This is a great little restaurant in kind of a industrial building on the Sausalito waterfront by a big Marina filled with good looking boats. Restaurant is house in an old garage with rollup doors that are open on warm days lots of seating with some outside as well. I kind of somewhat classic French menu with daily specials good wine list and friendly helpful staff stopped in for a glass of wine and appetizer on week light and even though it was not a lot of wine or food we were still treated well for the amount of food we ordered.
We are so grateful for the hospitality of the Le Garage Team for hosting our 10 Year Office Anniversary! They are local family owned gem that delivered a wonderful and memorable experience for us and our Team. I can't recommend them enough. We reserved their private patio space and were given freedom to decorate as we wish, customize our menu/drinks, bring in a cake and given full reign to make it our own for the evening. Not many places will do that for you. Communication to plan our event was via email, occasionally over the phone and the owners Gloria and Bruno were always prompt, clear and very accommodating. Service was warm, attentive and organized. Our waiter, David was full of life, humor and charisma and made our evening even more fun! The food was exceptional with a variety of options. If you want more or less of something, they are happy to work with you. We ordered everything from oysters to caviar, steak, duck, chicken...it was all amazing. They even accommodated the kids at our event with cute little bento boxes. Ambiance speaks for itself. It's a waterfront restaurant so it looks beautiful during the day and evening with views of the bay, boats, lights and stars above. It's a great backdrop for photos before and after dinner. The evening of our dinner it was raining but with the setup of the patio space it only added to the cozy, charming feel. And on a very important side note, they were so gracious in letting our party wind down and end a little later rather than end it abruptly at our scheduled end-time. Or they didn't get bothered if dinner started later because of our speeches. That element of hospitality and care for our overall experience was priceless. We may not have been in France, but it was definitely giving flexible, fun, late night vibes. Again, can't recommend them enough! Thank you Le Garage for making our event so special and memorable!
Wanted somewhere special, somewhere with some personal history, for a friend's birthday. Weather cooperated and couldn't have been better, which helped to relieve a bit of a wait. To be fair, we arrived quite early and were seated close to reservation time. Server was great but some of the collateral folks were a bit less than welcoming, but sunshine and good vibes won the day. Food was very good - my omelette interesting and friend raved about steak and eggs. Loud, a bit chaotic, but excellent choice on a sunny Saturday.
found this gem in Sausalito with ecstatic views. you gave it a try and it didn't disappoint. It has a variety of options and I'm craving oysters seafood at the time so we ordered and the rose spritz is refreshing. Service could be better, but the French ones are nicer.
I went to Le Garage with my wife and mother-in-law. I had a great experience the ambiance is very nice and the wait staff is great. This is a great restaurant to stop at if you're enjoying Sausalito. Food was also very good! I also got a lemonade and it a was actually really really good, I also thoroughly enjoyed their mussels!!
Best brunch! The chickpea fries are delectable. The omelettes perfect and the green beans divine. Even the rusty bread was delicious. On the water surrounded by Marin's maritime community. Can't wait to come back for dinner. Great friendly service. I love this place.
Fun, creative, solid. If you're looking for something different in our particular about good food and good service, Le Garage could be your option. I've eaten there several times and I've enjoyed the food and service and I'm always put into a good mood with the creative ambience. Take a chance on Le Garage. You won't be disappointed.
Loved this place. We walked in with no reservation ~ party of three ~ and they were so welcoming. Our server, Miguel, was excellent: friendly, attentive, and just genuinely great overall service. The food was spectacular, and with the beautiful weather the whole vibe felt perfect. Relaxed, lively, and exactly the kind of spot you want for a long brunch. My brunch cocktail was delicious ~ super fresh and so easy to sip while enjoying the waterfront. Highly recommend. Would absolutely go back. 5/5 all around
First timer here. Read on if you're curious about my experience! Arrived at 11:30 AM on a Friday. Parking can be a bit tricky since most of the spots are permit-only. Can be confusing for first time visitors. Make sure to park in the designated "Le Garage" areas. They're clearly marked. Tourist trap or local spot? Honestly, I'm not sure, but from my "eavesdropping" experience, it seemed like there were a good number of locals so that's a good sign. Hehe. When I walked in, the staff asked if I had a reservation, which I didn't. I was surprised since the place was about 90% empty. But by noon, it was packed so I guess reservations do get important as it gets busier. The workers are kind but be aware that with every order, they'll ask if you'd like things like water or extra items without mentioning that they come with an added cost. Only regulars would probably know about the upcharges. Example: the first question they ask is whether you'd prefer still or sparkling water, but they don't say that "sparkling water" is an extra charge. Also, make sure you're coming at the right time. They have different menus for lunch, happy hour and dinner. Each varies in terms of prices and availability. I ordered the Moules Marinieres (Mussels) ($22) - 9/10. The mussels were delicious and the portion size was big enough to share as a snack for two. The mussels themselves were small so keep that in mind. I was also surprised that it didn't come with bread like most French inspired places do. The waiter did ask if we wanted bread, and I'm pretty sure there would've been an additional charge for it. Transparency would've been nice here.
Service is phenomenal, enjoyed our service. The food was great, the right portion to finish on site. Outside seating allows pets and the views are spectacular of the bay. Parking can be tough but there is valet.
My friend and I decided to try this French red for breakfast. It's in the marina next to the water so you have a view if you choose. The waitress we had was great as well. I ordered the avocado toast which came with a side salad. Unfortunately, the side salad was so much better than the avocado toast. There wasn't much flavor to it so I doused it with salt. If I come again, I would try a different item on their menu u.
Came here on a Saturday morning most recently. Got seated right away inside but they also have some tables outside. I ordered the pork belly Benedict and was amazing I like the potato's instead of an English muffin. It didn't feel so heavy. The pork was tender and flavorful and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The salad was beautiful, fresh, and enjoyed the dressing. Everything was well balanced and felt like a perfect portion. Definitely will come back and always enjoy brunch here!
What a great way to end a day of kayaking The Moules & Clams: Basque was perfection. Aromatic, tender and very generous. The broth was so savory with just the right balance of brine. I was tempted to pick up the bowl but luckily I had fries to soak it all up. The champagne was the cherry on top... over all sublime. Service was also flawless.

