I've been wanting to try the fried chicken sando for a long time and it was fantastic! Super crispy chicken with arugula and fennel on a toasted seeded bun. I got the chipotle aioli on the side. The fries were ok, I probably won't order them again. I got the lychee and guava drink which tasted good. A friend got the potato and leek soup which she devoured and another friend got the salad with rotisserie chicken. She loved it so much that she ate everything. I want to try the it next time. The indoor seating is a bit cramped. We sat inside since it was a chilly day. There is outdoor seating on the back deck next to the water and near the entrance along the side of the building. Parking is kind of a pain. There is parking next to the building but you have to download an app in order to pay for parking. There is free parking in the lot next to it but I decided to pay for metered parking on the main street.

I came here for lunch one weekend afternoon. Line was out the door when I arrived 30 minutes after opening, but the line went fast and we got seated after ordering. Food came out pretty quickly after. The food here definitely describes California cuisine. I tried a variety of items, the 1/2 roasted chicken plate, fried chicken sandwich, porchetta sandwich and the dirty fries. 1/2 Roasted Chicken Plate came with a side of roasted potatoes, an argula salad, and a green sauce with half chicken. Chicken was moist but not salted enough, however, they do have condiments you can season with to your liking. Overall, decent portion size. Fried Chicken Sandwich: It had a good size fried chicken piece with a spicy aioli, shaved fennel and arugula. It was pretty well flavored and filling. The sandwich itself comes with no sides, so you would need to add on a side if you wanted to. Porchetta Sandwich: It had sliced pork with cracklings and drippings, some greens and a dressing on a ciabatta. Flavor was okay for me, a bit light. Dirty Fries: It is garlic fries with pork belly and cracklings. I wish there was more garlic and that that the cracklings would be crispy. But these are decent fries. Overall, this place is very family friendly and has a nice view to look out at. Variety of different items and food isn't too heavy.

We decided to check out Joinery in search of Best Day Brewing non-alc beer. They were very busy on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, but we were able to snag a table on the (dog-friendly) patio right away! The ambiance was awesome and we loved being right on the water. Unfortunately, they only had a two types of canned Best Day Brewing beer - nothing on tap. We got both the Hazy IPA and Kolsch, which were solid. For food, I chose the Burrata and Butternut Squash and my partner opted for the Joinery Burger. The Burrata was good, but not super memorable. My partner said his burger was awesome though. Service was quick and friendly. Overall, I'd happily return for the great patio vibes, but the search for non-alc beer on tap continues!

Good place to hang out with people and a counter service restaurant. They have some outdoor seating with views of the bay. Good selection of beers. I tried the porchetta sandwich and a salad. The entree salads are large and very tasty. There is no dedicated parking lot it is all paid in the front parking lot or the street. You can use the pay by phone parking app

Still a gem of a place in Sausalito. They even give you a little birthday $. Love this place. Fresh food, cool vibe, efficient servers, cleaners and even though there will likely be a line, it moves and we always find a table. Only bummer this time is that I wanted to try the tuna sandwich but they were out. Wish they had a smaller salad because it is huge and when you add a protein it ends up being kind of pricey $26-$28. But it's fresh and tasty, and if my partner would share, it would be a perfect shareable salad with something else.

I have been coming here for years but realized that I have not written a review! I love eating here on a warm day, as they have a roll up door that leads out to a bayfront patio so lots of fresh air and beautiful views. My favorites are the tuna, pulled pork, and fried chicken sandwiches and the tacos are tasty too. My go to drink order is the shandy and I like that they have It's It ice cream sandwiches when I am in the mood for dessert. Service is consistently fast and efficient.

I LOVE the food here. Amazing sandwiches, crispy fries, and top it all off with a beautiful waterside view. I love the Porchetta sandwich, great combination of savory and fresh flavors! There are lemon slices inside to cut through the fattiness of the pork. Their chicken sandwich and burger are also phenomenal! Take the ferry over to Sausalito from SF and have a quick bite here, worth the trip every time!

