Came here to celebrate my birthday for brunch with my girlfriends, and we did the prix fixe brunch menu. The view on the patio of the restaurant was gorgeous and recommended if the weather is nice. I got the thousand-layer potato with caviar (+$12) and the steak and eggs for my entrée. The thousand-layer potato with caviar was delicious and came in a generous serving size. The steak and eggs were also really good. We also ordered the peach galette for dessert, which was fresh and delicious. One thing I will say is that my friends mentioned it was my birthday, and the staff said they would bring something special out. They brought out a slice of red velvet cake, which was great, but we did end up getting charged for it on the bill. Menu feels like an attempt at Asian fusion, but the flavors are so lacking, especially compared to all the fusion restaurants in the Bay Area. Also, at that price point, it's underwhelming and crosses into disappointing. Beautiful presentation and buzz word ingredients but the food delivery falls short. Shrimp toast - this was so strange. The shrimp is fused on top of "toast" that tastes stale, oily, and spongey all at once. I hated the mouth feel of this one. Update - under new management and I have to say that as much as I enjoyed the earlier version of this restaurant, I felt "more at home" with both the menu and the staff and would now consider this as more than a fancy occasion restaurant for those living in the area. Portions are generous and well executed, I think you get what you pay for and I would return for the tuna tartare and the grilled asparagus as a light supper any day. My spouse enjoyed the steak frites and would order again and the burger and French dip looked good on neighboring tables. Went for a special occasion recently and had seen great things about this place. Turned out we went during the first week of new ownership after Michael Mina left to do a new endeavor. While a few of the dishes we had heard about were gone from the menu (Mina specialties) they had a solid listing of staples and I understand they're working on formally relaunching the restaurant with a bunch of new dishes. The vibe is great (5Star) - good seating with each table having something fun to look at, be it the bar or the ocean, and the music was groovy for lack of a better word. Food was 4 stars but the steak, tipped me back into 5 star category. We had the spicy tuna roll which appeased our sushi desire, the Caesar salad for some greens, and the Delmonico Ribeye with carrots. What a great way to spend a mid-week afternoon. Amazing views - great vibe / music - comfy sitting, with a laid back elegant ambiance. Our waiter was attentive - when asked he gave his favorites - and they did not disappoint. He was "Spot On"! Came for Mother's Day lunch with a party of 10 and was seated upstairs in the sunroom area. It was a really nice room, especially with the sun shining and the SF skyline outside of the window. Service was fairly attentive - there was only one slight hiccup with one entree not coming out until around 5 minutes after everyone's dish so we had to wait. Pretty good selection of signature cocktails. The Liquid Gold was refreshing and not that strong. As for the food, we got the tartare, crab empanada, bungalow Benedict, and the phyllo crusted pork chop. The tartare was fresh and not fishy at all, but was missing some salt. Crab empanada was great. The cilantro avocado puree and aioli complemented the crab well. Eggs Benedict was standard. It was nice that it came with a model bakery English muffin, but nothing stood out. Pork chop was fried very well. Crispy exterior but soft inside. It was a pretty hefty cut as well. I expected more from the taverna fries but it seemed like standard frozen fries. The chimichurri sauce was good but had an aioli texture, which was weird but still good taste wise. To end, the butterscotch budino was fairly light and had a good sweetness. All in all, the lunch was still enjoyable especially with the view. I can't comment on what it was like at the Bungalow Kitchen in the "before" days people keep referring to since this was my first visit. I thought it was really good and the service was excellent. We got the brunch price fix and three out of four things were excellent. One could have used some improvement . We each got a salad to start . My Caesar salad was a very large portion and one of the best I've had. My husband loved the tomato salad with burrata and pesto and olives. The grilled salmon with summer squash was also a generous size and very good. The Bungalow Benedict was somewhat disappointing-- crammed on s much too small plate and the hollandaise was cold. It wasn't awful but just not up to the standard it should be especially at that price. Home fries were hot and tasty. Nice looking place with a wall of windows looking out at the water. We had to ask to move our seats because the chairs were too low for the tables ( in our opinion) but our waiter was very nice and it was not a problem. We had a nice view of the water. We visited twice within one week. The first visit was for a business dinner in their private dining room, which comfortably seats 10 (12 if you squeeze). The room is lovely, and both the food and service were solid. We selected one of their prix fixe menus, which was reasonably priced for an all-inclusive dinner (alcohol not included), and overall it was a good experience. Based on that visit, we returned for a second meal, which unfortunately did not live up to the first. While the restaurant has a great view, it can only really be enjoyed if you're seated outside. The food was inconsistent: the butter lettuce salad was bland and came with very few pieces of hearts of palm, though the tuna tartare was excellent. The biggest disappointment was the Delmonico steak. It was served barely warm and covered in a demi-glace-style sauce that overpowered rather than complemented the meat. Since this was the main course, it significantly impacted the overall meal. The mushroom pasta was flavorful but served in a very small portion. One standout was the cheesecake brûlée, which our server recommended and which was excellent. If you're coming from outside Tiburon, it's a bit of a trek and parking is not free. Service was excellent on both visits, but the inconsistency between meals makes this a three-star experience overall. read more

