    Porchetta Cubano

We stopped by this place on our way back from Muir Woods. It's next to a Holiday Inn. The environment was very inviting. They have a big bar area with lots of TVs so people can watch sports. They also have a separate lounge section and a recreational section with billiard and other games. We ordered the potato pancakes to share. It was tasty with the chive dip but I felt it wasn't worth $13. For entree I had the porchetta cubana. The roll was nicely toasted, the fries were amazing! But the porchetta itself was a miss. I thought the pork gaminess was a bit strong. Maybe a bit more time spent marinating would help. The habanero hot sauce that it came with also didn't do much for me as it felt very mild and watered down. Overall I thought this place was solid. Prices were a bit high for what you get. Also avoid the porchetta.

Tam Tavern feels very similar to the old Floodwater--same general vibe, just with a slightly more casual staff and a new menu. The location is great, but the parking situation really should be better. Just know: it's not cozy or intimate. It still has that "sports bar from the past" energy, with pool, air hockey, tons of TVs, and a patio with a beer-garden feel. It also still has that hotel-restaurant atmosphere, but not quite in the appealing way you'd hope. The food was solid overall. The fried chicken was much spicier and saltier than expected, the Niçoise salad was pretty good, and the French dip was hearty. They do have a strong beer selection. Dessert, however, was disappointing--only three frozen options, none of which were worth it. The banana split was overly sweet with artificial-tasting red sauce, the "tiramisu" felt like a frozen cup, and the ice cream was just... ice cream. There's potential here, but a few upgrades--parking, atmosphere, and the dessert menu--would go a long way.

Ambiance - classier sports bar than just beer and TVs, an excellent playlist, a now enclosed patio for dog friendly dining and an overall good vibe to meet with friends even if you don't want to watch the game. Service - is attentive but not aggressive. Cocktails are well crafted and it's nice to have East Brother have a showcase for their many excellent styles of beer. Food - The menu is elevated sports bar, in the two times we've dined here since reopening, the solid go back to is the ribeye French dip sandwich, served with French fries. We started both times with the bar pretzel which is easily shared by two, this time we added the potato pancakes, fried just right (my partner thought they needed salt but he has a salt tooth). Other recent reviews that mention the smash burger note that the bottom bun is soggy, I concur (but I liked the grind and flavor) so I opted for the fish and chips this time, again fried perfectly, the batter crunched nicely with each bite. I don't mind the vinegar served alongside, found it easy to dip along with the housemade tartar sauce and French fries. Overall, I like this establishment for both drinking and eating, maybe the burger needs a little tweaking but the menu is inviting, the portions good sized and the food pairs well both with their cocktails and the beers. If you want more than the standard sports bar, this is a good experience and we will return.

Steady service, definitely there for efficiency vs super hospitable. Not in a bad way at all. The food was good - I loved the French dip, but my date thought the smash burger was lacking in flavor. The oatmeal stout might be one of the best stouts I've ever had. I would make the drive (over an hour) just to enjoy it again.

I was craving a beet salad on the way home from Stinson and Floodwater came up with strong reviews. We stopped by with our pup and sat on the outside patio with an umbrella. Started off with the blonde ale and the what a melon cocktail. Our server was a bit rude to start as my husband asked his opinion between two beers and the guy just said "they're two completely different things".... It made it so awkward! We ordered the sliders, garlic fries, and a pizza in addition to the salad. The sliders were the best thing we ordered. The pizza was fine, the beet salad was fine, the fries were nice and crunchy and the ketchup was good- but the sliders were the most tasty. Overall I think the servers weird attitude at the start kind of set things off downhill pretty early on. I enjoyed the dining atmosphere otherwise and the other staff members were friendly.

