Came for Mother's Day lunch with a party of 10 and was seated upstairs in the sunroom area. It was a really nice room, especially with the sun shining and the SF skyline outside of the window. Service was fairly attentive - there was only one slight hiccup with one entree not coming out until around 5 minutes after everyone's dish so we had to wait. Pretty good selection of signature cocktails. The Liquid Gold was refreshing and not that strong. As for the food, we got the tartare, crab empanada, bungalow Benedict, and the phyllo crusted pork chop. The tartare was fresh and not fishy at all, but was missing some salt. Crab empanada was great. The cilantro avocado puree and aioli complemented the crab well. Eggs Benedict was standard. It was nice that it came with a model bakery English muffin, but nothing stood out. Pork chop was fried very well. Crispy exterior but soft inside. It was a pretty hefty cut as well. I expected more from the taverna fries but it seemed like standard frozen fries. The chimichurri sauce was good but had an aioli texture, which was weird but still good taste wise. To end, the butterscotch budino was fairly light and had a good sweetness. All in all, the lunch was still enjoyable especially with the view. 3/5 stars -- Potential Without the Payoff Came out for Mother's Day with high hopes -- booked the patio specifically for the occasion, so when weather forced it closed, it wasn't the end of the world, but it did set the tone for a meal that kept promising more than it delivered. Service was warm and genuinely friendly, but noticeably sluggish for a special occasion dinner. The cocktail menu leans hard into "curated house creations," but the execution left little room for nuance -- the Mezcal Negroni was essentially just a glass of Mezcal wearing a Negroni costume. If the base spirit is going to be that forward, it needs to be intentional, not a shortcut. Appetizers were decent but felt almost apologetically small -- the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're building anticipation or just cutting costs. The mains told a similar story. Generous in size, sure, but each dish had at least one thing you couldn't ignore: the lobster pot pie needed more depth and richness to justify itself, the pork came out dry, the salmon's romesco skewed so sweet it lost all its savory backbone, and the hanger steak -- despite being listed as a featured cut -- was surprisingly undersized. The bones of something great are clearly here: a fun concept, a nice space, a staff that cares. But right now the kitchen isn't finishing its sentences. We visited twice within one week. The first visit was for a business dinner in their private dining room, which comfortably seats 10 (12 if you squeeze). The room is lovely, and both the food and service were solid. We selected one of their prix fixe menus, which was reasonably priced for an all-inclusive dinner (alcohol not included), and overall it was a good experience. Based on that visit, we returned for a second meal, which unfortunately did not live up to the first. While the restaurant has a great view, it can only really be enjoyed if you're seated outside. The food was inconsistent: the butter lettuce salad was bland and came with very few pieces of hearts of palm, though the tuna tartare was excellent. The biggest disappointment was the Delmonico steak. It was served barely warm and covered in a demi-glace-style sauce that overpowered rather than complemented the meat. Since this was the main course, it significantly impacted the overall meal. The mushroom pasta was flavorful but served in a very small portion. One standout was the cheesecake brûlée, which our server recommended and which was excellent. If you're coming from outside Tiburon, it's a bit of a trek and parking is not free. My family and I greatly enjoyed dining here to celebrate my birthday during brunch last Sunday. The music- forward ambience was unique and inviting. The soundtrack was perfect! We loved the full bar and the fact that they had the Super Bowl on! Views of the serene Bay were absolutely picturesque and the decor/seating was cushy and inviting. Our waiter was excellent and knowledgeable and we didn't have one bad dish! HIDDEN HAVEN The bungalow kitchen was a stunning restaurant that will absolutely be going back to again. I'm also so thankful that their food matches the location. It is a bit on the price your side however I believe the experience is absolutely worth it. We finished with a bottle of the NA white wine, a coffee, the chocolate cake. We started the night with the beef tartare roll, the tuna tartare, broccolini, and the 8 oz sirloin steak. The food was absolutely superb. I will say the broccoli was delicious but $20 for broccolini is just kind of a lot and the tuna tartar roll was small but it was honestly absolutely delicious and would get again. The filet mignon was delicious, and the meat was extremely soft and delicious. I've come across this place a few times on Social Media. Due to it being a really nice day in SF/Marin area. I decided to finally give this place a try. I made a same day reservation and was lucky enough to snag a table for 2ppl at 5pm on a Saturday. Lots of seafood options but what stuck out to me was how outrageous the cost of Lobster pot pie was 130 for single serving pot pie seemed criminal. The