My family and I greatly enjoyed dining here to celebrate my birthday during brunch last Sunday. The music- forward ambience was unique and inviting. The soundtrack was perfect! We loved the full bar and the fact that they had the Super Bowl on! Views of the serene Bay were absolutely picturesque and the decor/seating was cushy and inviting. It is a bit on the price your side however I believe the experience is absolutely worth it. We finished with a bottle of the NA white wine, a coffee, the chocolate cake. We started the night with the beef tartare roll, the tuna tartare, broccolini, and the 8 oz sirloin steak. The food was absolutely superb. The Manager Peter really appears to be on point. My dry aged bone in New York strip had real dry aged flavor. It was a little under seasoned and with no salt and pepper on the table I just ate it. My GF really enjoyed her filet. The one thing we both said was that both of our mains and both of our sides were served on the cool side. They were at the temperature that most meals are at when we are at the end. The corn side was served on the cob; ridiculous. JUST DON'T! The menu is small. All of the employees were instructed to tell EVERYONE that they just added 12 new items to the menu. Which means that they threw out Michael Mina's menu and replaced it with their own. I've been here once more for a work event a little over two years ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about the restaurant since then. Both of us are huge foodies and Michael Mina fans, so we were extra excited to have dinner here. From the very beginning service was top-tier. From the hostess to the bus boys to our server, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Our server provided excellent meal suggestions, two of which we ordered based off of her recommendation. Let's not forget about the ambience! The best way I can describe this restaurant is if Tommy Bahama had a hipster millennial kid who wanted to create a fine dining experience for the Bay Area. You get this beautiful elevated restaurant with mood lighting, and open air, right by the water and it is absolutely stunning. Whoever crafted the interior of this restaurant deserves a raise! My biggest regret was not taking photos of the inside of the restaurant because it's truly impeccable. We had a few cocktails at the bar before sitting down for dinner, sparkling wine, with our meal, the surf and turf (octopus, and chorizo with potatoes), tuna tartar (which is a featured item at his Michelin starred restaurant in San Francisco), the spinach and cheese puff pastry, and a fattoush salad. 3/5 stars -- Potential Without the Payoff Came out for Mother's Day with high hopes -- booked the patio specifically for the occasion, so when weather forced it closed, it wasn't the end of the world, but it did set the tone for a meal that kept promising more than it delivered. Service was warm and genuinely friendly, but noticeably sluggish for a special occasion dinner. The cocktail menu leans hard into "curated house creations," but the execution left little room for nuance -- the Mezcal Negroni was essentially just a glass of Mezcal wearing a Negroni costume. If the base spirit is going to be that forward, it needs to be intentional, not a shortcut. Appetizers were decent but felt almost apologetically small -- the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're building anticipation or just cutting costs. The mains told a similar story. Generous in size, sure, but each dish had at least one thing you couldn't ignore: the lobster pot pie needed more depth and richness to justify itself, the pork came out dry, the salmon's romesco skewed so sweet it lost all its savory backbone, and the hanger steak -- despite being listed as a featured cut -- was surprisingly undersized. The bones of something great are clearly here: a fun concept, a nice space, a staff that cares. But right now the kitchen isn't finishing its sentences. As locals, we were really hoping to find a new neighborhood spot with great food and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Four of us came in for Sunday brunch and ordered the fish and chips, Crab Louis, Caesar salad, meatballs, and a few other dishes. Unfortunately, while the staff was very friendly and the view is absolutely beautiful, the overall experience was disappointing. It took quite a while for someone to come over and take our order, and then we waited a long time for the food to arrive. Unfortunately, the wait was not rewarded with particularly good food. The Caesar salad was mushy, the French fries tasted like cardboard, and the fish and chips had a very heavy batter with dry fish. Overall, the quality and execution of the food felt quite mediocre. Hopefully, the kitchen can improve the quality of the food and the service can become more attentive and efficient. We had a reservation to sit outside but they weren't very busy so it seemed like it would have been fairly easy to get in without it. The decor and aesthetic of this place is very intimate but inviting. Great place for any occasion. They also have an upstairs area where you can host parties that overlooks the Bay! Apps: Jalapeño Lobster Toast 5/5 when I tried this dish it tasted like a crispy sushi Roll. Very nice flavor and would definitely recommend. Warm parked House Rolls: 5/5 Another good app but then again how much can you mess up on bread? Loved the pepper honey it came with to spread onto bread. Entrees: whole Roasted Sumac Branzino 5/5 Cooked to perfection loved the crispy skin. This fish was also very flavorful. Side San Francisco Garlic Noodles 3/5 to go along with my fish I decided to try their Garlic Noodles. They were ok, a little on the salty side and were lacking a bit on the garlic. Waygu Burger: 5/5 This dish isn't on their dinner menu but my friend wanted something more simple and asked if they had a burger. To our surprise the waitress said they could make one. It was a Good standard Waygu burger that came with all the fixings and side of fries. My friend said she enjoyed it. At the end of the meal, we were stuffed and decided to skip dessert. Overall, this is a Great place to dine for any occasion. I love the view of the Bay and the food is good. I would definitely say this is more of a special occasion place due to its pricy menu. But it surely won't disappoint if you decided to dine here on a whim on nice hot day! read more

