We stayed at the Cavallo Point lodge and enjoyed three lunches at Farley during our stay. They have a great menu, salads, sandwiches and some main courses. It's a bit pricey as you would expect for a hotel restaurant. They have lots of seating and when the sun comes out you can eat out on the deck, overlooking the amazing views of this wonderful place. Unfortunately for us it was just a little too chilly for outside, at least for me I was a little wimpy without my jacket. Everything we had was great. I had the salmon BLT, the Miso Caesar with grilled shrimp, and the last day I had the burger. The burger and sandwiches come with salad, if you want to get fries there is an up charge. I like salads and I'm used to the opposite so I was pleased. And the salads are generous, with radish and tomatoes and good lettuce. My husband did get the fries on the last day and they were yummy - worth the up charge for sure. The burger was his favorite - he also liked his chicken sandwich but it was a little harder to eat. The porch is really hard to leave. We loved the view, appreciated the space heaters, and had great service where we were unrushed. The ahi ceviche was lovely and well balanced, the miso Caesar was perfectly flavored. I can't believe it took me this long to discover Cavallo Point. I've spent so much time in Sausalito over the years, and somehow this place completely escaped me--which now feels almost criminal. The location is genuinely breathtaking. Sweeping views, lush grounds, and that cinematic Golden Gate backdrop that makes you stop mid-thought. As a hotel, it's absolutely going on my short list for future stays. Cavallo Point also has a restaurant on-site, and much like ERIA (which I've reviewed before), it feels like a venue that's been figuring itself out through a series of pivots. Personally, I respect that. I admire spaces that evolve and adapt instead of clinging to the status quo until they go under. That said, I do think they could do a better job explaining who they are and what they offer--I genuinely didn't know which restaurant I was walking into or what to expect. We stopped by on a Saturday around 2 p.m. without a reservation and were seated fairly easily. Parking was also easy, with plenty of street parking available. There is very limited outdoor seating, though, so we ended up sitting inside, which felt noticeably darker and less magical than the grounds outside. The menu itself was another letdown--very few options, nothing particularly unique or appetizing, and surprisingly little in the way of comfort food. It looked fine on paper, but nothing jumped out or felt exciting. Service was spotty from the start. After being seated, we waited about 20 minutes before finally having to wave someone down just to take our order. Small things continued to slip--like having to ask for ketchup twice before it ever arrived--which didn't help the overall experience. Now to the food. I wanted so badly to love it. The ambience alone had me rooting for this place. But unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. I ordered the chicken sandwich (I have a long-standing chicken sandwich obsession that was recently reignited by Blue Barn, so my standards are... informed). I upgraded from salad to fries, which felt reasonable until the plate arrived. The shrimp was noticeably low quality. The fried coating on the chicken completely slid off, leaving bare, unseasoned chicken underneath. No seasoning, no balance, no cohesion. The soup was half decent flavor-wise, but it came out cold. I didn't finish the sandwich. I didn't finish the soup. My friend ordered the same burger and didn't like it either. Meanwhile, the bar looked lively, and the space had that classic hotel-restaurant buzz. I also ran into quite a few locals, so clearly this is a place people come to hang out. The bill came out to around $170 for two burgers, shrimp, and tip, which felt especially steep given the quality of the food. At that price point, I expect at least solid execution, if not something memorable. Would I go back? Absolutely--for the views, the grounds, maybe a coffee or a drink, or just to enjoy the park and scenery. But I honestly don't understand why anyone would come here specifically to eat. Likewise for the Grassfed Burger, which they cook to about medium rare. For the Ahi Tuna Poke, you really do not get a lot for the price, and I could barely make out the papaya, which the menu said was included in the dish. For a lover of poke, Farley's approach to poke didn't hit the spot for me. What shines here is the service. Steak and eggs usually comes with a tough and chewy piece of meat, lacking in flavor. Not the case here. Probably the best version of this dish I've had. The sourdough toast was fresh and excellent. I had the International Orange brunch cocktail and loved it (I love a cocktail with egg whites involved). They have a really rude hostess. I went there in Feb to have lunch, by myself, for my birthday. Thought to take a relaxing day. I went