I've been getting their salads here for a number of years. Always with brisket & ranch dressing. Yesterday was the last time because the quality has slid way downhill. The brisket was dry, the ranch dressing was watery & nearly tasteless. Plus you pay $1 for extra dressing now. The asparagus in the salad was also nearly flavorless, barely cooked & some pieces were so woody in texture I had to discreetly return them to the serving platter. With a tip, that was more than $30. I noticed the reviews for this spot were quite low but still wanted to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, this might be one of the worst BBQ spots I've been to. The ribs were extremely small, the brisket was very fatty, and the mac and cheese was watery. The cornbread also tasted like it was a day old and wasn't even warm. I know of this place but have never tried it till last night. summer is coming and time to sit outside which is nice on their patio. its a BBQ menu with some twists like the rueben sandwich which I ordered, wow was it good. It's interesting that the first time I came over I wasn't impressed but the second I came by I kinda enjoyed the food here. The place is in a mall so parking shouldn't be difficult. It's easy to make a reservation online but there is probably not a need to as I havent found it difficult to get seating. Most of the people ordered to go so there is usually some seating available. The seating at the patio seems to be more popular but because the location can get really hot I prefer it indoors. The people working here are usually really young and they do try their best and I'm impressed that they cleaned up without feeling grossed out by the leftover food. I really enjoyed the ribs and the sauces are great. The sausages are not bad either but I think pork ribs are the best chicken on the menu. It can be a little dry without the sauce but that's why the sauces are available. Although they charge for sauces when you order to go but you can ask for sauce when you take leftovers after dining in. I like the vibe of the restaurant even though it doesn't seem like a good fit for the decor of the overall shopping center. Overall I'd say I've had better BBQ but in the Bay Area this is good enough if you miss BBQ. read more

My family loves Pig in a Pickle, we've been eating here since they opened. They have the best bbq in Marin by a landslide (also the best mac n cheese). We enjoy the ribs, brisket, hot links, mac n cheese, chili, cornbread with honey butter and all of their specials are incredible! They also have a great selection of rotating beers on top and a fun bar scene. All staff members are friendly and helpful. Oh and their SAUCES - AMAZING! Not sweet, homemade, the spicy bbq sauce is actually spicy when so many others are not, and do not miss out on the Alabama white sauce. I tried their baby back ribs and was quite pleased with my decision. I believe they had a slight dry rub and no question, they were smoked. Tender and delicious. Not to mention their house sauce which was sweet, tangy and a great compliment to the meat. I lived in Texas for 8 years, so this is genuine Texas BBQ but better quality. The sides are consistently very good, especially the corn bread and mac & cheese. The ordering on the site is efficient and easy, but I question why I have to pay AND tip when I haven't seen a human. How do I know if my service is deserving of a tip? Once I placed my order, a human came out and gave us plastic ware. However, my husband had to get us waters because that is also self-serve. The food came out quickly!