We've been here a few times for brunch, and always have a wonderful time. First, the view is everything. Sitting on the patio, on a clear morning, looking out over the bay - nothing is better than that. Second, the food is delicious. The last time we were here for brunch, we got the chicken wings and a pastry basket, and I had the yogurt bowl and lobster pot pie. Presentation is lovely. 10/10 would visit again. read more

Wonderful day in Tiburon! Sometimes when places look really pretty, the good is meh - but the food at Bungalow was delicious!!! The $49 brunch was perfect - i got the avacado toast and the burger - both were so yum! It was my husband's birthday and the server got us a free round of wine! The chocolate cake was out of the world, and I'm so happy with how our celebration was! We took the ferry from the city, and it was a great Saturday out! Highly recommend this Bay Area adventure :) read more

left the dining selection decision to my friends who live in the North Bay area and The Bungalow Kitchen in Tiburon was the choice! And what a great choice. 5th star for the ambiance and view from the patio looking out into the SFO Bay Front of the house provided excellent service from check in to departure. Our server Carlos was a hoot!!! Best part? The five of us got to enjoy great Mina food in great company of each other! You have a few choices and that is the pre fixe menu (currently $49 and possibly add on $$ depending on what you select) OR, you can order separate dishes ala carte. Either way= food is excellent. Do not overlook their daily specials! Can't address any adult beverage as our brunch was accompanied by a bottle of champagne instead of the crafted beverages. I will definitely attempt dining there again. I love everything about Michael Mina; his food and presentation is exquisite! read more

