Have been here a couple of times for lunch. The first time we got pork tacos and the chicken sandwich. Both were really good. The jalapeños on the tacos added just enough heat but wasn't overpowering. The second visit the order was two fried chicken sandwiches. Nice sized pieces of chicken breasts are used and fried to a good crispy breading. The chili aioli is very good but it does get the bun a little soggy. Also ordered the dirty fries, garlic and pork belly and cracklings. They don't hold back on the garlic, as anyone I talked to the rest of the day would probably agree. My friends and I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening. It was a gorgeous day out so all of the tables outside were taken and none of the tables inside. The restaurant is on the water, so the view outside is great. There was a line to order, but it moved as expected. Food: I ordered a burger with a veggie patty, fries and brussel sprouts. The burger came with caramelized onions and bleu cheese. It was absolutely delicious. The fries were standard, but good. The brussel sprouts were also good. Went here last Saturday on the hottest day of the year (so far) after a too long hike. Frankly I was prepared for the worst, line was out the door and water front establishments don't tend to put a lot of effort in on food when they're selling the waterfront. To our surprise the salads, tacos, and burger were all excellent. The tacos especially were spicy and smoky. I hate when pulled pork tastes like stainless steel and low effort, these are the opposite. Tons of smoky woody flavor and a good amount of spice on them. We tried 3 of the salads and everyone was again surprised at how fresh and complex the salads were. Super flavorful and very freshly made. Burrata & Butternut Squash was a stand out. Beers were excellent as well, nice array of draft options. It's great to have a contemporary place in Sausalito on the water for younger people to enjoy. This place is nicely situated next to the water with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Scanning their menu on the way in I immediately spotted my lunch meal. I just so happen to be a huge fan of porchetta and their menu had a porchetta sandwich. The sandwich was served on a fresh roll with a lemony mayo that was absolutely delicious. The Joinery was such a sweet surprise to find in beautiful Sausalito. Outdoor restaurants for us newbies parents are really where our heads turn these days. Sausalito is filled with so many amazing spots it's sometimes hard to know which and where to go, but this is a special one. Whether you're looking to dine indoor/out, all patrons wait in one line for register ordering/with table numbers given. Honestly I don't mind this type of service sometimes, it gives ya time here to feel the onshore breeze on the waterfront patio while making your mind up between ordering the rotisserie chicken or fried chicken sandwich, ha. We went with the burrata & sweet peppers, the fried Brussels sprouts, the porchetta sandwich, the fried chicken sandwich, the soup of the day, and side of roasted potatoes. I figured with getting the roasted potatoes I could get the drippings from the rotisserie chicken still, so pro tip..they were excellent! I'm usually not extremely adventurous with my palate when eating while exploring, but the standout here for me (I mean, you truly can't go wrong with this menu) was the burrata & sweet peppers. Your served this amazingly warm and crusted country bread that provides the perfect edible serving tray for the dish. The meat for both sandwiches was so clean and juicy, the flavor profiles of each dish were so vibrant and noteworthy, and you could taste the freshness and vivacity of each dish down to the aïoli served along side the Brussels. The Joinery also has kid's plates, is stroller friendly/doggy friendly, and has a nice drink list. Even though I no longer work there, it hasn't stopped me from returning whenever I get the chance. The fried chicken sandwich is a staple here and my usual go-to. It's crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. My wife went for the porchetta sandwich, which was also a hit--delicious and satisfying. The seating options are flexible, with choices inside or outside. If you opt for the outside, you're treated to a beautiful view of the water. It's a great spot to soak in the scenery while enjoying your meal. We were looking forward to eating here for quite a while. Although the location is wonderful, our experience was not. We ordered three dishes, of which two had to be discarded. First, we found a black hair on the lemon of our brussels sprouts, and then when I cut my chicken sandwich in half, there was another short black hair. I went to the counter, and I politely showed the man the hairs. He barked at me that I had to talk to the kitchen manager and marched me into the service area. The kitchen manager's explanation for the hairs was that it was a windy day. The hair color found in our food did not match either of our hair colors, just to be clear. Then he asked me, "what do you want". Not very service-friendly. At this point, I had lost my appetite and definitely did not want a replacement. I was refunded for the two dishes and paid for the third and our two drinks. Although the third plate ended up getting tossed because we had our concerns. I have to comment on their pricing. One of the main dishes we ordered was an "impossible burger". A regular burger - 4k Ranch 100% grass fed beef is $18 without extras. If you substitute your beef for an Impossible patty, it is 4 dollars more. $22 for a vegetarian option; if you want fries, you have to order them separately, so add another $6. Decided to come here on a sunny weekend when visiting Sausalito. It's a cute lunch spot, with a view out onto the open water of the bay at the dock. It's a very chicken oriented spot, with no other meats being offered. They have a pretty interesting selection of beers as well. You order at the front and then they bring the food out to you. The service is pretty nice and fast, I don't have any complaints. I think on the flavor side, I get that the plate should feel organic and true to the original taste. It tastes great, but I think it is a bit overpriced for what the flavor should be. When it says 1/2 plate, you definitely get half of a whole chicken. So the quantity is there but I think the taste of lightly flavored chicken does get old after a while. So maybe go for the fried chicken sandwich. I think I might be used to pre inflation prices but I think that it might be a bit too much payment for the value that you're getting. This is my favorite to bring family and friends in Sausalito. The space is large and the view is stunning, facing the water and the boats. I always get the falafel sandwich, it's delicious and never disappoints. My friend just had the half chicken and really liked the chicken and the sides of potatoes and arugula. They also have really good wine and rosé. It's self service so you'll order at the front and then grab a number for them to bring the food over but the drinks you'll receive right away. Friends were in town, and wanted to try this gastropub after we had a kiddo date at the Bay Area Discovery Museum. It was only a 7 minute drive away, and really kid friendly, and in my friend's words, "a little too family friendly." Lots of families, lots of kids running around. The food was really good. I wasn't expecting much from a gastropub, but I really enjoyed my cheeseburger and fries. There was something that was really satisfying about it. The fries were good too, although I wish there were slightly larger portion of then. I can't say it was the best burger/fries I ever had, but it really hit the spot. My daughter got the chicken tenders (on the kids' menu) and fries, which she enjoyed too. The restaurant is very casual. You go up and order your food first, then go find a table and sit. This was a great format for families eating together, fast meal, can leave once you're finished eating. It was very, very crowded for a Saturday afternoon. Food came somewhat quick-ish, considering it was so busy. The restaurant layout isn't the best IMO, with huge communal tables of 12 seats each centering the restaurant, and lots of smaller tables on the edge, and lots of bar seating on the edge too. The outside was freezing cold and windy, and so no one wanted to sit outside. Because of the huge communal tables, being very long, it's a little difficult getting in and out of the restaurant. Just makes it harder when you can't go between aisles. Bathrooms were a little annoying. The sinks are communal and on the outside, which I usually love, but there was only one in operation, causing a huge traffic jam. The parking was not great. You have to pay for their own personal lot, or you have to pay for metered parking in the street. Anyway, overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant. Since the last time I came, they really got the potatoes right and they were so soft.