decor and aesthetic of this place is very intimate but inviting. Great place for any occasion. They also have an upstairs area where you can host parties that overlooks the Bay! Drink: Electric Feel 5/5 that contains Cinnamon-Infused Grey Goose Vodka, Green Chartreuse, Banana, Matcha, Coconut milk. Very good drink and for how small this was they made sure to go heavy on alcohol which I liked. It tastes kinda like a spike cinnamon Matcha. Side San Francisco Garlic Noodles 3/5 to go along with my fish I decided to try their Garlic Noodles. They were ok, a little on the salty side and were lacking a bit on the garlic. Waygu Burger: 5/5 This dish isn't on their dinner menu but my friend wanted something more simple and asked if they had a burger. To our surprise the waitress said they could make one. It was a Good standard Waygu burger that came with all the fixings and side of fries. My friend said she enjoyed it. At the end of the meal, we were stuffed and decided to skip dessert. I expected a busy, upscale dining experience with a busy dining room and familiar menu compared to other places like Bourbon Steak. As expected everything I had was on point. Service was good. Last night, my best friend and I dined at this restaurant for her 32nd birthday. I've been here once more for a work event a little over two years ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about the restaurant since then. Both of us are huge foodies and Michael Mina fans, so we were extra excited to have dinner here. From the very beginning service was top-tier. From the hostess to the bus boys to our server, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Our server provided excellent meal suggestions, two of which we ordered based off of her recommendation. Let's not forget about the ambience! The best way I can describe this restaurant is if Tommy Bahama had a hipster millennial kid who wanted to create a fine dining experience for the Bay Area. You get this beautiful elevated restaurant with mood lighting, and open air, right by the water and it is absolutely stunning. Whoever crafted the interior of this restaurant deserves a raise! My biggest regret was not taking photos of the inside of the restaurant because it's truly impeccable. We had a few cocktails at the bar before sitting down for dinner, sparkling wine, with our meal, the surf and turf (octopus, and chorizo with potatoes), tuna tartar (which is a featured item at his Michelin starred restaurant in San Francisco), the spinach and cheese puff pastry, and a fattoush salad. The service throughout the meal was insanely slow (bunch took us almost 2 hours, not because WE wanted to linger). It was 20+ minutes before we had our order taken and the food took forever to come out. When it did, it was...meh. We got oysters and they were great (but how do you even mess those up?) but the Benedict with Lox and the fish was grey and basically overcooked (that is not lox, mister!). The steak and eggs was way, way over done (ordered it medium, it came very well done) and even the kids meal was blah (I took a bite of my kids burger and it was totally dry, no juiciness). The Bungalow Kitchen restaurant is situated right in the main downtown area of Tiburon on the wharf. We watched the last ferry drop off its passengers at 6pm ish. Service was exceptional! We had a reservation to sit outside but they weren't very busy so it seemed like it would have been fairly easy to get in without it. There wasn't any nearby street parking so we parked in the set lot in downtown. I got the avocado toast and cheeseburger along with the zero proof Bloody Mary. Though I've been to many of his restaurants, I've never been a big fan of Michael Mina. I am however, most definitively, a fan of the spot where this one is located. With its waterside location and full-on view of the sparkling SF bay, an outside table at brunch was perfection. Meals here don't come cheap. Brunch (appetizer + entree) runs $49, which can almost be justified given a) Michael Mina's reputation and b) that location. That buys you your choice of appetizer and entree but they also wheel around an almost irresistible oyster cart which I was able to forego only by mentally calculating what the bill would've been had I indulged. Then again, go big or go home. Still, this was an absolutely delightful brunch location on a sunny day with 4 others. The staff seemed to have understood the assignment. When I'd mentioned, in my reservation, that several in the group were visiting here from Hawaii I arrived to find they'd reserved for us the most optimal outdoor table. The view alone might've been worth $20 per person. About halfway through a bottle of champagne and our meal (Jalapeño Lobster Toast + Shakshuka for me) the equivalent of someone ripping the needle across a LP occurred. Suddenly, music from upstairs was blasting at a volume that completely obliterated the ambiance. We all sat in a state of semi-paralysis as the air went out of us. What had been a stellar ambiance changed to a completely unwelcome one and even though I was told that "Michael Mina likes loud music", after a couple of requests the staff managed to get the music volume turned down to a reasonable volume, even coming back by my table to ask whether it was now acceptable. For a restaurant of this caliber though? This should never have happened and if it hadn't been dealt with, this review would've been a single star. When splurging on a place as nice as this, I expect excellence. In the end, I enjoyed my food and the location but if I were to return for brunch (or any meal, actually) I'd first confirm that there would not be music playing upstairs (which is also part of Bungalow Kitchen). read more