The chicken sandwich was really good. I enjoyed their homemade ranch. The pulled pork tacos were underwhelming. The pork had some sort of sweetness to them, not sure what the flavor was, but, I didn't particularly care for it. Their fries were good. I'd try out more food items next time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our sunny summer weekday lunch at the Joinery as part of a day trip by car to Muir Woods, Sausalito, and Marin Headlands. At 12:40p on a Tuesday, there was a short line out the door, but it moved quickly, and we had our food by 12:58. The system is "fast casual" where you order at the counter and take a number to a table that you choose (1st come, 1st serve) from either indoor or outdoor options. We went for the outdoor option overlooking the gorgeous harbor and were lucky to snag a shaded biergarten-style 4 top at the north back corner of the building. Joinery is described as a gastropub, and I'd say that's right. Craft beers and super-fresh, high quality, homemade dishes using classic ingredients grown as close to home as possible is what they serve. People rave about the rotisserie chicken and salads. Prices are spendy but pretty normal for the SF-area. My expectations were high and I was not disappointed. My poached tombo tuna conserva on ciabatta roll was a *perfect* sandwich that I will never forget. The moist & mild white tuna portion was HUGE and the accompanying fresh produce, aioli, and vinaigrette were enough to push the whole thing to spectacular. My guys ordered burgers and fries, which they devoured with glee after our 6+ mile morning hike. My KSA Kolsh from Four Point Brewing served as an enjoyable appetizer and dessert for the meal. We loved the atmosphere here, a picturesque location filled with happy people who are living their best lives, for at least this hour. We saw lots of multi-generational families, international visitors speaking several languages, and cyclists who appeared to be on tours to Sausalito from SF. From the Joinery, we had a lovely stroll down the waterfront all the way over to Vina del Mar Park and back before we got back on the road for the rest of our scenic trip to the various Golden Gate viewpoints and around the headlands and up the 1 to Stinson Beach. All in all, a great day!

Delicious food, good portions and very filling, and great ambiance right on the water in Sausalito. The water definitely has times that it smells ~not so good~ though so beware, Half chicken plate, porchetta sandwich and brussel sprouts were all amazing options. It is a sit down but you order at a counter and are expected to bus your own plates at the end so not full service

I'm so happy we decided to have lunch here when visiting the area. We had a lovely experience. Note that there is a pay lot, but if you pass through it, you can find free public parking. When you enter, a view of the kitchen is to the left, a large menu is on the wall in front, & to the right is the order counter. After we ordered, we were given a table number & shown the very organized self service area to get utensils, napkins, glasses, fillable bottles for water, & condiments for ourselves. Staff was efficient, helpful, & maintained a clean dining area. The restaurant has lots of seating at tables & high tops. Music plays. Large doors completely open a wall to outside patio seating & a nice view of docked boats on the water. We felt the chilly, fresh breeze inside & were glad we dressed in layers. Our lunch picks-- Pulled Pork Tacos--meaty, really tasty, accoutrements added layers of flavor & texture 1/2 Chicken Plate--a lot of food, juicy chicken, came with 2 appetizing sauces (romesco was smoky & smooth, salsa verde was bright & herbaceous), potatoes were creamy, a simply dressed arugula salad was fresh & acidic Kids Joinery Burger--beefy flavor, thick fries, the carrots & celery were appreciated by my kiddo, but the ranch was very dill-forward We would happily come back to eat here again! Delicious food in a pretty setting!

We came back today for lunch and it was pretty crowded at about 11:30. We shared a delicious porchetta sandwich and half a chicken with verde salsa. We also had a cabbage kale slaw which was not good. I do not recommend the cabbage kale slaw which has a lot of mayo and very little kale. It tastes sour like lemon juice and it would have benefited from having more kale in it. It's just basically a very plain cabbage salad with a lot of mayo and lemon juice. Not tasty and not healthy. I should have ordered the arugula potato chicken plate which would have been healthier, tastier and cheaper than adding slaw to the chicken ala carte. I'll order the poached tuna sandwich next time.

