieved when the food finally came (over an hour after we were allowed to order, and 2 hours into our seating), despite the exceptionally poor service, the last straw was the hair that came on the chicken dish. The waitress told us this was the "best" kitchen team and the manager was very present in the dining room but did not check on us once until we specifically asked to speak with him. I would urge you to consider nearly any other restaurant in the area if you want to eat. For $18 per cocktail and $25-40 per entree you can do A LOT better in the Bay Area. read more

Was not impressed. I've been here before and it was ok but not amazing and I don't think I will come back. The server, Emmanuel, didn't clarify our order so when we asked for sparkling water..he brought two (one was enough). The appetizers ( a friend rice ball and the pork bao bun) were "ok". The burger ordered "medium rare" came back RARE..like raw meat from the butcher rare. The mushroom ravioli was again "ok" and a bit sweet. Last time it was better. Probably not coming back. read more
