We did the ebike tour with Blazing Saddles and they gave us a coupon for free drinks with our food orders so we decided to go here for lunch. There place was packed but luckily we were able to find a high table for our party of 6. The view of the marina is nice and wish we found seating outside on their back patio for it. But we were a larger group and most of the seating out back were for parties of 2-4. You order your food first at the counter and then find your seat. Your orders will be delivered to your table. The menu is limited but everything we ordered was tasty. It was the weekend so it was busy and our food took awhile. Really liked the fried chicken sandwich and their truffle fries. While visiting Sausalito on a bike tour, I was looking for some lunch. My bike rental company, Blazing Saddles, had an offer for a free if I dined here so I said, So What? Why not! It's located right on the waterfront and is easy to find. There is free car and bike parking next to the building, Inside it is a counter service restaurant with a large open air but covered indoor dining area along with an outdoor area near the water too. I ordered the 1/2 rotisserie chicken plate that came with potatoes and salad for $20.50. After getting my self serve drink, I decided to sit outside in the shade and the food arrived less than 15 minutes later. Not only was it an attractive meal, it tasted pretty good too! Actually, I was surprised it was so good. The 1/2 bird was nice sized and tasty (4). The Yukon gold potatoes and wild arugula were excellent tasting with a lot of flavor! Some salsa verde was added to use for the chicken for dipping purposes. I enjoyed this meal and for California pricing it was a deal. I like the casual vibe of The Joinery and would recommend it to anyone looking for a casual and affordable meal while in town. I stopped here on a Sunday while biking from Ocean Beach to Sausalito, and it was the perfect place to take a break and grab some food. I ordered the roasted chicken, and it was really good! I especially loved how they roasted the chicken -- the skin was nicely browned and crispy, while the meat stayed juicy and flavorful. Patrons need to order food / drinks at the counter first and then look for a table . Which makes things kind of tricky. When I went, there were still a few empty tables. But I could see , people who arrived a bit later, had to wait around for tables to be vacated. Which spoils the experience a bit. They had a few vegetarian / vegan options. Had the Butternut squash hummus - Felt fresh, and was tasty, though didn't get a strong squash flavor Side of falafels - These were tasty and freshly made. We came here for lunch today. I'm the first person to post a photo of their falafel plate. I really love the marinated cauliflower but there were only four small pieces. The hummus was good but the falafels were small and there were only four of them. What I really disliked were the green olives with pits. They were insanely salty and there were a lot of them. I eat Mediterranean all the time and this platter was decent but I wouldn't order it again. Normally my husband orders the porchetta sandwich but today he decided to try the fried chicken sandwich. He enjoyed it but it was nowhere as good as the porchetta sandwich. The fried chicken sandwich is mildly spicy, hardy but bland. The service is what made it not get 5 stars. I asked the person working the drinks if I was in the right spot to get my drink. He said I didn't serve you at the cash register, so I wouldn't know. The location was a recommendation from a bike rental shop with a free beverage coupon. My group visited here because it was recommended and near the ferry so it's easy to get to after dinner. Order is with a cashier, and food is delivered to the table. We got our own water and utensils. The atmosphere was very casual. The food was good. We had a nice lunch here while in Sausalito. They are located right on the water. As stated on their webpage, the restaurant is a beer hall and rotisserie located on Sausalito's waterfront, known for its communal atmosphere and craft beer selections. When we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted. We studies the menu you on the wall before ordering. You order at the counter and then they give you a number to put on your table. When your food is ready, hey deliver it to your table. Both my husband and I ordered the 1/2 rotisserie chicken plate. You have a choice of a salsa verde or romanesco sauce to go with your chicken or pay an extra $1 for both sauces. I chose the both sauces and my husband chose the salsa verde. We also ordered a cup of the cream of asparagus soup, a side of cabbage and kale slaw and a straus creamery chocolate milkshake. The inside is spacious and has a lot of communal seating as well as smaller tables. They have seating on the deck by the water as well. We picked a table and enjoyed our view of the ocean while we waited for our food. Our food arrived hot and fresh. Everything looked so good. The cream of asparagus soup was my favorite of the whole meal. It tasted so good. Next time I'll opt for the bowl instead of the cup. The rotisserie chicken was hot and juicy. I'm guessing they give you the sauce because the chicken doesn't have much