Came here as part of our bike ride from SF to Sausalito and was really happy we did! The location is super cute, right in front of the waterfront with nice views. The food was also really good, and reasonably priced. Overall would for sure visit again if we came back to Sausalito! read more

Stumbled upon this place while waiting for a dinner reservation and had such a wonderful time here! I love the open air ambience and outdoor seating next to the water. The fries were so flipping good which I enjoyed with a beer. It was fairly busy when I went but the food came out at a decent time. This is a really nice spot to enjoy with loved ones and I'm excited to come back when I'm in town! read more

A sunny day led us outside of San Francisco across the bridge to Sausalito. While we were looking for seafood we came across this casual spot on the water and decided to pop in. There was plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and room for bigger groups. You order at the bar and bring a number to your table. We shared the joinery burger which was a typical brewery burger. Tasty but nothing special. The fries were great, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We were happy with the non-alcoholic beverage options as participants of dry january. We had a NA Kolsch and sparkling limeade. Great view from the patio we enjoyed a game of crib, and watched the birds in the harbour. read more

My office came here for lunch, this is the least vegan friendly place in Sausalito. While ordering, I attempted to ask if the buns for the impossible burger were vegan and man behind the counter was shockingly rude to me. I also asked about the falafel sandwich, if I hold the yogurt & aioli, is there some other sauce ... like hummus? He rolled his eyes, squinted at me and said "I don't know" in the rudest tone. Even my co-workers will shocked. Screw this place, I will make it very clear to everyone I know these folks are not friendly. read more

Came in for a little snack after walking around Sausalito. Plenty of seating and you get a nice view if you sit by the window. The employees were nice and accommodating. I just got the dirty fries (3.5/5). You don't really taste the garlic and the crispy pork belly was more chewy than crispy. Nevertheless it was still really good fries and the added meat tasted good. For sure ketchup makes this much better. Just wish it was more garlicky. read more

Food was delicious! I ordered a cheeseburger with a side of garlic fries. The buns were toasted perfectly and overall the burger was very satisfying. The garlic fries were the best I've had. I highly highly recommend ordering them if you're a fan of garlic. They do not shy away from putting garlic on the fries so each bite was garlicky and yummy. It's kind of a food hall vibe with communal tables. There were a good amount of tourists while I was there. read more

My wife and I noticed one specific person working twice as fast as everyone else. She was patient and tended to everyone's requests in the middle of a very busy Sunday afternoon. The service is so fast! I love ordering and having my food show up right away!! Also, there's tons of seating inside and outside, so despite the fact that it felt busy, we still had no problem finding seats. The food was so good. The kale and radicchio salad is to die for, and the fried chicken is so perfectly salted, and warm and juicy and tender, and crispy and heavenly. The Porchetta sandwich is also incredible. Honestly was a bit surprised at the high ratings here because while it was good, nothing really stood out to me. The chicken sandwich was good but I've had better elsewhere. It's a pay first, find your seat later spot and they did have a lot of seating both indoors and outdoors. The garlic fries were just okay IMO.. overall experience was fine but I think you can get better food for the price elsewhere. read more

Once again, thanks to Yelp for pointing me in the right direction. Today is a Saturday and it was full of tourists including me! It's hard to spot the untourist places. This is an amazing location. We ate outside facing the bay. You place your order at the register and take a number. The service was fast even though it was very crowded. I ordered the burratta red peppers and it was exquisite. The bread order was also great. The chicken sandwich was good but my son likes it with harder bread. The garlic French fries was super tasty, just a tad too much oil. If you like communal tables, a breezeway set up, good food, and a deck to enjoy the view along the water, the joinery is the place to be. They have sandwiches salads, casual food, beer and wine Great for lunch If you want to get away from the heat This is a great place to hang out, cool down. Tip: parking is hard in front of the restaurant. However, there is free 2 hr parking along the side of the block. Plenty of parking. read more

Pay at the counter, grab a number and seat. Food delivered directly to you. We had the brussels sprouts, burger, porchetta sandwich and chicken platter. The chicken is flavored well. Their accompanying sauces are good. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts but all other food was ok only. Views are great and relaxing with a cafeteria vibe if you're in the area. read more

