Kid's Cheese Pizza is an adult size one.
Slava C.

Poggio has a genuinely authentic Italian feel the moment you walk in. The layout leans traditional, with classic seating and a warm, old-world atmosphere that fits perfectly with Sausalito's charm. The downtown boardwalk view is definitely a highlight - sitting by the windows overlooking the water adds a lot to the experience. Getting to the restroom upstairs going through the hotel with no direction, however, felt like solving a maze. Navigating the upper floors turned into a bit of an adventure on its own, not necessarily negative, but slightly confusing and unexpected. Food-wise, it was decent but not memorable. The pizza was okay, though slightly burned on the bottom, which affected both texture and flavor. Watch out for kids cheese pizza as it comes standard adult size one. For the price point, it felt a bit overpriced for what was delivered. The biggest drawback was the service. It was extremely delayed, and the wait between ordering and receiving food stretched far longer than it should have. Overall, it's a pleasant, character-filled spot with a great location, but the execution didn't quite match the setting. Three stars for strong atmosphere and views, average food, and service that needs improvement.

Came here for a company dinner. The restaurant is located right next to the bay. If it wasn't cold and raining you could definitely opt to eat at the outdoor patio seating for a better view. The inside of the restaurant was large and had a large wine selection wall behind the bar as soon as you enter. There is so much seating, but I would definitely say Sunday is the best time to go because it wasn't overly crowded. Definitely good for all group sizes. The service was amazing and so helpful with food suggestions and wine pairings. We had a bunch of appetizers: arancini, fegatini, & the sformatino to name a few. Everything was absolutely delicious but my favorite dish was the gnudi which is essentially spinach gnocchi with beef ragu. This is definitely a MUST try! That was probably the most pillowy soft gnocchi I've had in the Bay Area! The ragu paired with it very well too because it was so tender. For dessert I had the lemon mousse which was a nice refreshing dessert after a heavy meal and I loved how it had pistachios for a nice crunchy texture. And of course couldn't have an Italian meal without ending it with a nice cappuccino. I definitely want to come back here! Buonissimo!

Excellent food and service. Hands down. My family and I were getting hungry after strolling the charming streets of Sausalito...and we decided to come here to have our late lunch especially there is no wait. At first I didn't expect much, but everything changed after I started looking at the extensive menu and realized this place is serious about the food they serve. We ordered one pizza and a savory custard plus two more pasta dishes. As you can see in the pictures, the presentations were elegant; and the taste of the dishes were so delicious. I was very surprised and enjoyed the flavor and texture of the (cauliflower?) custard, and glad that our friendly waiter recommended it to us! We enjoyed the meal so much that we even had desserts here This place deserves all the attention; but I'm glad my family had an excellent meal without having to wait!

The servers were amazing and despite having no reservations, they were able to accommodate us on a busy night. We got the ravioli and a margarita pizza. Both dishes were decent but I've had better at other places. Pizza could be improved if the ingredients were more "melted" together. It felt like the cheese, sauce and basil were all separate items thrown on bread, there was no cohesiveness. The pasta was fine. It had different textures which was nice. The cheese (ricotta salata) that was placed on top was super good. I wish there was a way to get that cheese in every bite without having to cut the 4 already thin slices into smaller sections. We did get a side of bread that was honestly really good and flavorful.

Best mocha presentation ever - mahalo Molly, you're awesome!

Stopped here with Terry K while waiting for the next ferry back to the city - all the wait staff could not have been nicer, even though we just sat at the bar and had drinks. Terry discovered they have a 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand award, so I'll have to come again to try a meal!

Reservations for 3 on a busy Saturday night. Ambiance was great. Seated right away. You could tell the level of service because the server was great about checking in and letting us know the specials in advance and when he would return. Drinks and food were amazing especially the whipped vegetables and meatballs. Highly recommend the Gnudo and finished off with the Hazelnut Chocolate gelato. Bellissima! Would return.

The Poggio Scramble, with over medium eggs. This was a really good breakfast!