Came here for brunch and would 100% come again! This restaurant can be a little hard to find, but it is located right behind Caffe Acri on the water side (right where the ferry drops off!). There is quiet cozy seating on the first floor with indoor and out door seating and more lively and bright seating on the second floor that is indoors with a retractable roof. Around 12pm-1pm the whole crew sings Sweet Caroline which is a fun tradition of there's and makes the brunch atmosphere much more lively! Staff were friendly, attentive, accommodating, and entertaining (with their little song and dance). The food was delicious! They have quite the assortment of bloody mary's but I do wish they had more mimosa options. The brunch menu is prefix with the choice of one appetizer and one main. The some dishes have a Middle Eastern flare which is a nice and unique touch to some brunch classics. I highly recommend the lobster pot pie. It is cooked perfectly and worth the up charge. The steak on the steak and eggs is tender and was cooked perfectly with a pleasantly unexpected smokey taste. Probably the worst valentines diner I've ver had. It took an hour to get seated after our reservation time. It was an hour before we could place an order once seated and even get water. Then it took another 30 min to get the first course and then it took 30 min after each course was done to bring the next course. Sure if everyone is ordering custom dishes then maybe there's some leeway. But the fact that it was a set menu where everyone in the restaurant ate the same exact thing with the only choice being is if you wanted one or two add one. Is absolutely insane. On top of all of that the food literally tasted like sweat you can taste the sweat of the kitchen staff in the food. The restaurant was so poorly mismanaged that at one point there was close to 24 people in the lobby waiting to be seated and both bars where so full you felt like you where in the nightclub with people from the bar spilling over and standing above dinning tables. 10/10 worst exp ever would not recommend. My mom and I celebrated our birthdays here, and we came with a reservation along with our family. The receptionist was very nice and welcoming--they even gave us a birthday card, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The ambiance of the place is cute, cozy, and comfortable. We ordered their pasta dishes, which were delicious, well-seasoned, and clearly made with fresh, handmade pasta. You can really taste the difference compared to store‑bought. The only downside for us was the price. The pasta dishes range from $49 to $67, which feels quite expensive for a pasta dish. We didn't order dessert, but the staff surprised us with a canelé for our birthdays, which we truly appreciated. The servers were all very kind and attentive. The service was solid, and the key lime pie was great. Outside of that, everything was a massive disappointment. I had a steak, and my wife had the branzino. Both were meh. I had a bite of my daughter's chicken tenders and some of her fries, and I wish ordered that instead. The branzino fairly bland, and my steak, while cooked to the proper temp, was also underseasoned with a meh sauce and sad mini-baked potato. We sat of the patio on the main floor. The setup was relatively nice, but there isn't much of a view. You're mostly looking at a few parked boats and a ferry stop. If this place wasn't way overpriced for the level of food served, I'd give it two stars, but they've priced their menu like the food is actually worth making this a destination restaurant. Don't waste your money here. I can assure you we will not be coming back. If you really want a good view with significantly better food, head a few doors over to Malibu Farms. read more

My wife surprised me with an early Father's Day dinner, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We made the two-hour drive from Tracy to Tiburon, and it was totally worth it. The town itself is absolutely charming--ocean breeze, beachside vibes, and that chill, laid-back energy that makes you instantly relax. We went all-in with the Chef's Secret Sushi Menu, which was a beautiful experience in itself. In total, we had around 17 different bites, mostly nigiri, and every single one was phenomenal. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite--each course was perfectly crafted and delicious in its own way. A true testament to the chef's skill. Getting there was a bit of a scramble--we weren't sure if our reservation would hold--but the host and front desk were incredibly accommodating, and we were seated right on time. Best of all, we were placed by the window with an incredible ocean view. From that moment on, it was full-on relaxation mode. I visited Bungalow Kitchen this past Saturday with a few of my friends. First and foremost, the ambience of this restaurant is amazing. It's right off the water and we sat on the heated patio with views of the city. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and escorted to our seats. Our server was so kind and very knowledgeable of the menu. She was also very patient as two of our party members were running behind. Now for the food and drinks, I ordered an Espresso Martini with Baileys and it just didn't do it for me. I usually have a minimum of two martinis, but I stopped at one. The crab empanadas were absolutely amazing. Definitely a must try. We also ordered the rolls which were pretty good and the Caesar salad was amazing as well. I ordered the ribeye with the truffle mashed potatoes and that was top-tier. I could see ordering that again and again. The steak was perfectly cooked. Everyone ordered different things and they loved them and then we collectively ordered the Lobster Popeye and when I tell you, it changed the vibe of the table believe me. We were completely underwhelmed. The presentation left a lot to be desired and so did the dish. It reminded me of Campbell's tomato soup, with a lobster in it. It didn't have a lot of vegetables in it or a lot of flavor to it. It was not at all worth the $130 price tag it came with. The rest of the table did not want to order dessert after having the pot pie, but I went ahead and ordered the crème brûlée cheesecake. I wasn't a complete fan but I encouraged everyone to try it. It wasn't horrible. It just had a slightly gritty taste to it. And that wasn't due to the crème brûlée. That was the actual cheesecake. Overall give this place four stars because although I didn't enjoy the Lobster Pot pie or the cheesecake, the majority of the food was really really good, the service was amazing and at the end of it all it was good company and great atmosphere. read more

Reserve a spot here for my friend's BD and love it! Two of us got there too early for our reservation so we planned to hang out at the bar first.... Surprisingly they were able to seat us at our lovely table! Our table was outside facing the water and had such a stunning view:) we had couple drinks and appetizers before our friends arrived. All of our food and drink were so tasty excepting lobster pot pie. The size of lobster was so generous but the taste of it was just not for us......... well at least we tried it! Presentation was over the top. I saw they use sanitary wipe to clean tables instead of towels......which was so impressive Why not 5 stars? We felt like our waiter was kinda too pushy. Food was just served and he came to check on us already, we didn't even try yet........ and kept coming back over and over..... little too much. Interior was so cute and felt so welcome and cozy....love it. Parking can be challenging but there is paid parking spot not too far(we were early so we turned around about 5 times and finally found on street parking. read more

It was an excellent dinner, indeed! My husband and I really enjoyed each item we had. I was not t able to take photos of our salads, though. We each had the Bungalow Kitchen's generous servings of their Ceasar Salad, tossed in their version of Ceasar dressing, delightfully lemony, topped with ground croutons! I had the Seafood Boil for my entrée, and my husband had the Free Range Chicken with some side of pasta. I did take photos of those! They were absolutely delicious! For dessert, we devoured a shareable portion of the Chocolate Cake. All in all, it was truly a more than satisfying evening! Oh, I must mention that the lovely hostesses at the front of the restaurant were quite welcoming and warm, our server, Angel was attentive and rendered such wonderful service! Bungalow kitchen is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant. The dining room has an amazing view of the bay and seating area is gorgeous. We came for brunch which has options for a two course meal (app and main) or you can order off the sushi menu. I heard good things about the lobster pot pie and opted to splurge on it. It's an extra $85 dollar supplement. It is definitely something that should be shared as it is too heavy for one person to eat. The dish has a full main lobster served in a sauce pan with lobster bisque potatoes and shaved black truffle. It is very good and worth trying at least once. The other main we had was the steak and eggs. Steak was a bit too charged on the outside but the internal temp was a nice medium rare. For the appetizers we had the fried mushrooms and the butter leaf salad. But were great and would order them again. The pacing of the food was on the slow side as our total meal took two hours which was longer than I expected. All in all had a good time here and would come back. read more

Came by on Sunday to celebrate my mom's birthday and we had the best time! The ambiance was amazing -- we got there right at sunset, which made the whole experience even better. The staff was super friendly from the moment we arrived. Almost everyone, from the hostesses to our servers, wished my mom a happy birthday, and they even gave her a card signed by the team -- such a sweet touch! Our server was really knowledgeable and gave great recommendations when we couldn't decide what to order. All of the food was fantastic, but our favorites were the maitake tempura, garlic noodles, sea bass, and (surprisingly) the chicken breast. We also ordered a round of cocktails that tasted light at first, but definitely had a nice kick -- we were giggling all night!