We biked the Golden Gate Bridge, and we received a coupon for a free drink if we ate at Joinery. This place was the perfect lunch spot. Great weather, perfect day to enjoy a patio meal. It is fast casual order at the counter. - Fried brussel sprouts (4.5/5): These were DELICIOUS. So crispy and filling, They didn't seem that oily til I ate a few, then it was hard to eat too much of it. Definitely good for sharing. - Buffalo chicken sandwich (4.5/5): This was perfectly crispy, love the flavor of the sauce. Tangy, just the right kick. We upgraded the fries to dirty fries, to add in garlic and pork belly, and it was SO tasty. Like omg delicious, with the fattiness of the meat. Pretty greasy though, but it was worth it. read more

Given the long line to order and the prices here, we were expecting to be blown away. Instead, we found the food to be incredibly average. Dry chicken, cold sandwich, room-temp stale fries. I like this place. They have outside seating overlooking the marina and the bay. You can enjoy seeing the seagulls. They offer local made Brewery. I had their fort point cider that has 6.4% alcohol and it was pretty good. Love the cashier who took our order. She was super duper nice and she was offering us samples of their drinks. This is a nice place to hang. They can accommodate a big group. They have some selection for desert and food. read more

Great quality food nice selection. Service is excellent. Do not be intimidated by the line to order it is worth it and in most cases people get in and out within reason. If you are luck enough to sit outside facing the marina on a perfectly clear day you cant beat it even if it loud but it is the bustle of everyone enjoying themselves. read more

Short story: amazing service, great food, awesome beers!! All with a view of the harbour. Longer story: came here with about 65 of my good friends for a holiday party. Even with a crew that big, Christina and here team did an incredible job getting everyone fed, served, and enjoying the day. The half chicken plate is no joke, but order the fries, too!!! Best spot ever. I can't have dairy, and they were so accommodating. I wanted to try my in laws potatoes, and we asked if there was dairy and were told there was so I couldn't have any. Then the manager came to our table and brought me 4 dairy free potatoes, free of cost. They were absolutely delicious and my in laws couldn't stop raving about them. The food is so fresh and made with wholesome ingredients. It gives a very farm to table vibe. I got the tuna sandwich. Absolutely loved the sauce on it. Brussels were delicious too. Chicken is 100% the meat to get here (over beef options). Great for kids yet also good for an older crowd with the beer variety. Laid back beautiful atmosphere overlooking the water. Bring a jacket because it does get a little chilly with the breeze (as does everywhere in norcal). 1000% coming back every time we drive up. read more

We stopped in here after a long bike-ride across the bridge to grab some food and drinks. The whole area has a great vibe and you're right on the water which is always a plus on a Sunny day. It's very dog friendly, and very friendly in general as the entire staff is great! There's a pretty solid drink menu with their beers being very refreshing. The real winner for me though was the falafel salad. The falafel itself is so moist yet crispy, which for me is a winning combo. Throw in some delicious fries, and everyone else around having a great time and you have yourself a winner! read more

The Joinery is an excellent post-hike place with great people watching given Sausalito's singular cross section of locals and tourists. The position on the Bay is stunning although I wouldn't mind if they kept their doors closed during the often-chilly afternoons. The Fattoush Salad is fantastic though they have the annoying trend of charging a decent amount for any protein additions making it costly to get a balanced meal. Even so, it's delicious. Plus, the menu is varied without compromising quality so it's a great option for pleasing a crowd. read more

Didn't try the food but love the traditional German beer offerings and a great venue with some outdoor tables with views of the bay. We each had a couple Oktoberfest beers which were very good. Nearly all the beers are German, with one or two Belgian and only a few American. I was just so happy to not be inundated with IPAs. And I was impressed that every beer was served in the proper glassware. Would definitely return! read more

Rode our bikes here from the city on a sunny day. Easy bike parking and the perfect spot to enjoy some drinks on the water! We only had some beers, but the fries were tempting and will have to come back to try some food! read more

I was looking for a place to grab food outside of the city...when I stumbled upon this place. Ordering is fast, efficient, and comfortable. The place was very clean albeit loud. I liked my burger, however, my wife didn't like her tuna sandwich. The fries were solid. If there is one knock..the tap list was really lame. read more