seasoning on it. I tried both sauces and didn't care for either one. The salsa verde did not taste good at all. It definitely didn't taste like any salsa verde I've had before. The romanesco sauce had no flavor. It was thick and pasty but tasted like nothing. I should have just added salt to my chicken. I ate the chicken regardless and it was good. It just needed some seasoning on it. Each chicken plate came with salad on the side, which was very good and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were amazing. It was quite crowded with a line to get in, but since it's counter service rather than table service (place your order at the register up front, then find a seat and wait for your order to be ready), the line moved steadily. Most of the seating is long picnic bench style, and we were able to snag a significant section of one for our group. I got the fried chicken sandwich, which was awesome -- great seasoning, juicy chicken, nicely crispy batter, excellent bun. Everyone else really enjoyed their orders as well. They were very busy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, but we were able to snag a table on the (dog-friendly) patio right away! The ambiance was awesome and we loved being right on the water. Unfortunately, they only had a two types of canned Best Day Brewing beer - nothing on tap. We got both the Hazy IPA and Kolsch, which were solid. For food, I chose the Burrata and Butternut Squash and my partner opted for the Joinery Burger. The Burrata was good, but not super memorable. My partner said his burger was awesome though. I've been wanting to try the fried chicken sando for a long time and it was fantastic! Super crispy chicken with arugula and fennel on a toasted seeded bun. I got the chipotle aioli on the side. The fries were ok, I probably won't order them again. I got the lychee and guava drink which tasted good. A friend got the potato and leek soup which she devoured and another friend got the salad with rotisserie chicken. She loved it so much that she ate everything. I want to try the it next time. The indoor seating is a bit cramped. We sat inside since it was a chilly day. There is outdoor seating on the back deck next to the water and near the entrance along the side of the building. Parking is kind of a pain. There is parking next to the building but you have to download an app in order to pay for parking. I tried a variety of items, the 1/2 roasted chicken plate, fried chicken sandwich, porchetta sandwich and the dirty fries. 1/2 Roasted Chicken Plate came with a side of roasted potatoes, an argula salad, and a green sauce with half chicken. Chicken was moist but not salted enough, however, they do have condiments you can season with to your liking. Overall, decent portion size. Fried Chicken Sandwich: It had a good size fried chicken piece with a spicy aioli, shaved fennel and arugula. It was pretty well flavored and filling. The sandwich itself comes with no sides, so you would need to add on a side if you wanted to. Porchetta Sandwich: It had sliced pork with cracklings and drippings, some greens and a dressing on a ciabatta. Flavor was okay for me, a bit light. Dirty Fries: It is garlic fries with pork belly and cracklings. I wish there was more garlic and that that the cracklings would be crispy. But these are decent fries. We thoroughly enjoyed our sunny summer weekday lunch at the Joinery as part of a day trip by car to Muir Woods, Sausalito, and Marin Headlands. At 12:40p on a Tuesday, there was a short line out the door, but it moved quickly, and we had our food by 12:58. The system is "fast casual" where you order at the counter and take a number to a table that you choose (1st come, 1st serve) from either indoor or outdoor options. We went for the outdoor option overlooking the gorgeous harbor and were lucky to snag a shaded biergarten-style 4 top at the north back corner of the building. Joinery is described as a gastropub, and I'd say that's right. Craft beers and super-fresh, high quality, homemade dishes using classic ingredients grown as close to home as possible is what they serve. People rave about the rotisserie chicken and salads. Prices are spendy but pretty normal for the SF-area. My expectations were high and I was not disappointed. My poached tombo tuna conserva on ciabatta roll was a *perfect* sandwich that I will never forget. The moist & mild white tuna portion was HUGE and the accompanying fresh produce, aioli, and vinaigrette were enough to push the whole thing to spectacular. My guys ordered burgers and fries, which they devoured with glee after our 6+ mile morning hike. My KSA Kolsh from Four Point Brewing served as an enjoyable appetizer and dessert for the meal. We loved the atmosphere here, a picturesque location filled with happy people who are living their best lives, for at least this hour. We saw lots of multi-generational families, international visitors speaking several languages, and cyclists who appeared to be on tours to Sausalito from SF. From the Joinery, we had a lovely stroll down the waterfront all the way over to Vina del Mar Park and back before we got back on the road for the rest of our scenic trip to the various Golden Gate viewpoints and around the headlands and up the 1 to Stinson Beach.