Though I've been to many of his restaurants, I've never been a big fan of Michael Mina. I am however, most definitively, a fan of the spot where this one is located. With its waterside location and full-on view of the sparkling SF bay, an outside table at brunch was perfection. Meals here don't come cheap. Brunch (appetizer + entree) runs $49, which can almost be justified given a) Michael Mina's reputation and b) that location. That buys you your choice of appetizer and entree but they also wheel around an almost irresistible oyster cart which I was able to forego only by mentally calculating what the bill would've been had I indulged. Then again, go big or go home. Still, this was an absolutely delightful brunch location on a sunny day with 4 others. The staff seemed to have understood the assignment. When I'd mentioned, in my reservation, that several in the group were visiting here from Hawaii I arrived to find they'd reserved for us the most optimal outdoor table. The view alone might've been worth $20 per person. About halfway through a bottle of champagne and our meal (Jalapeño Lobster Toast + Shakshuka for me) the equivalent of someone ripping the needle across a LP occurred. Suddenly, music from upstairs was blasting at a volume that completely obliterated the ambiance. We all sat in a state of semi-paralysis as the air went out of us. What had been a stellar ambiance changed to a completely unwelcome one and even though I was told that "Michael Mina likes loud music", after a couple of requests the staff managed to get the music volume turned down to a reasonable volume, even coming back by my table to ask whether it was now acceptable. For a restaurant of this caliber though? This should never have happened and if it hadn't been dealt with, this review would've been a single star. When splurging on a place as nice as this, I expect excellence. In the end, I enjoyed my food and the location but if I were to return for brunch (or any meal, actually) I'd first confirm that there would not be music playing upstairs (which is also part of Bungalow Kitchen). read more

Came here for brunch and would 100% come again! This restaurant can be a little hard to find, but it is located right behind Caffe Acri on the water side (right where the ferry drops off!). There is quiet cozy seating on the first floor with indoor and out door seating and more lively and bright seating on the second floor that is indoors with a retractable roof. Around 12pm-1pm the whole crew sings Sweet Caroline which is a fun tradition of there's and makes the brunch atmosphere much more lively! Staff were friendly, attentive, accommodating, and entertaining (with their little song and dance). The food was delicious! They have quite the assortment of bloody mary's but I do wish they had more mimosa options. The brunch menu is prefix with the choice of one appetizer and one main. The some dishes have a Middle Eastern flare which is a nice and unique touch to some brunch classics. I highly recommend the lobster pot pie. It is cooked perfectly and worth the up charge. The steak on the steak and eggs is tender and was cooked perfectly with a pleasantly unexpected smokey taste. The lobster toast was good but nothing spectacular, I recommend the pot pie instead. read more

My experience at the Bungalow was incredibly disappointing at the start, but I will say the AGM Peter shared some great insight with me after he heard about my experience. We had a productive conversation about what service should be and can be. And once they get the team more settled, I'll come back and see how the experience changes. A solo diner I sat at a table by the door. It was fine. The view is beautiful. And I was excited to have a menu with more than a salad as the gluten free option. I ordered from the $50 2 course prix fix menu. After I was sat, the waiter missed my glass pouring the water and poured it on the table. He was adjusting a chair for my handbag which I appreciated, but failed to see or clean the puddle on my table where my plate was to go. After ordering coffee, the waitress brought it out in a cup cracked from rim to base. And set it down with no mind or notice. I had to tell her it was broken and requested a cup that wasn't broken. My parfait arrived, it looked beautiful. Hurriedly setting it down, turning his back to me and quickly assisting another table the waiter failed to notice I didn't have a spoon to eat my food with. Expecting steak as my next course I'm not eating a parfait with a fork and knife. Looking around I saw a cluster of three servers talking in a corner. My first server no where in sight. So I got up and walked inside to request a spoon so I could begin eating. The manager came out and spoke with me, and said he would address the service. Unfortunately the damage has been done. This is my first time visiting Tiburon, and I passed on recommendations to go to Sam's and Malibu Farm to come here. Deeply regretting that decision. As a solo diner I find we can be treated as after thoughts to a server. What they should consider is we have a voice, spending power, and in my case a love of dining out. read more

Definitely incredible setting, great location, special ambiance, and great staff. A traditional American / Seafood spot with some great choices, great bar, good staff, and breathtaking scenery. Casual yet luxurious. Michael Mina and staff did a great job with this place. You won't be disappointed. The view and setting makes the food even more delicious. read more