What a welcome addition to Mill Valley! Sports bar with plenty of big screen tvs- check! Lively beer garden with occasional live music - check! Delicious beer + cocktails - check check! Game room with pool table, shuffleboard, fussball - check check check! And most importantly, delicious food and a fun vibe. Highly recommend: -- The Schnitzel (who else in Marin does authentic German schnitzel, red cabbage and spaetzle?). -- The Double Smashburger -- the Pizzas (if you're a carnivore, definitely order the Molinari Meats!). -- the Beer Battered Fish & Chips -- Bavarian Pretzel with stout beer cheese and mustard -- Saigon wings While all of the above may sound like something you wouldn't want to share with your cardiologist, they have lighter options as well. Their salads are surprisingly fresh, delicious and satisfying (I'm partial to the grilled chimichurri steak). And I'm a fan of their hummus plate with Z'aatar flatbread, and their potato pancakes. While I miss Floodwater's ruben sandwich, Tam Tavern's French Dip is a worthy substitute. The staff is friendly and efficient; the pricing is reasonable; and it's both family-friendly + dog-friendly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but aside from that... this place is a winner! Looking forward to exploring more of their menu + Game Day fun.

Our insights: -Good servings and easy access if you are staying in HIEx Mill Valley. We went an all day excursion to explore the city and once we got back to the hotel, we were starving. Since we were tired, this restaurant is definitely on the right spot.

Parking spot with no no parking sign.

Avoid this place at all costs. Beer is mediocre and the food is even worse. The parking situation is an absolute mess. We drove around, entering through the left and wrapped around to find a spot. When we did, there was no signs saying no parking. Two hours later my car is stolen (towed) and I'm out $700+. To top it off, the tow company they used made fun of my visual disability when we went to retrieve the car.

That said, the bartender wasn't too busy to serve the locals at the counter multiple times, chatting and laughing extensively with the regulars who were passing around homemade cupcakes or sharing plates of food they'd ordered from the Mexican restaurant next door. They even offer a good quality gluten-free option, which was great for my buddy. Their drink menu is equally diverse, featuring an excellent selection of beer, wine, and mocktails, ensuring there is something for everyone. While the setting is excellent, the service can be a bit spotty. The restaurant gets extremely busy, and at times it feels like the staff is simply stretched thin. We found the table servers to be much better than the cashiers at the windows, who could be a bit unfriendly. One cashier even insisted he had confirmed our order correctly when I had to correct what was actually brought to us--definitely a case of poor active listening skills. They would have received 5 stars if it weren't for the cashiers taking orders. Overall, if you go in knowing it leans heavily toward a family-oriented crowd and can get very crowded, it's a wonderful place to enjoy great pizza and the outdoors. Just be patient with the parking, as it can be a bit tricky to find a spot.

While the chips & dip were good, they're something you can find elsewhere, so not necessarily a standout. Everything else, though? OUTSTANDING! The CN burger sliders were also a hit--we had one each and they were so yummy that next time my husband is already planning on getting two. The drinks were on point. One thing worth noting: happy hour is now only offered Monday-Thursday, but Sydney was kind enough to honor it for us on Saturday since the website hadn't been updated yet. Because of that, my experience may be influenced by expecting a bit higher quality, especially given the other food options in the area The Cantina in Mill Valley is a pretty standard Mexican spot with a Tex-Mex lean. I usually enjoy this style of food; I was a big fan of places like El Torito in SoCal, but this one didn't quite land for me. We ordered two burritos. The portions were generous, but the flavors were very mild. I love bold, spicy food, and these were lacking seasoning in my opinion. I ended up taking half home and adding avocado, lemon, and salsa from my own kitchen to give it the punch it was missing. We also tried the queso fundido, which was interesting. I hadn't had it prepared quite like that before, and it definitely leaned more Tex-Mex. It wasn't bad, just different from what I expected. Unfortunately, the service was a letdown as well. If that's the case, those menus shouldn't be out at all--it sets expectations that weren't met. Overall, if you're looking for a basic Tex-Mex spot and aren't big on spice, this might work for you. For me, between the bland food and the service issues, it's not a place I'd rush back to.

Great bar too. Today I had a crunchy salad with a piece of skirt steak. My friend had a huge enchilada platter. Couldn't have been better.