My family and I visited Muir beach today with our pup for the first time today. After a beautiful beach day we searched up dog friendly restaurants nearby and found Le Garage. My sister was cold and really didn't want to have to sit outdoors so we almost opted for to go food, but ultimately chose to dine anyways, and I'm so glad we did. I'll start by saying EVERYTHING was incredible. From the food down to the service we received. All of the staff we interacted with during our time there were very kind and attentive. For starters, when we arrived, I told our waitress we had a dog and she directed us to a table on their "indoor patio ", so we we're basically sat indoors, which was really nice. We weren't cold at all, and had we been, it looked like they had overhead heaters! We ordered their bread service, the warm trout dip, truffle fries, steak & frites, the burger, mussels/clams, the chocolate tart and creme brûlée. It was all delicious. While eating our appetizers, our poor pup got sick and threw up under the table :( we tried to discreetly clean it and felt really embarrassed. Entrées came out a few minutes later, and while eating our entrées, it happened a second time. At that point, we were ready to ask for the food to go, because we were feeling so thoroughly embarrassed. As I started cleaning the vomit a second time, our kind waitress came over and told me she would take care of it. I apologized repeatedly, and we felt sooo bad. She was so kind, and gracious towards us, telling us it was okay. I never got her name, but I wanted to let her know just how much we really appreciated her assistance and for not making us feel worse about what had happened. The way she handled the situation, was the epitome of dog friendly service. I'm not sure why our pup was so sick at the restaurant. My guess is he may have swallowed some water while playing at the beach. I just really wanted to express my gratitude for you all allowing us to enjoy a nice meal and continuously treating us kindly and respectfully after our poor boy got sick in your restaurant. pain perdu and the super thin fries that came with the clams were the highlights of my meal. everything else i'd probably pass. oysters were not the freshest i've had for the price, omelet itself was yummy but i didn't really like the lamb sausage in it, ordinary croque madame sandwich / clams / mimosas. they have valet for $5, and the staff was all kind. we came on a saturday morning and called 30 min before our eta to make sure there was no wait. really nice vibes by the water and docks in sausalito, but nothing special about the food read more

Came here for a weekend brunch. It wasn't as busy as I expected it to me considering all of the reviews and it being a weekend. Crudo de truite to share was fresh. It seemed like a very locally sourced dish. There was umami, acidity, and the balance of everything was nice. For my main, I had the moules marinere. The mussels okay. They could've been cleaned better because some of them still had bits of sand. There was a lot given though. Service was a little slow despite the restaurant not being super busy. If you're in the area, it's a decent place for a meal. However, I would not come out of my way for it. read more