around late noon, It wasn't super busy. I wanted to sit outside but there weren't any seats available. Inside was pretty empty and she sat me down in the farthest corner by the restroom. Then I talked to the waiter to switch outside since people finished up. He was nice and switch me out. Later the hostess brought more people sat at the tables next to me. I was there for my birthday lunch December 2 and it was a party of five and we ordered the umami fries. The Parker House rolls with lavender butter and I shared a fried chicken sandwich with my friend. My other friend got the salad with chicken and pomegranates and butternut squash which she said was not cooked enough and my sister got the soup special and my brother got a hamburger which he finished so I presume it was good. The only bad thing was the service in terms of the server and bussers started to clear plates not waiting until everybody is finished which is standard protocol and to the point where my brother said please don't clear my plate until everyone else is finished even though he was done ---something that a server in a restaurant of this caliber shouldn't have to be told by a guest. We felt ever so slightly a rushed quality, even though we were the only guests in the restaurant and they were nowhere near closing time. I would go again, but I would probably tell the manager upon leaving that their servers need more training. I didn't do that that day because it was my birthday. read more

We ate here last night during our stay at Cavallo Point. We were able to get in very quickly and the hostess was really nice, which was super convenient after a long day exploring the city. The restaurant also had good ambience. Our food was really good as well. I got the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich and my husband got the french dip sandwich, which he really enjoyed. However, our server seemed rude at times and didn't seem like he wanted to be serving us. I initially thought it was maybe his personality or usual demeanor (not everyone is a people person, right?), but then I noticed him being very warm and interactive with other guests around us. Additionally, I did bite into a piece of what I think is parchment paper while eating my fried chicken sandwich. The food was delicious, but I did lose my appetite a bit after biting into that. I still took the food back to our room in case I wanted to eat it later though. Beautiful atmosphere at Farley for a weekend breakfast, after a recent remodel. The food here was a-okay-ish, but without a standout dish. We ordered their bagel with lox and scrambled egg and a traditional eggs Benedict with a thick slice of ham. We came after reading an Eater article that announced Farley had remodeled and had a new chef & new menu. The setting here is a knockout with deep emerald tile, brass fixtures, two roaring fireplaces going on a foggy day and a beautiful setting inside the newly renovated Cavallo Point resort. Their outdoor seating looks directly out onto the Golden Gate Bridge. Incredible views. Most of Farley's customers appeared to be families staying at the hotel. We had a challenging service experience here. Could have been our server, but the front of house (from hostess to server) didn't seem tuned to customers at the level you might hope. The setting is gorgeous, the food was just a-okay and the service experience needs more focus, time and training. Given the decor and roaring fires, I could see returning for a glass of wine or cocktails but wouldn't return to dine based on our experience. read more

My wife was getting a massage at the spa so I sat outside and had some whiskey sours and enjoyed the view and talk to Raju. Raju recommended the pistachios and they were incredible! I have come here on several occasions for work lunches and i have never been very impressed. People do rave about the brunches so perhaps its a different (superior) experience but for a privatized lunch which i have been a part of several times, i thought the menu was quite basic (for vegetarians) and the service was quite slow. The soup/salad were ok, nothing to rave for and the vegetarian option was basic mushroom ravioli which funny enough they also had at the other restaurant next door for a private event (not sure if its two rooms or two restaurants), i am talking about the space in the back. The non vegetarians had pretty looking food but no one really finished their plates or commented about them. The flower petals did dress up the plates. The service was so bad.. we were 10-12 at most, we had two waiters and the two hosts of the event had to get up three times to see if they were going to clear plates and take us to the next part of the meal.. The dessert was excellently. Decadent and we could not have more than a few bites but very good. The latte was meh. The decor is nice inside and if you are on patio you are overlooking grass and old military barracks. read more