First, I love Sausalito! My handsome fiance and I enjoyed a really amazing breakfast, at Poggio Trattoria. I had the Poggio Scramble with eggs over med, with ham, potatoes, and tst..It was really delicious, my eggs were perfectly cooked..We shared some bacon also. It was delicious, and I need to say it was also cooked perfectly. My guy had the Tosti Mattino, it was a breakfast sando with baked eggs, prosciutto, and mozzarella. It looked good, he ate it all.. I had a latte, I cant remember what his coffee drink was, it was served in a martini glass, strong and cold..He really liked it..I'll show a Pic. Elias was our server and was very polite, and efficient. The restaurant is really nice inside and the seats were so comfy.. When we arrived we were greeted and told to sit wherever we like. I really loved our breakfast and the experience.. Very enjoyable.. I would like to come back and try dinner here next. I recommend giving it a try for sure.

Alessandro was our fabulous waitperson & very helpful. 6 of us @ 7:15 w/no rez on Saturday night & were accomodayed @ a lovely table. Food & drinks was excellent, save the Mezcal cocktail w/overpowering odor I'd skip opting instead w/replacement " Bees Knees"-Yum. Freshly made pasta amazing w/succulent quail & sauce. The seafood risotto was brilliant due to the sauce & shrimp, yet only 1 scallop, clams in shell plentiful. Mates had tasty pizza & we fInished w/Afogato! Yummm!

Had such a lovely lunch at Poggio Trattoria. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The grilled artichokes were done perfectly, and the burrata salad was so light and creamy--just the right start. The agnolotti with ricotta and mozzarella was hands down my favorite. Fresh pasta, light buttery sauce, spring veggies... every bite was amazing. The vibe here is great too--relaxed but still feels special. Perfect spot to sit back and enjoy good food, good conversation, and the beautiful surroundings. Service was on point the whole time, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Honestly, such a perfect afternoon. Can't wait to come back.

It was a slow day, and the food didn't seem all that complicated, so I accepted. Even with no staff, John cooked me a burger, gave me some chips, and handed it off to me. The couch was soft and pillows were plush. I was initially on the fence about accepting a free meal, but I am glad now that I was welcomed into such a vibrant atmosphere. The hospitality is a big plus. The crowds can get big in the evening, so I suggest making reservations ahead of time. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge is the big highlight as well as looking at the king fishers and blue herons. I wish they would add some aquariums. Would be a nice touch.

After reading some reviews here I knew it was a small place, so I was pleasantly surprised I could get a reservation during our trip to Sausalito. My husband and I had recently enjoyed some caviar for the first time but we are no experts, and I was a little worried that he might not get enough to eat. Turns out we both left perfectly satisfied. The place is tiny but so elegant. The bar is right in front of the kitchen that is sparkling clean and the chef prepares everything right there. There is a little high top table too and there was a couple there when we arrived, but afterward it was just us and we felt like royalty treated to our private dinner. We aren't caviar experts by any means but Yo did a great job explaining the different caviar flights including where it comes from - turns out the white sturgeon is farmed in the Sacramento Delta. We chose the Menage a Trois white sturgeon flight and it was so elegant. Three kinds of caviar plus all these homemade breads and crackers to enjoy it with. Every bite was amazing and I think we only left a couple of chives. Afterward we picked a couple of other dishes - the Chawanamushi and the Dungeness crab ravioli. Both were exquisite- in flavor and presentation. For dessert we had the sweet potato - Yo described it as a ganache - which I couldn't really picture but it was a very accurate description. It came with asian pear and was just the perfect finish to our meal. I had a couple glasses of French bubbly with my meal - normally I can't do more than one glass of champagne but it was crisp and yummy and paired well with everything we ate. When we were finished we got our check in a cute sturgeon pulp science fiction book. It was the final thoughtful detail to a wonderful evening. Chef Lance is a real artist and he really thinks through the ingredients and the flavors. Everything was so delicious and creative. I hope we get to come back again someday.

Pretty good selection of signature cocktails. The Liquid Gold was refreshing and not that strong. As for the food, we got the tartare, crab empanada, bungalow Benedict, and the phyllo crusted pork chop. The tartare was fresh and not fishy at all, but was missing some salt. Crab empanada was great. The cilantro avocado puree and aioli complemented the crab well. Eggs Benedict was standard. It was nice that it came with a model bakery English muffin, but nothing stood out. Pork chop was fried very well. Crispy exterior but soft inside. It was a pretty hefty cut as well. I expected more from the taverna fries but it seemed like standard frozen fries. The chimichurri sauce was good but had an aioli texture, which was weird but still good taste wise. To end, the butterscotch budino was fairly light and had a good sweetness. All in all, the lunch was still enjoyable especially with the view. I do wish there was that wow factor in some of the dishes to better match the price.