Great spot to grab dinner and watch the sun set. Parking could be a bit difficult here. There is a small lot but also street parking. You order inside and they bring the food to your table. The service was quick and the workers were all friendly. I got the salad which was very refreshing. My friend got the rotisserie chicken and said that it was very good and juicy. The chicken was not dry. read more

I came here just to relax and grab a beer and some desert. The location is great and you have a great view of the water. I only interacted with the lady who took my order but she was very nice and had a smile on her face while she helped me. I always appreciate a place with good customer service. read more

This is one of those places where I loved the appetizers more than the entrees. The Brussels sprouts tasted so good, especially with the dip that it comes with. There's plenty in each serving for 2-3 people to share. The burrata was also amazing and something I'd highly recommend trying if it's your first time. So flavorful with all the different side toppings and bread. The fried chicken sandwich tasted so flavorful with the hot sauce and some of the burrata ranch on the side. Overall, I loved the vibe of this place, being located on the side of a small pier. Eating outside will give you these nice views while allowing you to enjoy your food. read more

Honestly, that almost sent me right back out the door. I wanted an actual menu, not a tiny phone screen with lots of scrolling and submenus, especially since I had questions about the food. The atmosphere felt a bit impersonal at first, mostly because of the mall setting and the QR-code ordering system, but the friendly staff helped make it feel much more comfortable once we got settled. The two people working the front were both very pleasant, answered my questions, and made the whole experience feel much more welcoming. They had a decent IPA selection and a variety of bar foods (pizza, wings, appetizers). We ordered the arancini, fried cauliflower, and a pizza. The fried cauliflower was the surprise hit for me, especially with the garlic aioli. The arancini and pizza were also very good. The QR ordering setup still feels more frustrating than inviting, but the friendly service and surprisingly good food turned things around. In the end, I left glad that I stayed.

Let me start by saying this is a big deal. Why? Because I have been an avid Yelper for almost 10 years and this is my first review (I was employed by Yelp so not allowed to write reviews for 7 of those years, and I've been waiting for the right place to "pop my review cherry"). So why the Joinery and why 3 stars. I know... you would assume it would be an impassioned plea of either 5 or 1 stars. Here's why. I love this place (or really want to love it). I eat here at least once a week, likely more like twice. More confused? The truth is the food is extremely hit or miss, namely the fried chicken sandwich. Ordering that thing is like a game of Russian roulette. It's either going to be the best fried chicken sandwich you've ever had with a mounding piece of meat... OR, it's going to be a sad slim excuse of poultry I can only compare to beef jerky. I've had both, many, many, times. We've had people sitting at the same table get a mixture of both, at the same time. The excitement of being the winner of the good piece and the lows of being the jerky chewer is a game I no longer wish to play. Dear Joinery restaurateur: Please, please, please offer a consistent fried chicken sandwich!! You would be by far the best restaurant in Sausalito (maybe the Bay area) if I only knew what to expect when walking through the door. read more

So excited this spot is part of the neighborhood! Sausalito and Marin has been in desperate need of something fresh and new and Joinery more than delivers. What I love most about the menu is that there is absolutely something for everyone...You can't go wrong with the burger and dirty fries, the rotisserie chicken is roasted to a mysterious perfection, and the salads and soups are balanced as thoughtful with outstanding seasonal ingredients. Love the space which shows off the original architecture and spectacular view of the bay. This will definitely be one of my standbys! read more

Three because the price offsets the view. Beer selection has some banger classics. But the prices are absurd. 8 bucks for a half liter! Back home in portland it's 10 for a full liter. The burger was good. Definitely a 12 dollar burger. But the fact of the matter was that it was 12 dollars before I added the bacon and cheese. Without the bacon it would be maybe a 6 or 7 buck burger. Nothing too special. All in all I paid about 25 for a 1 person meal with a nice view. But it was too crowded to get nice outdoor seating. A very nice place. The view is just exquisite and eyegasmicWe .loved the butternut squash hummus (special) .Tables are right on the water with great views.Really loved the drink as well. The staff were a bit friendly and helpful but that did not in no way deter me from enjoying my food, cold drink and the view. Really close to the docks where you can get a ferry to San Francisco Ferry Building. Had an unforgettable experience, I totally recommend it. read more