We have been here before but came here today on a Sunday so it was a brunch menu. Parking is always a bit difficult here but today wasn't so bad due to the time of year and weather. We were seated right away. The table next to us was seated after us and their waiter came to them for their order and walked by us a few times. He was not our waiter but came and checked on us to see if we had been helped? When we said no he just jumped right in and took our order. Nice job!!! My husband and I both ordered their grass fed burger with caramelized onions on a Brioche bun. The burger meat was so good and tasty. I haven't had a burger like this one in quite a while. . It came a little too raw the first time but they nicely fixed that issue quickly. It came with a salad with sweet tomatoes, radishes and a champagne dressing. We were very happy. Careless, sloppy, and completely unapologetic. Absolutely do NOT come here if you or anyone in your party has any allergies. We came to pick up two gluten-free dishes as takeout for our toddler who has a wheat allergy. It was a disaster. The hostess at the front desk couldn't find one of the dishes we ordered in the POS and instead substituted a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and entirely unrelated dish without checking with us and didn't mention anything when we picked up the order. We only found out after we got back to our room (we were staying at Cavallo Point) and noticed that we somehow had a random salmon dish instead of the vegetable dish we had ordered. We checked on the online menu and couldn't find any salmon dish that matched what we had received so we couldn't be sure if it was gluten-free and therefore safe for our toddler to eat. We had to bring the dish back to the restaurant and when we asked what it was, the same hostess had NO IDEA, despite being the one who had inputted the order. She took the food back and had the kitchen remake the original dish we had ordered. There was no apology -- not even a perfunctory "sorry" -- and no acknowledgement of any of the multitude of mistakes on her part or the inconvenience she inflicted on us with her indifference and ineptitude. The fact that she didn't even pretend to care about screwing up the order and was completely fine with substituting some other random dish that we didn't order without telling us should tell you everything you need to know. read more

But the reason to come here is to eat outside on the porch in the open air and with a 1/2 view of the bay. FIrst time at a restaurant at Cavallo Point in several years. Used to be a favorite when we lived in Ross. Pre-Farley it was a very large, very classy restaurant. The kind that was worth the drive for a New Years Eve meal. Now that space seems to be a "light snack sections and the restaurant moved into the bar. I'm sure the bar was fun for the participants. But for the dinners here's the picture. SO DAMN LOUD my wife and I could barely make out what our friends were saying. For real. I felt I was a sales training meeting when we would take over a restaurant. We arrived at 5:30 for an early dinner, and didn't get out until 3 hours later at 8:30. Gak. Food was good. I had mussels in a spicy sauce and it was pretty good. The fish and chips were good, and the cider vinegar was one of the dipping sauces. The fries ranged from over done to under done and more cool that hot. Probably an air fryer problem And the Baked Alaska was tasty but no showy flame show at table which, to me, is an essential part of the dish. Service was friendly. I think the back of the house was the reason for a 1.5 hour meal turned out to be double that. Maybe they need to take a look at what Baseball is doing to speed up the games. This was a "meet half way" with our friends from the Peninsula. If we do this again I'd choose an Italian or seafood restaurant in downtown Sausalito. The ambience is nice... me and my girlfriend sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes we actually had to ask them for something to drink because we were so thirsty which was pretty rude being that there was three people behind the bar!! Including the manager! Which also had an attitude problem! I don't know if it's this area or what's going on, but nobody smiles or is friendly ! The food not good!!! my girlfriend had the chicken sandwich. It was gross. The soup not good no flavor the only thing that was good that we got was the fresh bread ..... They're way overpriced! This place was outstanding and worth a visit simply thanks to it's location and ambiance! The decor is such a cool vibe, with lots of wood, brass, and minimalistic art. It's in a historic army base at the foot of the golden gate so the scene is awesome. The food (for brunch) was fresh and tasty, with an array of options from salmon tartine to eggs Benedict to juevos rancheros. The cocktails were also fabulous. Everything was served beautifully and our server was super kind. The service was a little slow though. The lounge and outdoor dining were the best places to sit since they were quieter and had great views. read more