This is a great spot by the water for authentic French food. We visited on a holiday weekend without a reservation, and luckily the staff was very accommodating and made room for us. Service was exceptional. We ordered the escargots, brioche croque madame, bouillabaisse, moules marinière, and frites. There was a bit of a wait for food due to the kitchen's capacity, but the wait was worth it. Everything was delicious! This was the best French food I've had since my last trip to France. The vibes were also very French. In fact, I heard more French being spoken than English here. read more

Very welcoming once you enter. Service was awesome! Very personable and attentive throughout our meal. Food was delicious, seasoned just right and arrived hot and fresh! We had escargot, steamed clams & mussels and an opened face ham/cheese sandwich. We took our time eating and they never rushed us and always checked on our table regularly. My first time here and I will be back! It's a short drive from SF and on a nice day you can enjoy outdoor seating as well. Great experience all around! read more
Seafood is FRESH! We ordered the Escargots Beurre Maître-d'Hôtel, Moules Marinières, Plateau d'Huítres and all of them went above and beyond our expectations! What we ate: Escargots Beurre Maître-d'Hôtel - Perfectly garlic-y! Everyone at the table had theirs, so we had to order a second round. The bread that was served with it was a perfect addition to scoop up the remaining sauce. Moules Marinières (Mussels with white wine) - The best dish to have on a chilly day in the bay! The warm white wine sauce was delicious and it was great to dip our bread in as well. Plateau d'Huítres (Oysters) - FRESH!! Tartare de Boeuf (Beef Tartare) - Our first time having beef tartare, but it exceeded our expectations from all of the youtube videos we had watched of food reviewers consuming it! The dish is super rich and has a delicate texture. Other notable mentions were the Cassoulet (Duck Confit) and the Steelhead (white fish). The Duck Confit was tasty, but the Steelhead, was just okay. Maybe I was looking forward to something a little more flavorful, as the fish did not absorb as much flavor, and was primarily carried by the sauce. Aside from the food, we experienced top-notch service, which was very quick and tentative. We had booked a reservation prior to coming and we actually arrived 20 minutes before our time slot, but they were able to seat us immediately. The food came out in a very timely fashion and we finished our meal without rush but what felt like a very short time. People brought their dogs to sit with them at the outdoor seating area, so I would assume that the restaurant is dog friendly! The restaurant is cleverly named since it was literally located within a garage with big garage doors with wide window panes, overlooking the marina. read more
I recently visited Le Garage with high expectations as I've visited this a handful of times. While the service was good, the food was a mixed bag. I ordered the burger, which was cooked fine but it lacked seasoning and was lack luster. I can't believe the fries were bland too! The salmon galette was also under-seasoned, and the flavors didn't quite come together. BUT, the chickpea fries were a game-changer! Crispy on the outside, soft tofu like texture on the inside, flavorful, and addictive. If you're a fan of chickpeas, you owe it to yourself to try these. Sadly we won't be coming here as a first choice in Sausalito anymore but it was a good run. read more

As a french man, I felt like at home. The food was beautiful. I had the bouillabaisse, it was amazing, perfect flavors, nicely filled with seafood. For desert the crème brûlée was perfectly crafted and the tarte tatin was divine ! read more

Food and service are both excellent. Beautiful views. The patio is dog-friendly. I hadn't specifically reserved an outdoor table but the maître d' was extremely helpful finding us a spot where we could bring our dog. read more

Came here for lunch as it was nearby, so glad I did! The french music playing in the restaurant was so fun! The salmon I ordered was so good it really hit the spot. Employees were all so nice and the view nearby is unbeatable. So glad I discovered this place, i'll be back soon! read more

Not a busy day, lots of parking. The greeter was nice. When we sat down, we were told they were out of French toast. It's brunch so that was weird. No butter or jam for our toast. My friend's steak was under cooked. It had to go back to the kitchen. My salad had wilted leaves. The croquet madame said it came with peach jam. They said it was cooked with peach jam. We couldn't taste any peach. The pork belly was undercooked and not crispy too fatty. Service seems lacking. This is a great spot and the views are nice. Overall food was good, I was hungry. read more
